[SP-F6] Here Kitty Kitty... <<Deforestation>> (Completed)

Recommended Posts

Hikoru breathed as he appeared on the 6th floor. He had heard of a new Quest that seemed easy enough. He went and saw some amazon woman at the town square of the 6th floor main town, and they we're pleading for help. He went over and quickly accepted the quest, avoiding to look at the girls for too long. He was a soon-to-be married man after all. He sighed and started to head towards the woods where the quest was to be held. He sighed as he started to look around at the forest, and saw that the trees grew tall, and looked stronger than anything he had seen in the real world. But as he wandered farther into the woods, he could start to smell smoke, as if something was burning. He followed the smell and saw that there was a tiger in the middle of the field. he smiled and gripped out his dagger

"This is way too easy..." He said with a small smile on his lips.

Hikoru breathed and leapt at the Tiger. It turned to face him, and faced it's death head on. Hikoru let on a flurry of attacks as he spun in the air, landing hit after hit onto the foe. He landed on the other side of the burning hole as it burst into nothing but pixels. He smiled as the quest was already done, and he had a lot of time on his hands. He sighed and went to where the creature was, and picked up the loot, which was a potion that read <<Tiger's Rage>>. He smiled and pocketed it for now. He would look more into it later on, but for now, he had to occupy himself

"Yeah, too easy." He said with a small laugh

Hikoru sighed and waited for his energy to replenish before he did anything else. He was exhausted from his one move, and he needed a moment before he felt he would be ready to do anything else. He sighed and sat down in the ashes and soot from the Tiger and waited for the bar to rise slowly. He found himself staring at the sky for awhile, and thought about a lot of things. His friends, family, everyone both on the outside world and here. He thought of Ariel and how he wondered if he would ever get to meet her on the outside world. Same with Oikawa and Jomei and Calrex and.... Dom. The thought of his face flashed before his eyes, and immediately he felt tears start to form. His good friend, no, one of his best friends in this game, was gone. Maybe Dom didn't see him as a best friend, but Hikoru had grown to trust the player immensely.

"Dom... why did it have to be you, why not me?..." he whispered to himself as he curled up into a ball, tears starting to streak down his cheeks

Hikoru cried, because that was all he could do. He sat in the ashed and soot and wept over his friend's death. Azide, whom he had been friends with for so long now. Although he had lost contact with him, he still knew that he and him we're friends to the unexpecting end. He held back a sob for a moment, trying to regain control of his composure, but he couldn't. He sobbed more, and cried out in agony. His friend Azide was his comrade, his brother, his friend, his mentor, everything that a person could be he was, and there was no way to bring him back

"Azide... I'm sorry...." He sobbed through his tears, he chocked for a moment, then cried even more "I'll find him brother... i'll find Xanatos... and told him you fought valiantly..." He promised again. The day he died he screamed it, but it was through pain. This time, he meant it earnestly, sincerely, and most of all, it was a promise he now couldn't break

Hikoru continued to sob. Soon the face of Zelrius popped into his mind. He hadn't known this player as well as he had known the other two players, but he was a friend all the same. The player seemed very cold, but he knew from a few friends that he had a warm heart, you just had to find it. He was the self proclaimed Hero of Aincrad, and he agreed with the title. Although he had his ups and downs, the player would always be held as one of the pivots in the SAO History. He sobbed and punched the ground

"Zel... your bravery will not go unavenged. We will make it out of here, and your names will be on all of our hearts..." He said with a solemn tone. He felt himself gaining control, finally able to let go of all the sorrow and anger he had pent up inside. He felt... different. Broken, hollow, and a bit sad... but he felt stronger now, not afraid to continue moving forward. He stood and stared at the sky. He saw that it was about mid-day, and he still had a long time until night fell and he would return home to sleep. He sighed and decided to search for materials for awhile to get rid of any access thoughts that still plagued his mind

Hikoru stood and searched around the soot quickly, to see if he could find anything that may have been slightly burnt or survived through the flames. But as he looked, he realized it was pointless, if anything survived through the fire, he would have seen it by now, but everything was destroyed by the tiger's fire, and it's just how it was. There was nothing in this area, and he should have known that right off the bat. He sighed and moved on from where he was looking, knowing there was no way he could find something here.

Hikoru moved into the wilderness to see if he could find anything. He sighed and breathed deeply, doing his best to ignore his empty heart, and focus on the task at hand. He wanted to make sure he had enough mats for awhile, and he didn't want to have to fight anything to get them. He sighed and went down low to the ground, and saw something out of the corner of his eye. He looked to see a small diamond on the ground. It was unexpected, but it could have been caused by the pressure of the fire and falling logs, but he wasn't sure. He picked it up, and expected to smile, but no feeling of joy or happiness came across his face, just a bland look. He sighed, this wasn't helping, but he knew he had to keep going

Hikoru continued to look around to see if he could find anything around him. The forest only seemed to grow more eerie as time passed, and he wasn't a fan of it. He liked things to be jolly, happy, joyous. But now, everything seemed... off... Like everything had lost it's colorful shades of yellow and red, and we're replaced with a green or gray, and he hated it. He breathed and did his best to focus on finding something, but he couldn't, no matter how much he tried. He sat down and grit his teeth, frustrated with how his mind was at the moment, and he wished he could change it, but he knew he couldn't

Hikoru found himself staring at the sky once more. He didn't know why he felt so different, as he couldn't explain it. It just... happened. After he had released himself of his sorrows, his guilt, his pain, everything seemed to melt away. He couldn't explain it, nor could he understand it. It was as if everything he had come to love had just melted away, leaving his heart nothing but a cold and hardened part of his body. He stared up at the sky longer, until he couldn't stare anymore. He couldn't stay here and do nothing, he had to occupy himself as best he could, but how, he didn't know, he would just have to figure it out

Hikoru suddenly noticed a slight squirming coming from the inside of his jacket. He opened it up to see a small and familiar face pop out of his inside pocket. His familiar, Sutetchi, soon came out of the pocket, weary and groggy from sleeping for so long, and hopped onto Hikoru's stomach. Hikoru smiled as the familiar looked around in curiosity, seeing what was around him to explore. But after a moment or two, Hikoru's smile faded. Even his familiar couldn't seem to make him cheer up for much longer than a few minutes. He sighed and dropped his head back to the floor

"Great..." He said with an exasperated sigh. His familiar came over and nuzzled against his neck. He gave the ferret a small scratch under the chin and sighed again "What am I gonna do bud?..." He asked him, as if he was expecting an answer

Hikoru picked up his Familiar and set him onto his shoulder. He couldn't stay out here, not today. He needed to go into town and do his best to enjoy his day. He continued out to where he thought town was, and soon appeared there. He didn't know what to do in town, so he just decided to walk around for awhile. There wasn't much in this small town, but he knew that he would find something eventually. He looked at his familiar on his shoulder

"What do you think we should do bud?" He asked his familiar, scratching his chin lightly. He sighed and continued to walk around, not really able to do much more than that

Hikoru sighed and just decided to go to the bar, as he didn't have much else to do. He walked in, and saw a few players strewn through the place here and there. It was a quaint little place, with wooden walls and portraits and drawings of creatures, and a small chandelier fitted with candles hung from the ceiling. He sighed and looked around to see that most of the furniture was made of wood, probably made from the trees just outside of town. He sat down at the bar, and saw as his familiar squeaked and crawled down his arm onto the counter, looking around for a minute. He whistled quickly and quietly, and the familiar returned, and brushed up against his neck

"What am I going to do with you..." He said with a small sigh

Hikoru looked at the barman, and gave him a nod. The bartender came over and asked for what he wanted to drink. His HUD popped up, and soon a list of drinks appeared before him. He scrolled through as the NPC looked around at the other players as he waited for him to decide. Hikoru sighed and scrolled until he found something that seemed to suit him, and he clicked it. The bartender nodded, and went to go make the drink. He sighed and rested his head on the counter. Sutetchi came and put his paws onto Hikoru's head, then soon climbed on top of his head. Hikoru laughed slightly

"What are you doing Stitch?..." He asked the ferret. he picked him up and set him on the counter, then looked up at him. The ferret came over and nuzzled against his cheek. He felt a small smile again, and pet the familiar's head

Hikoru yawned and waited for his drink to appear. He played with Sutetchi for a little longer and looked around at the Pub, enjoying it's quaint feel. He looked to see that the few players that we're there had seemed to multiply. He sighed and turned back to his Familiar, and saw the bartender coming towards him. He gave a small smile and scratched his chin, then sat up and waited for the bartender. He set down his drink and he gave him a nod, then took a small drink of it. He smiled and sighed, exactly what he needed. He turned to Sutetchi and gave him a bit of it. The familiar took a small sip, then fell. He laughed, for it must have been too much for him. He gave a small sigh and continued to take a drink, and waited for the time to pass by

Hikoru finished his drink and everything seemed to slow down for him. He sighed and enjoyed the feeling of a bit of control at the moment. It gave him time to think for a minute, and he breathed. His friends really did die, didn't they? They just, worked so hard, trained so much, gained so much SP, only to be killed so easily by only a few players. He grit his teeth and gripped his pant leg tightly, angered by the utter name of that player "Opal". He hated her, despised her, and he knew that he would get back at her for what she did. He vowed to himself that one day, he would fight her, and defeat her easily. But for now, he had to get stronger, faster, more powerful than every before. He would have to finish up the two other quests that we're left, then continue on from there. He knew he could solo them easily, but it would help other players if he tagged along, and who knows, maybe even join a friend. He sighed and rubbed his eyes, exhausted from the day of fighting, searching, crying, and everything else. But he knew the day wasn't over, and he had to stay up for just a bit longer

Hikoru stood up from the bar, and gave a small nod to the bartender. He left a small tip, then whistled and held out his arm, and Sutetchi climbed up his arm and rested onto his shoulder. His familiar seemed to notice how tired he was, because it kept rubbing against his neck and almost purring against him, telling him he wanted to go home. Hikoru just sighed and pet his head, knowing that he couldn't sleep yet. He had to stay awake for a little longer, until he knew he couldn't go forward anymore. He yawned and went out the door, looking at the now setting sun. The day was almost up, but there was still time to go material gathering for a little while longer. He sighed and went back out into the field to finish up the day with some material gathering.

Hikoru sighed and continued into the woods, after changing his necklace, he sighed and continued forward, looking for any material. He knew that his old necklace he now wore would give him some more luck, but only time would tell. He sighed and started to look around, seeing if he could find anything that could be useful for his shop. But as he looked around, he couldn't really find anything good or useful. He sighed and yawned, and got up and decided to keep looking. He knew he would get lucky eventually, he would just have to be patient and see when he would find a new Material, which he didn't know when that was

Hikoru continued to look for materials and items. He felt Sutetchi fall off his shoulder, and he looked to see that the familiar was searching around as well. He smiled a bit and sighed, feeling his flatline mouth appear again as he continued to search. He heard a small squeak and turned to see that his familiar had found something. He came over to see that there was a small crystal in the ground. He smiled and pet his familiar's head slightly and picked up the material and placed it into his pack

"There we go, another one." He said calmly. He looked to watch Sutetchi continue to look for materials. and he turned to do the same

Hikoru did his best to look around and find materials, but he couldn't seem to see anything. He yawned and looked to see that the sun was setting, and he knew that he had to start heading back. He whistled, and soon Sutetchi came scuttling back in the dark grass, and Hikoru lowered his arm to the ground to watch and feel the small familiar crawl onto his shoulders. He smiled and turned back to where he had come from, and started to make his way back into town. He knew he would make it before it grew dark, but he would just have to wait and see.

Hikoru sighed and was about to walk off, when he noticed something by a tree. He turned to see a tree that was tilting next to a small hill, but something was off about it. He looked to see that it had a small opening. He smiled and held a fist up in the air. He had found a Sub-Dungeon, and it was all his for the taking. He gave a small smile and sighed, entering into the small dungeon. He was so estatic that he could have squealed like a small girl. He sighed and waited for his eyes to adjust to the darkened room, and sighed as he knew it would take a minute
