[PP-F6] Singers Catchiing Up <Itzal and Esper>

Recommended Posts

Itzal had heard of yet another quest on this floor.  He had tried to make sure there was but nobody confirmed it so he just had to check it out himself.  However when he had made it to the supposed area, it turned out to be a very big dud.  No quest, no npc, no chest, monster.  Nothing.  So Itzal had to make his way back to the teleporter in the town to head off to another floor.  However there was only one problem.  The npcs in the village, all women for some reason, had become attracted to him after the gemini quest and he couldn't freaking get them off of him.  Normally on this floor he would finish a quest, they'd have already moved back in town like normal, and he'd sneak past to the teleporter.  However they were still keeping an eye out for him and thus there was no possible way for him to get through without being swarmed by them.  Normally it was just three or four of them, but even one was annoying.  If Kasier were here and saw that.......  He decided not to think about what would happen.  Then of course he did and he imagined the entire village massacred.  They'd respawn of course but then he'd have to try to explain.  And yet he knew she'd understand.  He sighed and sat in the shadows of the bushes, freaking waiting for them to lose interest.

Upon the blossom of a new day, a presumably boring one at that, Esper would be caught on the six floor of the floating castle of Aincrad. Why, one might wonder? The answer was simple, honestly. She was craving new scenery! As she was still a low level, she hadn't embarked to the floor without a small note of staying in or near the safe zone, but all she really needed was a crisp sense of ease in the grasp of something unfamiliar, and maybe then she'd retreat to a floor more appropriate to her current standards. The white haired little girl stood on the balls of her feet, tautly peering around at the common structure of the anti crime area. Strangely, there weren't as many players as she's assumed there would be, save for a handful near the fountain, but NPC's took up a good chunk of space, making the town seem cramped without the presence of any actual player traffic. It was claustrophobic. Rough.

Despite the mild anxiety of being cramped that forced Esper to the outer, entrance to the town (or exit), the girl seemed to be in a balanced mood. She shrugged her arms back, a small yawn faltering upon her otherwise steady frame. The red tint in her eyes glinted off of the sun as she glanced a single time out into the green that betrayed the solitude of cobblestone she stood upon, and just then, something caught her eye. No, it was someone. From her distance to the figure, it wasn't possible to make out a face, but something in her mind flickered at the familiar look of the armor. Could it be...?

Itzal did not enjoy waiting for those women to leave.  It was very frustrating and he did not want to be discovered by them any time soon.  As he leaned against the tree in his twilight cloak (a deep purple trench coat with silver vest and dark brown pants) his detection mod spotted a nearby player.  He narrowed his eyes, enhancing his vision and his eyes widened with surprise.  Could that be?  It had been a while but there was no doubt that it was Esper.  He smiled then his cheeks flushed a little at the thought of yet another female on this floor.  He shook it off though but there was a problem.  She noticed him but that wasn't it.  The problem was that the four girls, those same npcs who kept coming after him.  Followed her gaze.  Itzal banged his head against a tree before opening his inventory and pulled out paper and something to write with.  He wrote down the following message.

Quote

Esper its Itzal.  I'm drawing a quick map for you to get to me.  Meet me in this clearing.  PLEASE KEEP THOSE FOUR NPCS FROM SEEING THE MAP

He folded it into a paper airplane and switched his gear to his Niger Natio, covering himself in the black dark folds of the cloak.  He then leaped over the fallen tree and dashed full speed to the town gates.  The women lit up when they confirmed it was him and started calling for him but he said nothing.  When he was close enough he threw the paper airplane with incredible speed and force, pushing it towards Esper.  By the time it reached her it had slowed down immensely and was slow enough for her to catch.  The other four were also almost on her, trying to see what Itzal had thrown.  While they did he turned and rushed into the amazon, leaping into the trees and made it to the clearing.  Dang this was annoying he thought.

The swordswoman squinted slightly, in a small attempt to confirm her suspicions about the resemblance in clothing. It sent sirens through her head. Only, once she saw the freshly equipped, unmistakable black clothing, it was exactly who she suspected. Itzal! Wow, it must have been almost three months since she'd seen him! She concluded to wave at him, but before she called out his name, she caught herself. Or rather, his movements towards her direction had crammed the greeting down her throat. Although, she had to consider just a small predicament. Why was he all the way over there? He could be hiding from someone, or something, but without trying to blend in, he was doing a poor job. A short chortle escaped as she recalled that this was similar to their very first encounter with each other. "Such a strange guy..." She murmured. She quickly snapped back to attention though, as she realized that he'd taken a sharp turn in the other direction. What?! It was only until a split moment later that she noticed a white object swindling in the wind of his rush. She plucked it from the sky, ignoring the commotion from the women nearby. "Please keep those...." She read the note in silence upon seeing the warning. Then, she glanced over, and came to the realization that she was being stared down. A frown broke upon her face as her cheeks puffed out, her arms finding spots on her hips, displaying a haughty attitude. "Buzz off, will ya! He's not interested!" Her last note made her snort inside, because she got the groans and pouty expressions she was aiming for. A little bit of discouragement couldn't hurt his situation, whatever it was, anyway.

Esper downloaded the data onto her HUD, the map marking the location of the clearing with two consecutive beeps. She kept light on her feet, rushing until she'd met her destination. The girl doubled over, her hands on her knees as she exhaled raggedly. "Cut it out with the hiding, the Girl Scouts didn't see anything!"

Itzal waited in the branches of the trees, scanning the entire vicinity to make sure no npc or monster came near.  While he did find a monster or two that he needed to dispose of there really wasn't much, which he was thankful for.  By the time Esper arrived he checked one more time, his detection mod allowing him to detect at a farther range than most players, before he leaped down to the ground.  As he switched his armor to his Twilight Cloak again he said, "I'm sorry about that.  They've been a real bother lately.  On another note, how've you been Esper?"  He truly meant it.  He loved making friends and he hoped that they could hang out more frequently now that they found each other again.  Even if their reunion wasn't the best.  On Itzal's left hip was Ascendant's Rosario, a one handed long sword that was colored icy blue and on his right hand was a ruby ring with golden lining.  He sighed and sat down on a fallen log.  "A lot's happened since we've seen each other I have to admit.  It's good to see you in any case though."

Once the girl had swallowed a few gulps of air, she stood upright again, a short huff escaping her chest. the boy sat on the log before her, but she chose instead to stand, her breathing becoming calm again. She cast him a single glance, then looked out, off in the direction she came. "Odd that NPC's are acting out like that, don'tcha think? I guess it's nothing." Esper paused after this, and turned towards Itzal again. "It has been a good while, hasn't it? You still look like you, though, so that's a plus. But don't worry about me, I've been alright. Little material gathering here, little walking aimlessly there, nothing dangerous." She took a seat next to him upon the worn log, a little distanced due to a fissure in the trunk. She folded her hands against the exterior, taking a hint of a second to compare its texture to that of reality. Silence pursued for a minute or two, and she hadn't an idea of what to say. They've been away from each other for a while, which should yield multitudes of questions, but she found herself stuck. "And you? How are ya?"

Itzal smiled when she said she was fine.  It sounded like she had been taking it easy lately, which he sometimes envied.  He was an active person and while it helped him catch up to the other players and keep up with them, it was also a curse at times.  Sometimes he took on more than he could chew in one day.  It was good to hear other players were taking it slow instead of gunning things like he had.  He nodded.  "I'm glad to hear your doing alright.  Too many players have been disappearing of late."  After that she seemed to have become silent and he saw where her focus was on, wondering what she was thinking of.  With the silence taking over his right hand, the ruby ring with gold lining on the finger beside the pinkie, tapped to a random tune that popped in his head.  When Esper spoke again turned to her with a smile.  "I've been doing pretty good.  Being a scout isn't very easy since there's not much use for the build anymore, and it's really difficult to master, but other than that it's well.  The guild I'm a part of will be setting up events soon, making new friends.  Man, so much has happened...  Where did Velnia run off to?  If there's bunnies in this floor that would explain it I guess."
