About: History/personality

Shogo grew up in a luxurious household. His father being the owner of a multibillion yen company, and his mother being a trophy wife, he had life good. He never went to public school, and instead was tutored by the best private teachers money could afford. Day to day life quickly grew boring, as schooling and pampered lifestyle grew old and tiresome. Nothing was challenging, studies were easier with practice, Mom and Dad were always too busy to raise their child. Which left Shogo raising himself. Using his vast allowance, Shogo was able to afford all sorts of luxury consoles, even at times using his parents power to get some before they were released to the public. Soon, rumour of a new ‘Full Dive’ virtual reality headset was released. Shogo already had several VR headsets from Sony, Sprint, and Microsoft alike. But those all required him to move his body and served merely as a TV screen. But something that took his motor functions, and his senses and put them into a video game, was monumental. Finally he could ‘live’ in something other than his dreary and drab life stlye. Years passed before the VR headset was released, but Shogo was ready for it. Buying one of the first guaranteed him a free copy of Sword Art: Online, the only release for the console and a MMO to boot.

Virtues:

Goes With The Flow: Becoming 'like water' is something that Noct has never thought about until he was trapped in SAO. But he didn't let the sudden threat of death, or inability to logout of SAO deter him. Instead he reacted like any sane person would, and that was to accept that he was trapped in the game, and if he wanted out he would have to fight through creature after creature, boss after boss, and floor after floor in order to reach the 100th floor, defeat it's final boss, and escape SAO. Was it an easy task? No, of course not. And he knows this. But he's sure that whatever actions he takes, it will lead him to his goal, and in turn to his freedom.

Light Hearted: Rarely ever dealing with anything remotely challenging or anyone that had disagreed with him to the point of an argument Noct doesn’t take life all that seriously. Growing up rich had it's perks, as everything was painted with a happy picture. He's never seens a homeless person begging for scraps, or a child ripped from their home. His lavish lifestyle means that, he can laugh it up as he enjoys his several thousand yen items in the privacy of his own room the size of most apartments. Never having bad to see, makes it so he’s able to see the good in everything.

Perseverant: Some people find that practice makes perfect, but perfection takes time. And in SAO not everyone has the time to spend hours on hours sloshing through drop down menu through drop down menu. Noct has natural talent, making it easy for him to learn and understand new things with relative ease. As long as he sets his mind to something he’s able to accomplish it. If Time is Money, and he has all the money in the world, then by normal means, he’s able to afford all the time in the world.

Flaws:

Clingy: Noct says that he can do things by himself, which is true in some regards. But he requires constant attention, someone to tell him how well he’s doing. Or how well he’s improved. Someone or someones to give him the attention he needs, nay, deserves. Noct's vice is that he needs constant admiration, not in a way that a disgruntled movie star would, shave her head or get caught doing drugs just to make it into main light media again. But something to help him with his self esteem.

Unconfident: Speaking of his self-esteem, Noct's is almost incredibly low. Despite growing up in a rich and lavish lifestyle, Noct's personality took a hit when he had no one to compare to as a child. The only person that he could possibly relate to was his father, who of course own a multi-billion yen company and how could any six year old accomplish that. Not sees his father as the paradigm that a man could be, and should be. However, due to lack of self-esteem he's unable to see himself as a true 'man' of sort, and it affects him with random 'I'm not strong enough' or 'I'm not quite ready yet' which affects him.

Lonely: Never having any friends in real life, SAO is like a gold mine. All of a sudden, ten thousand people around his age had something in common. Trapped in a virtual world where death meant certainty and teamwork was almost required. Thus Noct could make friends. And not those, whom he met online behind a screen, but those he could see for real. He'd finally be able to go out, and do the things normal people did. Eat fast food, see a movie, all of those simple things that he wasn't allowed to do before. But, when the game is cleared he'd go back to being alone, and lonesome. Which, is something he doesn't want ever again.
