[PP-F4] Snowfall (Kasier)

Recommended Posts

Cold was a good word to describe this floor. Despite that, Aoda still found the environment around him to be quite beautiful. It was his first time travelling to Snowfrost Town, the main settlement on Floor 4. "I should have at least brought a scarf or something." He muttered with a faint chuckle. This town, unlike the Town of Beginnings on Floor 1, was very peaceful and there weren't nearly as many players on the streets.

Aoda strolled by many small shops and cafes, which he was eager to enter, but he decided to save them for another time. Today, he just felt like relaxing in the snow. A few snowflakes found their way onto the young man's dark hair as he continued down the road. Eventually, the path he had been taking came to an end. He had arrived in the center of town, which was even more charming than the rest of it. Aoda took a seat on a nearby bench and let out a soft yawn. Then, to make himself a bit more comfortable, he leaned back and closed his eyes.

Kasier didn't particularly like this floor. The scenery was brilliant but the temperature and the snow that blinds whomever arrives on this floor was too bothersome for Kasier to actually enjoy anything on this floor. The only good memory, well, the only memory in general of this floor was the guild meeting and a date that she had gone on with Itzal a couple of weeks ago. So why was she here on a snowy day of the fourth floor? Well, she had been looking for Ariel's shop in order to pick up the item that she had requested from Ariel. However, it slipped her mind that the shop was located on the eleventh floor instead of the fourth and hence, she had been wandering around the entirety of the fourth floor settlement over and over again, hoping to finally catch glimpse of the front liner's shop. Little did she know, her mistake would lead to a new story with a blue-haired man that she knows nothing about.

"How bothersome," she said to herself, looking at the white mist that came out of her mouth as she spoke, "Where could this shop possibly be located?" She looked around, noticing that she had arrived at the center of the fourth floor, one of the more appealing spots here. Hm? She thought, noticing a man sitting on the benches and seemed to be dozing off. "Good morning sir. Do you happen to know where a shop owned by Ariel is?"

Suddenly, Aoda found his eyes open once again. Standing in front of him was a fairly good-looking woman. She had dark hair and eyes as red as blood. When she had asked if he'd known where the shop owned by Ariel was, he looked back at her, confused. "I'm sorry, I don't even know who Ariel is, let alone the location of her shop." He replied truthfully. Although she was only a stranger, Aoda felt like the right thing to do would be to help her out. "I'd be happy to help you find it, if you'd like." The dark-haired player added.

To be honest, he had literally no idea what he was getting himself into. No knowledge of who the dark-haired woman was, who Ariel was, or the vicinity of the shop. That was often the case with Aoda. He was the kind of guy who would say yes to pretty much anything asked of him and he would usually offer his help even if they didn't ask. Helping people in need made him feel good inside, so he did it. For a moment, however, he sat patiently on the bench, waiting for a response from the girl.

Kasier felt hesitant to answer the offer that the man had just suggested. She had been searching for this shop for a while now and with the inclusion of someone else who didn't know where this shop was, it was certain that he would only delay her progress even more. However, there was also the chance that he was extremely lucky and hence, Kasier finally decided that she would agree with a sigh. Plus, if she had already spent such a long time searching for this shop, it was kind of inevitable that she won't find it if she kept on going like this. Perhaps having another person will trigger her luck and help her find the high-leveled player's shop which holds the dress that she needs for a later occasion. Besides, it would be nice to finally get a new costume to wear instead of always wearing heavy armor. It was getting kind of boring at this point and she knew that that was how this game was ran.

"Very well. I shall accept your offer to assist myself in searching for this shop." Kasier said, "I've been searching for quite a while now. Perhaps you know of a better method than to roam this floor in hopes of getting lucky and stumbling upon this shop?" If only I ordered the dress myself instead of asking Itzal to order it for me. Maybe then, I won't have to look around aimlessly like this. What a waste of time. She complained in her mind.

He really did not have a better way of finding the shop, however, two people looking was definitely better than one. "Where have you looked so far, so we know what areas of the town to avoid?" Aoda inquired, standing up from his comfortable spot on the bench. The town was fairly large, so he had assumed the dark-haired girl hadn't checked everywhere. Suddenly, the boy realized he hadn't yet asked her name. "By the way, my name is Aoda." He told the girl before holding out his hand to shake her own.

The noirette scanned the town. Where to start... He thought, attempting to make a decision. "How about we check over there?" Aoda asked, pointing towards a decently crowded street in the distance. He wasn't sure whether or not Ariel's shop was often as packed as the street that he hoped was outside it. As he began to walk forward, he thought about what kind of shop the girl they were looking for might own. A blacksmith or tailor maybe? He could really use either of the two, since his gear was less than useful. Perhaps she was an alchemist or an artisan. Or maybe even a fisherman, although Aoda doubted that, since their weren't many in Aincrad.

"Where have I looked so far?" Kasier repeated the question, beginning to take a few steps. "I've looked through most of the mainstream market areas but it's possible if I accidentally missed the shop in a place that is very obvious. It does seem to happen to me quite often to be honest... I would not be surprised if I missed the shop in plain sight." However, before she could begin to actually walk, the player held out his hand and introduced himself in which Kasier responded with caution. It had always been a problem for her to introduce herself to someone that she doesn't know. Honestly, she really didn't know why this was the case, but she was fairly sure that it was the concept that anything in this game could be used against you in one way or another. Eventually, she would have to get used to giving out her username to those that she really don't know that well. "The name is Kasier." She exclaimed simply, holding out her hand as well to shake the dark-haired man's hand - a symbol of acquaintance. "There? Sure. I have already checked that area but like I said before, it is more than likely that I wasn't very careful in attempting to locate this shop. Once again, I thank you for taking your time from today to help me with this search." She thanked him, looking around and already beginning with her search. "By the way, Aoda, what level are you? It seems most high leveled players usually do not loiter around very often but are always constantly at work to try and get better. Perhaps you are around level 20 or so? Maybe you even have a profession?" She asked a few questions, trying to stir up some conversation. To her, the man didn't seem high leveled, but he didn't feel very low-leveled either.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kasier. It's no problem, really. I enjoy helping." The raven-haired player smiled. As they continued forwards, he listened to the young woman's question. It wasn't a bad inquiry, however he was surprised she couldn't tell his level by his clothing, a light set of beginner's armor. Aoda was a bit annoyed that he'd need to tell Kasier that he was only level one, although they had been in the game for so long, but it really couldn't be helped. "I'm the lowest level you could possibly be in this game; I'm level one. A little embarrassing, but whatever.", He chuckled, "And no, I don't have a profession. However, I've wanted to take up that cook profession for quite a while, seeing as I've always loved cooking for myself and others."

He then stopped speaking for a moment, realizing he had started rambling. "Sorry, I'm usually not one to talk about myself so much. What about you, do you have a profession?" Aoda questioned. If he'd at least known what kind of shop this "Ariel" girl was running, he'd be able to narrow it down at least a little bit by himself. From first glance, the woman looked like she could be maybe a tailor or an artisan, but he wasn't certain which.

"That's unfortunate. However, it's never too late to progress through this game." Kasier stated simply. She hadn't really started leveling right off the bat either and as a result, she had had a lot to catch up to as a healer in order to become eligible for the front lines. Although Kasier was not going to participate in the floor 20 boss fight, she would definitely be participating in the floor 21 boss fight as a healer, watching out of the health of other player and making sure that their health points do not drop down too low. That would be the job that she completes during the next boss fight but that will not be her role for very long. After her investment in first aid and the healing build, she will go for a tanking build, a class which is in deep need by the front lines. "Ah yes," Kasier said, "I did take up the profession of being a cook quite a while ago. However, I'm just not motivated by cooking anymore. It's simply too much effort with little productivity. It's not worth it for me to continue on with the profession... But that is how a profession is. If you want to make a profit, you have to take a risk. If you fail, so be it, but if you do succeed at that little chance, then, great." She said, realizing that she had rambled on for too long. "It's about noon now. Maybe one more hour for searching and we can grab a quick lunch as well. How about it?" Kasier sighed. Little to no progress was being made at the moment and if she had known from before, she would've just ignored the man who was sleeping on the bench. However, once she had asked him for help, she needed to repay him in some way, which she thought lunch was more than fitting to do so.

"I agree. That's why I've decided that I'd like to help out those on the frontlines. Kasier, you seem to carry much more knowledge about this game than I do. What do you think the best way to become stronger is in a world like this?" Aoda inquired. There were various reasons that the young man had not left the comfort of a safezone since entering the death game, but the main thing he'd tell himself was "I am afraid." But seeing how many other players fought for the lives of everyone in Aincrad, was it a reasonable excuse? Just like everyone else, he had people he wanted to get back to in the real world and the noirette believed it was time to finally put in some work to do so.

Suddenly, Aoda's thoughts were interrupted by the voice of the woman beside him. It had been a while since someone had offered him lunch, but he wasn't the type of guy who liked accepting a person's money. "I'd love lunch, but I have no col to pay." He replied to the girl.

"Col? Even a healer such as I have the Col to buy enough food for me to last years. Food from NPCs are beyond cheap, I wouldn't mind paying for you if you wish. Maybe I'll even charge interest for it." Kasier said, the last part was supposed to sound like a joke, but knowing Kasier, whatever she said seemed serious. And hence, Kasier kept searching. The was still light yet cold. And she wished that she had been to the shop before, then, she would not have to search so much for this shop. Still, whenever she felt like giving up, she would remind herself that Felix had gone through the trouble of searching for this dress for her... Just for the special occasion. Soon, the snow hailed down upon the players of the fourth floor and what seemed like a few snow flickers soon turned into a downpour of white, frozen precipitation. There was no hope in searching any longer, they would have to find a warm tavern to hide from the snow at this point. "We can talk about leveling in this game once we find a tavern to eat at. If you want to stay out here in the cold, feel free to do so. But if I were you, I would come with me also." She stated plainly, walking into the nearest and biggest tavern that she just so happened to walk by. "The snow is coming down faster and it doesn't seem like the snow will stop any time soon."

Back on the same snowy floor that he had met the blonde in last time. Sey did not really have much else to do, and seeing the blissful wintery sights was a treat for him. Even if it was deemed to be the floor that was depressing, he himself enjoyed it. However, yellow and black stood out very much from the sleet that was present. On top of that, two green crystals to go along with them as well. So he would approach them, seeing what they were up to. Nosy, absolutely. But if it was time for him to comfort someone, he might as well take the chance. Upon arrival, he noticed that the first one was the healing paladin. A part of him wanted to mess with her and have two coffees, one for her and one for him. But he decided that he might as well not do it, not in front of the guest. "Hey there Kasier. Who's the friend you have over here?"

Thread is Inactive - Sey and I will finish off the rest of the thread with four-liners

Kasier sighed, it was unfortunate that she was yet to find where the shop was. The longer she went without finding the shop, the less inspiration she had to get what she needed from the shop. This search was going no where... And she will make no progress if the search continued to be as unproductive as it currently is. Perhaps there is someone else that can search for her... Maybe there is someone that knows exactly where the shop is so she would not have to find it herself. Kasier looked around and saw Sey coming towards her to greet her - a greeting he had offered but perhaps a greeting too informal for her. Kasier's blonde hair flew as she turned her head, looking at the white-haired man. "This is Aoda. He was assisting me with searching for Ariel's shop but no result so far. Do you happen to know where this shop may be?" Kasier asked.

"Oh absolutely. I have been there. It's a bit pricy, but by far one of the fastest shops to ever make things. I got a good crafting item from there that to this days works well... Now enough with my rambling. Follow me if you will, it's really not that far." It was going to take a bit of time, about a couple of minutes at best, but that was not really anything compared to how much players who were lost had to walk. If they were unable to find it, Sey guiding them along should be able to do the trick. "It's nice to meet ya Aoda." But he would not give his name to the player. He was an escort, he was not a guaranteed friend to the player, if that was what one might even think of such an encounter to be. Building up a friendship required at least a few moments, and he did not just give the name loosely... Not without build up.

Kasier nodded. It was evident that Sey was more experienced and had more of an idea of where the place is. Also, the man seemed to know where the place was perfectly. Indeed, Sey would be of more help to her than Aoda and hence, Kasier waved the man goodbye. They had been making no progress before Sey arrived. "Let us head out immediately. However, it is getting quite late now. I wonder if the place will be closed by the time that we arrive. If it is, I shall go at a different date so it doesn't matter. I just need to know approximately where the place is." Kasier said, following the man as he began to lead. After Kasier arrives and finishes up this journey, she shall definitely go star gazing. The night is a good one - she can already tell despite it not being dark yet.

"It's not generally around this area, but you guys were not too far off either. We are about a good five minutes away from an approximation of where it is. I can't explain at this distance though... Thanks to the snow." he would continue to walk down the snowy ground that the floor provided as he was forcing more weight into his steps just to get a move on. His blood felt a little bit less than warm, but nothing extreme since this time, he was a lot more prepared. With Hecta's bliss coat, he was able to keep himself near warm for days before it eventually wore off the warmth effect. Placing his hands in his pockets, he would then ask her a question just to pass the time. "You don't need to say if you don't wanna, but what are you looking for there?" He could give her a good word from Sey with a note or something for Ariel.

"I am looking for something that raises my evasion. I might need it when I head towards the DPS build after I master all the builds that I am working towards at the moment. I won't need it any time soon so it will be fine if we can't get to the shop immediately. It would be great, though, if we can at least arrive at the place so you can show me where it is and hence, I will be able to come back and purchase the item that I need." Kasier explained, continuing to follow the man as her face was being bombarded by the powerful snow that came down like hail but was not quite ice. This was one of the few beautiful traits that this game provided for its players - powerful blizzard yet no power to hurt the players. Although it blocks the view, it only adds to the view of beauty.

"All right, then yeah. She should have you covered then. Despite her... Ways, you can't take away the fact that she definitely has mastered her craft. We are nearing the shop now." He would explain as he would continue to carry on through the town. It was emptier at night for obvious reasons, but that made things easy since they could not get lost through crowds, nor did they have to suffer being forced to push their ways through. Eventually, he would then arrive to a certain isolated building with a vintage sort of design. "The lions den. This should be it. Not sure if it's open or not, but you will be coming back at a different time anyways. This is where it is, in case you needed to go there." Sey explained as he would just stand there, waiting to see what she would say.

"Thank you very much then." Kasier said, looking at the white haired man as the party of two arrived at the destination. The Lions Den. That is a very good shop name, a good shop name for scaring people away at least. What if one walks in and is bombarded by a den of lions? Kasier shivered, not from the thought of lions because that idea was absolutely bizarre but rather from the coldness of the floor. Now that she had found the place, she didn't really have much else to do since Sey had already helped her out with finding this place, she would no longer trouble him with anything else. Kasier's emotions did not change as she began to talk once more, "Like I said, I will return to this location once again on a different date. Thank you very much. I shall take my leave now." She stated simply, turning around to leave yet with no destination on mind. Maybe I can still get some materials even if it's quite late now. She thought.

"Farewell for now then. See ya later." With that said, he would flick his pointer and middle finger together out to the right side, turning back. This was no place for him to find materials. As for anything else there was for him to do? Eh, nothing he was quite able to remember anyways, and nothing noteworthy either. So what were they to do now? Well, whatever they did in their usual lives. Sey himself was going to be sleeping at his shop, since he was not quite able to buy himself a house yet. It was nothing too big of a deal though, making deals and negotiations were what he did best. he might even try to the four-thousand col in a box trick if he needed to, nothing too big of a deal for him. But for now, it was a done deal, and he felt mentally tired, continuing on probably was not going to be the best of ideas if he had to be honest with himself.

And that was the day over. She had originally wanted to go material seeking but soon, she decided that it wasn't worth the effort and it would be easier simply to head home settle for the night so she can be well-rested for tomorrow - a day that she will probably spend doing absolutely nothing again. That's all she seemed to do nowadays. Kasier sighed, I need to spend more time with people. She thought, watching Itzal's shop at a distance before opening the door and heading up into her room and closing the door. I need some alone time. She thought, putting on her pajamas and laying on the bed. Before she knew it, she had found herself in dream land. This time, it was a place filled with candy and cupcakes - generic white girl dream (jk). Suddenly, the pink clouds up in the sky turned black. And down came a man with a scythe. Death. That was his name. With that, she woke up with a quiet scream.
