(PP-F1) Growing Up <<Secret Medicine of the Forest>>

Recommended Posts

Fae kept running through the woods, trying to spot her target, the variant nepent. The only difference between the normal nepents and the variant was that it was a little bigger compared to the normal ones and there was a large red flower on it's head. It was still just as gross to look at, which made Fae just want to find it and kill it even more. It would definitely stand out in the greenery of this forest with the red flower it had, so Fae was mostly looking for the flower.

Fae spotted the red flower and started to dart towards it, but the variant had seen her coming apparently, because it moved one of it's roots right in front of Fae, causing her to trip and fall. Fae stood back up and got a grip on her dagger. It glowed it's usual shade of pink as she activated the Starlight Slash sword art. Fae jumped up and slashed the nepent right through it's head and jumped over it. It's health bar depleted immediately, Fae having done enough damage to get past the mitigation and one hit kill the variant. Before the thing could shatter, Fae jumped up again and cut off the flower from it's head and snatched it. The nepent exploded into a ton of crystals and dropped the item that was needed for the quest, the <<Nepent's Ovule>>.

Fae ran back towards Embers, seeing her red hair in the distance. "Fae took care of the variant nepent and Fae already got the item as well." Fae told her as she handed her the flower with a smile on her face.

While Fae shot around the forest, hunting down her Nepent, Embers didnt' bother. While ordinarily, she was all for adventure, she had a feeling. A gut feeling. She was an animal, a preditor, and this Nepent, was one also. She was standing, tall and proud, in its territory. Any damn predator would not stand for it, and it would strike. Given Shrimp could deal a killin' blow, she had no doubt her Scythe would carve it open. She grinned a violent grin, ohh let it ambush her. She would deal it a punishment worse than it would.

"Come on! You have 1 shot to kill me, otherwise my Scythe will tear you apart!" She yelled, a clear challenge. She would LOVE for it to be one of those sneaky monsters, god, there was nothing better than getting her Scythe into a damn idiot who thought it would kill her in a pathetic sneak attack. And true enough, the monster struck her from behind. The tendrills piercing her armour, but there was no pain. There was just the grin of the girl, the grin of a devil. She spun around, and her Scythe landed a crushing blow on its center, and seconds later, the Whirlwind Shockwave connected. The monster was nearly dead! Idiot, it had one chance.

She spotted Fae nearby, but gave the Shrimp a one-handed shove to keep her back. This was her fight, and while she could congradulate the kid on getting the flower, she had her own war. She spun her Scythe around her, before taking stance. Feet apart, ready to charge forwards. Her Scythe lined up behind her back, and her face. Those ruby eyes burnt with violence, a forest fire of emotions that the violent smirk barely contained. "Com on you damn overgrown plant. Take your best damn shot, because if you don't kill me in the first shot, i'm tearing you open" While it was a monster before her, Embers didn't care. Anything, and anyone, would die if it stood before her!

Fae was about to say something else about the nepent, but then Embers shoved her away and Fae fell down onto the ground. She saw the variant nepent and decided to just stay sitting on the ground until Embers finished her little bout with it. Fae already dealt with her own, so it was only right to let Embers have her fun with this one.

Fae watched Embers use her whirlwind sword art to strike the nepent, but it didn't quite finish it off. Fae wanted to jump in and finish the job, but she didn't want Embers to get mad at her for taking her kill. Instead, Fae just sat behind a bush and cheered Embers on. "You got this miss Embers, obliterate that nepent!" Fae cheered, waving one hand over at her. She already knew that Embers could handle it, just one more hit would kill it, but Fae still liked to pretend there were stakes.

Ember usually couldn't stand cheering for her, often times it only occurred in a few places. Namely, fights. Half the time, well...most, she was the one starting the fight. But for some reason, to hear someone shout out support. The girl blinked, then blinked again. What the hell? She looked around. She was, back home? She found herself, somehow, in a bar. One of the many bars she had kicked the crap out of a LOT of people, namely because she really really wanted to just beat someones face in for staring at her too long. She knew this wasn't where she was, but why...Ohhhh. That's what it was huh? Her dad had warned her about this happening, well, time to let her body go for the ride.

Using the girls lack of movement, the Nepent struck, but this time, her armour easily deflected the blow, refusing the damage down to only a single point. The red-haired, crimson eyed girl, started laughing. Loudly, proudly. Laughter of a conquerer. She slowly opened her eyes, and stared at fae. There was nothing kind about the smile the girl gave her.

"You're right shrimp. Obliteration is on the table for that plant, and anything else that stands in my way" The smile on her face was barely human, more of an angry beast than the girl who had willingly thrown away her Scythe to prove she wasn't a threat. Slowly, the girl began walking towards the plant, a grin eating up her face as her Scythe hung lazily to her side. She was Death, and this plant, her victim.

Fae started to shudder when Embers turned towards her with the smile on her face. It did not look right at all, and Fae was getting nervous. Embers was taking minimal damage from the nepent by not moving, and it just made Fae even more nervous. Embers had something planned, which would have been fine with anyone else, but this was Embers, and she already was in her killing attitude, so Fae decided to show up and not say anything and just nod to Embers in response to her saying that obliteration would happen to anything in her way.

Apparently at some point, the nepent Embers was facing had noticed Fae sitting behind the bush and it didn't want Fae getting involved either. She didn't notice at first, but the one of the nepent's tendrills had wrapped around Fae and started to lift her up. Before Fae could do anything else, the tendrill hooked her onto one of the branches of the tree behind Fae and left her hanging there, unable to get involved with the fight at all. Fae didn't want to get Embers angry at her either, so she still just kept quiet and watched from the branch.

The girl watched her target, but her eyes were lost. She wasn't seeing the game around her, but rather, a dead target. She pulled out her Scythe, walking slowly forwards towards her target. The Nepent threw its tendrils forwards and they, once again, crashed into the black Reaper armour the girl wore. 1 damage. She smirked and kept her slow walk towards the target that was dead. Her eyes a firestorm, her soul burning.

The girl let out a battle cry, the cry of the damned, fueled by rage and emotion, before she threw herself forwards. Her Scythe cut through its face in half, and with the other half of her scythe, she snagged the loot she needed. Landing on the ground, the girl looked back to where Fae was. But, seeing the girl missing, there was no panic. Nothing but emotion of war on the girls face.

"Maybe it'll put up more of a fight...bloody coward..." She muttered walking forwards to where Fae was, unaware where the girl had done and slowly losing her interest in where the shrimp was.

Fae watched as Embers let out a battle cry and slice straight through the nepent with her Scythe and kill it. Embers still had her war face on, and Fae was debating actually saying anything to Embers, in fear of facing Embers's wrath. Embers started to walk forward towards where Fae was, but all she would have to do would be to look up and Fae would immediately be in her view.

Fae tried to get off the branch the nepent had hooked her on, but she was hooked on tight through her cloak and undies, which made it nearly impossible to get off. Her arms couldn't reach far enough behind her, so all she could do was hope that Embers spotted her. But Fae could already tell that Embers was losing interest and was about to leave, so Fae waved her arms and called out to her. "Hey! Miss Embers! Fae is right here! Can you help Fae down?" Fae asked, looking down at Embers.

Embers looked up at Fae, and in that moment, the anger within her eyes was clear. But, the fire slowly burnt itself out and the girl simply nodded her head. She would get the Shrimp down. She shrugged, before placing her Scythe on her ground and looked at the tree. It lacked any clear handholds, but that wouldn't stop her. Leaping up, and climbed the tree easily and reached the branch, a sly smirk on her face as she picked up Fae with her right hand, before slowly climbing down. While part of her wanted to simply drop Fae, she wasn't' sure off the girls HP and that would be a cruel way to die, even for a 9 year old. That wasn't her fault, that would be her being mean.

"Heh, guess i lost it a little there eh? I didn't end up hitting you did i? Bloodlust gets the better of me" There was no apology in her voice, no regret. Simply, a statement about who she was and how easily she lost herself to the whirlwind of emotions that burnt within her heart. The girl shrugged her head back to town, the quest was over. It was time to head back.
