[SP-F6] <<Calming the Soul>>

Recommended Posts

Hikoru breathed as he leapt in and out through the shadows, breathing heavily and doing his best to run, which was the only thing he was good at nowadays. he needed to beat this. He needed to conquer himself. He had killed a man in cold blood, all for the ring that he held in his inventory, killing the life of another for a few bits of coding. What had he turned into? A monster, thats what. He couldn't look his Fiancee in the eyes anymore, now that he had an orange crystal above him, something that he couldn't run from. He had this Quest booked for a time ago, because he thought he was fine. But he was wrong, horribly, horribly wrong. His demons got the better of him, and he felt his sins crawling on his shoulders. He knew he had to beat this once and for all, and try to be Hik again, not Uro, but Hik.

Hikoru breathed until he was finally within the area of the Quest. He breathed and fell to his hands and knees, covered in sweat and gasping for breath. After he had awoke in the camp, he had awoken, thinking it had all been a dream, or he had been knocked out and been forgotten by Lowe. That was, until he looked at his finger, where the ring had taken its place. He freaked out, immediently running and trying to get into town, but to no avail as a barrier stopped him from entering. He soon found an outside portal and took it to the 6th floor, where he had accepted the quest and came to where he is now. He breathed and moved forward, ready to fight whatever he had to, knowing that this Quest would be on the harder scale of things. He breathed and went to the waterfall, where he went and stood in the water, his shoes dissapearing into pixels and where his bare feet felt the cool water. he stared at the waterfall, and realised that he had to do this, or else he would be lost within his own mind.

Hikoru breathed and sat down underneath the waterfall, the water pouring onto his head and down his body until it reached the water down below. He breathed and closed his eyes, letting the rushing water be the only thing he heard from his ears, the world growing faint and closing his eyes, letting the darkness of his mind consume him. He felt the rushing of the water start to die down in noise, until he was all alone. He could still feel the water on his nose as he breathed, dripping down past his mouth back to the small gathering of water which he was sitting in. He breathed and soon felt the feeling of the water dissappear from his feeling, until he was in a state of total calm, soon appearing in a room that was black to him, his eyes still closed. Then, when he felt ready, he opened his eyes

He opened his eyes to see a room filled with nothing but, well, shadows. It felt mysterious, but it felt at home to him for some odd reason. Like he belonged there, that it was his home. He just shrugged it off and started to look around, noticing four doors, each of which had their own look. One had red eyes, and seemed to be the smallest door out of all of them. the one next to it seemed to be brown, like a nest of some sorts, which gave him an uneasy feeling in his gut. The one nest to it held a lion with a crown, an all too familiar look that he had come to see on his armor. The last door however, didn't seem to have anything special about it at all. But it seemed untouchable, like he couldn't start with that door. Hikoru breathed and decided to go to the first door, the one with the red eyes and reached for the handle, turning it and opening the door slowly.

As he turned the door, everything went black for a moment, then he appeared at the most recent boss fight. He looked around, confused and a bit shocked at what had happened. But soon, he remembered what this was. The day that his friend and comrade, Ssendom had died, and he knew exactly how it was going to go down. Oikawa would strike and kill Zelrius, then Opal would spring from out of nowhere and kill Ssendom, walking away as if nothing had ever happened. He breathed and charged forward, knocking the large player out of the way as Oikawa killed Zelrius beside him. Dom looked wide eyed at Hikoru, and stood up

"What the hell???" He asked. Hikoru, with tears in his eyes, yelled at the player "Stay down! Trust me on this!" He said, tears streaming down his face. The player gave him a look and stood anyways, gripping his dagger "Just... stay down..." He said, and soon Opal appeared, striking Dom and killing him in an instant. Hikoru tried to move in the way, but she was too fast. Hikoru screamed in rage, and charged forward towards her.

Hikoru shot forward and stuck Opal in the back, stabbing her three times and looking her as she died. She just gave a smile and soon dissipated into crystals. He had killed her easily, but at what cost? Although she was an evil person, she was still a person, with family and friends on the outside. There was no point in killing her, it would only make him just as bad as her. He breathed and fell to his knees, his dagger dropping out of his grip as the room pixelated around him, turning back into the shadows that his mind has become. He felt tears in his eyes, and sobbed quietly to himself, finally grieving over his brother in arms, and getting the remorse out of him. He took a few more moments, then soon finished crying, standing and grabbing his dagger off of the ground, looking at the remaining three doors that had yet to be opened

Hikoru breathed and continued forward, moving towards the second door, which seemed to be the makings of a nest. He felt it, and it in fact felt like a nest in itself. Something about it made his stomach weak, made him feel powerless. He opened it slowly, and appeared in a nest, but not just any nest. He was there with Ariel, in a boss room that was all too familiar. He looked over the edge of the nest and saw Rohk attacking, and he knew exactly what was happening. Everything seemed to slowdown as the creature used it's AoE, and struck Azide, turning him into pixels. He screamed, the same day as he did. But this time, there wasn't anything stopping him. He had full power of this situation, and he knew that he could make a difference, so no one else would be taken out in this fight. Although he knew the outcome, that they would all survive, he would make a difference. Rohk had seemingly low health, and he knew what to do, in a flash, he jumped, Ariel screaming behind him as he did so, and he jumped for the giant bird

Hikoru screamed and jumped on top of the bird, dealing enough damage to finish it off, landing on the ground with a roll as the bird squawked in pain, and soon turned to pixels. Everyone cheered around him, saying good job. But he looked to where Azide had stood, and saw a long dagger. He came over and picked it up, it soon pixelating in his hand to nothing but code. He felt tears, but none fell. He had come to terms with Azide dying long ago, but he was mad that he couldn't do anything to the giant bird. But now, he had finally felt like he had done something to it, and beaten it easily. He breathed and watched as the room pixelated again. Ariel, the nest, everything was soon gone, and he looked to see two remaining doors. The last one still seemed untouchable, so he knew the next one he had to enter was the Crowned Lion door.

Hikoru opened his eyes after a large light emerged from the room to see that they were on a level that he hadn't ever seen before. He didn't know where we was at all, but he knew something was off. Then, he heard the scream. He listened to the echoes, and found where the screaming had originated from, and sprinted over, running as fast as he could. He looked to see a PK'er attacking Ari, his orange crystal over his head as he held his sword high over his head. Ari was on low, low health, and she had bleed and paralysis on her and had no way of defending herself. Hikoru stood in shock, unable to move. She was... she was going to die, in front of his eyes. He didn't know how to react, his mind was melting at the sight, unable to comprehend it. He breathed and moved his arm slowly to his dagger. He knew he had to kill this PK'er, before he killed Ariel. He breathed and stood. He hadn't been noticed, it was only the two of them, and he knew that he could easily finish the player off. He breathed and went out into a full-on sprint, knowing that he couldn't watch the love of his life die, and he knew that he wouldn't.

Hikoru breathed and charged, attacking the player head on and stabbing him in the back. He screamed and watched as he turned around, and soon saw what he couldn't believe. He saw himself, wide-eyed and with a large smile on his face. This was the Hikoru that had killed the NPC, that had earned him this Orange cursor that was above his head. It just laughed at him, and spit in his face as he pixelated before him. He went over and looked at Ariel, who's health was too low to be saved. the bleed damage would finish her off, and there was nothing he could do. In her last moment's, he held her in his arms, crying onto her cheeks. She new her time had come, and pulled him in for one last kiss, then she pulled away and smiled, closing her eyes and pixelating into nothing. This was the reason he took his quest. He didn't trust his mind anymore, and he knew he had to change before something like this happened again. He breathed and looked as the scene around him pixelated back into darkness. He breathed and looked at the final door, which had not phased into something tangible, and he knew that he was almost done.

Hikoru breathed and stood there for a moment. He didn't know what to do. He could easily go through the door and defeat whatever was there, bu something was holding him back from it. He breathed and put his hand on the doorknob, and instantly recoiled it as it was cold, ice cold. Something he wasn't a big fan of. He felt a small shudder go through him as he heard a low chuckle come from the other side of the door. He couldn't make it out, but the voice was familiar. He breathed and placed his hand on the doorknob, the cold spreading through his whole body from the doorknob, and he grit his teeth as he turned it slowly, opening it and the inside hitting him with a breath-stealing wall of ice and snow. He breathed and covered his eyes, and when he opened them, he was in a dark room. Darker than the shadows of his mind had been, and he knew that it didn't feel right. He looked around, and only saw one lone figure. He couldn't tell what it was from this distance, so he took a hesitant step forward, going to see his final opponent, whatever it was to be.

Hikoru moved forward slowly, unsure of what it was. He breathed and continued forward, not sure of what to make of this character. He couldn't make him or her out, and he was quite scared of what it was. He breathed and looked as close as he could, but he couldn't make it out. He sighed and wished he had spent more into his Search skill, but for now he couldn't make it out. Suddenly, the figure stood up straight, changing from it's drawn in position. It seemed to be much shorter than Hikoru, although he wasn't that tall himself. He breathed and stepped forward, looking at the lone figure with stone eyes

"Who are you?" He called out, putting his hand on his dagger. The figure just chuckled, a low, low chuckle. It turned and faced him, revealing a young boy, of only small stature and eyes that showed innocence. But when you look closely, the looks of pure hatred was within. Hikoru lost his breath as he recognized the young man to be his younger brother, Jiro

"Hello Naith..." he said, but it wasn't his original voice. It was a deep, deep voice that seemed to make the whole room shake. He breathed as slowly as he could, but to no avail, as he was soon hyperventilating. He fell onto his butt, crawling away as fast as he could

"N-no, it can't be you... You wouldn't... You couldn't..." He said. But the boy just chuckled and took another step

"No, no i'm no your brother... But you know who I am. Think deeply." the boy said. Hikoru recognized that voice now, it was the voice he used with his voice modifier on his old laptop, whenever he would play online so people couldn't recognize him. Hikoru's eyes made contact with the boys, and he knew it

"Urokih... Your actually alive?"

The boy- or Urokih, just chuckled lowly and unsheathed it's rapier from it's side, it growing and forming into a two-handed sword. Hikoru breathed and backed away slowly, until he hit a wall. He looked back and it was the door he entered, but without a doorknob. He breathed and looked around, but there was no way to get out. A low chuckle escaped Urokih's' lips and he placed the sword on his shoulder

"Well look at this... Afraid of me are you? Afraid of becoming me once more? My boy, I was the best thing that ever happened to you. Come, let's become together again, and we can conquer this game, as we had every single other game we've ever played. Let us make this game bow before us..." He said, holding his hand up for him to take. Hikoru stood up slowly, looking at his hand. He wanted to be looked up at, as a player that had immense power. But sadly, he knew that compared to others, he was nothing, nothing but weak with both power and strength. But he knew that he could catch up, he just had to do it in his own time and place. He breathed and shook his head, ignoring the hand. Urokih's face soon turned into a frown, and he lowered his hand "A shame... I suppose i'll have to dispose of you then." And he took his sword into both hands. Hikoru breathed and unsheathed his dagger, prepared to fight.

Both of the players sprinted towards each other at high speeds, and they clashed swords multiple times, blocking each others shots, at a complete standstill. Soon they broke, looking at each other and both breathing heavy. Then, they both went for finishing blows. Urokih raised his sword, aiming for his final strike. But Hikoru was much, much faster and dodged it. With wide eyes, Urokih made eye contact with Hikoru, and with steel eyes, Hikoru held his dagger tightly

"I don't need you, and trust me, I will do just fine here." He said, and used his ultimate attack, Eternal Cyclone. Soon Urokih screamed and soon turned into nothing, exploding into black and white crystals, soon the area faded and he was in the shadows once more. He looked to see a door, but this one wasn't like the others. It had a small sign, saying "Exit". He laughed, out loud as a large smile broke out on his face. He had a way of humor, even with himself. He breathed and continued through it, looking back as everything seemed the way it should be. With a triumphant smile, he turned back to the door and turned the knob, opening the exit to his mind and returning to the normal world.

Hikoru opened his eyes to see the trees surrounding him, and the roar of the waterfall deep in his ears. He had done it. A window was in front of his eyes, and it read that he had completed the quest. He chuckled and stood, his limbs sore and numb from the waterfall cascading over it. He breathed and took a few steps forward, being as careful as he could. He took a step out of the pond, and breathed as he opened his menu and re-equipped his armor. He had made it, and he felt.... better, like he hadn't felt in a long time. He felt at peace, and that was a feeling that he had missed. He felt something move in his clothes, and he freaked out for a moment, he swatted and heard a small squeak emanate from his cloak, and he pulled it back to show a small and familiar furry face. He breathed and fell down on his knees. He hadn't seen Sutetchi in so long, he was brought to tears. He pet the small familiars head and picked him out of the pocket, holding him close.

"S-Sutetchi...." He said, breathing deeply and looking at the small familiar's eyes. The familiar nuzzled up against his neck, and he held him, hugging it tight and crying "I missed you buddy...."

Hikoru breathed and hugged the small creature for a few moments longer, until the small creature squirmed underneath his arms, seeking freedom. Hikoru just gave a small chuckle as he let him down, the ferret moving around and searching the area for anything, but came up empty handed. He breathed and continued forward, unsure of what to do. He had finished the quest quickly, and soon he was done with quite a few hours of daylight to spare. He breathed in deeply and was unsure of what to do next. A Sub-Dungeon was always a choice, but he wasn't sure. He would have to look around the area to see if he could see anything in the immediate area, but he couldn't see anything of the sorts. He sighed and stood, his familiar hearing him move and coming towards him, crawling up his leg onto his shoulder, and he gave a small chuckle and scratched the familiar's chin and sighing happily. He was glad things were starting to go his way, and he couldn't wait to see what was in store for him.

Hikoru breathed and started to search the immediate area. He wasn't sure if a Sub-dungeon would be around here, but he was about to find out. He left the Quest area, the sound of the rushing waterfall dissapearing from his ears as he moved farther into the wilderness. He breathed and started to go through the brush and trees to see if he could find anything. He wasn't sure where to look exactly, as this was his first time looking for a Sub-Dungeon on his own since the last time, which was months ago. He didn't know this floor that well either, so that added to his troubles as well. He needed to start mapping out the floors better, but he didn't find a reason to do it for the lower floors, as they were already passed and the most he did was Quests on those floors. He put these thoughts aside and continued to search

As Hikoru looked around, he realised that things were easy to spot on this floor. He hoped that it would be that easy to look for things, but at this moment he didn't know how well it would work out for him. He sighed and started to go through the shrubbery, searching around and hoping that he could find something. Sutetchi started to search around as well, noticing that his master was looking for something. The small ferret didn't know what, but he would do his best to help him in any way that he could. His master didn't seem scary anymore. He seemed happy, and he seemed like nothing was wrong anymore. He sniffed the air and started to dig around, hoping to find what Hikoru was looking for. Hikoru looked down and pet the small familiars head and smiled happily, happy that he was trying to help. He breathed and continued forward, hoping that he would find what he was looking for.

Hikoru sat and opened his HUD, equipping his ring and looking around. Even with the small bonus, it would help him out immensely in the long run. He gave a small sigh and moved to a new area, hoping to find something new. Nothing in this area it seemed, but he didn't mind. He was looking for a Sub-Dungeon, and that's what he hoped he would get. The extra SP would help in the long run, but for now he just needed to be patient and see what would happen. He searched around the new area in hopes that something new would be found. At the moment, everything seemed ordinary, but as far as he could tell there was a still chance that there was a Sub-Dungeon in the immediate area. He continued to search until he eventually started to tire himself out. But he knew he had to press on, and he continued to search until the sun started to go down.

Hikoru sighed and just gave up. There isn't anything around here that he could find, let alone a Sub-Dungeon. He gave a small sigh and stood up, continuing back onto the road he had strayed off of and went back to the outskirts of town. There weren't many floors with teleporters on the outside of the floors, so he had to climb the stairs. After a few more floors, he appeared at floor 10, his home at the moment, but he now knew that he wouldn't stay here for much longer. But he wanted to make sure that he was stable. He started to scroll through the groups and guilds and saw one that caught his eye. It was a guild that was just starting out, and he saw some names that didn't mean much. And the levels varied, but he knew that there might be a way to prove himself quite easily. But for now, he needed some sleep.
