Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) Itzal was walking the streets of the town of beginnings, using Niger Natio to part the sea of mixed npcs and players like he had last time. He was truly enjoying the effect, especially since he disliked crowds. As he walked he kept an eye out for a very specific player he encountered not too long ago. Her name was Alisa and she was very shy and scared of this death game. When he saw her he knew she would not last without a little push so he had sat down beside her and talked to her. He managed to help her through her first fight but the moment she received a scratch she re entered her shell. When they returned to the safety of the town however she asked him if he could mentor her. Surprised as well as a little nervous at the thought of being in charge of teaching somebody he suggested they start with deciding what she wanted. She told him that she'd like some time to think. She also said she was going to sleep on the road. Sleeping in the grass, or in a meadow he understood. At least that was comfortable nature. But the cobblestone ground? Even he would refuse to sleep there. At least the cave ground was easier with all the dirt and dust to act as a soft area. Not to mention that the cobblestone was uneven, like most medieval towns, which caused stones to push into people on the ground. Still, it was her decision and although he planned to change her mind in the future, he could do nothing about it now. Itzal told her that he would wait until she messaged that she was ready and that's exactly what he did. After receiving her message he came straight here, hoping to find the meeting spot. Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Alisa had made up her mind overnight. She wasn't too much for being a tank, it just didn't suit her. Support would be okay but she just isn't that type of game player. Scout sounded fun but her heart was made up. She wanted to be a damage dealer. Up there on the front lines with the other damage dealers. She smiled lightly...hopefully Itzal won't be mad, he probably wanted to train her to be a scout. She continued down the road she was walking on, until she saw a curious sight. Itzal was standing on the other side of the road, and he hadn't noticed her. A prime opportunity to get the drop on him for some laughs. Smiling to herself she opened up the menu and got to the messaging app. Opening it she clicked on Itzal's name and typed exactly, "Look behinnnd you~ ^^" Of course, as she was typing that, she attempted to sneak up behind Itzal but, she had no stealth skill, it would be pretty obvious if he had a keen eye or ear. Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Itzal hadn't practiced stealth long, but he finally got some experience, so when he saw the message he immediately focused his hearing for anything besides rushed feet or muttering of players and npcs as they avoided him. He heard a distinct giggle and smiled. "Funny Alisa," he said and turned to her with an unseen smile, forgetting again that his hood and mouthpiece were on. "Sleep well?" he asked. The question served him two purposes: Her reaction would tell him if she really did sleep comfortably on the hard, uneven stone panels, and the second was to indicate how he still felt uncomfortable about her sleeping on the stone. It didn't seem right. "So, you made your decision pretty fast I have to admit. Quick thinker, I like that."
Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) She smiled as he turned around, and seemed genuinely happy. Hearing him out her smile falters a bit at the 'sleep well' part. Hearing the last of his conversation, she takes a second then responds. "I slept just..." she pauses for a second, trying to get the right words, "F..fine." she states. No, she didn't really like sleeping on the stones but, she didn't want to take MORE of his money and time. He was already training her, on top of that fact they wouldn’t even be here without his help. She already owed a lot to Itzal… "Ah..I guess I did think it up pretty fast...well..I'm not too good on supporting or tanking. Scouts sounds fun but..I have a picture in my mind about being up their with the frontline..I am so far away from that, but still..." She takes a breath after he longest string of consecutive words yet. Edited August 4, 2016 by Mossino
Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted August 3, 2016 So he was right. She didn't like sleeping on the stony ground. When she mentioned how she liked the idea of scouting but wanted to help the frontlines he was going to reply by telling her be intended to help by locating the bosses when she said she wanted to be a damage dealer. To this he came up with a thought and smiled. "You know, being a scout doesn't mean you scout all the time. Technically we could scout areas for the front lines, provide intelligence as well as strategic advice, then help in the fight, though we should be mindful to avoid receving too much hate otherwise we'd be overwhelmed. Its ok if you don't want to, but if you are interested in that approach stealth skills only take one out of the nine options you have."
Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) She tilted her head and listened to him intently. As he talked her eyes lit up, "Ooo, that sounds great! Sure! Let's do that!" she states excitedly. She could scout out and be the damage dealer she wants to be. That was perfect, the best of both worlds. Of course, she still prefers being up on the frontlines but, scout would give her a chance to relax between those periods. She gives him a light smile, remembering something she had heard about on her way to uh, sleep in an uncomfortable position. "Oh...by the way, I heard there were things called 'professions' in this game? Is that true?" she asks him. She already knew some of the basics, well, at least she guessed there would be like, blacksmith and stuff. The girl is most definitely a teenager, easily overly excited and changes mood really quickly. It was kind of dumb, but funny at the same time. Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Itzal was happy to hear her agree with him. He got a little excited himself and allowed a list of things he personally developed to arise. When she asked about professions in an excited way he nodded. "Yeah there are a few. Lets see, the common ones are blacksmithing tailors and alchemists. Artisans and cooks are second and I song think I've heard of a preformed get though I intend to be one myself. Blacksmiths make armor, weapons and tools while tailors make clothes, light armor and plushes. Artisans make jewelry, figurines and trinkets." his hand subconsciously moved to the verbana bracelet he kept hidden between the gauntlet and sleeve of his right arm. "Cooks make food obviously, and some foods can give a player buffs. Alchemists are popular as most players need potions for healing, MIT, etc. Finally, performers record their songs into crystals that give players buffs, or enemy mobs debuffs." He paused this time to let the information sink in. "So you wanted me to mentor you correct?"
Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) All of these professions...none of them really ticked in her mind except cook. She wanted to cook in real life, but never got to it, too much work. But in here she could enjoy cooking all she wanted AND help people with boosts by it. Ohh, she could run a restaurant and relax by doing that if she wanted to! She was excited again, and all these ideas were nearly visible as her face went blank as she thought. If the frontline battles didn’t work out for her…or ended up scaring her too much, she would fall back on providing meals for the frontline warriors as well as running a restaurant. That’d be really cool actually! His final line brought her back, "A-ah yes! I would like you to! Please! Until I get on my feet and can help! In return I can...pay you and help you with quests and stuff!" OOC- Gonna call you Itzal-senpai from now on, probably. Edited August 4, 2016 by Mossino
Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted August 3, 2016 OOC lol he'd probably ask for just plain senpai if she insists on that rather than Itzal senpai Itzal smiled to her reply and Finally recalled the hood and mouthpiece, drawing them swiftly. "You don't need to repay me, it's my pleasure! I go on a few quests yeah but I'd like to do some with you once we've raised you to a high enough level. Getting a profession requires a non combat quest so we could do that anytime if You,d like. For now though lets get some breakfast shall we?" he led the way to a nearby food place, run by an npc. On the way he began working Out how he'd train her. First they should probably go on a little trip in order to get to know each other better. As they did they could fight a mob or two, giving her time to adjust to the combat mechanics. After that they could begin training in earnest but he could come up with that later. Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) She nodded thoughtfully and followed him to the restaurant. She was rather hungry, and at the mention of food her stomach growls lightly. "A-ah..breakfast sounds great! And I would love to start my profession with you...uhh.." she starts to mutter to herself, though he can still hear it, "What do they call someone in Japanese that teaches you..come on I know this...uh..senpai!" Coming back to her normal speaking voice, "I would love to start my profession with you Itzal-Senpai~" her face contorts into something like the ':3' face. She smiled after stating him that, finding it funny to be honest. Though, she genuinely meant it. Itzal was her trainer now, and was going to help her make it through this game. She doesn’t know how far he will take her but, he deserves all the respect he can get. She grins. How lucky is she to have Itzal walk past yesterday… Edited August 4, 2016 by Mossino
Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted August 3, 2016 It was right before they entered the building she called him Itzal senpai. He looked a bit shocked but He could feel Ulises take great pleasure at hearing those words. He sighed realizing that he was outvoted. "If you insist on giving me that title could you way it without the name?" He said with a grin. "It sounds weird." they found a place to sit down and Itzal took a look at the menu. While they didn't have quiche they did have pancakes. In truth He had never tried pancakes before. He knew it was a popular food in America, where he was originally born, but never bothered to try it. Now however he decided it was time. As the waitress came by he kindly requested some pancakes. He turned to Alisa and asked what she would like. There was much more on the menu from most popular dishes around the globe so There had to be something she liked.
Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) She gave him a gremlin grin back, but it was genuine. She was honestly enjoying the time she was spending with Itzal. And while she would have looked further at the menu. She has an insatiable sweet tooth, another reason she wanted to be a cook, and she ordered a Belgium waffle. After she orders and the waitress walks away, she looks at Itzal a bit curiously. "So, senpai, where are you from? I kinda want to get to know someone for once in my life.." she says a bit quietly. She never really knew anyone back in real life. Alisa only knew herself and her parents mostly. Other than that she was wrapped up in a blanket at her desk, watching anime or playing some kind of game. She laughed a bit inside. How much of a fool she was. This makes her frown a bit, but it quickly goes away. Edited August 4, 2016 by Mossino
Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted August 3, 2016 While Itzal was attempting to adjust to the word Senpai, Glides reveled in the word. As the waitress walked away with their order he heard Alisa' questioned and smiled. He hadn't been asked a personal question the entire time he was in sao. It was about time someone asked. He leaned back in his seat as he prepared for a good personal conversation. "From what the doctors and police told my adopted parents I was born in America but ever since I was five I've lived in Japan. I know it's cultures and way of life and feel like I was born in Japan sometimes. I have though studied and researched American culture but never really visited it." Itzal paused and wonderednifnhe should do that once they've escaped this death game.
Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) OOC- WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE YOU KEEP REFERENCING, ITS DRIVING ME MAD ;~; nah jk. She frowns, looking upset, "Ooo, so you never knew your real parents? That's sad" Alisa continued to frown, not really mentioning herself. She believed her own story wasn't really worth much, and she'd just bore him with it. It was rather boring. No adventure, no cool name, no cool experiences, nothing too grand. It was a boring life on the outside, which begs the question. Does she subconiously enjoy being in the game? It gave her the motivation and the chance to do something helpful for once. Not just laze around and be useless. It was something she didn’t even realize but, deep down, she liked being in the game. Of course, it scared the hell out of her. She didn’t want to die, not at all. And she very much disliked pain. So this had its pros and cons but. They were trapped, what was she going to do."Is Itzal your real name?" she questions. Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Itzal recalled his parents death as he could never get that scene out of his head. He knew they were brave and that was what counted. He chuckled when she asked him if Itzal, a foreign word for shadow, was his real name. Then again because it was foreign he doubted any but a handful in this game knew it's meaning. "No, my username is Itzal. My real name is Felix," he said 28th a smile. 'Felix Senpai' Ulises mentally added and Itzal mentally waved him away, emanating a chuckle from his other self. "Now that you asked me, is Alisa your real name?"
Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) "Oui" She simply states to the name questions, using the French word for yes, pretty much revealing her nationality. "Felix-Senpai....hmph..." she smiles, giggling lightly... She thought it was lightly cute to call him that. I mean, of course, she was French and her saying that was her just weeabooing out but. Hey, she thought it was funny, and it was technically respectful, so, it didn’t matter. She continued her line of questioning, "What did you do before this game?" she asks, tilting her head. "Sorry if these are boring but I'd love to get to know you." She smiled, Alisa really hoped she wasn’t boring him with these questions but, she was generally interested in getting to know someone, most definitely Itzal, the man who she owed all too. She grinned at him lightly, wondering how he will have her repay her in the end. Knowing him for this long, probably no payment needed. But still. Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #17 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Itzal laughed softly at her response but now knew her nationality. "No I don't mind at all! If anything I'm glad someone finally asked. During school I found that I was a prodigy when it came to coding and story writing. Anything involving tech I'm a natural at. When I noticed this I immediately worked towards a game developer career. Along the way I was targeted by bullies in every grade because of my skills. I was excited about immersive vertual reality and so I bought sao. And here I am. But what about you? Being a teenager you should be getting close to knowing what you want to do right?" Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #18 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) Alisa smiled, a game developer? That sounds super cool..Perhaps I should ask him about what he was going to make..But...did she know what she wanted to do? No, not really. She just kinda lazed around at home after school, with no big aspirations. She laughs lightly at herself before continuing, "I had no real...aspirations or such during school. I mean, I'm good with math, best in my class and school...But, the only thing I looked forward too was coming home to watch anime... It was the only reason I was in Japan, I wanted to visit and my parents were on board with it, so I came here. First day saw the game and was like, 'yes must buy it.' So, I plugged it in, started and uh, got trapped....I'm just glad the game translates nearly everything for everyone.." she laughs again, albeit it sounding lightly sad, "I'm from France and its the only language I know, but the headgear seems to translate foreign languages." Itzal 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Author #19 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) Itzal nodded as everything she said seemed to make sense. He thought of how she was good at math, loved anime, and jumped at the sight of svr. His brain worked quickly, trying to think of something she could use with her gifts. He supposed it would depend on what areas of math she was best at, as well as what she was good at secondary. Either way he knew her math was going to be very handy. As the waitress placed the steaming meals on the table he asked her "What area of math are you good at? And what would be your follow up subject If you don't mind me asking?" Mossino 0 Posted August 3, 2016 #20 Share Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) Alisa looks down at her waffle hungrily as she answers the question. Did she specialize in any type of math? Thinking back on it, no, she was just generally good. She always understood it rather easily while her classmates fumbled with it. It was funny to watch. There was this one kid who flunked his Algebra I class while she was doing Trigonometry. It was great. She smiled, remembering the events of a few months back. She didn’t have any friends at school, but that didn’t stop her from enjoying parts of it. Specifcally those funny parts. "Just generally I was good at math, I was doing Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus when my peers were just learning Algebra I. My secondary? I like programming a bit...or pro-gamer. Either or would work." She shrugs, focusing on her food now. She was hungry so, she wasted no time taking a bit, "Mhm.. This is good~" Edited August 4, 2016 by Mossino
