[PP-F5] Alchemy Hunt

Recommended Posts

Keith sat beneath a tree on a warm morning. The sun had just peaked through the clouds and created sparks on the horizon, dancing with brilliant colors that ranged from purple to red. He blew away a lady bug that flew near his face and he stood up, making a long yawn cracked his back. "Gee... Sure is nothing to do today..." He said as he leaned against the tree.

Swift was walking a trail until she saw Keith in the distance, hoping she would go unnoticed with her pathetic stealth skills, she slowly crept in until she heard Keith.

Gee, there sure us nothing to do today.

She one he discovered her. "Seriously? How'd you know I was there?" she said as she now walked normal towards him standing next to the body half propped against the tree.

Keith blushed a little and looked over to the woods. "Alright! Lets go!" Keith and Swift began to go to the woods and eventually the sky was no longer visible under all the branches of the trees. Keith looked around as they came to a stop. "Any alchemy ingredients here?"

Swift looked about the trees and thickets around her until and saw something. There was a small flower that had a blue glow to it. Swift unsuspectingly pulled the plant to hear some sort of click. The plant was called Lunar Crest Tulip. It was described as: A flower that possesses the ability to almost see through the dark. She turned towards Keith and told him she got something, but had no clue what it does yet. Off in the distance, even Swift heard a rustle in the thickets. Swift drew her sword and stood ready to watch what it was.

Keith drew his sword and ran over next to her. "I'm going to move the bush, if something comes out, attack it." He pulled aside the bush and nothing was there. Keith looked around and sighed. "Guess it was our imagi-" he stopped as something caught his eye. A few hundred feet away, stood a tall, raggy creature. It wore shreds of what might have been clothing and could only be told by that much. Except, it's eyes. It had two dark gaping sockets, both empty, and void of life. It just stood there, watching them. It had no crystal above its head, so it wasn't a creature, player, or Npc. It had no lips, exposing it brown, gnarled teeth that were forced into a smile, as it kept staring at the two players. Keith grabbed Swift's arm gently and shook her. "We need to get out of these woods. Now."

Swift felt her arm being ripped quickly. Almost dropping her sword, she caught it with her other hand by the handle and managed to sheath it again. Now pulling her arm away, knowing to keep running she continued. What was such a thing? Not an NPC, Player, or anything. How could this be? Swift was so confused at this. She thought that everything in this game was coded to be a part of the system. Perhaps it wasn't something part of the game, but a maybe some sort of, strangeness. "Keith! What is this thing?" she yelled ahead of her, following every one of Keith's motions trying to keep up as much as she can. The menacing "object" was coming in closer and closer with every footstep. Swift was hardly able to continue running, as she was used to fighting, and going on, not running away. Swift nearly tripped over her foot until a branch slashed at her arm. It hurt, stung. Before being slashed by the branch, she had almost forgotten what it was like to be injured in this game. Like reality, it hurt.

Keith stopped and ran back to Swift, trying to help her up. "Swift! are you alright?" He looked up to where they had first seen the creature and it was gone. He looked behind them and saw it standing closer to them than before, it was standing exactly in the direction they were running to. Now that it was closer, it's details could be told easier. It had rotted, brown skin cling to its body, as it was wearing filthy rags for clothing. In addition to its terrifying face, it looked as though it had taken a knife and made its mouth larger, by carving its smile to the cheekbones. It's skin was peeling and flaking in places, and Keith could see these all perfectly, as it stood there, smiling and staring at them. Keith stood and pulled Swift along as he ran from it.

She looked at the creature. No, thing. And couldn't move. The look struck fear into her. Her title was Swift the Fearless, but this was unable to be described. Swift couldn't have made it away from the creature, thing, had it not been for Keith who pulled her. She couldn't really focus anymore. The look it gave, put a grim picture in her mind. That smile... it reminded her of her father, in the real world. Swift now running behind Keith, still terrified, began to shed a tear which rolled down her cheek. It fell off and hit the ground. She looked behind her and the creature was gone. Where did it go? "Keith it disappeared again!" she pointed out as Keith continued to run forward.

Keith kept running and felt his heart pound in his chest and it felt like his throat was being cut from the inside as he wheezed to keep running. He looked to his left and saw the thing standing amongst the trees, watching them run with his horrific smile carved onto his face. Keith kept running and he saw a small wood cabin in a tiny clearing Keith pulled Swift into it and slammed the door shut, locking it behind him. He slid down with his back still against the door and he put his face in his hands. "What is that thing?"

Swift was breathing heavy from exhaustion from an unexpected sprint. I don't know, whatever it is, it wants something from use. Just don't know what. Swift looked around her surroundings to try and find the beast. She closed her eyes to recollect her composure. Swift looked at Keith with stern and focused eyes now as she grabbed the hilt of her sword.

Keith looked back at her as she gripped the sword. "...What are you planning to do..?" He asked, knowing full well that escape was not going to be easily done at this point. The thing had been playing with them, taunting them. It could have killed them anytime it wanted. It holding back.
