F3 PP) The Tree Kin

Spoiler

Description: On Floor 3, War has broke out between the Elvish people of the land and the Treant people of the Forest. Both sides are equally matched, neither of which has moved and taken enemy territory for some time. The Elves went to war with the Treants when the Treants had taken over their home deep in the woods, surrounded by Beautiful trees and flower patches, and in the center, a waterfall that cascaded a rainbow. Elves have come for your aid and guidance, asking if you would aid them in taking their homes back.

It had been a peaceful day, the wind was blowing in Sky's hair, the light rain had been keeping him cool in the sunlight as a sun shower blew onto him. It was peaceful, there were animals, birds chirping, wolves howling, squirrels running around, the world was peaceful on the third floor. It had been a peaceful day.... Had been.

Sky fell off the tree when a sudden CRASH happened nearby, falling right onto another tree.... That was moving. He looked down, seeing what looked like Elven swordsmen running away, the tree grabbing Sky off its head and throwing him at them. Sky managed to not get hurt by rolling at the right time, though he just ran, not knowing what the hell was going on. After about three minutes, he was back at the settlement, his peaceful day ruined, but he had a new quest avaliable, Elvish Rivalries...

Hey @HeiIv got a quest, doesn't seem to hard, want to come? I'm in the third floor main settlement on the north end of town.

Hei was just about to leave his shop to go and buy some ingredients for his lunch when he received a message from Stryder who told him about a new Quest he had gotten on the third floor. And asking him, if he wanted to join in. - Well, doing something with Stryder sounds more interesting than making food for myself. And I could use some more experience to get stronger. - the thought, while opening his menu and equipping his battle gear. Now that he was prepared for what ever this quest might be, Hei strolled towards the teleportation gate, but before he ported up, he opened up the menu, selected Stryder and sent him a message

Hi @Stryder , of course I'll join you with your new quest. I'll be there in about 10 minutes, just have to grab some food on my way towards you.

And so Hei teleported up to the third floor and began wandering through the town, looking for some place where he would get food, as he was becoming hungry. After nearly five minutes he had found a food vendor, who's shop was open to the street, who sold meat pie, which Hei hadn't had but that smelled so good, that he couldn't resist and bought one. Still eating he arrived at Stryders location, greeting him with a difficult to understand "Hmei Stryder." as his mouth was full of food.

While Hei had been trying to get to him, Sky had been going through his mind, racing about how to do this. Before he had gotten there, Sky had been approached by an elf, one of the warriors who had fled from the treant like him. She had asked him to help him, to help kill the treant king. He had accepted, wanting to help end this war. He had just come up with an idea when Hei showed up, stuffing his mouth full of food and introducing himself with a really weird sound that was hard to understand, and he didn't even understand what he had said.

"Its rude to speak with your mouth full" He said, crossing his arms and rolling his eyes in a joking fashion, hoping he wouldn't take him seriously. He waited for Hei to finish eating before he explained the quest.

"We gotta stop a war between elves and Treants, were taking the elven side. Its going to be a VERY long and grueling fight...." He said, sighing. It was true, it was going to take forever to do this fight....

Stryder, staying there, just rolled his eyes and told him, that it was rude to speak with a full mouth, so Hei finished eating, before he would ask about the quest they would do. The meat pie had been really delicious and Hei was happy that his stomach was full and he wouldn't have to start this quest hungry. When He had finished the pie, he asked Stryder what this quest was about, and his friend quickly told him, that they would end a war by killing one side's king, and that it will be the king of the treants.

"Ok, so we are just walking into the throne room, telling the walking trees that we need to talk to their king and kill it, or is there another plan?" he asked, as this sounded like it must be damn difficult to do, but he already expected the answer to be something like Let's just walk in there and kill as many of them as we can while coming closer to the king

Talking.... Talking.... Sky couldn't help but laugh at that thought. He had just been attacked by the Treants, and had watched the elves sprinting away for theres lives! He wasn't about to 'talk' his way out of this. He was going to go in and take them out, and Hei was here as backup. He was going to get payback for disturbing his sleep!! He laughed as he joked with himself, not realizing Hei probably had no idea why he was laughing.

"Theres a fight nearby, around four of the Treants fighting a few of the elves. I reckon we just rock up, take them out and improvise from there" He said, grinning, flashing his teeth and giving Hei a thumbs up, he was ready for this, he wondered if Hei was. He had gotten his level up quite a lot, the only part that is hard about this quest is that there was so many.... And his weapon of choice, his fists, weren't the best at multi targetting. He could take out any lone target no problem, but in groups.... That was his weakness.

Hei had expected, that Stryder wouldn't be a big friend of his idea of talking to the treants, but it seemed very strange, that he just started laughing, then he looked as if he was thinking and then just laughed again. So he wasn't sure what to think about that, but before he could make himself crazy about this reaction, Stryder told him, that there already was a fight between some elves and some treants, which changed everything. "You're right, if they are fighting already, we should just go and help those elves killing them. But we should see if there is a way to recharge energy before even more of them appear and attack us." Hei said, thinking about how terrible it was to fight without enough energy. They nearly had been close to no energy when they had to fight the mimic on their last adventure and it hadn't been fun.

Hei waited for Stryder to show him where to go, then grabbed his spear and was ready to kill some walking trees.

Sky lit up when Hei agree'ed with him. It was always nice when someone went along with his crazy shinanigans, there was rarely a time he didn't just find it fun as hell to be himself. He didn;t say much as he headed off into the forest, looking at the carnage. As they walked, they would see MASSIVE chunks torn out of tree's, sword marks, arrows, all kinds of bad stuff everywhere as the forest looked like a warzone...

Before long, they made it to a clearing, and a few tree's stood out... Looking strange. Sky, not trusting them, runs in, and delivers a brutal right hook to one of the tree's, its branch coming down on his head, right before two more appear near him and smash him hard, but his armor fully took the hit, only taking minimum damage. "Stupid tree's! Go back to being natures bea"utify!!!!

Shortly after they had left the settlement the forest looked like a warzone, with damaged weapons, arrows and wounds in the trees everywhere. This was when Hei realized, that it really was a war and not just some short quest as most of the others, the Elves and the treants must have been fighting for weeks or even longer and he didn't believe that there was a way without fighting to end it. He just wanted to tell Stryder, that he now fully was convinced, when his friend charged in and attacked a tree, that instantly exploded.

Two other trees or treants as one should call them came closer, surrounding Stryder, as he had just attacked their partner. As Hei didn't know if Stryder had noticed them, he yelled "Be careful, there are two more closing in on you. I'll try to distract them for a moment." and he ran towards the treants, the spear beginning to glow as he charged a Forceful Attack. Moments later the glowing spear hit the first one, sending a shockwave crushing into the second and damaging both of them for nearly half of their HP.

Hei had called out a little two late, the two tree's having already smacked him as hard as they could, however there branches had literally bounced off him, not being able to get past his armor rating. He grinned, then saw Hei rushing in with a sword art! He quickly ducked, the spear hitting the one next to hiom and a shockwave going over his head, smacking the other one. In response to Heis attack, and with the added suprised he leapt up, spinning and kicking one of the tree's so hard it smashed into a rock, exploding. The other one swung at him, but completely missed, Sky sliding past it, leaping up and once again spinning, kicking it in half. Both went down without much of a fight.

"Thats three down, nice work Hei" He said with a grin. He was glad that they had managed to that easily. This was going to be easy!

"Nice work. If it'll be that easy all the time, we should be through this quest in no time, even though we should recharge our energy before entering the next fight" Hei answered Stryders comment, reminding him, that even though it wasn't that hard fighting them, rushing in without preparation could end bad. While he was waiting for his energy to recharge, Hei was looking at the chaos the war between elves and treants had created. - It looks like this is a terrible war, probably to find out who will be the owner of this forest. I wonder if they realize, that they destroy the land they are fighting for? - he wondered. Then he noticed a wounded elf at the far side of the field and walks over their, looking out if there were more of them treants. When he reached the elf without being attacked, Hei looked at it's wounds and says "We're here to help you win this war, so don't give up. I'll help you back to your group" and without waiting for a response Hei puts away his spear and lifts up the wounded.

"If its this easy the whole time, we will be done before lunch... Just gotta hope that we don't get ambushed to badly" He says, remembering how small the breaks they had gotten while fighting the wolves during there hunt they had gone on. He really wanted to get this done, he hated seeing the destroyed nature... This was a beautiful world, and the place was meant to be amazing to look at. He watched as Hei walked off, and the moment he was at least a little while away, Sky smacked a tree as hard as he could, punching it insanely hard with the immortal object warning popping up.

He then sighed, taking a deep breath and just sitting down, looking at all the destruction. It just wasn't good, it just... looked horrible. The place was trashed so bad... He wanted to fix this place, and he knew he had to do it!

Hei was helping the wounded elf back to his landsmen, when he heard a sound from where he had left Stryder. The black haired man had just punched a tree and now was looking at something at the tree, but this was something he might do. Hei wasn't to sure about it, but Stryder was a martial arts fighter and maybe he was just training while his Energy recharged. - I wonder how many of those treants are out there, waiting for us to come for them. If they are part of a war, that spans this floor, they might be pretty many of them, which wouldn't make our job easier. - Those were the kind of things Hei was thinking of, while he walked around, looked at some of the stuff that had been left, like broken weapons and destroyed armour. He had hoped that there would be anything left that one could use for crafting, like a piece of metal that he could use to enhance his light armour or pieces of weapons that one could use to make some fancy clothing with shiny bits all over them, but there was nothing he could use.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sky was insanely made, he loved nature, he always had, and then this.... This warzone. The forests were burned, tree's were smashed down, sword cuts smashed all the trees leaving humongus blade marks all over the forest floor. In the area that sunlight should barely get through the canopy, it was scorching downwards. His energy was slowly regenerating, as was his health, though it was instantly recovered out of combat, as he had barely taken any damage.

He yelled again, punching the tree normally, before taking a deep breath, walking towards Hei, who seemed to be changing his attire. He wondered how many more there was, for all he knew they were fighting an entire army, maybe just a small squad, he didn't know, but he was hoping it was only a small squad. This was going to take forever with the small amount of Energy he had to use.... he wanted to be a higher level, that would allow him to be so much stronger! So much... But he just wasn't there yet....

When Hei looked up from a pile of broken branches and left weaponry, or what was left of it, he saw Stryder coming over to him. On Stryders face one could see, that he wasn't happy with the way their fighting was going, or maybe it was just about everything here on this floor. As Hei didn't exactly knew what was going on, he turned to his friend and asked "Hey Stryder, what's on your mind? You look like you're not to happy with what is happening around here. is it the waiting for the energy to recharge or is something else distressing you?" While he talked with Stryder, he saw how his energy nearly reached it's maximum. - Nice, my energy is nearly recharged, so we can soon find our next few treants to fight and hope to not find the whole army that might be in this forest. -

Being full recharged, Hei decided that the treants would be at the opposite site of this clearing, so he walked over there, carefully looking at every tree as if they would start moving any moment now, but he didn't see a single one that moved more than just some branches flying in the wind.

Quest UPDATE

3/6 Treant Soldiers Remaining

1/1 Commander remaining

1/1 King remaining

Sky followed Hei to the clearing, keeping himself pressed against tree's as they walked through the forest. He was careful, making sure taht each one was an object before even touching it. As they walked, he looked at his fellow companion, answering his question.

"I don't like violence, not on this scale... Its sick, and nasty, and does NOT deserve to desecrate some place that should be beautiful..." He says, growling as he finishes it. He wanted to kill this dam king, and he was determined to do it. The king was going to die, the last soldiers were going to die... He was ending this war, TODAY. He didn't want it to continue... Though he knew the quest would still be out there for those wanting to take it, meaning this.... will never be over. A thought which utterly destroyed Sky on the inside, he wished to protect this forest... But it would never grow back, not while they were in this game. Not on this floor... A floor he planned to stay away from.

Stryder walked way more carefully than Hei did, which made him think about how dangerous this place might actually be, so before Stryder started talking, Hei began to be as careful as his friend and moved from tree to tree. While they walked towards where there probably were more of the treants they had to fight, Stryder told him, that he hated this scale of violence and that felt really bad for this beautiful place being destroyed like this. This was of course reasonable and Hei felt bad for what happened here too, so they would stop it and end the war by finding the leader of the treants and killing it.

After a few hundred meters moving from tree to tree, they reached a part of the forest that was darker and nearly every tree looked as if it had a face and strange branchy arms. Hei poked them with his spear to find out if they were objects and he was lucky for most of the time. When he was sure it was all just imagination and that all those trees were normal, the next one didn't give the immortal object sign, but moved and growled in a deep gnarly voice. "Oh my god, there's one" he yelled, as he got surprised by the monster and jumped back a little.

Sky reacted quite quickly after Hei jumped back, being shocked by the tree in front of him. He kicked off his left leg, doing a full three sixty, his right leg flashing out and smashing one tree, sending it back, the second one was in his path, so he kept his momentum up smashing it to. As he came close to the third one however, he slipped, though quickly concentratiing he managed to gather his slip, turning it into a powerful kick that sent the last one flying back. Within a second however, they all leapt out and attacked! Sky was a tiny bit to slow. The first two attacked him, Sky managing to parry the blows, barely, but as the last one came in it smashed him HARD, sending him into a tree, getting a 'hph' out of him as he was winded, getting up and staring at them.

"There can;t be many left!"

Hei was impressed by how quick Stryder reacted, as he would never have been so quick. He was still standing where he had landed after jumping back, when Stryders attack connected with the first Tree and it sent it back. - He is damned strong, he doesn't even use a weapon for those attacks. I hope I'll reach his strength one day- he thought, when he saw, how Stryder managed to hit all three of them. But what happened next, hit him with surprise. All the monsters landed their attack on him, and he wasn't able to do anything against it. When Stryder crashed into the tree, Hei yelled "F_ck, are you ok?" and charged in himself. His spear gripped at the end, so it was as long as possible, he began swinging it from side to side, and before he arrived at the monsters, he had the Forceful Attack swordskill charged. Releasing the power of the skill, he swung and stabbed at the Treants, and every time the spear hit, it left a big red mark. After a few hits, the first one exploded into pixels, just to be followed by the second one. A really heavy strike hit the last one, the spear dug through it, and when it exited it on the other side, the monster dissolved.

Panting Hei tried to understand what he had just done, then he remembered, that Stryder had been sent flying and turned to him to make sure, his friend was alright.

Sky groaned as he got up, shaking himself of as he dusted off the dust and twigs. That fight had been ended quite quickly, thankfully, however... He heard noise right behind him, making him just KNOW this wasn't over. He had heard Hei yell over, asking if he was alright, having seen Sky get smacked into a dam tree, BY THREE OF THEM! While down, he had seen Hei kill the three with a quick sword art, but this fight wasn't over... Yet. As he got up, he turned, seeing a massive treeant behind him, a commander! This thing was at least three times the size, and looked like it had been through hell and back. It swung its deformed and battered branch at Sky, who simply ducked under it, his senses more alert after being beaten into a tree! He dashed in, using his five swords art, one he hadn't used in awhile, delivering chopping points to its joints, making the tree shake and stun for a moment.

"This one is a bit of a b****, lets kill it!"

Killing the three Treant Soldiers had taken over a third of his energy and he was happy that the fight was over. Hei hoped, that he would be able to recharge the missing energy before they had to fight the next monster and even more important, so Stryder could regain his lost HP, but they weren't as lucky. A giant crooked tree monster appeared and instantly attacked Stryder, but the fighter was quick enough to evade the attack, using his martial arts skills to then attack the Commander on his own. The thick bark negated nearly all damage, but Stryder hit the right spots, so the big ass tree stopped moving for a moment. Hei grabbed his spear and charged the most powerful swordskill he knew, but on his way over to the Treant he stumbled, activated the skill and after hitting the floor multiple times, the spear fell from his hand and got stuck in a piece of wood on the ground. He stood back up and tried pulling it out, but it seemed to be stuck. Cursing and yelling, Hei stood there and had to watch Stryder and the giant tree fight each other.
