[PP-F2] Dragon Stones <<Dragon Hunter Anthology 2>> (Hikki)

Recommended Posts

Standing in the middle of Urbus around the quest board, Vale perused around the multiple amount of quests that were available to her. She noticed one quest in particular that was on this floor she hadn't got herself into already, "Dragon Hunter Anthology... The Quartz Whelpling. If I recall, that man was doing this quest chain. Maybe he would like to continue it... Even though he is rude." She bit her lip slightly, as she did want to know more about why the man was simply so hostile towards her. But she needed to be ready to take the emotional assault the man would attempt to do to her. She normally wouldn't let comments and antagonizing actions go, but this world ran on a completely different system. She couldn't just punish those that were being deplorable human begins, she would eventually teach him a lesson with a straight to the face if he continued his negative behavior though only time could tell.

Vale pulled up her friends list, the only person whose name she had actually managed to get on there. She selected @Hikoru's name and started typing up a message Vale even spoke outloud as she wrote the message, "Hey Hikoru... I know I must not be your most favorited person in this world. But I remember that you were doing the Dragon Anthology questline before. And someone posted up information where the next Dragon is located. I don't know if you've already done the quest or not... Just thought you might have been too busy to do it, and would like to get it finished." Vale wasn't the best at typing up messages, she wasn't an avid texter in real life. She mostly just talked on the phone or in person. She kept looking over the message, deleting it and then retyping what she had just typed since she had no idea what to actually say, or if the man would even want to be in her presence again.

Hikoru was walking along the edge of the forest on the highest floor avaliable. He had been grinding out on some monsters previously, and was waiting for his energy bar to regenerate, when he received a message. He climbed up a tree, thinking that the message had been a monster nearby, but noticed the small notification bubble down to the far right of his eyesight. He opened it and skimmed the message, and he gave a sigh as he realized who it was from. He knew that, even though he didn't like the person who asked him, that she was right that he hadn't yet done the quest. He closed it without replying and made his way back into town, teleporting to the second floor. He looked around and saw her at the player board. Pulling up his cloak, he came from behind her until he was close, deactivating his stealth and looked at her from behind

"You rang?" He asked, hiding his stone face beneath both his glasses and his cloak, knowing that his facial expressions would be hidden from the busty woman, and he awaited for her to notice him.

Vale stood infront of the Quest Board for a good amount of time, she wasn't exactly checking to see if he responded. Vale low key had a feeling the man would never respond... or show up for that matter. She stared blankly at the board in her new battle garments, her kitty claws were interlocked together just behind her rump and her leotard no longer covered her legs, but she had a lot of fur upon the armor and claws, making her resemble somewhat of a darkish purple panther girl. There was a familiar voice, all too familiar, that spoke out just behind her. Barely turning her head, Vale stared at Hikki with her one on looking eye. He kept his hood up somewhat hiding his face, it's like the boy was hiding and the only assumption Vale could think was it was from her.

Vale turned around completely, "I did." She responded. She opened her mouth to say more, but after a moment closed it as she was trying to be nice to the man by doing what he asked the previous time, "I won't talk and bother him." She thought to herself as her eyes started to lower to the ground. She then brought up her system menu and shot Hikoru an invite for the quest, "I-if you don't mind going with me on this." Her voice has a twinge of solumn weakness to it. It was probably as easy to notice that she was being very passive around the hooded man.

Hikoru watched as she turned her head, and said she did call for him. She turned and went to say something but stopped. He frowned a bit from that, and gave a small sigh as she asked if he didn't mind. She had taken out the fun in herself to make him happy. That was something he respected, but he didn't enjoy it. He turned and looked at the quest board, accepting the quest and opening his HUD and finding the path to the Quest itself. It was going to be a long trek, but he didn't have anything else planned that day so he had the time. He started to walk towards it, then stopped and looked back at the woman

"You know, you we're easier to tolerate when you weren't faking things." He said, then continued to walk. If she chose to react by lashing out at him, he wouldn't care. He said what he meant, and he wouldn't change what he said to make her feel better. He would be blunt with her, that's how he would tolerate her. It would probably make her angry, but that was amusing to watch for him, because he knows that she can't really do that much damage to him, and even if she could he know he could just run away if he was in danger and make his way away from her to another floor where she couldn't find him.

Vale saw him accept the quest, and in turn it prompted her to choose whether or not she wanted to accept the quest. Which she pressed accept without hesitation, quickly Hikoru had began making his way toward the edge of town. It was infact a very long path they would have to walk, but atleast they really wouldn't be roaming the woods blindly, they had the generalized area of the boss after all. Vale kept her eyes on Hikoru, since the man was able to dart in and out of sight in a moments notice. She immediately stopped walking the second he did and turned to insult her, "What does that even mean? Could you elaborate?" She asked as he continued forward.

The man was a frustrating one to deal with, but ironically she was rather tolerant of his actions. She didn't care that he was being a douche cause she still had a feeling that the man was simply not so in actuality. It frustrated her so much to want to know why he was so rude to her, yet being passive was causing him to be just as rude. This man seemed to have no actual nice aspect about him aside from his looks. She wasn't faking anything, she was just trying to do what would make the man happy by not having to listen to her. The only thing she wanted to do from the get go was try and actually befriend the man aside from trying to leave this air of distain and dissatisfaction with each other.

Hikoru heard the girl ask quite frustrated what he meant, but he knew that he made sense with what he said. He continued to walk down towards the trail, and knew that he was headed in the right direction because the directory arrow in the top left corner of his eyesight was following the path they were taking perfectly. He looked ahead, and saw a boar, something that he was hoping that he wouldn't have to see. He stopped and held a hand up the two of them and then looked back.

"Stay. Here. Unless you want to die." He said, and moved quietly into the shadows, gaining some distance quickly and coming to the side of the boar. He needed to finish this thing quickly and efficiently. And he knew that if the woman joined the battle that it would be the death of her, as he knew that this boar while simple, would go to his stats and be based off of him, and he knew that she was way too under-leveled to be able to handle fighting it. He breathed and silently moved forward, inching his way closer.

Vale looked Hikoru who obviously ignored whaat she said, she was beginning to regret the idea of even wanting to be in the man's presence again. What good was eye candy when it was rotted to the core? If Vale even found men to be romantically appealing, this man would have hit literally every negative in her book. Such a shame that he was short. It really went poorly with his hostile outlook on others and life itself. She was about to huff and say something when a boar spawned in the distance. She initially thought it would be no problem until she saw that the Boar was much larger and hulkish than the ones of the first floor. Immediately Hikoru informed her to sit still unless she had the idea of dying.

Instead of instigating an argument or initiating the fight. She chose to scale the tallest tree near her. Within mere seconds she had completely climbed the tree with her sharpened claws. Once she was at a high enough point she looked down at the boar in anticipation, this time she wasn't going to miss the attack patterns that the man used on the first dragon for the Dragon Hunter Anthology quests. She stood on the branch much like a cat would. She lept from tree branch to tree branch to get a closer look at the action that was soon to occur. Vale found herself practically over the creature itself. She wasn't going to miss it, unless Hikoru came out from a different direction and tried to pierce her armor and skin to her directly.

Hikoru charged forward from the trees, striking the boar with his strongest sword art and taking out a chunk of health from it. He did his best to move away, but the boar seemed to react perfectly, as if it was expecting him. It gouged him with one of his horns, grunting as he was hit and fell back into a tree. He held the open wound in his side as he gripped his dagger. This boar was smart, he could tell that much. He breathed and stood slowly. Although he didn't feel the pain of the attack, he had a good guess at how it would feel, and he felt a bit of what felt like phantom pain. He looked around for Vale, but didn't see her anywhere

"Damn girl... Probably went to hide, or try and surprise attack herself..." He muttered as he focused his attention back to the boar, making sure that he was able to handle this thing on his own. A few more swipes and this thing would be dead, he just hoped that he would get lucky with the drop.

Vale watch Hikoru take a lazy route to the boar, the man even stepped on a twig while he wasn't paying attention alerting the boar to his presence, "This is what happens when someone gets a full head of steam and loses sight of what's around them" She muttered under her breath, sitting high in the tree's allowed the sway of the leaves to mask her words even more. She watched the boar take a harsh hit, but deliver a strike into the gut of the rogue, launching him toward a tree that was in the opposite direction of the tree Vale was sitting in. She watched as he moved his lips, but Vale wasn't proficient in reading lips so she could only think about what he must of said about the boar.

He had explained to her that she needed to keep her distance. And based on the HP lost by Hikoru it had to have been a much stronger hit than that since the man was much higher level than she. So she decided to follow what he said and keep her distance as best as she could. As much as she wanted to launch down and help him, she had a feeling it would cause him more problems than he was already having with the boar. Her eyes were fixated on Hikoru so much so he could probably feel the eyes glowering in his direciton. It's not like she was trying to hide her presence completely. She did take out one of her healing potions, it probably wouldn't help much but the sentiment she wanted to get across would atleast exist.

Hikoru breathed and let go of his side and prepared to strike, he noticed that he was off angle because of how the boar positioned himself. He didn't like that, and used his <<Concentration>> Skill to help position his strike, and soon attacked the boar head on once again. He attacked and took another large chunk from it's health. The boar squealed and went to attack Hikoru again, but he was expecting it, and used his <<Acrobatics>> Mod and flipped over the beast, landing gracefully behind it as it ran into a nearby tree. He breathed and watched as the boar slowly turned around, kicking his leg and preparing to charge once more.

"Alright big boy... Let's dance." He said with a smile. He looked up at the sky to take a look, and far off he saw Vale, standing tall at the top of a tree. He breathed a sigh of relief. At least if she stayed there, he wouldn't have the blood of a player on his hands, and moved forward as he prepared for the charge.

Vales eyes continued to sit locked on the roguish feller, she calculated every aspect of his poise and posture. There weren't many faults in his stance to face a boar, but he was riddled of openings if her were in a martial arts fight in the real world. Luckily for him, he would never have to worry about those openings as this game's system ran completely different than the real world. She watched as Hikoru made a miscalculated step and would miss completely, but he flashed orange for a split second and she noticed he was able to completely redirect his movement as if he was in a state of pure concentration. She was practically astounded that the game had a mechanic for such an effect.

The man looked up at her, able to isolate her location with absolute ease. She had been paying far too close attention to his muscle movements and actions to not notice him sigh in a relieving manner, "D-Did he sigh in relief... Is he actually happy that I am in a safe position?" She questioned under her breath. She placed one of her kitty paws on her chest just above her heart. She honestly felt moved that someone who had seemed so cold and so heartless. Have a feeling of relief for someone else being safe and okay, "Well aren't you just an adorable one Hikoru... There is more to you than I thought." She continued to whisper to herself while watching him continue his fight.

Hikoru breathed and moved forward as the boar charged, jumping as it came close to him and landed, slashing and slicing on his back as the boar squealed and tried to throw him off. He flipped off after he finished his sword art as the boar rammed into another tree. He breathed and wiped a bit of sweat from his brow. That was the one thing about his armor, it was hot with the cloak, making it hard to keep his temperature down when he started to fight. Even though they were in a video game, he still felt the heat from the floor. He breathed and pulled the hood down to let his head breathe, his long hair draping over his head, blocking a bit of the sunlight from above.

"There... Should be good now." He said as he held his dagger tightly, preparing as the boar's tucks gleamed in the sunlight. He knew the damage that this thing could cause, and he needed to avoid them as he had previous times. He would finish this off the right way, with a Shadowed Path Sword Art, hoping that it worked out well for him. In previous times, he had fumbled and fell onto his rear end trying to use Shadowed Path sword arts, and he hoped that he wouldn't make himself look like a fool today.

Vale shifted her body to be sitting down upon the branch, her wide hips and large rump were barely enough being held up by the outstretched arm of the tree. But the woman's balance was impeccible, she did not shake nor show any signs of distress staying in the exact same place. Her lips pursed up much like a kitten, "It shouldn't be too long now. I bet the boy hasn't worked up this much of a sweat in quite some time." She mused to herself, she looked up at his health bar and it wasn't regenerating any. But not like the man was in any grave danger to begin with. Although the creatures stats were inflated far above what Vale could handle, since the creature had no speed the only way Hikoru could even get harmed was by making paltry mistakes.

Vale yawned as she waited for the creature to see the last of it's days. Taking this time she dropped down a few branches until she was but a few meters of the head of the man. She kept her mouth shut, but kept her eyes affixed to him. She was rather interested if the man could feel the chill running down his spine as she continued to gaze. Vale made note of every single twitch of muscle movement, and she couldn't stop watching him as was her nature when it came to fights. Albeit she wasn't the opponent, but she wanted to make sure she understood ever aspect of his fighting prowess in the stead that the two of them were to ever truly fight.

Hikoru breathed as he concentrated. The boar started to charge towards him, but he didn't notice. He felt the darkness, the shadows enveloping him as soon he dissapeared from sight. The boar stopped, confused to where the player he had been fighting had gone, and looked from side to side, when Hikoru appeared above him, diving down and grabbed the Boar by what he deemed the neck, and repeatedly stabbed it until it pixelated underneath him. He breathed and stood, pulling his hood up and looking around, didn't see any sign of the girl. He sighed and looked in the direction of where she had previously been

"If your around still, it's dead." He said, and took a step forward as he felt something under his feet. He picked it up and raised an eyebrow. It seemed the creature had dropped some armour, and it looked to be of a rare quality, as far as he could tell with his merchant skill. He stood and put it into his inventory, awaiting the girl to return

She watched as he activated the strangest sword art that literally turned him invisible and teleported to a spot above the creature. Having watched dagger users fight, she had never witnessed someone being able to displace themselves such a distance. It was definitely something she wanted to peruse about, but the same issue that had been arising popped right back up in her head. With a plunging strike from the air, he vanquished the large boar, and it seemed to dropped some armor upon the ground as well which he took a moment to even realize after having called out for her. Picking up the armor the man inspected it for a second, he did the systematic action of sending things to one's inventory which felt like such an odd thing to watch someone else do.

Hikoru had lost sight of Vale, which she was oddly surprised by since she closed the gap inbetween them and was but meters over his head and behind him. She chuckled for a few moments giving away her position to the man, "I am well aware that the fight is over. I've been watching each and every single one of your muscle movements." She called out. Vale then leaned forward with a vixen-esque smile on her face, "You find me more tolerable when I am not faking things. Though I never have. But you want full face you got it." She continued as she pointed at the man with her razor sharp claw, "That sword-art was unlike anything else I have seen in this world. And now you have me curious with it. What's that all about?" She finally asked leaning back on the somewhat thin branch.

Hikoru turned and looked up as Vale sat above him. She said something that was a bit... weird, but he shrugged it off. If she was watching him that closely, that was her own thing and he couldn't change it. She came close with a somewhat alluring smile, and he avoided her gaze, as he was sure that he would probably blush, and he knew that he needed to keep his composure. He looked at the brink of her nose, to make it seem like he was looking in her eyes, and he nodded as she explained herself, only a nod, as he had nothing else to say. He was about to turn and start to walk when she asked about his sword-art, and he mentally kicked himself. Hard. He had done it without remembering she knew nothing about his Unique Skill. He kept his face still as stone, and turned away

"It is nothing of your concern. Come, lets find this dragon and finish this quest." He said, and started to walk. He knew that she would very well try and stop him to ask questions. It was her nature, as much as he didn't like it. He prepared for anything that could hit him, but he knew he couldn't draw his weapon on her. It was both a waste of his time to kill her, and a compromise of his identity, being known as a Player Killer he would be cast out, something that didn't appeal to him. All the skills he had were to help people in his own way, and he wouldn't let some girl be the end of that.

The rude and somewhat abbrasive man was trying his best to avoid the question and topic at hand, and since he was adamant to comment on her being more tolerable. She was about to test the ultimate amount of his patience and pride, "Oh-ho-ho... No you don't. I'll tell it to ya straight doctor. There was something unique about that aspect, you're hiding a secret. And I don't like secrets." Her vixen-esque smirk came back to her face, she was ready to dig her metaphorical fangs into him with her words. Her movement never shied a step, keeping pace with him as he walked, "I know you can hear me pointy toes." She said with a twinge a laughter in her voice to add insult to injury.

She kept her eyes on him like a hawk viewing their prey from above, the way he reacted and treated her in their first encounter still left a sour taste in Vale's mouth. And although this time she tried to be kind and respect the man she had met and technically asked for assistance to, he decided to get slightly insult her by calling her out. She was going to give him a frustrating amount of dosage of sass, and the kitten in her was just started to growl and meow loud. Vixen could almost be heard purring from all the jabbing she had started to do on this. She kept a healthy distance from him so he couldn't flip out on physical actions. She wanted him to explode and get angry, or to continue walking and accept his penitence. Vale was feeling in the mood to make Hikki squirm.

Hikoru had completely expected this, he knew her well enough in the few times they had met to know that she wouldn't drop it. He continued to walk along for a moments, letting her talk and try to call him out, but it didn't effect him, not even the insults that she tried to call him. But it didn't work with him. He waited a few moments, then turned around and stopped, his cowl giving him a look of grimness in the light, making it difficult to see his face in the day time.

"Alright, i'll give you a few guesses as to why, but if you want to ask them, your going to have to find me." He said, as he concentrated, he felt the darkness and the shadows underneath him pull him in, until he started to sink into the ground. Soon he disappeared and then used his Unique Skill ability to run away, although he already had. He moved away swiftly, avoiding stepping on branches and leaves as he did, giving the woman no good trail of where he was. He breathed quietly through his nose and sat behind a boulder and a tree, snuggled into their area. A small river was nearby, and he felt his cape becoming translucent, and soon he barely able to be seen. He gave a smile. Good luck girl.

She completely expected the man to try and avoid her completely on the fact that she learned a secret from him. The way he disappeared was as if it were from movie or something, it was honestly one of the coolest things she had ever come to witness. But she shook her head and chuckled, "What a panzy. He can't even bring himself to talk to a girl." She laughed as she whispered to herself. She didn't even bother trying to look for him, he needed this quest just as much as she did, and he would show up when needed. She sauntered forward, strutting the entire time as was per usual when simply trying to walk for the well built woman.

After a few minutes of walking she saw the Whelpling sleeping on the ground. She looked about and didn't see him anywhere near, "Guess I'll just have to start this then." She spoke out loud. Vale clawed the tree she stood next to, the suddeness of the sound alerted the whelpling to there being someone near. It began to flutter up into the air and within the blink of an eye, Vale was already slamming her kitty fist into the face of the dragon. Although there was absolute no damage delt to the creature the stun effect appeared over it's head, Vale grinned as she hopped back waiting to see Hikoru dive in and annihilate the creature. She had a fairly good idea of where he would be coming from.

Hikoru watched as she started to attack the Dragon, and he sat still. If anything, he would wait to see what she could do. He didn't want to help her, not until he needed to. He moved up a bit and sat down on a branch, getting comfortable but keeping a close eye on the girl. If she started to struggle, he would hop in and attack the creature, more than likely finishing it off. But for now he watched in curiosity to see if she could handle herself. She had seemed confident in her abilities in the past, so why couldn't he trust her now? He breathed through his nose, making sure not to make a sound and sit still. He had done his best to stay silent, and he knew that his cloak was working well.

"Lets see how well you do girl..." He muttered to himself as he sat and crossed his arms underneath his cloak, awaiting to see what would happen next. A much as he would love to jump right into the fray, he knew that he needed to see if she was truly capable of defeating the creature. He gave a small sigh and held himself still, ignoring the tension in his legs and the adrenaline pumping in his heart.
