The crimson eyes opened. And just as so many mornings before, they looked at a couple of planks. The planks that was a part of the roof belonging to her and Jomeis own house. What made her wake up wasn’t the sun shining thru the window. No, on the other side of the window there was no sun. It was still early in the morning. What had wakened her up was the sound from her morning alarm. Just this day, she had programmed it to wake her up at five. She looked to the side. Her spuse laid there, snoring. Zandra smiled and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.’’Im leaving now honey.’’ She said before pushing herself up from the bed. Before even doing anything else, she swiped a few times and took forth one of her perfect damage increasing potions. She looked at it.’’Well, yet another time for you to disappear inside me hehe.’’ She said and drank it all in one gulp.

After throwing the empty glas bottle on the floor she moved her fingers across her teeths. They had turned razor sharp. Then she looked at her right arm. She flexed the biceps and saw it had increased in shaped, making her looking more fit.’’I guess this will do.’’ She said and nooded. Then she took forth a snowcone and ate it too.’’So, there goes the last food I bougth from Grave. I haven herd from him for quite awhile, so guess it gonna take awhile until I tastes it again. After she had eaten it, she saw her sight increase. This would make her money and material hunting much more efficient. She moved her hand thru her hair.’’Well, then Im all set and ready to start. She looked out thru the window.’’Well yeah, this gonna be a long day. Yes indeed.’’

She walked down the stairs and woke her golden eagle familiar.’’Hey Zita, time to wake up sleepy.’’ The predator opened one eye and looked out thru the window. Then it looked back at Zandra when she saw it was still dark and looked at her curiously.’’it’s a very special day. So we gonna head out farmig today.’’ The eagle noded and flew up on her shoulder. Now, Zandra and her familiar exited the beach hhouse. Ready for a long and hard day to gain a lot of money, but most of all, to say goodbye to her whip weapon and realy enjoy it to its fullest. Immediately when she exited the house she spotted a giant crab just fifty meters away. Without a single word she activated her charge skill as well as shattering colossus. She flew forward and with her whip, slammed it twice in the ground, turning it to crystals.

A few moments later, the reward screen poped up.’’Well, I didn’t had time to buy one of the alcoholic cook items, but I guess this will have to do. Didn’t took very long before our first encounter did it?’’ she said to her feathered friend with a smile. Then she herd a sound infront of her. She looked up.’’Wait what? Another crab already?’’ she said with a surprised look at her face. Thou it quickly turned into a smirk.’’Hehe, just more col for me ey!’’ she said and repeted the procedure she did just seconds earlier. And she got the same result this time as well. The crab turned into crystals and Aincrad had got rid of yet another mob from their programming. The reward screen poped up, and this time. The crimson eyed healing berserker got even more money then from the previous one.’’More money isn’t something I say not to hehe.’’

Zandra now decided to leave the beach behind. And she succeded that without any further encounters.’’So Zita, where to you think we should go next? There was quite some time since we was at floor four. Do you remember killing all those ice-elementals? What was it, fourty of them we took down on a single day. Gosh I slept well that night.’’ They was heading back to town,but suddenly their way was blocked by a grizzly. And it was a pretty big one. It raised on two feets and let out a loud and long grawl at her.’’Graaawrh!!!’’ Zandra answered before she charged up her sword art and activated her charge skill. She darted forward. Then, before the bear realized what was happening, the whip had turned around his neck and he flew thru the air. Slamming into the ground, not one time but twice. Those impacts dealt enough damage on the bear to kill him.

Zandra scratched her back and looked at the screen.’’Well, we have already got ourself quite some money.’’ She looked down on her whip.’’But as usually, we are very low on the material side.’’ She let out a deep sigh.’’Why? Why did I had to pick the worst weapon available for these kinds of situations. I realy do suck when it comes to farming. Damnit, damnit damnit.’’ She said and stomped her foot in the ground, making dirt flying in every direction and leaving a footprint in the grass. But you maybe wonder why she decided to head out on an farming trip this particular day? Well, Zandra had herd there was gonna come a new update soon, and when it comes, farming gonna get a lot harder, but even worse, they will remove the whip from the game. So then she wouldn’t even be good at dealing with single target enemies.

But this was not only bad for her. Since thanks to the rmoval of whip, she would be able to pick another weapon. She would also be able to pick new skills. And she would be able to play around pretty much thanls to the amount she had gained. Thou she had been thinking and looking thru the different choices for many hours, she still hadn’t decided. Also the choice much depended on what way she wanted to go. As far as she could see there was five different paths. The first and that it leaned on the most at the moment was the glass canon path. Where she would go only for as high damage as possible. That means investing in every damage dealing skill available. Thou that also had two ways, single target or aoe. This realy was a hard decision. And she cant be hasty to decide.

Another choice was to being a scout. Then there was this new skill as well, named gatherer that made you able to find more materials while being out in the while, searching.’’Well, speak of the devil!’’ Zandra said. Because her eyes fell on a flower. A flower with crimson-red leafs and ice-blue in the middle. Carefully she picked it up. She looked at it closely, appraising it like merchants do with armours and weapons.’’Yes, this is fine.’’ She said and putted it in her supply bag. Her special supply bag she had got from the crown lions almost a year ago. A smile grew on her face when she remembered their meeting. That was the first time she said her real name to somebody, it was also the time she learned that it was almost tabu to do that. Thou sadly, after that, she haven’t spent much time together with Ariel. Lately it only had been at boss fights or events.

So, with the flower in the bag and the mobs of floor sixteen behind her, Zandra entered the town. There was no one outside. But you can understand that. She glanced at the clock. After all, the time was only a quarter past six."Oh, this have been a realy effective start. We have already killed three enemies and it have only been fifteen minutes." Zandra whispered to her feathered friend that was resting on her shoulder. It let out a quiet cry as an ansswer that she agreed. Only aminute or two later, the female couple was at the warp gate. Zandra scratched her cheek."Hmm... where do you think we should start Zita?" There was quite alot of floors to choose from. Eighteen to be precise."Well, what do you say about doing all floors? From one to eeighteen. Probably we wont be able to go trhu all of them today. But then we can just save the rest, and then try them out when getting our new weapon."

When she had decided she took a step into the gate. Then she loud and clear said’’Town of the beginnings.’’ A bright shine and a few moments later she was gone. The same thing happened sixteen floors down in the empty gate. When the shine disappeared, a raven-haired woman stepped out with a golden eagle close behind.’’Time to head out immediately Zita?’’ she asked the familiar that answered with a cry.

The town became smaller and smaller as she traveled forth, ignoring all the boars that covered the fields. They was way to weak to even be worth killing. Well at least at her level. She was going to a special part of the floor, where high leveled monsters spawned. As far she knew, she was one of few that knew the exact location.’’Oh, there it is.’’ Zandra said and pointed on an a cave about a hundred meters ahead. On each side of the gate there stood a dire wolf. They growled as they spotted her.’’Hehe, time to dance.’’ The whipress said and darted forward with her charge skill. Her strongest sword art quickly turned one of the wolfes into nothingness. She looked up and saw the other one jumping towards her. She only weared her good armour so the protectopn wasn’t high. She raised her arm and a small chunk of her health disappeared.

Zandra stared into the pair of tiny red eyes that belonged to her opponment, the surviving dire wolf. It still had a grip of Zandras arm with its sharp fangs.’’Get off off me!’’ she shouted and hit it on the head with her fist. The grip around her arm loosened and she was free again.’’Hehe, that was all I needed.’’ She said while having a staring-contest with the predator. She prepared her most powerful sword art.’’Ready? Here I come!’’ she said and darted forward, activating the art that quickly turned the wolf into crystals and money for Zandra.’’Pfft. piece of cake.’’ She said as she accepted the reward at the reward screen and steared her feets thru the tunnel that now wasn’t guarded by a pair of dogs anymore. She moved her hand thru her long black hair.’’So, soon we will reach a pretty strong monster. You ready Zita?’’ she asked and looked at her familiar.

The bird answered with a cry, a cry that echoed thru the tunnel. After a minute walk they exited the rock corridor and entered a huge field. With a smile Zandra looked over it until she spotted something quite a bit away.’’See there Zita?’’ she said and pointed at the other edge of the field.’’That is our final prey.’’ She said and pointed at a large black bear.’’Will be wont it?’’ she said and started the walk over the other edge of the field. She took a steady grip of her whip.’’Now your mine teddy!’’ she shouted as she activated her charge skill and darted towards the fluffy predator. When in range, the whip swung thru the air, twirling around its neck and making contact.’’Got you!’’ Zandra said. Then she repeated what she had already done five times today. She pulled the whip and made the bear fly thru the air. It smashed into the ground twice, making it lose all of its health.

With tje bear killed, there wasnt anything more for Zaandra to do at this secret place that maybe she was the only one that knew about it."That would be a little exiting actually. To know about a hidden location that no one else have ever seen. Well, there was one thing she could do. This was a pretty beutiful field, and back in the old days when she was a simple one digit leveled player, she often traveled on the fields to search for all kinds of materials. Every material from simple flowers to crystals made of ice. From berries to rockhard ore. So why wouldnt she be able to find snything here. So she took a few minutes to search the field. And just as she thougth, a short while later she spotted a plant that didnt looked like the rest. She picked it up and inspected it."Mhm. This will work." Her well trained alchemist eye told her and she placed the material in the supply bag.

With the flower in the bag she looked up and scanned the surrondings. There didn’t seemed to be any more possible spots to find a material, at least not what she could see. So she shrugged her shoulders and left the hidden area that she was maybe, just maybe, the only one that knew about it. After leaving thru the tunnel, she steared her feets towards town of beginning with a smile on her lips. This felt good, she thougth as she looked at all the low-leveled players that was training against the weak little boars. Thou she remembered when she herself was low-leveled. And that she amost died when fight a nepent.’’Oh my oh my. Ive realy been getting stronger since back then.’’ When she thougth about the nepent, she also remembered the flowers she used to gather, and now she spotted just one like it. So she walked up, picked it, and placed it in the supply bag.

‘’So, Zita.’’ She said to her feathered familiar as the two walked thru the outer gate of town of the beginnings.’’What floor do you think we should go with now?’’ That was when she got a notice poping up. It was a mail from Jomei, her loved one.’’Oh.’’ Left Zandras lips when she had red the whole mail.’’Seems like he wants to hang around today.’’ She looked down at her whip.’’Well, I can do one more run with it. So Zita, neew plans. Not what should our next floor be. But what would our last floor be?’’ Thou the answer was pretty obvious. And a few minutes later, she exited thru the warp gate into a winter wonderland and immediately headed away from snowfrost town, into the wilderness. On her way thru the trees, she spotted an ice-crystal node.’’Olala.’’ she said and started working on it with her pickaxe. And a few minutes later, she was one material richer in her supply bag.

Zandra pushed on thru the trees, following a familiar route she had walked countless times earlier, when she was on her farming runs with her dagger. Back then, at least she could hunt with her aoe and still get materials and moneys. But when changing to whip, that was no longer an possibility. With the whip, she had to go for single targets. She looked up when she herd something between the trees.’’Zita, there is something up ahead.’’ She said and started to jog towards the sound. When she entered the there was an open space where, in the middle there was a little lake. And around the lake walked three ice-elementals, looking like they could be mid-boss materials.’’You ready Zita?’’ She said and activated her charge skill and flew forward. Killing the first one in just a few seconds. The moment later, she felt two hard strikes from each one of the other elementals hitting her in the back.

Zandra fell to the ground when the two elementals stroke her in the back. She feel deep in the snow and alot of the white cold substance filled her mouth, making it sting in her teeths. She pushed herslef up while spitting it out.''Pfft, ouch, that realy, realy hurt. You know that misters?'' she said and pushed herself up into standing position. She brushed her snowy hair out of her face to get a clear view of the two enemies. Thou she was to late. There was already another pair of bloes flying thru the air towards her, sktriking her in the chest and making her falling down in the snow once again. Some of the snow found its way inside her armour in her neck. The ravem hared whip user shivered when she felt the cold.’’Brr.’’ she said and suddenly remembered a long time ago, when she did some almost like this on another player, a player that was almost the strongest of them all by now, after Calrex.

Zandra slowly pushed herself up again. Thou this time it was much harder. She realy have to use her strength to be able to stand. When she finally was in standing position, she glanced at her health bar. When she saw it her eyes went wide open and she backed a few steps. Her heart started pounding like never before and she started to panic."Nonono!" She shouted to no one."This cant be happening!" Her healthbar had turned colour from green to red. She looked at the ice-elementals and saw they coming towards her. If even one of them landed a hit, she would be no more. She would turn into crystals. She looked down at her whip and quickly deleated one of them from the game. But still she wasnt out of danger. If the surviving elemental would land a hit, it would be over for Zandra. She schoke her head."No, stop!" Tears started to roll down her cheeks. The elemental raised its ice fist and let it fall down on Zandra. It was in that moment, her feathered friend decided to join the fight. As an arrow, Zita came in full speed. In the last second she was between Zandra and the elemental. With the momentum, Zita made it miss Zandra but instead took the blow upon herself."ZITA NOOOOOO!" Zandra screamed when she saw what had happened.

The eagle met the ice coming towards here, anruptely stopping her in her flight. Instead the feathered predator flew in a straigth line down into the snow where it laid, motionless. Zandra rushed towards her fimiliar and kneeled down beside her."Zita no. Stay with me. You cant leave me. Please stay, you can make it." She said desperatly with tears making stripes on her cheeks.

The eagle moved and its healthbar started regenerate."Oh Zita." Zandra said with a sigh of relief. She was so happy. But when she herd the sound from the elemental beside her, she rembered the danger she was in. She glanced at Zita while pushing jerself up in standing position. Her heart started to beat faster as her mind got filled with rage."You... you did this to Zita." Her chainwhip started to glow."Your little piece of s***. Im gonna turn you into ice cubes your [censoured]. But that is to mild punishment for you." Her whip was ready and she activated it, making the chain fly thru the air. It twirled around the elementals neck and conected."Gottcha!" She said a d pulled the handle towards her, making the creature fly thru the air and slam into the ground. She pulled it the other way and slammed it into the ground again. This made its health bar turn from green into red and then empty. The elemental shattered into a sea of crystals.

With the trio of ice elementals eliminated, Zandra wanted to get away from this area as fast as possible. She hurried to Zita and carefully lifted her in her arms."Hold on Zita, we will head on home now. I will take care of you."she said as shhe sstarted to jog thru the forest and kissed the bird on her head as she navigated between the snowcovered trees. Each breath formed a little cloud infront of her mouth and the sun was now showing itself clearly, no longer hiding behind the mountains.

Half an hour later she spotted the town called Snowfrost."Almost there Zita. Hold on just a bit longer." She whispered in the birds ear. Zandra couldnt, she just couldnt allow herself to lose Zita. All days they had spent together. They couldnt just disapear into nothingness. Or rather, into blue and white crystals.

Zandra laid her familiar on one of the tables in her store-part of the beachhouse."Just lay still okay Zita."Zandra said and walked over to a shelf filled with potions. She picked one and walked back to the wounded eagle."Here, drink this." She said and slowly poured the liquid into Zita, drop by drop. When the bottle was empty she took a step back."There we go. Now all you need is some rest."

Next, she detached the whip from her hip. She sat down and a chair and laid the whip on the table."So, this was the last time I use you whip of the warrior." A tear rolled down her cheek and dripped to the table."The time with you have been fantastic. But now its time for you to retire." She picked up the whip and gave it a kiss before hanging it on a nail on the wall beside the fireplace."Now you can rest. Live in peace." She said and sat down in her armchair. She let out a sigh and took a sip of a glass cold lemonade.
