[F9-SP] Cerberus has a mixtape? <Guardian of Fire>

Recommended Posts

9th floor again, the hot volcano like floor. Macradon was here because he was in need of the potion Cerberus dropped when clearing the quest, it wouldn't be that difficult, only a long journey to the cavern. Macradon would start out the day with a potion, it would op his damage by 4 increasing his potential of killing mobs everywhere. The amount of mobs on this floor was flooding with goods and Macradon just had to look for them, it wouldn't take too long. All he had to do was to get to the cavern, clear it and go for a dungeon dive, what a day.

Macradon would start his journey from the main settlement of the town and into the fields of the ninth floor of the castle Aincrad. He would walk around the red and lava lit fields of the big floor, big rock boulders scattered around the fields, small pebbles and larger rocks just as scattered. Macradon would walk through the vast and empty scenery, just as he was about to engage upon a group of monsters, seemingly something that looked like hell hounds. Macradon prepared himself to slay. With 6 quick swipes he would take out the hell hounds with no sweat on his forehead. He would get ready to kill some more of these as he would journey to the cavern.

Aiming to get as much loot as possible before he would meet Cerberus was a must and was prioritized by Macradon for the sake of him actually getting something out of this journey other than the Cerberus Soul. Even though the potion was great, he wanted more than that. Another group of hell hounds would appear close to Macradon. He would charge in to deal the killing blows, but some of them got to react and strike Macradon. He would quickly activate his <Disguise> skill to cover himself as one of them, confusing them and adding onto his attack as he jumped out of the disguise to strike them down.

Macradon had destroyed 2 groups of hell hounds, he was now looking for a third group which he could demolish and grab the loot. He would try to find one last group before he would find shelter which he could sleep in. There they were, 4 hell hounds just waiting to be slain. With a swift movement, Macradon would pick up speed to make his Charge trigger and send him flying into the group of hounds. With his swift attacks, the hounds would meet their doom. Destroying the now in total 12 hounds was a good training exercise as he was getting warmed up for Cerberus.

Macradon would quickly find some place he would be able to hide in, a small rock formation that could hide his entire body, it was great enough for him. He would go in under the rocks and get to sleep, first day over with or so it seemed. He woke up after his few hours of sleep and would get going again, ignoring the fact that he hadn't eaten anything, but he wasn't really feeling that hungry anyways, so it wasn't a big deal for him. he would just keep on walking, just keep the groove going.

He would continue this long journey for the next 3 days, only sleeping and walking, as those were his priorities for now. There wasn't much more that he could do other than walking the whole distance to the cavern of the big Cerberus. Macradon wouldn't jump straight into action yet, he still had to await his small strategy on how he should tackle what would appear on the inside of the cave. If he remembered right, he would meet some other hell hounds in the cave and had to defeat those before he would be able to fight Cerberus.

He would take a deep breath and would begin to enter the cave. The hot intensely burning cave was hot, extremely hot. Even though lava was everywhere on the walls and burning flames were scattered around, the heat wasn't touching Macradon the slightest. He had gotten the Survival skill after his detour in the hot and col desert, getting a good eye to the environment that was around him. The heat wasn't damaging him like it would've done to some else. Macradon was safe from all those flames and would soon be inside the deep cave. The room he was in was like a big arena, all lit up by lava flowing on the walls. The floor of the room was littered with bones, ash and dirt. Like a big hound's little dog bed.

Up from the ashes came 3 hell hounds. They were looking intensely at Macradon before they would go for the assault. Their howl would echo through the cave and come back at Macradon. It startled him slightly, but he wouldn't budge from his place, he would just stand there and draw his sword. "Do you bleed?" he asked the hounds "Because you might" he said as he would get ready to attack. "I won't even need charge for you guys" he said as they would come closer. one of the hell hounds managed to bit into Macraodn, but it wouldn't bother him. He would swing his sword with all his might in 2 wild swings, cleaving twice through the group of hounds, leaving them stunned for the duration.

Big red open wounds on the stunned hell hounds would be placed after Macradon's sickle would deal its devastating attack on them. The wounds were bleeding and Macradon would snicker "I told you that you would bleed" he said and would begin to walk to the center of the arena, awaiting Cerberus to appear. The bleed would take out the hounds while Macradon was leaving their vicinity, forcing Cerberus to awaken from its slumber. The big dog Cerberus with its 3 heads would jump down from the ceiling, all the three heads would howl out in the cave to intimidate whoever dared to trespass.

Macradon was ready to fight Cerberus. He would initiate his <Charge> skill and rush forward into the big hound, getting the charge damage bonus onto his attack, making it easier for him to attack the big vile beast of a hell dog. Macradon would try to get a good AOE attack to cover all the three heads at once, taking it out without much trouble. Macradon's sword would cleave straight through the three big heads like they were butter and his sword was a hot knife. It was going smoothly, taking out the heads with a few simple strikes, leaving the big Cerberus defeated. Macradon would grab the loot from the three heads and the final quest loot, the Cerberus soul. It was what he was coming for after all.

Macradon would rush back up from the cave and get up into the open fields of the 9th floor. Now that the quest was clear, Macradon only needed to do one thing more before he would return to his shop. He had to find a sub dungeon up here. It would be dangerous when fighting the boss, but also very lucrative. Macradon firstly need to clear some mobs off this floor to kill time when he was looking for the dungeon. With just a quick movement as he arrived on the surface of the floor, he would rush into a group of hell hounds with his charge skill.

Macradon would go after one last group of hounds before he would begin the sub dungeon expedition. All he had to do was to kill these hounds and get on with his search for the sub dungeon. He would rush into the last group of hell hounds with his charge and cleave through the hounds with a shock wave of force, destroying the hounds leaving only the loot that Macradon would pick up from the ground. His Recovery and Regen would trigger after one of the hounds somehow bit him as he would execute his sword art.

He didn't have enough energy to continue the fighting up here, so he would just take a short rest, maybe looking for some materials he could use ... he quickly gave up as it didn't seem like he would find anything on this floor, maybe obsidian, but that was one heck of a mineral to work with, which Macradon wasn't fond of as his business had been quite stale with all the requests and all his failures of making perfect crafts made it quite boring to work, and having something even harder to work with would also become tedious.

He wasn't in the mood for finding materials, it just wasn't what he expected from this journey, so he wouldn't do so and just take the rest before venturing for the dungeons that would help him level up. he would just sit there up the cave entrance's walls and close his eyes for a few seconds, just relaxing all through before his energy would return to normal so he would be able to take down some mobs. It wouldn't take too long for him to regain his energy, just a few minutes more.

He wasn't too far from finding something that presumably was a sub-dungeon. But for now he would relax just a few minutes more, grind some mobs and then head for the sub-dungeon hunt. If he would be able to get the sub dungeon cleared before the boss raid began, it would be a big plus in his book. Macradon would place his hand in mid air and swipe downwards, lightly, to bring up the menu. He would take out a bottle of water and drink it. With a satisfying "Aaaaahhhh~" as he had finished drinking the water.

Getting back up on his feet, Macradon would walk around the 9th floor, going around, trying not to think too much about the blazing hot scenery around him. His metal armor would pick up the heat, though he wouldn't really mind that much as his <Survival> skill would help him ignore the intense heat from the floor's flowing lava. He glared upon all the dead land, the desert that was made of lava and rocks, scattered all over the 9th floor. No flowing water to be seen. Macradon would wander around a bit more as he would try to find a good spot to take a good rest at.

He looked everywhere for a good resting spot, but the 9th floor prove to be more of a hazard than a resting place. Even though he had been camping out on the 9th floor a few times, it was still not the best place to take a nap on. All the lava, all the rocks, all the mobs. Everything was dangerous on this floor, like it was Australia, where everything tries to kill you, even the plants. He sighed as he looked everywhere, trying to find a suitable spot for him to tak a rest, but it just didn't seem to be located anywhere.

After a few hours of walking, the light was getting dimmer, it was probably getting towards the night. Macradon would hurry and find something he could hide in through the night so he could look for dungeons the next day. Quickly navigating through all the rocks and lava, Macradon found a small rock formation, just barely large enough to house Macradon for now. He would quickly go to sleep and held himself hot with the heat from the floor itself. All the lava was heating up the air, making it just right to sleep in.

After a good night's sleep, Macradon go up and would continue his search for the dungeon. Without much hesitation, he would begin to look everywhere, even where he looked yesterday. Thinking about where the hidden gate to the dungeon would be placed. It could spawn at any moment now. He would look around, trying to see if he could find anything that would lead him to the hidden dungeon, any help would make him happy, as it would be easier for him to take the dungeon today and get some exp instead of having to look for it another day.

  • 3 weeks later...

It seemed like nothing was able to be found for now. Macradon sighed deeply as he would leave the 9th floor. After so much work, but to no avail, no dungeon was found. "I should probably invest in some Search and Detect and that mod ... what was the name again ... uhh ... Reveal?" he though for himself as he left the fields of the 9th floor, entering the main city over the bridge, getting over the deep lava pit underneath. As he got back to the town, he would get to the warp plaza immediately. "Warp, first floor" he said as he was engulfed in blue light and was transported back to his home town, the Town of Beginnings.
