[SP-F1] Material Hunting

Stretching her arms wide, Allania stood up from the bench she had been perched on for well over an hour now. She had finally decided that today she'd go and gather some resources. Her supplies were dwindling a little in her shop, she only had 9 left. "That would only last me another two days at max" she thought. Now that she had stretched out the cramps in her legs, Allania took a leisurely stroll towards the gate of the Town, there was no need to rush, she had all day after all. Taking detour and side road after detour and side road, Allania took no distinct or logical path towards the gate. She was just taking a stroll, "I'll get there eventually" she thought, "so long as gather at least 3 or 4 mats over the next two days I'll be fine". She mused.

After a while of meandering around the Town, Allania finally found herself stood at the exit of the Town. Looking down the hill, at all the players who were once again fighting the Boars. Allania decided she was not quite ready for that yet, "I'll just wait until my new armour gets approved, then I'll be down there with the lot of them".

Standing at the gate, Allania looked to see where would be good places to go and gather. She had scouted the edge of the Town plenty of times already, it was high time she ventured further out. She was level 5 now after all, she should be able to handle herself. Allania began to walk along the road that stretched out from the Town, walking down it she felt rather sure of herself now, "Maybe I could take on some Boars" she thought, "I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it. But I should probably not go out of my way searching for trouble"

As she walked down the path, Allania thought she had spotted a plant that was harvestable. Rushing over towards it, Allania topped just before it and crouched down, the plant now being eye level. After a moments inspection Allania realised that she was mistaken about the plants nature, it was not one of the harvestable ones, not something she could gather a material from, 'twas just a cosmetic plant. Standing up, Allania continued on her travels, following the road further and further out into the plains that surrounded the Town of Beginning.

Keeping an eye out as she walked further into the plains, further than she had gone before. Allania could not spot any plants or scraps that could be of any use, she found no materials. As she strolled down the road, at her own leisurely pace, letting the world just happen around her, Allania's thoughts started to wander, first going to how she had never been this far from a safezone before, as normally she just skirted the Town's wall. Then to the sky above, and the floors that hung way over her head, she had been to both the third and fourth floor, but she could barely claim that, afterall she had only stayed in the safe zones, and they were both more of a just in. get what you need and out again trip. They'd been scary but both fun, seeing new parts of the world always was.

Taking a short break from her train of thought, Allania wandered off the beaten path. Heading in the general direction of a patches of bushes, thinking that she'd be able to find some decent materials there.  Arriving there in short stead, Allania began to search the area for materials, not too thoroughly though, as her mind was still on the floor's above. Allania found nothing with her quick survey.

Deciding to not move on yet from this patch of bushes, Allania began her search anew. She knew that her first can had been rather superficial, not actually searching thoroughly for any materials, so this time she'd search with care. Crouching down so that she was level with the bushes, Allania began to check them one by one. Getting to the last few bushes of the bunch, Allania finally found one with a single harvestable material, taking it and adding it to her inventory.

Wandering off from the bunch of bushes that she was just searching. Satisfied that there was nothing left to find there. Allania continued on her aimless journey, this time walking away from any of the paths she had walked before. She wanted to explore, go somewhere that she had not visited before. While walking she kept an eye out for any materials, scanning her eyeline for anything that could potentially be a material and meandering her way towards them. The first of these meanders leading Allania to a small gathering of trees, but after a quick search Allania drew a blank, not finding any materials there.

Deciding to pass a little time, Allania decided to go find a Boar, give it a go, see if she could kill one of the more dangerous ones. One of the Boar's she could get actual loot from. With this in mind, Allania scoured the horizon, searching for a lone Boar matching the description she wanted. After all, she did not want to have to fight a group of the things, especially not when she didn't have someone like Eth with her who could obliterate them in a single swing. Spotting a Boar that she liked the look of, not too large, but not tiny either, Allania set off in its direction. Hopefully she would not die this day.

Approaching the Boar quickly, running towards it. Allania took out her dagger, preparing to launch a Sword art at the Beat. She was going to try one of the fancier ones, Armor Pierce. Her one move that would be able to stun a Boar. Launching forward, dagger thrusting for the Boar, Allania missed as the Boar jerked its head around, realising it was being attacked it moved and tried to strike at Allania. Both of them missing, the Boar only by a fraction. Allania hopped back a few paces, getting some distance between her and the Boar.

Having her first attack miss on her, Allania thought it may have been due to her inexperience with that move. With this taken into consideration, Allania chose to activate on of her other few Sword Arts, this time going for Side Bite, one that she had more experience with. Dashing forward, her dagger flying in her hand towards the Boar, Allania managed to strike, hitting the Boar with her blade, but it just shrugged it off, thinking nothing of the wound it had just dealt her. Luckily for Allania though, the Boar had not yet managed to land a single hit.

Noting at how little damage she did to the Boar, Allania decided to not to use a sword art this time, and instead went for a basic cut, trying to hit the Boar once again. The blade of her dagger, forming a wide arc as she sliced at the Beast with ferocity, caught the Boar once again, but as last time, seemed to do nearly no damage to the creature. As she swung wide, the Boar took its chance made by the opening the cut gave it, rushing forward and piercing Allania's abdomen with it's tusk.

It was then that Allania knew she could not kill this Boar. Not yet at least. So Allania made preparations to flee. She spent this round thinking of what to do, how she would escape, if she would escape. While distracted by these thoguhts, the Boar tooks another opportunity to ram it's tusks deep into Allania, scoring a critical hit.

With her plan in her mind Allania executed it, lurching forward as if to attack the creature, the Boar charging towards her in response. Just as the Boar was about to pierce her once again with its tusks, Allania hopped to the side and started to sprint away from the Boar, running away while it was still charging in the opposite direction. 

Grinding to a halt as it normally does when charging, the Boar quickly turned round, only to notice that the girl it was fighting, the one that had struck it twice now was running away, and was a fair distance off. Putting its head down, pounding the ground and blasting steam from it's nostrils, it made chase after the girl.

Looking back over her shoulder, Allania spotted the Boar chasing after her. So instead of running now in a straight line, Allania took to running in a random meandering path, the Boar following closely behind her as she went. It was great fun, risky but fun. As she ran she had a little song plaing in her head (OOC: song in the spoiler below), laughing as she ran. Allania finally managed to outrun the Boar, all the meanders helping in the effort, but it had taken a fair bit out of her. Breathing heavily Allania slumped to the ground against the tree, waiting to heal while she caught her breath.

After finally escaping that Boar, Allania sat at the base of the tree for a fair long while, taking long deep breaths, trying to restore her breathing. That had been quite a run, a wonderful work out in fact, as it was one of the few times in this world thus far that she had had the motivation to exercise. Albeit it was due to a rampaging Boar charging after her nearly the whole distance until she finally lost it. Saying a short prayer, thankful that she had managed to escape, if she had taken just a could more hits there was no way she would have made it out. That would have most likely been her final battle if she hadn't escaped.

Slightly disappointed in herself for having to run, Allania looked down at her equipment. It was high time that she got an upgrade, when she did she would hunt down that Boar once again and challenge it to a rematch, "maybe the Boar will be the one fleeing this time" she mused, chuckling to herself at the thought.

Feeling nearly as good as new, Allania stood up, and looked around. "I think I'll head back in the direction of Town, I'm not quite ready to fight these things after all" Allania thought. Scanning the horizon, Allania quickly spotted the settlement, it wasn't that far away, but this was by far the furthest she had traveled from safety yet, but it was progress. Even if she did have to run away from a Boar. 

Setting off, Allania began to meander once again, having the town as her ultimate goal but not going directly there. That would be just boring. So she weaved about in the plains, never straying further from the town than when she started but in no way making a beeline for it.

On her meanders, Allania stopped by at one of the small clumps of bushes that littered the plains. Looking over the cluster, Allania spotted one that was obviously full of a material. Ripe for the harvest. Plucking away at the strands of the plant,  Allania collected the material, putting it safely away into her inventory. Not having fully searched this mass of bushes yet, Allania stayed to peruse them further.

On a more thorough inspection, Allania spotted one of the bushes that was tucked away, it was further into the collection of them, but no more difficult to reach, only difficult to spot. So stepping into the clutch of bushes, Allania reached out to the material rich bush, following suit like she had just priorly done, picking away at it. Harvesting it for the material it bore. Once she had gathered this material, Allania thought it time to continue on her journey towards the town, whether there was a material still in this agglomeration of plants or not.

As Allania walked away from the cluster of bushes, now meandering once again. Not paying much attention to her surrounding, her head shifting from one patch of bracken to another, walking towards one. Changing her mind. Then walking towards another, each as promising as the last. But never quite reaching one, Allania was unsuccessful in finding any materials.

Finally settling on one of the collection of bracken and brush. Allania made her way there, this time walking directly there. She was actually focused on the task this time. Arriving at the cluster, Allania knelt down, searching thoroughly for materials. Finding a small plant, just on the edge, Allania picked at it, in the same way she had the previous plants, Gathering the material in a short span of time. Wondering where she should go next, forgetting she was headed for the Town.

Off on her travels once again, Allania heads towards a nicely shaded patch of trees. Settling herself underneath one, sitting in the shade of the tree. Allania looked up, watching the pattern of light breaking through the leaves, seeming to dance in the breeze made an ever changing sequence of light, none two alike. Allania became quickly enchanted by the pattern, losing focus on the world around her, no longer aware of what was happening. As her awareness slowly decreased, getting less and less, Allania felt her eyes drooping, falling fast asleep before long.
