[PP-F4] Old Dogs Can Learn New Tricks <<Absolute Zero>> (Beatbox)

Hikoru waited for his ally @Beatbox to appear at his side. They had decided to go on this quest as well, as they had took on the other new quest just a few days before. He gave a small yawn and sat on the ground, his <<Survival>> Ability activated and keeping his body warm through the bitter cold. He was used to the feeling of the ability by now, making his skin crawl as it combat the cold with it's heat, and he just ignored it at this point. He knew that he would get a lot colder today than he had been before. Some info had gotten out about the Quest and it said that it was in one of the coldest areas on this floor, and he was kinda worried. He didn't know how it would affect him, but he would have to wait and see.

"Where is that kid..." He said with a small shake of the head. He was more than likely on his way, but he wasn't sure. He could have bailed on him, which he wouldn't be against him if he did. He was a busy man with his new Guild, and he knew that he would need to work to get up in the ranks like he wanted, which he wasn't against. He needed to do it with his own Guild, but he was busy with his own motives at the moment to even think about it.

This boss proves to be a little bit of a challenge... but nothing like a little bit of paralysis to get the job done. Beatbox smiled, he was going to follow behind Hikoru behind this quest once more, sure he wasnt going to get as much EXP and SP from this all, but he was totally fine with getting a tiny bit at a time, taking baby steps towards level 50... he wanted to get their as soon as he can, hopefully even before the next boss fight ends and T3 is to be released, Beatbox smirked and eventually had found Hikoru waiting for him, Beatbox walked up and placed a hand over his heart and bowed before him. "Master of Shadows, its nice to see you are in good condition." he straightened himself and gave him a smile, "I've fought this boss before hand, it can prove itself to be a big threat, if it wasn't for paralysis. Paralysis makes this fight too easy if you ask me, but, who knows, we might even just get rekt by the boss." he said chuckling.

Hikoru perked his head up as he heard his title spoke, and saw that Beatbox had finally arrived. He gave a small nod in return, and stood slowly, chuckling to himself. "About time you got here, I was starting to fall asleep." He teased playfully. He listened to the boy, and gave a nod of understanding. Using Paralysis was apart of his build, he gave a small sign and nodded, understanding how it would be useful and probably essential to this boss fight. He just hoped that he could land a few good hits and finish this off quickly.

"Got it. Hopefully we have a better chance of using it, as we both use Paralysis if I remember." He said with a small yawn and a sigh. Honestly, he didn't remember what Beatbox used for weapons or armor, because he knew he had changed from what he used to do. He just gave a nod and made sure he had everything set, and gave a small chuckle "Better not run low on health again. I don't have potions this time if you get low on health." He said with a small laugh

Beatbox chuckled, he remembered the last time he had fought this boss he hadn't taken a single point of HP because the boss was shocked into place, just like a frozen statue. He looked up to Hikoru and said "We don't need to worry about that, the last time I fought this boss, I had paralyzed him to death, meaning... I never took a point of damage." he stood confidently about himself, however he wasn't going to stay too confident about himself as he knew that was going to be a way of a sure way to eventually perish if he were to let that happen. He had gotten everything together and made sure everything he needed was in place, he went into his inventory and chugged down another damage potion giving him another damage buff for the battle, this was going to be another rematch of the absolute zero between Beatbox and the Avalanche. Beatbox had a smile on his face and nodded his head "You lead and I follow, Hikoru." he said without a second thought.

Hikoru nodded. Paralysis would be essential for this Quest, and the both of them knew how to use it he hoped. He held his dagger, Yakimba, and gave a small sigh. This thing had carried him for what seemed like years. He re-sheathed it and gave a nod, leading the way to the area. He opened his map and set a marker for the area location, making his way there. It had taken a bit, but they were about halfway there. He felt a much bigger chill, and he actually shuddered. It took his <<Survival>> Skill a moment to adjust to the temperature to the area, but it was enough for him to feel a small shudder

"Wow... It's freaking cold..." he said as he rubbed his arms together. He felt a lot slower as well, but he didn't know why. He shrugged it off, as it was probably just him being weird. He continued to walk through the rising snow, as it got deeper and deeper around their ankles.

Beatbox had looked over, and gave him a smile, "It's supposed to be cold Hikoru, this floor has you know... snow for a reason." he chuckled as they had continued to walk ever toward the location in which the boss was said to be placed at for it to respawn and wait for its next challengers, with sometime though they had eventually made it towards the frozen lake in which the boss would be at... right now it wasn't here, Beatbox looked around towards below the ice looking for any sort of difference, then the lake around him shook, ice from the lake shattering and sinking to the bottom, ice that formed on the sides of the mountains breaking and moving over the center as a black circle had grew... and grew... and grew... until eventually, the boss had fully formed, a pair of red eyes opened in the water and the boss and sprang outwards from the water and roared into the sky as it slammed its two hands onto the mountain between Beatbox and Hikoru, Beatbox had smirked, it was time to have on more rematch with the Avalanche. He unsheathed his sword and looked back to Hikoru, he wondered if he could keep up the pressure.

Hikoru shivered again as the cold dissapeared finally, but he could still feel the tingling on his skin from it. Suddenly. the ground shook underneath him, and there arose the giant monster that he had come to slay. The creature looked much, much different from when he had first fought it, and he knew that the rumours were true. He immediantly sprang into action, charging ahead through the snow and attacking the creature head on. He watched it's health go down a sliver, and he just grit his teeth. It was nowhere near as much damage as he would have liked, but he couldn't complain about it. He would just have to work a lot harder and try to aim for weak points if he wanted to get this done quickly

"Beat! Switch in!" He said, holding his dagger in preparation to attack again

Beatbox had watched Hikoru strike against the boss, dealing a chunk of damage, not a very big amount of damage, but it was damage yelling out to him to switch in. Beatbox nodded his head and tried to swing his sword against the boss with in mind to paralyze it, however he had hit the ice in the wrong way forcing the blade to hit it and move back dealing nothing to it and not being able to continue the combo. "Shoot." he has said with a grin, the boss had looked down to Hikoru and raised its arm above Hikoru and went down to slam against him, however having terrible aim and horribly missing him when it had slammed down, the snow around the hand had blown in many directions leaving nothing behind when the golem had raised its arm back over letting players see the frozen terrain that was below it.

Hikoru barely moved out of the way of the blow before he went and struck again, dealing another smidgin of damage. Soon though, the boss had two icons appear next to his name, a Bleed and a Paralysis Symbol. He smiled as he must have found a weak point, but he didn't know exactly where. He just sighed and re-adjusted his glasses, wiping off the few pixels of snow that had landed on them, and cleared his view of the beast. He knew that it had already lost a bit of health. Pretty soon they would be done this fight and on to do something else. He gave a shake of the head and a nod to Beat

"Alright, got the paralysis. Hit 'em Hard!" He said, raising a fist to try and motivate him a bit, maybe giving him something. Honestly, he wasn't sure why he was doing that, but it felt right for him to do, so he did it anyways.

Beatbox had smiled as he had looked forward to the boss that had slumped over as it was paralyzed, however as he dashed forward to hit the boss, he knew that the same result was to happen... it was something that he just knew as he dashed forward. Beatbox chuckled, and thought to himself in his head "What the hell is wrong with me?" then swung his sword and the same result had happened, he had hit the boss and the sword simply bounced backwards rejecting the combo to go off. Beatbox had shook his head and placed his hand at the center of his forehead with two fingers as he gained yet another headache as his sword drifted away from his body pointing away from the boss. He had looked up to find the boss moving its entire body to move itself back up to fight once more.

Hikoru didn't understand why Beat had missed twice now, but now wasn't the time. He needed to attack before the Paralysis wore off. He moved quickly and attacked head on, striking the monster a few more times in rapid succession. He smiled as his health dropped down a bit more, happy with how this was going. Beat attacking or not, they were going to defeat this thing easily. He re-adjusted his glasses once more and moved back a bit, doing his best to gain some distance from the boss but still staying in range so it didn't de-spawn or target Beatbox. He breathed in the cold air quickly, keeping his heart racing to not lose focus at a time like this. If the creature hit him, it would hurt, a lot. But for now, he would have to wait and see if he could dodge it quickly enough.

Beatbox had felt useless as time progressed, he had been failing to attack the avalanche as time had progressed and had passed, Beatbox growled and tried to attack again... yet to no prevail he had failed once more. Beatbox blinked a bunch of times, unaccountably, and then grew more angered as he had failed to continued to attack, he had felt like he had been wasting his time and damage potion. The avalanche's red eyes sparked as it raised its arm upwards to the sky and slammed it down to Hikoru dealing damage to him and sending him backwards a bit. Beatbox had looked back to Hikoru and back to the boss, he shook his head violently yelling out to himself "Wake the hell up Beatbox, now's not the time to be failing, this is a boss fight, wake the f--- up." he looked up at the boss with a spark of determination as his sword glowed an eerie blue once more.

Hikoru grit his teeth as he withstood the enslaught of the attack from the monster, making his health drop a bit more than a tenth of his health. He knew that he had to finish this thing and fast. He charged forward and struck again, hitting the mob and taking another sliver of health. This thing was taking a bit of time to kill, and he knew that if he took more hits like that, he wouldn't be able to live for that long. He breathed and focused himself, preparing for the worst to come. He looked at Beatbox, giving him a nod

"You got this man. Just focus." He said with a small smile. He had his bad days too, and sometimes the system just hates a person enough to make them mess up a lot. It was something that happened to him once as well.

Beatbox had looked over to see that the he had been successfully hitting the boss, however Beatbox was getting eagerly tired of not doing anything to this boss at all. Beatbox had growled and twisted his feet to the side as he charged his sword with a explosive aura sparking from the tip of his sword, which then exploded as he dashed forward hitting the boss hacking and slashing the boss with Nova Ascension, at the end of the combo eventually paralyzing the boss with ease. The boss had roared out and slumped forward as it was not paralyzed making it very susceptible to damage, Beatbox had taken two steps backward and pointed his sword toward the snow as his sword charged his next sword art that he would use against it... Meteor Break. Beatbox had looked upwards on the boss looking at its elemental face knowing that its doom was coming ever so closely than it ever imagined it being, Beatbox knew that they were going to win eventually.

Hikoru did a small cheer as Beatbox finally landed a strike on the creature and landing a stun onto the creature. He nodded and quickly moved forward, striking the creature and finally bringing it to the orange. He gave a smile and backed away, knowing that Beatbox had the hate now, not him. He didn't generate Hate, and now Beat was at the risk of taking one of those attacks he took head on. He breathed quietly and awaited to see what would happen.

"Nice job Beat, a few more hits and were done!" He said enthusiastically. He was ready to get this done and make his way home, as he was pretty tired and wanted to sleep. He had used a lot of his energy this fight, and he was growing tired as fast as his energy was draining.

Beatbox had the spark of determination now, the voice of Hikoru was muffled of the concentrated wind that blew the snow between them. Beatbox held the handle of his sword with the mindset of vengeance... he thought about the players that selfishly ended the lived of others in this world, he couldn't bare to sit there and just let time pass by and players have died to others knowing that he hadn't tried to stop this all. Beatbox looked up to the evolved Avalanche, he couldn't stare into its face for long, he only gained more angered as he continued to look at it. Beatbox had dashed forward and swung the boss with strike after strike and blow after blow from his ultimate move Meteor Break. As the combo had ended the Avalanche had stumbled backwards a couple of steps but continued to fight... as selfish as ever it seemed.

Hikoru breathed and leapt for the final attacking, spinning and slicing rapidly at the giant creature until it's health dropped to Zero. With a mighty roar, the creature fell and soon disappeared back beneath the waters. Hikoru received a Notification, indicating that the Quest was completed, and he had received an Item. He opened the tab to find an icicle. It had decent stats, but it was only able to be used for one battle. He tucked it away into his inventory for now, saving it for a future boss fight, or donate it to the guild if he wanted. He gave Beatbox a smile and a nod

"Nice job with that clutch man. Glad you were here, or else this would have taken way longer" He said with a small laugh. He came close and sheathed his dagger, happy with how today had turned out

Beatbox had watched as Hikoru had finished the Ice Golem off, he had taken a deep breath as it had gotten just a tad bit warmer, but still cold beyond all hell. He had listened to Hikoru, and then looked back forward to the lake that had flowed and iced over as time had progressed. He had taken a deep breath and said out to him "Well, you did most of the work today, I only did a fair amount as you took this with ease. Heck, with that sort of power you could have solo'd this boss by your loan some." he sheathed his sword and walked away from the lake that had frozen over in front of them once more. "Better move on, I don't assume you want to fight the respawning boss again with that sort of energy do you?" he winked and patted his shoulder, he walked forward away from the lake and stayed on the path back to town with Hikoru, "I don't know where ya headin' but I am heading back to town so I can get back home, I need to get some shut eye." he said with a chuckle.

Hikoru nodded and gave a small sigh. It was true that he had done most of the work, but he knew that if he hadn't gotten as lucky, he definitely would have died to this thing, given how much damage he had taken from just one shot. He shuddered at the thought, and just continued forward, making his way back towards the town as Beat said he was heading home, and he just gave a nod

"Yeah, one day I'll do the same. But for now i'm going back to the third floor and going to be sleeping at my shop like I usually do. I'm pretty tired myself." He said with a small laugh. It had been a long day, and he was about ready to get some much needed rest from today, and a relaxing sleep in his bed that he had set up there underneath his woolen blankets to get warm again.

Beatbox smiled, he had respect for Hikoru, not just because he was a sort of mentor to him, but it was simply because... well, he was much much stronger than Beatbox, and that was something to respect at least. He had taken a deep breath and said to him "then I guess I'll be catching you around then, see you on the flip side." he had exclaimed to him as he placed his hands into his pockets and walked into the depths of the town, where his figure would be eventually lost in the crowd of people that absolutely loved this floor. From this point on, he had kept his mind to himself, he didn't say a word... he just rather... pondered on his thoughts and life here in Aincrad, it was a bumpy ride for sure, but it was annoying as all hell recently... he can't imagine the hell that the frontliners had gone through in the past few boss battles, it must have been hell to back and to hell again at the rate of growth this game is going between us players.
