Zandra streatched her amrs high in the air as she sat up in her and Jomeis bed in their very own beach house, on floor sixteen. She jawned so huge her jaw almost dropped to the ground. Then she looked beside her. There, the irishman she loved of whole her heart, that she was going t merry was snoozing. Zandra smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek.''Good morning sweetheart.'' she whispered. Thou not loud enough to wake him. That wasnt her intention either. Since today she had some personal business to take care of. She threw her legs over the edge of the bed and she shivered when the feets touch the cold floor.

She pushed herself out of bed and started to walk towards the bathromm. She still had hard to believe that she and Jomei realy had their own house. She glanced over her shoulder at the sleeping man. And she was the only one to had paid for it. She was almost broke by now, but had been worth it. Since now she also had all the special furniture that can give you some special buffs. And that is paid with money from many, then she means many, hunts to gather money. Also from her hunts to get materials, to birdswith one rock have it been. Thou she probably had the worst weapon to make effective hunting trips. But, there wasnt much to do about that by now.

But if there ever would the possibility to change your weapon skill, then she would definitely do it. Thou she didnt knew what to change to. She entered the bathroom and stepped into the shower. There she unequipped her underwear and turned on the water. Maybe she would go for greatsword, to have access to the most powerful aoe in the game. Since that would make her grinding trips so much more effective. But the downside with that, was that she wouldnt be able to wield a shield. And she had just started to rank up a build that needed to use a shield. She actually wanted to have the katana. But there was the same trouble there as well, no shield.

If she remembered right, the best one handed weapon for aoe attacks was the curved sword. But she had never been a very big fan of sabers and the like. The weapons that fell into the group of curved swords. There also was the rapier that was tempting. Thou it, just like her current whip, didnt had any very good aoe attack. And its most powerful sword art was actually weaker then Zandras whip. She moved her fingers thru her long, black, wet hair and closed her eyes. She let out a deep sigh.''Zandra, what are you going to do with your virtual life? Youre not a good hunter. Youre not a good dungeon clearer. Youre not a good tank.''

The only thing she actually was good at, was single target damage. And thanks to her pretty high level, she also had quite alot of health that would be in good use to survive the enemies attacks for longer. She didnt had any ranks at all in the searching skill. Oh right, she could heal too. But so far, it havent mattered even a single bit. She putted her hands on the wall the shower was at and leaned on the elbows. Her head fell forward so she looked at the floor. The water from the shower mixed up with the tears that started to leave her eyes.''Im so useless. Im totally useless.'' she said to herself several times before sliding down into sitting position, the shower continueing raining down water on her.

After feeling sorry about herself for half an hour she pushed herself up and turned of the water. Thanks to the program, she made herslef dry without needing to use a towel. Thou she let her hair still be wet, it jsut felt better that way. She then exited the bathroom and entered the bedroom again. The ginger still laid in the bed. Zandra sent a throw-kiss to him before she walked downstair into her alchemy store. When she saw the potion filled shelfs that covered the walls of the big room, she got some memories. She remebred when her store wasnt here, on floor sixteen. But instead it laid a dozen floors down, on four. In the winter wonderland landscape.

Back down at four, in her previous alchemy store, she had been spending countless of hours, brewing different potions and making different crystals. Potion after potion, crystal after crystal, had left her workbench and been placed on the shelfs. And now, almost a year later. She had almost reached the highest rank there is at the moment for alchemists. and even if there was gonna be another rank, Zandra didnt thougth she would aim to reach it. She had already worked enough in her opinion to be rewarded the highest ranked alchemist in Aincrad. And she would probably be that for many months, if maybe even years to come. Since there didnt seemed to be anyone else as eager as she was.

Since she loved her proffession and didnt realy saw it like job but more like a hobby, she had been advancing without spending days of boredom infront of the workbench just because she had to. Also, now she didnt made brewing because she needed money or materials. Since from only one short day of hunting, she would gather same amount of money that she would from sixty perfect potions if seling them for fivehundred col each. nd none would be interested in paying more then that. Thou she didnt sell her items for Col since that wsa so easy for her to get. Thou her material farming was realy, realy slow.

But she sold them for a material price that made her go around, not much more then that. Maybe she even got back. Well well, in the future she was gonna be in more need of materials copared to now. When she would visit her very own personal merchant Anise, that was the leader of the black market at floor seven. Since a new enchantment had been released that protected just as good as amrour mitigation as normal armour as well as beeing thorns, she just couldnt step back from getting it. Thou it would be a waste to do it now, since soon theyd probably unlock floor twentyone and tier three equipment. Then even that kind of item wouldnt be worth it, since it would be tier two.

But that would also give her more time to get materials so she could have more chances to upgrade it. She looked forward to getting a armour piece with unique enchantments. She didnt thougth anyone that didnt had demonic items had it yet. And to be first with something was something that Zandra realy liked. It made her feel like she actually was someone. That she was important and special. That was one of the reasons why she maxed out the first aid healing skill and got the mod that belonged to it as quick as she could. And as far as she knew, there is only two other players that had achieved that as well. Thou one of them have retired and not been seen for a long time. The other, her special friend Ebony, got killed at the last boss fight.

Well yes, about boss fight, that was actually the reason she was gonna head out today. The next boss fight was approaching, and Zandra wasnt that far from hitting level fifty. So if she worked hard enough, she would hopefully hit fifty before the fight starts, and that gonna make her top three in high level players she thougth. But she couldnt be sure, since after the two on the top, Calrex and Takao, most of the front liners was at level fortyfive to fifty. Or was there anyone that was level fifty yet? Well, the boss fight will tell that. Anyway, she had decided that she shall be one of them at least. But for that she needed eight more skill points.

And todays goal was to make a quest she havent done yet. The last one of the three that got released not that long ago. She had been asking alot of players if they would be interested in joining her, but noone had wanted to. So today she decided to go for it alone. She grabbed her whip and walked out thru the door and went to floor seven. Sinc eit was at floor seven she was gonna kill a flying, two-headed serpent. The quest Case of Wurms was the next thing that was on her 'todo'-list. She entered the settlement and went for the warp plaza where she warped down nine floors to seven. Here she exited the gate and immediatly headed out from the town.

It didnt took long for Zandra to find the area where it was possible for the monster to spawn. She took a harder grip on her chain whip. And just as she thougt, five minutes later the boss exploded out of the sand a hundred meters infront of her. Zandra smirked and charged up he most powerful sword art.''Here I come little piece of [censored].'' Zandra said and when the swoord art was ready, she exploded when activating her charge skill. The sword art got activated and the chain flew thru the air, twirling around the snakes neck. When it was a hard enough grip, Zandra pulled the handle with all her force. The snake flew thru the air and crashed down on the ground. Then Zandra pulled it the other way and made him slam down in the ground again. This was enough to reduce his damage to zero and the serpent exploded from a single attack of the noirette.

Zandra raised her eyebrows when she saw the snake disapear from a single attack from her side.''Hmm... Just like the monkey king and that forest tiger, I still one shot enemies. Wonder if there ever gonna be an opponent I dont kill by one-shots that isnt floor or event bosses. Probably, but it may be a few floors left. And if I cant single shot kill them, are they gonna be able to damage me any serious before they die. As long as I have enough energy I should be fine thou.'' she said and moved her armoured hand thru her hair, moving the black straws out of her face, but as always, some of it fell back down to cover one of her eyes.

  • 3 weeks later...

Zandra let out a sigh. A warm smile was on her lips. Maybe she could onehit kill many of the bosses. But that also meant she can protect her friends and loved ones better. To get rid of the threat before it can harm them. That is a realy good thing. Also, if they are to strong to be oneshotted, she could always let out a howl, gaining their attention so her friends wasnt attacked. She was actually turning out to be a pretty strong and high leveled player. It wasnt many days left to the seventeenth floor boss fight. To take out an army of three-hundred mobs, and the boss. She had signed up for the quest, but she was starting to think of she realy had done the right thing. She didnt wanted to die.

It was because of that she had taken this quest. Since the skill point reward was so big, this was perfect. She was at the moment working to increase her survivability more by ranking up her block skill. When she grandmasters it, as well as her armour skill, she would be close to twohundred damage mitigation. A smile appeared on her lips. Only a glass canon player with dagger or whip would be able to take her down with one hit. If even that."Hehe." She giggled to herself. But she still had a long way to go to reach that. But after this quest, she would at least be able to increase her survivability a little bit for the boss fight.

On second thought, she had been going thru several builds by now. She had maxed the healing abilities that was available at the moment. Then, she didnt knew what to go with. So she decided to become a glass canon, berserk healer since she had the highest damagedealing weapon, the whip that shared its place with the dagger. She had almost maxed out the damage when she changed her mind and decided to go for the tank build. The few steps left to max out damage costed way to many skill points. She also felt better to be an more kind of alrounder. Thout, the thing she lacked that thenfrontliners had, was the searching skill. But she had decided to go for that when she had became satisfied with her combat build.

Well well, the quest was completed and Zandra was done here. So she turned around and started heading back home, home to her and Jomeis beachhouse. But what should she do when she gets home? It was pretty fun to adventure, and it was quite some time since she was materiam or money grinding. Happily thou, both Manta Gaul payed alot for the demonic dagger Zandra got as a last hit reward as well as Ssendoms payment. Thanks to the berserker, Zandra had been able to not only reach master rank alchemist, but could also afford a house to herself and Jomei. Most player got houses on floor eöeven where the sheepest available ones was. Thou she and Jomei waited until a floor that would be fun to live on become unlocked. And it was a realy good choice and worth the extra 50,000 Col it costed.

She looked down on her hands during her walk back to the main settlement. She looked down at a pair of hands that had done so much. And just like in real life, she had done alot of it all alone. What she thougth was the reason that other players worked to get stronger was because they didnt wanted to die. Or to protect the loved ones from dying. Maybe to get respect and be able to brag. Thou herself, none of that was the reason. The reason she worked so hard was because she wanted to be someone. Be special. Be special so other peoples would see her and be with her. She wanted to have friends, real friends. She had been having good friends back in the real world. But only digital ones. Her guildmates in the videogames she played so much.

Whithout realising it, Zandras legs had taken her back to the warp plaza of floor seven."Oh!" She said when waking from her thougths and saw where she was. Without a second thougth she walked into the teleporter. A shine surronded her and when it faded away she was nine floors above. She stepped out of the teleportation door and headed away from the settlement. She and Jomei had decided to have the house outside the safe zone. That way they would get more privacy since low leveled ones wouldnt risk of engaging mobs on this floor. Here the weak mo s would be a challange harder then elites and champions lower down. Herself she had spent hours and days to get a reputation which made the creatures around her house a oiding her. She walks thru the enntrance to the house."Honey! Im home!" She shouted and closed the door.
