Itzal 0 Posted August 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) They had finished lunch and were done fighting monsters for the day. With that phase of the daily training it was time for the last part: Scouting for materials. Itzal had the perfect system for it too. They never searched for just anything. Itzal would tell her to look for something specific. First it was berries, then a specific herb, and so on and so on. Today they would be searching for crystals in the forest. He knew they existed despite what people day. He found them in rocks, under trees, but they could prove difficult to find. Itzal of course was wearing his twilight cloak, some deep purple clothes Ariel made for him that enhanced his vision. But the real key to searching was knowing where and what to look for. That was what he hoped Alisa would learn after some time. It took Itzal a long time to realize that fact and it would take a long time for Alisa too, no doubt. As they drew closer to the forest they paused and Alisa looked to Itzal, awaiting his instructions. "Today we're looking for crystals," he said. "Not specific crystals, just crystals. But trust me, the farther we tread into training the more specific and difficult your target will become. As always, this is to train your scouting skills. We can talk if you'd like but remember to focus ultimately on the goal at hand. Once you've found at least five crystals we can head head back to camp. While we're at it we can collect some timber for the fire. Ready?" Edited August 22, 2016 by Itzal
Mossino 0 Posted August 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2016 Alisa had a hard, long day of mob farming and exercise with Itzal. She was starting to get more and more stamina and she was slowly getting more strength. Her training regiment was working out her to be honest. She was becoming a better fighter, and in her own eyes a much better. Though, today seemed a bit different. Well, different in he wanted her relax a bit and just gather materials. It was a really easy task, though, he did say stuff like this will get harder over time and more training. Crystals today? She could totally find some crystals, that would be easy. Giving Itzal a smile she nods, "Okay! I got it senpai! Firewood and some crystals." That was easy for her, and she could totally do that. An easy task that she could take care of. She gave him another light smile, her blond hair neatly laid behind her head.
Itzal 0 Posted August 14, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) Itzal smiled at her. She was so sweet and excited all the time. She made him so happy the way she was and although he intended to help her mature, he hoped to help her in a way that would retain her sweetness and energy. "Alright then, let's get looking! And remember what I told you, don't worry about the wolves here. They won't harm you." By now every wolf knew that she was with him and knew better than to mess with her. It would be fine if she were alone for a moment or two in this forest since there weren't any other mobs here. He made his way into the deep brush seeking some crystals for himself to use when he gained a shop. For now he was storing them so he could craft continuously when he built his shop. As he scanned the area he couldn't find anything. He didn't call to see if she found anything because he understood that concentration helps narrow down on clues to where whatever your searching for is. Still... "So what do you think about your training so far?" ID# 65993 LD: 6 + 4 (s&d / cloak) Edited August 14, 2016 by Itzal
Mossino 0 Posted August 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) She gave him another light smile before stepping away to start looking. She was kind of worried about wolves despite of Itzal saying it was fine. Boar's she could handle. Finding materials she could handle. Wolves? No! They scared her and she didn't want to deal with them! Though, she did have Itzal by her side, and she knew he could protect her. Rummaging around in some bushes, she looks for crystals or anything useful. Suddenly, she sees something shiny, instantly smiling, "I think I found one senpai!" she happily states before reaching down and grabbing whatever it is. Sadly...as she picks it up, Itzal hears a sound of water being moved, then a hefty sigh from Alisa. "N-Nevermind.." she states quickly. "I was just uh kidding.." She sighed again, she saw a leaf in a small puddle of water and the reflections made her think it was a shiny crystal. But no, it was just a leaf and water. She felt incredibly stupid and quickly moved away from that area, with her cheeks red. _______ Roll ID: ID# 65994 LD: 14 (WRY) Edited August 14, 2016 by Mossino
Itzal 0 Posted August 14, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) Itzal listened and heard her get excited, then he heard water and her quickly covering it up. He chuckled to himself. He decided she either didn't hear his question or was still thinking about it and decided to move on. He scanned the area and found some large branches perfect for a fire and placed them in his inventory. As he did so he heard a whimper and looked up to see a wolf. He noticed that it was one of the wolves who helped in the fight a few days ago. The wolf looked nervous but he gave it a reassuring smile and it began panting like a dog would. In fact, this wolf had in fact saved his life. Maybe it would be a good hunting partner in this floor someday. The wolf moved on and he continued searching. Unfortunately he didn't spot anything. He decided to search closer to where Alisa was so in case she saw the wolf she knew he was there. Maybe she would notice the big change in their behavior. Mossino 0 Posted August 14, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) Alisa sighed, continuing to look for crystals. But, in the midst of her search, she finds some twigs that they could use. Smiling, she bends down and pick them up, adding them to her inventory. She'd look over to Itzal, seeing the wolf walk off after looking at them. She smiled lightly, apparently they were scared of him or something. Though..does that mean Itzal terrified the living soul out of the wolves before she was here. It made her laugh lightly, and Itzal could hear it. Shaking her head, she steps behind some foliage, checking for crystals. Though, she finds absolutely nothing, and she audibly sighs, her annoyance letting some of her accent to become heavier. This normally happened when she was angry or just annoyed, or even embarrassed. To be honest it was just funny to hear her accent come out. "Uggh...zis is so slow.." she groans childishly, continuing to look around, "Any luck?" _________ Roll ID: ID# 65997 LD: 4 Edited August 14, 2016 by Mossino
Itzal 0 Posted August 14, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) Itzal heard Alisa laugh and he paused to look at her with a smile. "What's so funny?" he asked. He kept looking but when she asked how he was doing he shrugged. "Nothing but firewood so far. I'm beginning to believe this area was already cleared." He looked at her with another smile. "I like it when you use your accent. Do you try to hide it or have you not used it so long that it only comes out when you're frustrated?" He grinned to show he meant nothing offensively. He had often thought in the past what he would sound like with an American accent but after hearing a visiting American thought that it sounded a little bland with little color. He honestly didn't care about most other accents but rather the blend of accent and personality given off by the person's words. He thought that a French accent worked well with Alisa. As he scanned the area he found nothing but wood again and nodded to Alisa. "Nothing here. Let's check another spot. This forest's huge after all." Mossino 0 Posted August 15, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Alisa looked over towards Itzal when he mentioned her accent. She then got red in the cheeks and smiled back at him. Her accent doesn't come through as much as this is technically would be considered a dream in her head. And she doesn't dream with her accent. However, like in real life, when she got stressed, had intense emotions, or was flustered her accent would come out a lot more. Though, reminded of her accent now, it might come out more as she subconsciously remembers it existence. "Ah sorry...ze accent just comes out a bit more at times, no? And yes..lets go to another spot." Even after that small conversation, her accent slides into her speech a bit more, slurring her 'the' into something a lot more funny. As they walked off towards another area she continued to peer around for supplies and items. Sadly, she found nothing, not even wood she can use. She huffs again, slightly angry. __________ Roll ID: ID# 66030 LD: 5 Edited August 15, 2016 by Mossino
Itzal 0 Posted August 15, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Itzal smiled as her accent came out once again. He liked it, thought it added to her personality. He also believed it made her sound a bit older, more mature. As they moved to another spot Itzal continued to scan the area for three main things: Firewood, crystals, and any possible threats. Subtle signs like a shine in the bushes that could turn out to be either crystals or peering eyes. A slight rustle of the leaves that was obviously not caused by the wind. An odd smell in the air. Something out of place. Itzal was teaching Alisa how to use her eyes to find things, but Itzal was learning on a higher level: To be aware of your surroundings at all times. As he leaned over to pick up another large branch he spotted a glimmer and smiled as he pulled out a maroon crystal. He turned to Alisa. "So is there anything you want to work on or practice in particular? Or are you comfortable with the routine we currently have set?" In truth Itzal believed that she was almost ready to begin the basics in parkour. He was planning on setting up an obstacle course low to the ground with no danger of fall damage. As she practiced her footwork, and leaping from one beam to another she would have smaller and smaller targets to jump on. She would also have to learn how to climb quickly but safely. When he believed she was ready for advanced parkour he'd take her to high spots to help her get over whatever fears of heights she had in her. Mossino 0 Posted August 17, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2016 Hrm, she though the routine they had worked rather well to be honest. Woke her up in the morning with exercise and got her fighting mobs after that. The rest of the day could be dedicated to other areas of practice, such as material gathering, or maybe this special parkour she had heard about. She did have a fear of heights, yes, but she really wanted to start attempting parkour. It sounded so cool, and it was highly within reach. "What about ze uhm...parkour thing you mentioned? I kind of want to start..." she states confidently, leaving out she had a fear of heights. She was rather excited to start, and it was visible on her face. Perhaps itzal should get that course setup sometime soon. She gave him a light smile, "But other than zat, ze routine seems to be working well. Or at least I'm not dead and I'm not running out of energy, but this isn't real life is it?" She laughs lightly, "If only I had the threat of death to get me motivated like this in real life..." She gives him another laugh, still walking with him.
Itzal 0 Posted August 17, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted August 17, 2016 (edited) He smiled at her as she confirmed his hopes. He was doing well and already she had mastered over the training he had given her. He decided he should double her exercises sometime soon. Although she was strong she would need even more strength and endurance as they began parkour. After all, jumping, climbing, and running across trees, buildings, and mountains was exhausting for those who hadn't trained for it. Although he wasn't eager to see her leave when she graduated from his training, he was indeed eager to compete with her. It was a good way to keep both of their skills sharp and continue improving. He would probably always exceed her at parkour as he had done it since he was little, but in other areas she was sure to match his skill at some point. "I'm glad to hear that. Know though that once you start the basics your exercises will double in length. You handle your current ones easily now, and as the saying goes: No pain no gain." He grinned at her before scanning the area again. He smiled as he spotted a green crystal and picked it up, setting it in his inventory. Mossino 0 Posted August 19, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) Itzal heard Alisa pout lightly as he mentioned double exercises. She could deal with the morning exercise, yes, but it wore on her, a lot. And like, she could deal with it, but more might just cause her to be tired way too often. Smiling lightly after, "Aw..I guess I can deal with zat though." Laughing, she continues to look around for materials. She look in between some bushes, hoping for some luck this time around. Sadly, she couldn't find anything, which elicits a sigh from her. "I'm still up for it though, so, let's do it? But of course, later today we should do that quest and get my gear. Itzal 0 Posted August 19, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) Itzal smiled at her. "You're stronger than you realize Alisa. You may think you're at your limit, but it's when you push farther where you realize you're limit is much higher than you thought. I admit that you wouldn't be able to handle this weeks ago, but you've gotten a lot stronger and fit. Check out your muscles if you don't believe me. As for the course I'll set that up in the morning while you're doing your exercises. We can go through the basics in the evening. And yes after this we can go ahead and do the quest, then go get you your equipment." His thoughts traveled after he mentioned quest and he recalled a request Jonathan had made to him. "By the way. I was talking to Jonathan and he wanted to see if you could accompany him on a quest, just you and him. If you want to do it I have no qualms. Jonathan is a good tank and will keep you safe no matter how strong the monsters are. He won't take on anything too strong for him. Then again he could be doing a material gathering. I honestly have no clue." He spotted a large ore stone and picked it up, placing it in his inventory. This was going well he thought. Mossino 0 Posted August 20, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) Well, the material collection was going well for Itzal, but Alisa had found nothing yet. Well, she had found some sticks for the quest, but no crystals yet. She was getting lightly annoyed, slightly more than normal. There was a sigh and then a response to what Itzal had said. "I'm not against going with Jonathan, sounds fun actually. But probably tomorrow, the rest of our day will be filled up with zat quest and getting my gear, right senpai?" she questions, looking around for more materials. Finding some suspicious looking bushes she steps over and pushes them, peering around and between the green plant. Suddenly, you hear the chirp of an animal as Alisa is looking into the bush. You hear a small shout and a thud. Upon closer inspection you see a chipmunk jumped out of the bush and scared the wits out of Alisa, causing her to fall back on her behind. There is a shocked expression on her face as she lays there. ______ Roll ID: ID# 66219 LD: 1 Edited August 20, 2016 by Mossino
Itzal 0 Posted August 20, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) Itzal nodded to her to confirm that the were going to finish their plans. He was about to get back to searching when he heard a small shout and a thump and turned around, his eyes narrowing on the chipmunk running to safety. He shook his head. "Those things are so annoying," he said as it shook it's fist and chattered angrily at her. Itzal walked over to the tree and pulled out his sword. The animal paused and seemed to give a look like, 'you wouldn't'. Itzal began climbing the tree and the animal jumped from tree to tree until it was out of site. He sheathed Retributor and leaped to the ground. "I hate all rodents. Squirrels and chipmunks, bunnies and rabbits, and after I started this game, rats and mice." He recalled the two huge rats he fought at a lower level. "But in this game the wolves were a pain until I killed their leader. I hope I don't have to do that again. That sucker was a pain." His eyes narrowed as he recalled that devastating moment. "That warg was the one who killed her," he muttered, almost too soft to hear. He noticed something shining through a pair of bushes and reached to grab it when a small rabbit jumped out. Itzal yelped with shock but drew his sword and cut the infernal beast in half mid air. Mossino 0 Posted August 21, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 21, 2016 Alisa stood up, rubbing her head lightly, a bit shocked at how fircely Itzal ran off the animal. It didn't hurt her, and she did go into it's territory. She was the one at fault for falling down. I guess it didn't really matter, but it seemed a bit excessive. He launched into his explanation about how he didn't like rodents, squirrels, chipmunks...and even rabbits. This made her frown again, and she was going to say something until he started his next sentence. He didn't like wolves, that was understandable. But, he whispered something quietly. She knew he had done it, and it was so quiet in the forest, with her training in hearing, she could make out his words. 'Who killed her.'...Who was she? Was it a companion Itzal used to have? A past trainee? A lover? Someone close to him? Whichever it was, it would have been devastating to him to watch someone or something like that die in front of of his self. Quietly, she asked in a curious, bus saddened voice, in a loudness that was as quiet as his mutter, "Who...who was she senpai?" She gave him a tilt of the head like normal, but she looked sad. Perhaps a bit upset for Itzal on a lose of someone. Of course she could be entirely overthinking this, but she had no idea of that or not. All she knew was that Itzal looked a bit moody when that was sad. And she was going to get to the bottom of it.
Itzal 0 Posted August 21, 2016 Author #17 Share Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) Itzal looked at her in surprise but smiled softly, somewhat sad but also proud that she was able to hear him. "Velnia was a familiar I had found. She was a small purple dragon about the size of my forearm. Her violet scales sparkled and shone in the sunlight, and turned the darkest shade when in the darkness. Her eyes were a glowing red, softly and not bored or cold like Kasier's" he said with a soft chuckle. "She was playful and silly but still intelligent and helped me when I was in trouble in a battle. She was so cute when she greeted players too. When she spotted someone new she would fly up to them, stare them in the eyes intensely for a second or two, and if she liked them she'd crawl over every section of their body within a second and a half, stop on their shoulder and lick there face. I don't know how she'd respond to a player she dislikes though." He smiled sadly to her. "I was fighting a warg who I figured out was in charge of the wolves here. I wanted to make sure they didn't mess with me again since they kept pissing me off. That's where she died." Though, the story was still rather...depressing in its own remark. She gave a light sigh and looked around the area. "You know, I'm not finding anything now...did you curse me with bad luck after I scored all those critical hits the other day?" she asks teasingly. She continues to look around for anything special or cool items. She wanted to find at least one crystal for Itzal. She needed five but it seemed like she wasn't going to find really any of those. Finally, she sees the sparkle of something behind a dead bush. Excitedly, she bends over and picks it up, "Yes! Finally! I found one!" she states excitedly showing Itzal the pink crystal she just found. It was small, and rectangular in shape yet still lightly jagged. It was beautifully light pink and it shined in the dim light allowed into the forest under the thick canopy of trees. _______ Roll ID: ID# 66276 LD: 16 +1MAT Edited August 21, 2016 by Mossino

I only talk like that sometimes to make a joke. It's all about skill. That's why we're doing this every day. To get you some practice." He walked around some more keeping an eye out for materials when he heard her get excited and saw that she found a pink crystal. He smiled and patted her on the back. "Nice job Alisa! Hey, just so you know we could go snag that quest right now if you want. We've got an hour till sunset so we get the quest, gather the materials and when the sun goes down get you some equipment! Another day was coming to the end, and she had progressed even further. Her goal was getting closer and closer to being quite achievable. All she had to do was keep training, working with Itzal, and making progress, then it would be no time. Speaking of progress, he mentioned exactly what she wanted to do. Go on the 'Earning a Living' quest. She had heard about this, and it was pretty much to unlock professions. Blacksmith, chef, alchemist, stuff like that. A way to earn money and get buffs...also a way to make tasty, tasty food. That is why she wanted to be a chef. She could make such delicious things that everyone would love!..Plus she wanted to make sweets, lots of sweets, all of the sweets... "Sure senpai!
