[SP-F3] Found Em! <<Search for the Hoya>>

Recommended Posts

The quest suggested that he needed to kill one of the enemies in order to get the job done. So that was exactly what he planned to do, since he was not a scout, thus looking for the both of them would serve to be a difficult task, one that he did not have time for. However, before doing so, he needed to get warmed up for the battle that was to come. So he figured that he would take this chance to nail two birds with one stone. What were the birds? Obviously, one of them was the quest. But the second bird was to test the monsters that were residing on this floor, seeing how far they are able to go in combat against him and if he could take them on as a group. If so, then things would be a lot more interesting. Besides, Sey did not feel like he really needed all of his energy to defeat them anyways. So with this in mind, he would prepare himself to venture off into the fields. Though on this floor, the equipment he might have could be considered questionable.

Out to the fields would go Sey, as he would make his way out to search for the hoya. However, the encounters were different... Though if that is they case, then they promised some new rewards, right? Maybe it would not hurt to try out one of them. After all, it's not like he'll be going back to this floor for too long unless some enemies provided a real good amount of loot. But unless that is the case, then perhaps he won't arrive again. It was time to find this out. Lashing out his spear, he would attempt to get the attention of one of the encounters out in the distance, seeing how it would react to the lashing. It seemed to notice him, turning around suddenly after hearing the noise. Once it faced the player, Sey confirmed it to be a... Minotaur... See, he would have probably been a lot less disappointed with a boar. At least that somewhat was credible for it's floor. But this was WAY beyond extreme.

The snow-haired player would start the battle off, charging towards the minotaur with an outstretched spear as he dashed, causing it to swarm with blue light once again before he raised the blade up, ready to strike for the head. the monster would emit a loud roar-like noise as it would try to strike once Sey got within arm range, using it's right fist as it went towards the ground. He narrowly avoided the attack by leaping over towards the left side, a risky form of dodge that worked in his favor. While he was at the side, he would take advantage of the side exposed soft stomach of the enemy before slicing it using Furious spike. One huge jab to the stomach, and the minotaur would be launched into the air as the red sign showed above it's head, showing the severity of the impact.

Of course, angering a beast was a sure way of getting damage done onto oneself as well. This was the third floor, so one could expect damage from the impact. It would look to rush him this time, using a surprisingly high amount of speed to strike a fist into his stomach, knocking him off of his feet and a little bit away. But he successfully landed thanks to the mitigation that blocked most of the impact. Sey would then look to seek revenge by using the same Sword Art again, Furious Spike. Thrusting out his right hand towards the enemy, he would end up striking it's stomach again with a major amount of knockback, slamming it towards the ground and taking it down from the green zone to the yellow zone of the health bar, and just barely as well.

The minotaur was clearly ambitious in trying to inflict damage, the impact it had put out was massive compared to the boars, which seemed like children's hits. It was only because of the armor that he was able to even stand up properly the way he was right now. But that could all change soon. This fight suggested otherwise, as the speed of the monster was heavily reduced, probably due to the lack of vitality. Opening up the sword arts once again, he would spam the Furious Spike Sword Art to inflict the damage onto the minotaur, rushing it before it could get up from the ground. Upon impact, it would shatter to cute little pieces of data and dissolve, eventually dropping loot for him to enjoy as well. A surprisingly brief battle unfortunately.

Looks like he was able to take care of himself pretty easily up on the higher floors as well. Not to get too cocky though, he would rather not end up having karma come back and haunt him. But he was pretty confident in himself now. If he put all of his energy into it, he can handle any enemy on this floor as well. Or so that was what he liked to believe. But according to the game, he still had a long way to go before he actually got to the destination he was aiming for, which was a balance build. The next thing he wanted to aim for was a healing skill that would help out his party. It would be enhanced with the skill mod for it as well, so he would be able to heal while fighting on foot as well. It was a simple but effective plan.

He would continue to walk through the fields, though his mind was far off what he was supposed to be doing, showing how much of a concern he had for the quest. Sey figured that he would probably just take it down in the three strikes he used to take down the smaller version of it. Of course, he would have to restore his energy, but to even enter inside of the maze would probably be more than enough time for him to gain back the energy he lost in that fight, and he did not even feel too tired from the ending of it as well. So what does one learn from hearing that? Placing his hands in his pockets, he would then continue on, now wondering about where in the outskirts where the maze would be located. Perhaps he needed a refresher about what the quest was supposed to have him do.

Upon looking at the description, he needed to find the forest of wavering mist. Sey had never been there, much to anyone’s surprise, surely. But that did not mean that he did not know the location. For someone to have a few abilities later on, he needed to know what a scout can think like. And they would think to use the map for help, which can be easily used by any player, not just a scout. By this time, he felt himself being a bit refreshed as well in the process of having his body being restored from amount of energy he had used in the past. Placing his finger on the map, he would trace his finger over towards the direction of a few trees. This would show him that he needed to move more towards the east rather than the north like he had been doing.

So he would move his body towards that more favorable direction instead, choosing to be wise about his decision and taking out his spear in case any more of the minotaurs try to strike. Of course, Sey was the one who went to combat with it first, and they seemed to be less aware than the boars… But that still let the chance of them possibly attacking from behind him. Most certainly it did. Anyways, he would pace towards that direction, noticing that the scene around him was slowly growing darker and darker. Perhaps an effect from the area surrounding him? Or maybe the quest? Out in the distance would be a few trees, which showed that the forest of wavering mist was around. If that is the case, the darkness was caused by some form of dark mist if the player had to guess. As long as survival was active, it could not hurt him, so he would go without worry.

Among the darkness, he would notice that the scene was growing a lot more eerie, rather than the happier tone that there was once back in the past when he was fighting. The sky was once blue, but it seemed rather sudden for it to be nighttime. Yet the sun was not too visible, and any part of its light that it would emit would have red instead of the usual tint of yellow he would have expected. And among the darkness, it struck a bit more intimidation. Seems like he was nearing the maze. He would continue to walk, trying to be as unphased by the scenes around him as much as he could, though not all of the attempt was successful. His footsteps paced faster and faster as he moved through the land, hoping to get there quickly so he did not get spooked out. This was going to be a fun ride

It wa a sudden crash with the wall of the maze in which he would realize that he was there. The maze was in front of him, though the actual entrance was a few steps towards the right. Shaking his head from the somewhat painful impact with the weird earthy wall, he would move towards the side and peer his head in, seeing what might have been inside. Unfortunately, his eyes would end up meeting a wall, meaning that the only thing there for him would be a road for him to go forward into. It seemed more like a horror game rather than an MMORPG game to him, but he did not have much of a choice in the matter. It was a quest, despite how much of a game of pac-man it seemed to be. So with a small bit of hesitance, he would enter the maze, hoping for survival at the very least.

His spear was ready, glowing in blue light as he would prepare to using a sword art. That was half of the reason, but the other part was for him to see very far. It was not like he last accuracy due to the darkness or anything, it was just simply because he wanted to see what was out in the distance before it could notice him. The flaw in his plan was that light would also attract the monsters that he so desperately did not want to run into. Using common sense, one might figure out that the light served to also be a beacon for those outside of it, not just the one who was casting it out. This did not seem to be on Sey’s mind, as he felt definite about it. So he would advance further without giving it any more of a second thought, which he should.

Sey decided to put things in perspective. There were two beasts there in the tombs that were looking for him in the maze. Or, anything that comes in their way. And he was looking for one of them. Then if he got through one of them, the pendent would appear, right? That was his best guess, not that there was much else for him to go off of anyways. So with about as much confidence as one might have expected, he would end up meeting an unfortunate fate. A fork in the path. And it went three ways, none of which seem to hold any differences in them. Seeing how the paths were all layered out and coated in darkness, none seemed to make too much of a difference. So he decided to do things the scientific method. Starting from the left. Eeny, Meenie, Myny, Mo. It was the center path.

Onward through the second path it was! Sey let luck decide for him, and he would proceed to enter through the middle. Unlike the story where there was a magic thread for him to lay down, the white haired boy did not set down any form of method for him to use to trace back towards the entrance. So what was he planning to use? Honestly, he was going based on the memory. Besides, how hard could it be to remember a straight line? However, it was also easy to lose track of where a being came from if they just came out from a battle. This was something not considered in the slightest bit, and that would have made the difference between a bliss and a bitter end. So as he trekked, he would hear a little growl in the distance ahead of him, and perhaps he chose the right path, but he did not feel like he did.

And there it was. A giant beast, the boss monster for the quest. It was a minotaur, and one that seemed a lot more dangerous than the previous. While about the same height, it seemed to have a much more dangerous look to it. The lack of lighting most certainly made up for that, but that was probably not just the only aspect to it as well. Not only that, but how wide those eyes were as well, they were staring him down from such a distance. Such an intimidating creature… But there was a quest to be done. So Sey did it, he daringly placed up his spear, prepared to take it on. It would emit a sudden shocking loud battlecry in the form of a roar before charging his way. Clenching his teeth, he would not give in to his doubts as he too charged towards it as well. And so they began their dance.

He would aim to use Furious Spike first, quickly trying to put this battle to an end before it could start. The enemy was going down, regardless of how much he thought that would not be the case. Coating the spear in blue light, he would move his body out towards it, throwing his right arm out to thrust the tip of the weapon through the enemy. In return, it would land a huge first upon his body, causing him to slide back against the ground before he would then end up causing the minotaur to shatter to pieces all of a sudden. The green bar did not even hit red, it just shattered all of the way. It was beautiful, and painfully disappointing at the same time. In fact, Sey was not even that intimidated anymore, it just looked big and tough, but it was so soft and defeated in one hit.

Well, time to get out of there. Nothing left to do in this scene! Sey would quickly back up and away, not looking to get in any more fights. Sure, he ended up getting a pendent from it as well as a few skill points as well. But honestly, that was pretty useless for him right now. Well, save for the latter, and the fight was not too worth it. He was expecting a little more thrill. But he only had himself to blame. It was probably a beginner quest for those starting out, and Sey just so happened to be one of the people who grew up too fast in the game. Oh well, it was time to get out of there, and it did not take too much to remember how he came, in a straight line. So turning back around, he would dash out of there with a smile, despite the disappointment he might have been feeling.

Escaping from the maze was easy enough, and he would make his way out from the forest by running. Not too hastily at first, it was more of a jog in fact. But then as the monsters were looming, he would feel himself move faster, since he would prefer not to waste too much time with the monsters anymore. The spear was not even equipped, he needed to go at the fastest speed he could. Who knew how much energy it would take to keep it up from the ground? With this, he would near the edge of the forest, NEARLY engaging in combat by accident when the first instinct for having a monster in front of him would be to swing. But the air weapon in his hands naturally did no damage, and only then did he come to the realization that he was supposed to be getting out of there.

Sey just decided to go around it instead, refusing to engage it in combat like he nearly did. While it did try to chase him, it did not have too much success. And since the system did not seem him get in combat with it, he should be fine. Nearly the end of the forest, he would begin to see light again, though that would force him to squint his eyes in the process due to how much light was being shown to him all of a sudden. Placing his left arm over his eyes, he would make it out into the open world again, the quest ending at that moment as the HUD screen would show up, showing his rewards and what had been added into his inventory, as well as a bit more currency to add onto his bank, and it will only be a matter of time before he bought a house.

He would close the HUD screen and make his way back towards the safe zone swiftly before the night fell. The shop was about to close as the sun was beginning to set, and like he was going to get out of there. Certainly not while he could still help it. So he would chase the sun as it went down, since it was in the same direction as the town before he would jump into the safe zone… Unfortunately literally, before he dashed out from the third floor. He was no longer going to sleep in inns anymore, not while he had free and more private shelter anyways. The other players, hopefully they themselves are able to do the same. It was the end of the quest, and it was definitely successful, but somewhat disappointing. Oh well, at least he ended up getting a bit of treasure at the end of it, and that was most certainly a success in his eyes.
