Quest Mob Information:

             jjAS6MPm.jpg

<<Senior Thief>> - A masked NPC in shady clothing of sand-like color wielding a dagger. Receives its(their) own dice roll!
When rolling for a thief or a group of thieves, make sure to use your own username. If you decide to do one roll for a group, the dice apply to every member of the group.
Example: on a successful hit for 'Tri Pierce' each bandit will use that specific sword art on the player with most hate in the party. In case that 2 or more players have the same highest amount of hate, the thieves will split equally in and attack those players.

Note#3: You CANNOT modify the preset stats for the thieves.
If this quest is taken as a Solo Party, the player can fight the bandits one after another using stealth mechanics. In a PP/OP the thieves spawn in groups.

Note#4: In a PP/OP, a player may attempt to skip fighting the thieves if they have invested at least 1 rank in the 'Sneak and Hide' skill; by applying the stealth mechanics. A player will still need to roll X number of times, one for each mob he/she tries to bypass. A player may try to act as bait for the group, if the thief's LD is higher than the player's 'Stealth Rating', the thief will attack the player (using that same roll dices) without alerting the other thief(s), making it possible to kill the mobs one by one. If a player bypasses any number of the required thieves, he/she can still go back and help the rest of the team; or try to bypass all, then leave the thread and finish the quest. Cassim must still be alive if this mechanic is used in the (Hero route).

Note#4A: If a player gets attacked by a thief while the rest of the team(s) fight, the player needs to fight the thieve alone until the rest finish their own fights. If a player has succeeded in getting past all the thieves, he/she will receive the rewards upon completing the quest, even if the rest of the team fails/dies. In this situation if the player is the only one to live he is allowed to double post until completing the quest.

Stats:

  • Health: 186 / Damage Mitigation: 43 / Accuracy: 2 / Savvy: 2 / Tier 2 Bleed (8-10 nat BD)
  • Basic Damage: 9 (10 on a natural BD of 9 , 11 on a natural 10 BD of 10)

Available Sword Arts / Conditions (Thief dice):
Bandits don't have an energy bar but they will use sword arts with every successful hit.

  • Infinite - 5x1*(Basic Damage) / [On a successful hit, CD roll 1-3]
  • Tri Pierce - 3x1*(Basic Damage) / [On a successful hit, CD roll 4-8]
  • Cross Edge - 2x4*(Basic Damage) / [On a successful hit, CD roll 9-10, MD roll 1-5]
  • Armor Pierce - 1x1*(Basic Damage) & Stun / [On a successful hit, CD roll 9-10, MD roll 6-10]

<<Manticore>> - A unnatural and highly implausible, mythical beast. Its body made from more than one animal part: a vaguely humanoid head with shark teeth, the body of a lion and the wings of a dragon(or bat). Its tail end in sharp and long spikes, most likely used as an instrument of attack. The Manticore receives its own Dice Roll. When rolling for it, make sure to use your own username.

Note#5: You CANNOT modify the preset stats for the Manticore.

Stats: 647 Health / 50 Damage Mitigation / Accuracy: 3 / Evasion: 2
65
Basic Damage per hit / Tier 2 Burn Damage (on a successful non-critical hit after modifiers, except a natural 8,)

Abilities:

  • Double attack: The chimera attacks twice in one turn, once on a successful BD and second on a successful MD. Evasion/Accuracy or any kind of Battle dice related action applies to the Monster dice as well. This acts as two distinct normal hits, each being mitigable.
  • Partial Phase: The chimera will always deal a minimum of 24 normal damage per hit, even through Armor and Armor Abilities/Mods. Except for the following Fire Breath attack.
  • Fire Breath: On a natural BD/MD of 8-10, the chimera will breath fire, releasing a AoE attack that will affect all players fighting it for 40 normal damage and Tier 2 Burn Damage per post, for the next 2 individual player post. It is possible to simultaneously release 2 Fire Breath attacks if the BD and MD meet the requirements for it. In this case, Burn Damage does not stack but resets post count, while the normal attack damage combines into 80 normal damage; this value is then mitigatable.

Hikoru breathed as he entered the Inn, his Orange cursor blending in with the colors, and he saw the NPC that he was to meet. He could feel the glare a mile away, and he did his best to keep a calm attitude and to not let his emotions get the best of him. He came over and took a seat across from the NPC, the Quest icon popping up in front of him. He looked at the NPC, who seemed unaffected and unfazed by his presence, but he soon knew that he would change once he saw him. He breathed and pressed the accept button, and the NPC came to life, and it looked at him, and soon the glare he had been feeling appeared.

"It's you, huh? Come to rub it in? Come to show proof that you killed my brother?" He asked. Hikoru flinched a bit, and looked the man into the eyes. "No... I came for redemption, I know you need help with something, and im here to help." He said between breaths. The man looked at him, and stroked his own beard quietly "I see... Well, I don't know if I can fully trust you, but I might as well try." He said quietly. Hikoru gave a small smile and nodded happily "Thank you."

Hikoru breathed and the NPC looked at him as he took another drink of whatever he had in his flask. He breathed and looked at Hikoru and pulled out a map, something that he had recieved from a travelling merchant awhile back, and it had information that he needed to know about the creature he had been trying to learn about. He gave a small breath and looked at the dirty brother killer and opened the map in front of him

"Alright, heres the deal. There is said to be a Manticore in this cave here. But the thing is, there is a small group of bandits in front of him. I don't know if the rumors are true or not, so I need you to go and see if it's true or not." He said. Hikoru gave a small nod and looked over the map, taking mental notes of everything that he could from the map and then stood, giving a small bow to the NPC and gave a small smile "I Promise I will do my best to see if this creature is real or not, I swear." He said with a small smile. And with that, he gave a small nod and left the bar, moving towards the direction of where he needed to go to.

Equipping his ring and replacing his Amulet, Hikoru moved forward in the direction that he hoped was the right one. He had taken notes, but this was in a new area of the map that he hadn't explored yet, so he didn't know what to expect from this. He breathed and entered the shadows easily, as there were no lamps or anything around him, nothing but the cloak of night to keep him company. He breathed and opened his HUD, opening the map and seeing that he was entering more of a mountainous range, as would be expected from the area that he had seen on the map. He continued to walk on what seemed like forever, when he came upon a cliff that had light shining from below. He crawled over to see a camp of Bandits, like he had been told. About five of them, all clad in sandy armor and squinted eyes, daggers on their side. He wished he could have some of the armor, he could have blended right in. But sadly, he didn't, so he would have to do the next best thing: Sneak around them and make his way to the Manticore's lair.

Ring Equipped. Now Sneak and Hide Rank 5. Must roll 22+ on the LD to be found because of nighttime and rocks and dunes coverage

Hikoru breathed and entered the shadows silently, going past the first their at the entrance of the camp. He was quite sleepy, and was almost asleep standing as it was, so it didn't take him that long to sneak by him and enter the camp. He quickly moved behind a nearby boulder and breathed, looking at the next four bandits. All of them were scattered about, walking around like NPC's in programmed patterns; Back and forth, in a circle, standing and looking in all directions. It would be easy to time it and pass, but it would take some time to do. He knew that he could easily pass them with his ring, but he wouldn't know until he was past all of the guards, which wasn't as easy as it sounded, but he would just have to wait and see. He breathed and crawled over to the edge of the boulder and his cover, and hopped behind a tent and it's shadow, preparing to pass the next bandit.

Hikoru breathed and moved quickly, bypassing the Bandit as silently as he could, not even picking up sand behind his feet as he ran. The Bandit was a bit more awake than the last one, but he wasn't paying much attention, as he had been taking a few sips of some whiskey that they had snatched from a passing cargo-wagon that they had raided the day before. Hikoru smelled the whiskey as he passed by, and did his best to not try and take it. He had been craving alcohol for awhile, but he knew that he had to focus on levelling up before they reached up higher levels, and he wanted to be as ready as he could for the upcoming boss fights that were to come. Hikoru came back from his zoning out and quickly hiding behind a dune to stay out of the light of their giant bonfire that was in the center of their camp. He had to be cautious, and stay focused. One slip up and a bandit could easily let the others know that he was there. He breathed and looked for the next bandit to see where he had to go next

Hikoru breathed and prepared to bypass the next Bandit, keeping low to the ground and moving past him. But this bandit was wide awake and wide-eyed, looking for anything to move. Hikoru froze as the Bandit looked right at him. The bandit stood and started to come over, and a cold sweat fell on Hikoru. He didn't know what to do, and he only had a short time before he had to move or be found. He thought for a moment, then thought of something decent. quick as a flash, Hikoru bent doen and picked up the middle part of the tent, crawling down and entering the tent. Hikoru thought he was safe, but the bandit was smart and noticed the scuffle. The bandit bent down, and Hikoru quickly went to the tent flap, and looked to see that the coast was clear, and soon went out and went behind the tent and moved to cover as the bandit scuttled under the tent to check it. Hikoru wiped the sweat from his brow and continued on silently, knowing that he needed to be a lot more careful

Hikoru breathed and prepared to bypass the next bandit, moving forward and noticing that this bandit was playing cards. Hikoru looked at his hand and saw that he wasn't going to win with that, and soon moved on without another thought. He breathed and looked at the last remaining bandit, who seemed very serious and very... Well, he couldn't tell from here. He breathed deeply and prepared to go, taking a quick glance around to see if he could locate Manticore cave ahead of time. But he couldn't see anything from here, as he was too far away and he needed to move forward, the only way that he could find the hidden Manticore cave. He sighed and watched the last Bandit's pattern and studied it, preparing to move forward and quickly get this quest done. His nerves were on edge, and the adrenaline was pumping into his system rapidly. He was on edge, and he loved it.

Hikoru breathed and continued past the last guard, who had turned around just as Hikoru had passed him, just barely missing the dark black clad shadow-master sneak right past him. Hikoru gave a breath of relaxation as he had done it easily, and gotten through the camp without a scratch. Now it was onto the big guns, the Manticore. He didn't know if he was ready, but it didn't matter. He had to get ready now. He quickly opened his HUD and pulled one of the few Tier 2 Damage potions that he had and chugged it, feeling his damage come stronger than he had before. He breathed and soon Equipped his full-damage weapon, The Eclipse of Shadows, and put away Yamkimba for now. He breathed and continued forward to start looking for the Manticore lair and finish this quest, and hopefully be done this quickly and swiftly, and be out of here before the morning comes.

Hikoru breathed and started to look around for the lair. He was expecting to have a very difficult time with finding it, but he found a trail leading to the cave, and looked in to see skeletons and pieces of fabric and armor all around the entrance, giving him the indication that this was the lair. Hikoru gulped what little bit of salivation was in his mouth and continued forward into the cave, taking his time to stay as quiet as he could. He didn't know what to expect. There was no specific information on the creature that he was going to be fighting, and he didn't know if it had any unique abilities or anything of the sort. He was nervous, but there was no turning back now, he had come this far, and he couldn't turn back now. He breathed and decided to wait a moment and see if he had everything that he would need was on him and if he was ready to fight the Manticore, probably the first ever player to do so.

Hikoru breathed and continued forward, opening his HUD and replacing his ring with his Pendant once more, preparing for the upcoming fight. He closed his HUD as he felt his ring disappear and his pendant appear around his neck. He was as ready as he could be, ready to attack the Manticore with as strong as he could. He breathed in deeply and kept moving forward towards the back of the cave. He could hear a low growl, and he gulped as he continued forward. The tearing of flesh and the sounds of pixelating could be heard echoing off the walls, and the smell of burning flesh was lodged into his nostrils. He did his best not to gag, and pulled his scarf up over his nose, breathing through it and doing his best to block out the smell of flesh from his nose, but it was still faintly there. He knew that this fight would be the worst one of a long time, and one of the first bosses he had ever fought alone, next to the one on the other Quest, <<Deforestation>>. He breathed and continued forward and hoped that this wouldn't be the end of Hikoru, The Master of Shadows.

Hikoru quickly charged forward and attacked the creature, screaming and unsheathing his dagger and flipping it into a backwards grip, jumping into the air and stabbing it in the back. The creature roared in pain as the word "CRITICAL" appeared before Hikoru. But before he could react, the creature roared and turned to him, breathing fire right into him, surrounding him. Hikoru flipped out of the way, but the flames still did their toll, and at the bottom right of his vision was the "Burn" Icon, and he knew that he would be taking some damage from this thing. He grit his teeth and continued, backing away to get out of the way of it's other attack, evading it easily and breathed deeply as he prepared for the next round of attacks. He had already gotten rid of a third of it's health easily, but for now he was still in danger, and he had to be careful if he was to continue

Hikoru breathed and continued forward, going for another strike. But the creature was expecting it, and leapt out of the way easily, but wasnt able to get out of the way of it's second attack, and took a blow. His armor blocked most of the damage, but he still took twenty-four damage, which was odd, and it must have been some sort of ability. then the burn kicked in, and he lost more of his health. He breathed and stood slowly, taking the damage and continuing forward, breathing and standing his ground, looking at the Manticore and making sure that it knew that he wasn't backing down from this fight, not one bit. He had to beat this thing, and he would make sure to not lose this fight at any cost, he wasn't going to die today, and he didn't plan to die at all, not until this game was done and over with.

Hikoru breathed and continued forward, landing a strike on the creature quite easily, but he was soon bitten in the shoulder, and he pulled out his weapon just in time to dodge the other attack. He pried the creatures jaws off his shoulder as he lost another forty-eight health from the creature. He wasn't scared, as he had dealt a good blow to the creature without much problem, and it was starting to run low on it's health. He breathed and stood slowly, grabbing his shoulder to make sure nothing was missing, and then he remembered this was a video game, and he couldn't feel the pain or lose anything for limbs, so he had nothing to worry about. He winced as his Damage shot lower, and did his best to calm his beating heart. He would be fine, he just had to be careful, and he had to stay safe. That's all he had to do. A few more hits and this thing was dead, he just had to be quick about it.

Hikoru breathed and attacked once more, leaving only a small sliver of health on the creature, but he got too cocky and got too close to the creature, and got attacked both times, taking a large chunk of health away from him. He felt the burn damage still, and he breathed as he pulled himself away from the creature, moving backward and getting away from the creature. Hikoru felt his heart rate growing rapidly as he was growing afraid for himself. His health hadn't been low for a long time, and him soloing this wasn't like him. Why had he done this? Was he trying to prove some kind of point? That he could take a boss on his own? He breathed and stood, doing his best to calm himself from overreacting. He had almost killed this thing, just one more hit, and it would be dead. One more hit, and this mission was done.

Hikoru breathed and charged, dealing the last strike to the Manticore. Before he could react, the Manticore roared, and soon materialized into nothing, and soon something dropped from where it was standing. He bent down and picked it up, and saw that it was some sort of mask. He was confused at to what it was or what it had, but by looking at it's enchants, it wasn't something that he wanted. He breathed and put it into his HUD, moving out of the cave before the thing would respawn again. He felt the burn damage still on him, but he knew that it would probably go away in a few moments.  He would be fine, there was nothing to fear now. He breathed and continued forward out of the cave to the night sky, and looked to see that the sun was coming up over the horizon. He gave a small chuckle and breathed.

"Almost didn't make it. Glad I beat it this quickly." He said with a small chuckle, and put his hands into his pockets as he walked along the walls of the bandit camp, going around without a care in the world.

Hikoru breathed and started to make his way back to town slowly. It had been a long day, and he was growing quite weary from his adventure. He wasn't one to sleep nowadays, but he felt like he had earned some R&R from this Adventure he had been on. He breathed as he soon saw the town in the distance, and squinted his eyes as the sun started to come over the horizon, and the wind started to pick up, causing the sand to pick up into his eyes. He quickly made his way into the walls of the town and hoped to get what little sand that was on his glasses wiped off, and soon he was ready to enter the tavern once more. He felt a squirm in his scarf, and soon his Familiar's head popped out, and he gave a small laugh as the creature popped out and appeared onto his shoulder. He scratched his small chin and it rubbed against his fingers, and he gave a small sigh and continued into the direction of the tavern that the NPC was waiting for him

Hikoru breathed and entered the Tavern. He immediently noticed where he needed to go, and the NPC looked right at him with a small smile. He walked over and bowed to the man before taking a seat in front of him. His familiar landed on the table and sniffed around as the two men at the table locked eyes and just stared for a moment. No words needed to be shared for the moment. the NPC knew that Hikoru had been in the battle, his health was low and he had scorch marks on his armor. So he knew that something had happened, but he didn't know what

"What did you find? Anything?" He asked the player. Hikoru was at a standstill. What did he do? Keep it? Hurt the man again? He couldn't decide on what to do. He knew that if he took it, that it could probably be useful to some other player. But at the same time, it also meant that he hadn't changed from when he took the first quest, and he was still a horrible person from there. He breathed and opened his HUD as the NPC raised an eyebrow

Hikoru gave a small sigh and pulled out the mask and handed it to the NPC. It was speechless for a moment, muttering to himself in some foreign language that he couldn't understand, and soon he stood to his feet, still staring at the mask in his hands

"Eh? so it's all true???" he asks while staring at the Chimera Mask in his hands. Still, didn't seem as surprised as you'd expect him to be, hinting that maybe such implausible things weren't a strange sight to him. He quickly gets over and starts fooling around with the mask as he heads towards the Tavern's exit. "Almost forgot!" he adds as he turns around and handed Hikoru a pouch full of Col coins. "It isn't much but I'll be in your dept." he adds as he leaves the tavern with the mask on his face bouncing around happily, like a kid that got a new toy. In the same time, the Quest Ending Window popped up in front of Hikoru, displaying his hard earned rewards.

Hikoru gave a sigh and a small smile as the man ran with the mask out the door, the happiest man that he had seen in a long time. He grabbed the Col and accepted the Quest Completed page and received his SP he had earned, and he gave a small sigh and stood slowly, his familiar grabbing onto his hand and curling up onto his shoulder, as they made their way out of the tavern quietly, trying to not disturb the other players and NPC's that were getting ready for the day with a quick drink or a meal, and he breathed and continued out of the town until he was soon outside the town and back to the fields. He gave a small sigh and continued forward into the dunes until he came to a teleporter and stood on it, breathing and putting his hands in his pockets

"Teleport, Floor 10." He said, and soon he was transported to his new home floor, and the darkness and shadows consumed him once more. He was home.

Hikoru sighed deeply and continued on, taking multiple twists and turns before he came to his little alcove, the place he had called home for awhile now. His Ferret Familiar, Sutetchi hopped down his shoulder onto the rocky ground, running over to its small bed and curling up in it, falling asleep quickly. Hikoru gave a small sigh and went over and started a small fire so he could see around him, and soon the room was covered in an ominous glow. He gave a small sigh and laid down on his cot, staring up at the dark, dark ceiling where no light was, the orange glow of the fire flickering and being swallowed by the darkness. He breathed and wished for his home on the third floor again, where he could look out his window and look at the night sky and look at the stars and constellations. He missed it, and there was no way to get it back without doing one Quest... But he didn't feel like he was ready, not yet.
