{SP-F1} The Power That Flows -RGQ-

Recommended Posts

Domarus walked down through the first floor, heading to a cottage out in the middle of a field.  It was nighttime, the full moon popping in and out between the clouds, providing light when and where it could.  It was enough for Domarus to see and thus he had no trouble at all.  He was heading to this cottage because he heard of a random quest that had appeared.  And quests granted SP.  That was what he needed.  However he also needed col and he heard that it was possible to retrieve this from monsters.  If the quest was a combat quest he could get himself some suitable col.  He wore his new dragon bone armor that would get him through the first floor.  Since everything besides mini bosses only had around ten damage without a crit, monsters would usually deal only one damage to him, three at best if they got lucky.  The only issue with fighting mobs at the moment was that they could take some time.  Until he reached the next two handed ax rank he was stuck with the weakest sword arts.  It made combat easier of course but it would be faster with more sword arts and energy.  Domarus guessed that it was exactly those facts that made it so hard for a low level player like himself to level up.  Once he gained enough energy, ranks and equipment however he wouldn't be stopped.  He would power level so hard that even the front liners would be amazed.  And as he did so he would gain followers and rise up.  However he needed something to separate him from the trash, from the commoners, and even from the frontliners, though he had heard that some of them already had this.  He needed a unique skill.  And when they came out he needed to be ready.  Therefore he would do all he could to get himself enough col in time.  And once again this led him back to the quest.  Keres walked at his side of course, eager to see her master fight.  As he stepped into the cottage the npc turned out to be two of them:  A man and a woman.

"Please, you need to save our daughter.  She's in the forest, all alone with those villains!"  The quest appeared and Domarus moved out, not bothering to waste time here chatting with foolish NPCs.

Domarus approached the forest and as he entered it the darkness crept in.  The moon still showed enough light along with odd glowing plant life, but the darkness was intended to set the mood.  It was suppose to make Domarus fearful, nervous, on edge.  However it did quite the opposite.  For he lived and worked in the shadows.  Maybe not physically but his plans and actions and ways to retrieve them certainly aligned.  Keres felt his comfort and smiled beside him.  As they traveled through the forest Domarus heard something and pulled out Vindicem, his black battle ax that pulsed a dark red glow.  As he did the light shined on a goblin that stared fearfully at the blade pointed at it's face.  It looked at Domarus and he made it clear he wanted to cleave the thing in half.  The creature stared for a moment before grinning and making a howl and lunged from the bushes of it's hiding spot.  Domarus pushed Keres toward a large pair of bushes to hide in and she did so.  The goblin rushed in with a longsword and the two locked weapons, staring at each other for a moment before commencing the battle.  Domarus and the goblin proceeded to leap away from each other and flourish their weapons before striking.  The goblin was faster than the other boar Domarus had fought before and landed a cut on his arm.  However it hit his armor and did minimal damage.  Domarus returned the favor by unleashing the sword art whirlwind and knocking the goblin into a nearby tree.  So it didn't have any MIT?  That was a big yet good change for him.

OOC- Forgoing action

Keres watched from the bushes as the goblin managed to scratch Master Domarus' armor and watched with giddy glee as he knocked the beast into a tree in the forest.  As she felt the shockwave she shuddered with anticipation and excitement.  Domarus always excited her in every way and she loved seeing him punish others.  She especially loved it when he punished her.  Domarus promised to buy a leather whip he could use on her when he was bad.  The thought sent a wonderful and pleasurable feeling through her very soul and body.  She couldn't wait.

Meanwhile Domarus waited for the goblin to come back to it's senses.  It shook it's head and growled at him.  Domarus stood there unwavering and unbothered by the growl and the monster charged him.  The goblin might have a sword unlike the boar, but the creature was just as stupid.  He swung his two handed battle ax at the monster so that it hit the base of the sword's blade with enough force to knock the weapon from it's grasp.  The goblin was startled but managed to evade Domarus' ax quickly enough and tried to run after it's sword.  Domarus thrusted his ax and hooked the blade against it's leather armor, yanking the creature back towards him.  He could have sword he heard an 'eep' before it turned around and attempted to punch him in the face.  Domarus dodged the attack easily and the monster rolled uncontrollably on the ground.  When it came to a stop it was upset to find Domarus directly in it's path to getting it's weapon back.

Domarus watched the goblin rise to it's feet slowly, it's eyes darting between Domarus and it's weapon behind him.  Domarus could already see the goblin planning how it would go about it.  It's eyes darted around for a bit but then settled on something in the far distance and smiled.  Domarus didn't look in that direction, keeping his focus on the goblin and then it frowned.  It had tried to get his attention elsewhere but it quickly learned that it would not be given that luxury.  Denied any other way the goblin ran, preparing to  slide under Domarus.  The monster was really stupid.  Domarus swung his two handed battle ax with a black aura mixed with his red, signifying his sword art being released.  As the Goblin came around the other side, reaching for it's simple sword, the ax thundered down upon the monster like a bolt of lightning, the shockwave acting as the thunderous crack.  The monster shattered as he performed a critical hit.  After the monster shattered he looked for loot but nothing appeared.  Cursing his luck he snapped his fingers and Keres returned to his side.

Foregoing action

Domarus began walking forwards once again, Keres slowly behind him.  As he walked he held the ax in his hands, eager for another fight.  Keres picked up her pace until she was side by side with him and he cocked an eyebrow at her as she rarely did this.  He didn't bother asking her what was going on in that strange mind of hers though and just left the matter be.  As they continued to walk Domarus spotted another goblin who was patrolling randomly through the forest.  The monster spotted him and they stared at each other for a moment or two, Keres returning to her hiding spot.  The monster charged her but Domarus knocked it back with the butt of his ax and waited till she was hidden.  The goblin stared after her for a few seconds before turning to Domarus again.  Once more the monster had chosen a single longsword.  Domarus prepared his weapon and the battle began.  The goblin rushed wildly at Domarus while he charged the disgusting creature.  He swung his large ax at the monster but the creature was more agile than it's wild and randomness led him to believe and it leaped over it.  When it landed behind him he turned with the ax to block the sword with the long handle and shoved the monster away.  The creature flew through the air but landed soundly on the ground.

Keres watched from the bushes and wondered with anticipation how Domarus would destroy this monster.  It was agile and thus would try evading him as much as possible.  This she knew might make his fight longer, but despite Domarus' size he was faster than others gave him credit for.  He might have some trouble adjusting to the heavy armor and the massive ax of his but he would have no trouble killing the goblin.

Foregoing action

The monster stared at Domarus for a moment, realizing that this player was much more powerful than it originally guessed.  The player's level was low enough but it's strength and defense was strong indeed.  If the player were able to take down it's friend that was watching the road a little ways away then he had to be good.  The monster handled it's sword for a moment as the silence continued and then broke into a charge at the player, wondering what his reaction would be.

Domarus let the monster have a moment before he crushed it.  He wouldn't do so immediately as he wanted his energy to have a chance to kick back in.  When the goblin finally made a charge Domarus didn't move until the last second, attempting to trip the monster by swinging the handle of his ax but the creature managed to leap over it and land behind him.  It tried to stab him but Domarus turned around in time to block the attack.  He shoved his opponent back and went on the attack, slashing left and right at his target but it was too agile and evaded him each time.  Then it jumped back before lunging at him again with it's sword spinning like a cyclone.  A cyclone which Domarus stopped easily by jabbing his blade at the blade, stopping it instantly.

Keres' eyes shined as the two struck at each other, their blades creating sparks as they made contact which reflected off of her eyes.  It was exhilarating and she was enjoying every moment.  Domarus was so powerful and could not be stopped, not by the likes of this weak monster.  She knew he could fight but he was doing more fighting in SAO than he had ever done in the real world.  And for this she was grateful.

The goblin watched Domarus as it evaded the enormous player's attacks, avoiding the huge ax' strikes and keeping it's own flesh intact.  Occasionally it would try to counter attack but with each attempt the giant player blocked the attack with ease.  It needed a better way to go about this.  Finally it saw an opening.  The goblin ducked under the player's arm and weapon and slashed it's weapon at Domarus' side, striking in an area with minimal armor.  When it emerged on the other side of the player it turned around and slashed again with a grin.

Domarus watched his health drop by two points before turning around to stop the goblin's second strike.  As he did he noticed it's grin.  Don't get so hasty in your victory he thought.  He shoved the monster back before charging it.  The monster continued it's evasive tactics, leaping around, over and under his weapon.  Only this time, Domarus left no opening to pass his strikes.  There was no way for the monster to hit Domarus.  With that he could slowly wear out the monster until it left an opening in it's defense.  And it was working.  Slowly, very slowly, the monster's movements became more sluggish.  Domarus smiled as he saw the effects and knew exactly what would happen next.  The monster slashed at Domarus and he hooked his ax blade around the sword and fling it across the field.  He released whirlwind and did the same thing with the monster as he had with the sword.  Just with twice as much force.

Keres didn't wince when Domarus was struck, partly because he didn't flinch and partly because it was hardly any damage.  And besides, she knew that he would be giving it some payback pretty soon and was looking forward to it.  When it happened she wasn't disappointed.

The goblin saw the attack coming but could do nothing to prevent it.  The monster grimaced as the blade struck him and when it collided with the ground it could feel inner injuries besides outer ones.  A rib or two seemed to have broken and it could feel it when it tried to move.  The monster struggled to do anything but it could only sit there helplessly as it awaited it's demise.

Domarus grinned as the monster failed to move.  He saw it struggle before falling to the ground completely.  It was too injured to continue.  Domarus began to charged the beast, letting his two handed ax to be soaked with both red and black glow of his weapon and sword art.  As he charged he gained momentum and with all of this he surged his power into a solid swing, releasing whirlwind and causing a critical hit, utterly destroying the goblin, shattering it's pieces into pieces.  Afterwards he grinned as he saw the loot menu pull up one hundred and fifty col.  That plus the material gain was a good catch.  He stepped back and heard Keres emerge from the bushes.

"That was fun to watch master!"

"Not as entertaining as actually killing them.  But I suppose it's as close as you can get eh?"  Keres nodded.  She understood she wasn't built for fighting, physically or mentally, so she let Domarus do that.  However she could mess with people's emotions and took pride in that.

Domarus began to walk again into the forest and Keres rushed up to walk by his side.  She seemed to have a spring in her step today and Domarus was assuming it had to do with her being able to see him brutally destroy monsters.  However his assumptions were wrong even though she would not share.  In truth she was hoping.  Hoping that he and Esther ended up getting together.  Only recently had Domarus and Esther had a rare interaction that Esther hadn't seen Domarus do before.  Not only had Domarus allowed her to spend the night in his bedroom, but she found her master on the ground with his head resting on Esther's lap.  Before this event had happened Keres was jealous of Esther, jealous that she had gained Domarus' affection so easily.  However she was the opposite now.  She wanted to ship the two of them, and help any way she could towards getting them together.  Keres liked the idea of having a mistress and master at the same time and...  She wanted Domarus to be happy.  However it was clear that Domarus was in his destructive mood so it would be wise not to bring it up for now.  And thus she would walk happily beside Domarus as he spent some deep thoughts to himself.

Domarus spotted a clearing up ahead and told Keres to get into hiding.  She did as instructed and he approached the clearing with his ax in his two hands.  When he entered he saw a fairly large fire with a goblin and a human npc.  They seemed to be talking.  Off to the left near the edge of the forest he spotted the girl, tied to a post and crying silently.  The two figures wore chainmail and a few metal plated armor pieces.  On the goblin's right hip was a short sword but he couldn't see what weapon the human had as it didn't seem to be equipped.  It was odd but he supposed that made the human the boss of some sort.  Domarus took a heavy step forward.

"Two at a time eh?  This should be interesting."  The two figures turned around quickly, startled that there was a player who had just passed the two other goblins.  The girl looked up with tears of hope now.  She began to scream for help.  The man looked at Domarus up and down before chuckling.

"I'm afraid not you fool.  My two pals are heading over here soon.  You'll be surrounded within moments."  Domarus grinned and raised his left hand, snapping his fingers.  The two stared at him curiously before Domarus brandished his ax.

"Well then, I better get started!"  Without a warning he charged the two and swung his ax at them, forcing them to jump out of the way.  The man shouted to the goblin in a foreign language and turned to rush at the girl but she was gone.  The man looked around hastily before dodging the ax again and growled.

"Who else is there?!"  Domarus grinned.

"You won't ever know.  Best phrase in this scenario?  Dead men tell no tales."

The goblin reacted the swiftest and struck at Domarus, landing a minor scratch on his shoulder.  Domarus didn't grimace or anything but lashed out at the creature but it was too swift despite it's heavy armor and leaped back just in time.  The human ran away from the ax weirder and attempted to seek out his captor in the forest.  He looked around with a fierce growl.

"Take care of him!  I'll go after the girl!"  With that the man left.  The goblin nodded in his direction but freaked out and jumped backward when Domarus swung his ax a nano meter away from it's eyes.  The goblin growled at Domarus but saw that he appeared bored.

"Hey, focus on me old lady."  This was obviously an insult and there was no way the goblin would miss that.  It roared at him before it charged at Domarus who began to block all of it's attacks, attempting to figure out how it fought.  If he did that this battle could end quickly.

Keres had slipped in and cut the bonds with a dagger and had pulled her into the forest with her hand blocking the girl's mouth.  At first she struggled until Keres told her they were rescuing her and that she just needed to shut up and be still.  The girl stopped and looked up at Keres with hope.  The mischievous grin on the player made the girl hesitant to believe but at this point there couldn't be anything worse right?  Keres stopped at a suitable hiding point and pushed the girl inside before covering her in stuff and told her not to make a sound.  Keres then ran to the other side and found her own hiding spot.  It was perfect.  She knew he would end up following their tracks so she'd just ambush the idiot, stick some dizzying berries she found earlier in his mouth, and he wouldn't know which way was which.

The goblin was reckless with it's attacks, but it's mind was cautious.  Whenever Domarus made a move to counter it, the goblin would switch to a defensive position or leaping backward to evade the strike.  It's recklessness almost got Domarus once or twice.  Almost, but to no avail.  The stupid Goblin couldn't keep track of Domarus' blade while trying to strike at him at the same time.  Domarus blocked another strike from the goblin and gave a strong shove, forcing the monster back a long ways.  As the monster tried to get back onto it's feet Domarus charged, his two handed battle ax glowing with a black aura as he charged his sword art.  He rushed the monster and unleashed the sword art upon the goblin, the shockwave sending it through the trees, snapping several as it did so.  Domarus charged after it, not wanting to lose sight of the monster.  He wanted to kill it quickly so he could go after the man.

The man ran into the forest his eyes seeking the players.  He didn't know they were players of course, as he was an npc, but the fact remained that he knew his target:  A little girl.  He rushed through the forest, his weapon hidden as usual, and scanned the area.  He wasn't sure where the girl could have run off to.  If only he was a tracker he could-  Suddenly he felt pressure against his back and almost toppled forward.  Almost.  He held his ground and saw a hand reach for his mouth but he grabbed it just in time and saw something spill out.  Diz berries?  He growled as he knew what the girl was up to and pulled down on the arm, throwing him in front of him...  It wasn't the girl he was looking for.

Foregoing action

Domarus waited for the goblin to return.  He had knocked it far but he needed to recover a little bit of energy while waiting, so no use charging in after it.  That blow would seriously piss off the creature so it would definitely come to him.  He stood there with his ax' blade downward, allowing himself to rest against it.  As he waited he could hear bushes moving, signifying it had finally gotten to it's feet.  Slowly the sound became more frequent and he could eventually see glimpses of the monster rushing up to him.  Domarus straightened himself and shoved the blade of the ax all the way into the dirt so it stood upright.  Domarus raised his hands, his dragon boned gauntlets ready to deflect the monsters attacks.  The goblin swung it's blade at him with more power than accuracy so he barely had to do anything.  Domarus' eyebrow cocked.  This was going to be easier than he thought.  He dodged two other attacks and crossed his arms to block the downward strike, before shoving the monster away and kicking at it, knocking it to the ground.  Domarus began walking over to it, heaving the ax out of the ground with one pull.

"Where is she?!" the man roared.  Keres simply smirked as she rose to her feet.

"Aw, is the big bad man missing someone?  Poor big bad man."  The man roared as he threw a punch at Keres who step sided to avoid the blow.  However he wasn't as slow as she believed and he almost landed a punch on her from the side before she avoided this one too.  The little girl in hiding was doing as Keres had instructed.  Hopefully this wouldn't go south until Domarus returned.  It shouldn't take him long to handle the goblin she thought.  Domarus would most likely destroy it within moments.

Domarus watched as the goblin struggled to get up but it wasn't nearly as fast enough.  Domarus charged his sword art, covering his ax blade in a familiar black aura, and raised it up high before slamming it and all of it's power down on the goblin, the strike and shockwave so great that the monster was pushed into the ground.  Domarus was upset that the strike hadn't destroyed it completely but at this point he didn't really care.  One more strike and it would be dead.  Until it respawned that is.  He saw the goblin begin to rise, gritting it's teeth in rage from the red health above it's head.  Domarus thought it interesting how monsters became more filled with energy and strength when they were close to death.  He thought it was very interesting.  The monster rushed at him, slashing in every direction trying to get past his defenses.  However all it succeeded in was either missing or hitting the long handle of the two handed battle ax.  This only made the goblin even more furious and thus it's attacks became even less accurate.  Domarus, who was getting bored of this and wanted to go find that human to end this quest, countered it's next attack by knocking it's weapon up and kicking the goblin again, knocking it backwards once again.

The man and Keres were playing a dangerous game.  The man continued to strike at Keres, each time getting more familiar with how she moved around.  Soon he would be able to land a solid hit on her and she knew this.  However without a weapon equipped he couldn't deal any damage and little did this npc know that she enjoyed pain.  Finally he hit her on the face, throwing her to the ground.  He stood above her like a giant and was about to interrogate her when she started...  Giggling?

"Oh my!  That was a good punch!  I could almost feel that!  But, to be honest Domarus has MUCH better punches.  I like him better."  The man stood there confused and confounded.  This woman.  Liked to have him punch her?  But then why was she avoiding them this entire ti-  The man realized it just a second before it happened.  He tried to move his leg but the rope tightened around his ankle before he could.  He cursed before being lifted up by the trap.

Domarus watched as the goblin struggled, and he meant struggled, to get up.  The creature was in pain, which Domarus himself couldn't feel thanks to the pain dampeners.  It looked up hatefully at Domarus and he stared back with a blank face.

"Yoo... Foo-ish uuman...  Ave no Eye-dee-ah...  Wha iz in stoh far yoo."  Domarus cocked an eyebrow as the goblin appeared to have....  Some chopped up version of english that it could speak.  He could barely make out what it had said but he got the gist of it.  He walked over, his ax resting in his hands.  He used his foot to shove the creature onto it's knees, watching it grimace when it hit the ground.  He grabbed it's head and pushed it down until it was bent over.

"Meanwhile you know exactly what's going to happen to you."  The goblin growled but didn't move.  The creature seemed to have accepted it's fate.  Domarus backed up a little bit.  Despite that it would respawn later on, it was programed to believe that it wouldn't.  This goblin then must believe in some sort of deity.  This made Domarus curious and he wanted to learn more about the religion on each floor.  He shrugged.  Right now he needed to get this over with.  He raised the heavy, two handed ax, the blade pulsing it's dark red aura.  As it so happened, dark storm clouds sat in the sky.  The moment the ax went down lighting struck, and the thunder rolled across the floor, echoing the rising of Domarus.

The man cursed right before he was shot up into the air from the rope tied to his ankle.  He tried to untie it, but he couldn't do so while he was upside down and gravity weighing on him.  It proved too difficult.  He let himself drop and stared at the girl with hatred.

"You'll pay for this witch!"

"Witch eh?  That's not the way to speak to my servant."  Domarus emerged and stood in front of the man, the two of them glaring at each other.

The man turned his head to see the huge man approach, the battle ax in his hands.  The man growled.  Servant?  He looked at the woman and shook his head.  This was more than he could handle.  The woman was the red haired man's servant?  He turned to the man.

"Was this cowardice trick your idea?!"  Domarus chuckled and shook his head.  The npc reminded him of so many fools in the real world that he had to deal with many times over.  Stupid and taunting.

"It's not cowardice if it get's the job done.  And no this was Keres.  Speaking of which, well done my dear.  You will indeed be rewarded."  Keres smiled with glee as she could tell he was being sincere.  Domarus looked back up to the man and thought for a moment.  He didn't have time to fight some other idiot but he supposed he could give the foolish man a chance.  It would be good Exp and he needed that very dearly.  Besides, he might have col to offer.

"I'll give you an offer my foolish sir.  If you want to escape you and I will have a little duel.  Whether you win or lose you may go, I'm bored and want entertainment.  If you refuse I'll leave you here to rot.  Sound fair?"  The man opened his mouth and shut it soon after.  He thought about it for a moment.  All that would be at risk was his own pride, which wasn't worth as much as his life.  He nodded slowly and Domarus nodded.

"Keres, would you mind getting him down for me?"

Keres nodded and moved over to unbound the man.  The figure only stared at Domarus with hatred and when the bounds were cut he landed solidly on the ground, immediately moving to draw his weapon.  Domarus' eyebrow raised when he noticed it was a two handed straight sword.  He nodded to the man.

"Well well, this might actually be interesting.  I've never fought a two handed straight sword before."  However he was planning to master that sword skill after the two handed ax.  Thus he would be paying close attention to how this man fought.  It was interesting he thought to himself, how npcs could be so developed, and yet so basic.  Each given a different personality and yet use the same patterns.  It would be interesting to see if they were all like this, or just the lower level floors.  Perhaps Kayaba made an npc or two who knew they were npcs and that players were the only things really alive.  He chuckled at the thought.  It would be very interesting indeed.  However if that were true they'd be more than npcs, they'd be artificial intelligence.  He wondered if it were possible to get an AI to serve him...  He refocused his attention on the man.

The man stared at Domarus angrily.  According to the tall man, the npc was almost nothing.  I'll show him.  I'll beat him up so badly he'll regret saying something like that!  He saw Domarus begin to think and was about to charge when he heard another blade being drawn.  He turned to see the girl Keres draw a dagger, holding it like a master would, and decided against it.  Obviously he wasn't going to get out of this easily, and if he killed the man the woman would most certainly try to kill him.  He began thinking about how he would charge in the fight.

Keres had picked up the weapon along the road.  The man originally holding it was a master of the dagger and thus she knew how a master would hold it.  She couldn't use it of course, but the appearance of being a master was usually enough to hold others at bay.  And besides, the dagger was a vanity item, though it didn't look like it.  She now stood to ensure he didn't try anything.

Foregoing action

Domarus watched as the man finally made an attack, charging at Domarus with an almighty roar.  Normally the manner in which he charged would scare off many others.  However, Domarus was not the others.  He stood there with a blank face and when the man struck at him Domarus blocked it with the long hilt before shoving the man back.  The npc stumbled for a moment but regained his balance.

"Don't tell me that's all you got!  COME ON!!!"  The npc growled and charged again, striking from underneath and using momentum to continue attacking without pause.  Domarus simply blocked each attack with his hilt and was growing really bored really fast.  Was this really all the two handed weapon could do?  Pathetic he thought.  Most likely though the sword was used in a different manner.  And If he chose to take on the weapon, then Arc could show him that manner.  Until then however he'd use his two handed ax to destroy all in his path.

The npc man growled as his intimidation charge failed utterly.  And as he struck over and over again he became more frustrated as the red haired demon seemed to be getting bored.  BORED!!!  You want enjoyment?!  I'll give you a show you'll NEVER FORGET.  The man doubled his efforts but it was all, of course, in vain.

Keres watched with anticipation, but began to get bored herself.  She called the girl out of hiding and set her on her lap, stroking the girl's head while the two watched the carnage.  The npc girl was wondering why she was with this embarrassing woman right now.

Domarus had successfully made his opponent blind by rage and thus more aggressive.  However it also meant his opponent was less accurate as well.  The man roared and swung his huge sword at Domarus who didn't even have to block, but instead swung his blade around to deflect his opponent's strikes.  As he did he decided to attempt a counter attack and prepared his strike, intending to use momentum to add to the force of the attack.  Despite his rage the npc spotted this action and moved away just in time to avoid the strike.  As Domarus swung his weapon he saw the man dodge and cursed.  Without something to stop or slow down the momentum Domarus tilted a little bit, losing his balance.  However he used his ax to push himself up right and blocked the npcs sudden counter attack just in time.  He would not lose to an npc, or to anyone for that matter.  And he would not be made a fool.

The npc had spotted the movement and barely dodged the attack in time, watching the blade graze over his hair by a centimeter.  When the attack was over he saw the tall man stumble a bit and grinned, driving in a strike of his own towards the man's heart.  However his weapon was blocked by the black ax and he growled.  How was this man able to stop him so much?  It didn't make sense!  Either way he thought, he needed to deal some proper damage otherwise he'd be in big trouble.

As Keres continued to stroke the girl's head she narrowed her eyes worriedly for a millisecond when she spotted Domarus' lack of balance but scolded herself for not having total faith in him.  The young girl watched the fight in fear but somehow knew that although Keres was strange, she was safe hands to stay in.

Domarus continued to block and deflect his opponent.  As they went back and forth Domarus watched for the right moment.  When the moment arrived he would use a sword art to dampen his foe's damage greatly.  It only required timing was all.  As the man struck more and more out of rage, Domarus saw the moment approaching.  Soon enough the man made a reckless move and raised his sword high, making his entire body vulnerable.  Domarus charged his ax and sent it at his foe, striking him hard with the blade, followed by the shockwave, knocking the man away just a little bit.  The man grunted from the strike, but then growled and swung at Domarus, making a long scratch across his torso.  Domarus backed up a bit and watched his health go down by two points, then brought up again from his gauntlets.  He glared at his foe.

The man was raging mad and was not thinking at all with strategy or tactics, but just hacking left and right attempting to get past Domarus' defenses.  He tried to pull off a strong blow against the man to break through his block, but instead of preparing one, the huge man released a powerful strike that stumbled him back a bit, but he wasn't done.  He struck at the red demon and struck across the torso.  The demon didn't even flinch and simply swung his ax again, forcing the man to block the attack.  The man wasn't sure how much longer he could fight like this.

The girl whimpered when she saw Domarus get hit, but Keres whispered,

"Don't worry my dear.  You see how he doesn't react?  His armor blocked nearly all of the damage.  This man can't kill Domarus, not in a thousand years.  It's one sided, nothing to fear."  What Keres didn't realize was that the npc girl wasn't fearful of the man, but Domarus.  The way he struck at the other man was terrifying to her.
