[SP-F8] What's a King to a Rogue <<Monkey King>>

Recommended Posts

Up on the 8th floor, he would see a new quest available for him to take. That was a bit stretched though, since he had already seen it before. But it was new for him because now he had the strength to actually take it on his own now. Before when he was a new player, he thought that it would have been impossible to solo these sorts of missions. But now here he was, thinking that it would be pretty easy. Admittedly, he might have to consume one of his alcoholic items so that he would not take too long with it, but that was definitely worth it for him. Plus, the amount of skill points that it offered was such a bliss thing for him, and he would gladly take it on again if he were able to get more skill points with it. Sadly, the missions all were one time with the skill points before it just because items, and those items never really helped with the leveling up anyways. Still though, he was glad to be able to take this one.

According to the quest description, he needed to go below the village, and that was where the king monkey would be located. Seemed fair enough. It was impressive how they were able to make structures and hold them up with branches. Considering how the human body on it’s own weighs usually at least one hundred pounds, the fact that a whole village was able to live in the branches shows how strong said branches were. Still though, the monkey king being able to instill fear in a group who could do such a thing was probably nothing to sneeze about. Still though, the stats made it seem pretty easy for him to take on, so nothing really added up. Unless he was actually that strong, something that he personally had doubts on… Then that would be impossible to connect together. Still though, was it so much of a bliss fantasy?

So he would make his way over there, holding one of the Ice Dream cones that he had, taking careful licks around the dessert as he would label where the alcoholic parts were in a different color. Right now, he would rather not get drunk. Sey was definitely tame as a drunk though in comparison to the normal one, which seemed to have their eyes set on being really annoying and having no common sense in the world. While Sey also would be out of reality, at least he was tame and would actually fall asleep sometimes as well. In fact, it took him a little bit to attack simply because he was sleeping in one of the boss monsters events, which in itself would be deemed rather brave. Well, at least he was alive from that, so this was not going to be a problem for him at all.

Continuing to walk to the village, he would enter a forest first, where many of the trees seemed normal with green leaves. His eyes would look upwards, interested in seeing whatever village might be around for the moment. It was a nice place for sure, he might try to find an inn here and sleep in it if this was all the peace that he could get. Then again though, being in his own shop was a lot more convenient. Plus, he did get a lot more music sheets and a lot more items for free when working with Kooh. She had not been too active lately, but why bother her though? She had Survivalist out right now, so with that, she was definitely going to be fine… Hopefully. It was a nice wish for him to have at least, but there was still some form of worry wrapped around her.

As he would get deeper in the forest, he would notice that the scenery around him was slowly beginning to fade in light. It was definitely interesting to him admittedly, seeing how it was not going to be a fun fight if he were to get stunned like the game said that he could be. The attempt though was what mattered, so he would continue trying anyways. The darkness was beginning to consume his body, his eyesight getting blurry, but he pressed forward without even so much as a glimpse of hesitation showing in his movement. If he wanted to advance like he said he did, he was full well going to prove it. With this, the darkness would then become so heavy that he was unable to see anything anymore, resulting him not even being able to move, nor feel anything… What was even going on? Was this the monkey king?

Seems like he was going to get that answer, as a sudden red sign would fade in and out with bright red letters, definitely striking intimidation in his body. The red letters read “Warning” to him, but that was it… It was the sign that showed when an extremely boss monster was within range and he was in battle with it. The darkness would continue to show as the red sign would flash. Sey would prepare his equipment for battle, full well ready for a surprise attack if it came by. After a while, the darkness would then disappear as the light of the forest reappeared once again, followed with the monkey king right in front of him glaring at him. Pressing his feet against the ground, he would snarl back right at it, prepared for the incoming fight to happen. His first real boss on his own, he couldn’t wait as he then finished his ice cream.

At this point, he would then just tilt his head to the side and feel the nice little bliss feeling of sleep was taking over his body all over again, and he would smile upon the thought of going to sleep at the moment thanks to the alcohol calming his body down. The monkey king would give his body a nice hard smack of the palm, launching his body against a tree and causing severe damage to his health bar. Thanks to the pain being non-existent in the game, he would end up being able to wake up without even flinching. “That was nawt… Very… NICE!” Sey would announce as he would lash out towards the monkey king quickly with the spear thrown against the ground, letting it bounce before he gripped it in the air, then slashed towards the side multiple times in a consecutive chain, resulting in an equal amount of severe damage being inflicted against the boss.

The Monkey king did not take too well to the retaliation that it just received from the snow-haired player, resulting in it roaring with an immense vibration emitting before it would then attack the snow-haired player, who lacked the ability to actually evade the attack and would end up being smacked against the ground with a mighty amount of force, bringing his health down once again to the edge of the yellow point, but not quite there yet. Sey would just laugh a little bit out of the drunkenness that his body had right now. With that, he would then stand back up and smile before then seemingly blurring out of sight, moving forward with the spear without any fear of resistance from the monster as he would then slash it constantly through the chest with stabs, resulting in the death of the monster, shattering it to pieces at the end of the battle.

That was the end of the fight, and because of how alcohol only lasted for one battle, he would then be brought out of the drunken state that he had been apart of for a little bit. Looking to the crystals, he would then recall a few of the moves he used onto the monster, resulting in it’s death. With that known, he beat the monkey king on his own. How lovely. Considering how it was a monster designed for the higher levels, he was proud of himself for being able to beat something that was that extreme in level. The higher leveled quests did not seem so bad, which was good because of how many things he could get from them if he tried. Naturally, he was not going to be so hasty and try them since he did have a will to live, they were harder than this.

So that was where the money king was, in that case, if he were to look upwards, that would mean he would find the village, right? In thinking that was the case, the snow haired player would tilt his head upwards to see that there were a lot of branches that held up something up there. It was a tall climb up though, so much that if a monkey king was not able to do it, a player like Sey was definitely not going to have a chance at it. The hopes of trying to find an inn there did not seem to have much weight behind them, and would end up being nothing but false ones. So what could he do now? Personally, he found it to be a better idea to just get away from the scene now. It was a good idea, so he would then proceed to return back to the safe zone.

There was a lot of time on his hands though, it might have been a good idea for him to search for some materials before he went home. But then again, he did not want to change back into his gear. The drunk hangover was not a fun thing to search for things while that part of it was active. Sey did not seem to have a strong enough mind to resist against the aftereffect of the hangover. Every single noise seemed to be a nightmare for him to listen to. Even his own thoughts seemed to be a little bit of an annoyance. Being drunk was not as fun as everyone claimed for it to be. If this game was like the real world with alcohol, then he did not see any appeal of getting drunk. At least Sey did not damage his real body out in the real world though with said alcohol.

So what was he going to do though? It was a pretty easily beaten quest… But, maybe he should change into the gear needed to hunt for things. If he wanted to find a map, it would have been a good idea to give it to the guild or something. So with this in mind, he might as well do it. With this, he would change his gear from his inventory and proceed to move it towards the hecta collection, full of things he wanted to use for finding the loot. With this done, he would then have Hecta’s Bliss Coat equipped, followed by the Hecta’s ring was well. With that done, he would then begin to look around for things, whether those be materials or even a map. There was no picking skill, so he was unable to use that quite yet unfortunately for finding any treasure chests. How unfortunate.

-Unequipped all items first.

Equipped:

-Hecta's Bliss Coat +3 LD

- Hecta's Bliss Pocket Watch  Skill rank item:  Search and Detect

Looking around to see what he was able to find, but nothing at all was found as he would try to find materials, but with no results. So what was he able to do? Eh, it did not even seem like the right area for him to find some items anyways. It was like looking for a plant in the desert, though he was in the forest now, so maybe there would be a few vines that some grapes can be plucked off of. But to do that, he would end up losing a chance to find something now. Maybe it was best for him to locate for the dungeon maps instead. With this out of the way, he would then place his palms in his pockets, though would then cringe from the headache that he had. With that sort of thing happening, he would groan in a little bit of pain.

The snow haired player would then end up looking towards the side as he would then see a few shining mats on the ground. In seeing them, he would approach them with a smile on his face as he would then get towards there and have a few berries on a little plant ready for the picking. As a result, he would then get them before putting them in the inventory that he had. The materials were good for the shakes that he was going to be able to make later on in the future. Considering how fast he was getting them, he might be able to come home with about a day or two of crafting. Any the days that he was able to save was another day that he had earned. Looks good to him. With this, he would then continue his search in hopes of more materials.

As he continued to look around, he would sigh as his streak that seemed to start would already end up being put to an end. The numbers were not so much on his side today it seemed. Still though, he was going to keep trying. There were items that would help him when he wanted to get some loot, and he would use them then. But he did not really prepare himself to get any materials right now, so it was expected of him to not really get too many things right now. Even Sey should be able to understand that, despite how hard reality was smacking him in the face. With this, he would end up taking that and using it to put to heart, resulting him having a little more peace of mind mentally, though definitely not physically right now. Placing that in his mind, he would continue.

He would then begin to count that amount of materials that he had, and he noticed that at this rate, it was not a good idea to continue trying to find the materials. With this, he would then look out towards the area where the safe zone would be located. Perfect, now he just had to go over there and call it the end, he needed to claim the quest had been done after all. It was important to make sure that had been done. So it was all over it seemed. The dungeon though was out there, and was he going to waste one of his perfect consumable on it? Eh, not really worth it in his opinion. As a scout, he was able to do it with his own equipment and skills, at least, that was what he was supposed to do. So he will test it soon.

AS he would do so, he would look back to the forest to see that nothing was going on quite yet, but he did hear that it was a respawning boss. Maybe he would like to go back to get another item form it. According to the original, he was able to evade a little bit more. Evasion was not really in his build though, and it was not so much of a smart idea to try to make it while he had the heavy armor skill active. He would be able to move with a little speed, but not so much. According to his calculations, he was able to try to make it happened when an update came out and he could reorganize his skills. But for now, it was probably going to be nothing but a waste of space for him, and that was not what he needed. He needed everything he could get.

He would feel  a sudden presence though, and it seemed more inviting to him than he expected. The first thought of it might have been Hidden, and that she might have been sneaking around and playing with him. But when he searched with the loot enhancing items, he would not sense her around. Still though, something was definitely there though. Not that it was, and how it seemed to promise him reward, he was on the hunt for it, though he would not stray too far from the safe zone. Placing his palms in his pockets, his eyes would shift from side to side and see if his searching would be fruitful. There was a hope in him that pushed him to move forward and find whatever it was. Anything at all to make this somewhat more interesting. More emptiness, but more ambition, a stubborn player Sey was. It brought him far though.

It seems like there was nearly nothing to be found, but he was looking every square inch, refusing to accept it as the truth. Something was around and he was going to keep telling himself that until it became the truth. It was technically a weird form of denial, but Sey at the end of the day loved to have rewards in his pockets, so for him to find nothing was not the reality that he was going to accept until he was definitely sure that it was the case, even when all evidence pointed towards that. Considering how much he wanted to find something he might have found it. Whatever it was, it hinted itself before seemingly disappearing. It was like a 6th sense, which he might have had in the game. The scouting part of him told him it was near, and like a dog looking for a bone, he went on the hunt.

Sey would then find it, a little piece of paper on the ground. It was rolled up though and moved in the wind, allowing him to catch it as it moved towards him. Opening up the little paper, he would then notice that it was a map… An Advanced Dungeon label was placed at the top of it. It was out of nowhere, but he found the map needed to get to it. So it WAS something that was worth the hype that he had stored in him for a while. With that, he would stash it into his inventory with a satisfied stupid grin on his face as he would then return back to the safe zone with every intent on planning how to use the map. Man it was going to be a lot of fun to use it and gain even more skill points, which he needed.
