[PP-F1] To the Fields (Gaster) <<Earning a Living - repeat>>

Allania had tended to Blaze and he now accompanied her on her way to the meet point she had set up with Gaster earlier. Soon she would be meeting with the player and take him out into the fields. He did not seem to be a vicious person, so who knows how he would take to combat, she knew he did not like the idea, but from the sound of it he had not yet been in a fight in this world. Oh well, I guess I'll find out soon, she thought.

"Come on Blaze" she called down at her little familiar, breaking into a jog, "if we don't hurry we're going to be late". As she ran she weaved in and out of the crowd, avoiding NPC's and players alike, not bumping into a single one of them. Arriving in short stead, Allania stopped by the gates of the town and waited. He should be here soon. It would be her second time meeting the inventor, but it will be nice to seem him. He was quiet and shy, but he seemed like a decent person.

Gaster continued his stroll through the city If he was right, it was almost time for Allania's and his meeting. Hoping that he wouldn't be late, he went through the city, taking his time but keeping a slightly hastened pace, making his way to the gates. Eventually, he saw the gates, and began to walk a little faster. He smiled when he saw Allania standing by the gate waiting for him. "Good day, friend." he said as he approached her. "I see you've brought you're little friend along." he said, taking note of the little boar at Allania's feet. Gaster looked up at Allania with a warm smile. "I'm ready when you are."

When she saw Gaster making haste towards her she smiled and waved. She had managed to get there first and only just at that. When he finally got close she responded to his greeting with "it certainly is, and it's good to see you once again" a smile playing upon her face. "Where are my manners?" she asked, smile still in place "this is my familiar, Blaze" picking up the tiny Boar from the ground and hugging him tight "he may be small but he is my friend and one of my greatest companions". She then held out Blaze for Gaster to hold, to see how he would react to this tiny bundle of fur. "So then, what are we going to do in the fields?" she asked, turning her head to the expanse beside her.

Gaster gave a small bow to Blaze, and said "How do you do?" He raised his head and turned his attention to Allania. "He really is quite cute. It's a marvel to have such a close friends." he said with a happy look on his face. Gaster looked up when Allania said she could hold him. He suddenly became very bashful. "Is.. is it really alright to hold him?" he asked, looking at Blaze in her hands. Very carefully, and hesitantly, he took the small boar from her hands and held him carefully in his own, caressing him like a baby. It was then that Gaster heard Allania ask what he had in mind for their adventure through the fields. "I'm not quite sure. I had never really been outside the town much, so I thought it would be a treat to go and see what lies beyond." he said, gently patting Blaze's head.

Allania smiled at the care Gaster seemed to be taking while handling Blaze. It was nice to see. "Well, in the fields, we could do either go gathering, searching about for materials. We could go and fight some monsters. Or we could just stroll about, doing neither. To be honest, I think we should do one of the former two, as they get you active, doing something somewhat productive" she said, looking up as she recounted their options. It was still a nice day out, the sky was somewhat a weird hue of blue, but there was no hint of rain in the air, the clouds that were present were light and fluffy, bright in the sky. It seemed the weather would hold for this trip into the fields.

"I think I would like to go gathering, if that's alright with you." he said, handing Blaze back to Allania. "It may be beneficial for me to obtain some resources for the future." Gaster didn't really know what he'd be able to do with materials, but he was sure he'd learn in due time. After all, he always did, whether it was through researching one of his inventions, or just by finding something new in his daily life. Gaster put his hand into his pocket and fiddled with the odd stone in his pocket. "Maybe we'll find something interesting while we search."

Allania took Blaze back, stroked at his head for a moment, before placing him gently on the ground. "Gathering? Nice choice. Materials are always a useful thing to have in this world, they let you do so much." she said, while looking at him. "Let's go then shall we?" she asked, as she walked out of the gate, heading out into the fields as they had planned. "so then," she called out to him "have you decided upon a profession to pursue in this world, if you're interested in such things. There are a few professions to choose from and obviously each one specialises in doing something different". Recalling all the professions she could have chosen from, and why she chose to be a tailor.

"Ah, yes. Lets." he said, following Allania out into the fields, trying to keep up with her pace. "No, I'm afraid I haven't found a profession that piqued my interest." Gaster paused for a moment. He took a look around, taking in the environment surrounding him. There were a few flowers here and there,  and a marvelous view wherever he looked. He saw a rather decently sized stone. He stared at it for a bit, contemplating the shape and it's size. Then, he took the oddly shaped stone in his pocket, and placed it on top of the stone he was looking at. After another moment or two of staring at the two stones, he turned and continued to follow Allania. "Is there any specific place we need to go to begin gathering?"

"That's fair, not everyone in this world is working hard behind a shop counter, though there are quite a few active shops out there. If you ever find one that takes your fancy I could help you in becoming one. It's just an offer, so up to you" Allania said in response to Gaster's first statement. Allania then watched as Gaster gazed at another rock, before going over and balancing the one he had with him earlier upon it. It was a simple gesture, but it seemed peaceful for some reason, though she could not place the reason why. He then turned and continued to follow, asking a question as he went. "Not really," Allania admitted "You just go around looking for something that can be used in crafting. It could be as simple as a plant that's harvestable, or say a scrap of hide on the floor. You can find stuff most places to be honest, if only you look hard enough".

"Ah, I see." he said, beginning to look around, really for anything at all. He knelt down, running his fingers through the grass. He overturned stones and picked them up, closely examining them to see if they were a mineral, putting them back where he found them when they always weren't. He was about to move on to another area when something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. "Ah, how strange." he said to himself, turning to pick up the object. What he saw was a small fibrous plant. He was no botanist, so he couldn't very well define it, even if he tried, but his inventor's intuition told him it was something he might need. "I found this." he said, turning to Alllania and showing her his discovery.

Allania watched for a short while as he moved about inspecting their surrounding scrupulously. After a short while Allania joined in as well, looking about for anything that could be off use. Gaster seemed to be searching a lot of rocks so Allania decided to search the plants around the place, after all fibers was what she needed whilst weaving her crafts. She had not managed to find anything when Gaster let out in a quiet voice that he had found something, stopping her searching she got up and looked at what he had found, it was clearly a material. "Well done!" she said to him, a smile on her face.

Gaster hid a smile behind his scarf. He was happy to receive praise, but he didn't show it very well. He continued to search the grass and rocks for useful materials. When he didn't find any in the are he was in, he got up and moved to another. Before he began searching, his eyes wandered over to Blaze. Curious, he decided to talk about him for a bit. "How did you meet Blaze?" he asked, beginning to search.

Allania got back to searching, looking around for anything that would be of use to her. It seemed however that this place was picked clean, as after searching thoroughly, investigating each and every plant she was unable to find a material. Giving up Allania headed on over to where Gaster was just in time to hear his question. "Blaze? I met him out in this field somewhere. I had heard from an NPC that if you fed a mob food then there was a small chance you could tame it. So I headed on up to a little diner on the third floor, buying a salad there and headed back down here, I then went in search of a creature I wanted to have as a friend and quickly found Blaze, but he was much larger then, the size of a normal Boar in fact. I chased after him for a while before finding him injured within a thicket. I never found out why he was there, why he had run into the brambles, but I'm glad that he survived".

Gaster passing his hands over small stones hidden in the grass. There were few things of notable mention, and even fewer that seemed like he'd be able to use. Gaster nodded, wanting to hear more. "I see. Have you two had a long time to build a strong relationship?" he asked, palming one of the stones and putting it back dismissively. He hoped that making conversation would pass a decent amount of time while searching.

Once Allania had finished her spiel she got back to search, her hands at all the plants in the vicinity. Each one she looked at, inspecting their stems, their leaves, checking to see if any had potential. Sadly regardless of her scrupulous searching Allania was unable to locate a single plant that could be of use. Allania then stopped her search once again to answer Gaster's query. "Well, we have not been together all that long, much less than a month in fact. However it does feel like a long time since I met him and saved him from whatever it was he was running from" Allania admitted.

Gaster stopped for a moment and smiled at Allania. "I see I hope that I'm able to find a wonderful friend like yours one day. he said, resuming his searching. "Have you ever been nervous about anything?" he asked, pausing to watch a lady bug on a blade of grass. "So nervous that you couldn't speak or do anything?" Gaster Pulled his attention away from the lady bug and moved it towards Allania, awaiting an answer, his hands still blindly searching for anything they might find.

Allania was once again searching, idly sifting through the plants within the area. Her attention was elsewhere, trying to focus on what Gaster was saying.  "I hope so too, having a familiar is really nice. As even when you have no one your familiar will still be there, supporting you. Rooting for you. And nervous? Well, I have been nervous before. quite a few times to be honest, but that's just human. However I have never been so nervous that I was unable to speak or act. Sadly I cannot relate to something like that" Allania admitted, smiling at Gaster as she spoke.

Gaster's hand connected with something in the grass. He looked, and found two glowing mushrooms. One was a bright orange, and the other a cyan blue. Both of them glowed vibrantly. Afraid he might catch something if he picked them up with his bare hands, Gaster picked some blades grass and tied them around the stems of each mushroom. He plucked them both and put them with the fibrous plant he had found earlier. "I suppose it is human to get nervous from time to time." he said, standing and facing Allania. "Although, I would feel more comfortable if I weren't so nervous all the time."

Allania was searching the plants once again, searching for any plants that could be of use. Allania was running her hand over another plant, one that looked little different from any of the others, except when she did it felt different. Upon closer inspection of the plant bore a material, one she could harvest. Plucking at the fibres of the plant Allania quickly gathered what it had to offer, storing it in her inventory. "Being nervous all the time does not sound like fun, not fun at all. You might be able to get an item that can help with that you know"

"Perhaps." he said, once again scanning the ground for anything he might take with him. "I figure that it's something to get used to. Some people are born brave, while others are born meek. Some people become brave on their own, and others deal with their shy nature. I am of that sort, but..." Gaster crouched down and hugged his knees. He lifted a flower, examining its form. "It's not so bad." he finished, smiling to himself. He may have been shy and very reserved whenever he met a new person, but he was happy to be who he was. And he was content with that fact.
