[OP-F2] SAO Without SA

Recommended Posts

There was a second method of fighting used in the game that not many considered. Throw away your Sword Arts and you find yourself using skill and stats on your own. The speed and strength of the movements surely are determined by the stats of the avatars, but the movements at the end of the day belonged to the owner, not the system forcing the movements. Sure, this isn't the most effective way to get damage onto an opponent, but it seemed like a fun sport that perhaps the rest of Aincrad would like to try out. None of this stupid number nonsense, bring back the good old days where fighting required your own movements! Not to say that the numbers are not fun, but Sey wished to experiment with something new, and this was a given chance to do so.

It's a brilliant idea for even the new players to get involved. While their stats may theoretically be lower, they fight on near even terms with the higher leveled players. Without equipment, levels barely add anything that makes them different from the lower level players. Depending on how they build themselves, perhaps some more interested in evasion would be speedy. Tanks perhaps can take a bit more natural damage. DPS likely will find their movements heavier and faster to carry out. Every nerd here has some fighting style in the real world, the game allowed them to amplify those styles out here and no one bothered to even test it out.

A public invitation has been sent out to Aincrad for those who wish to participate in fun sparing like this to come along. To keep things safe in the event where one wishes to slam massive greatswords through the hearts of those participating, he made sure to locate those who come along to a small square arena located within the safe zone. The rules were simple, fight until one runs out of energy and cannot continue anymore, or until one of the two get knocked out of the square.

So he waited in the middle of the square to see those who arrive take a shot at a fight against another, or perhaps himself if it comes down to that.

Sey Sez: Due to the Nature of this thread, it will be deemed impossible to lower anyone's HP below zero, as HP will not be calculated for combat of this thread. All knockouts and fatigue will be explained with a shortage of energy. Stats contribute little to this thread as well, with maybe the exception of level and builds. Determine your speed, strength, energy, and skills based off your character and their nature. Oh, and no equipment, skills, or mods active.

Sey Also Sez: No dice or numbers will be used for this thread. Fighting will be freelance, meaning those who fight will be determining whether hits connect or if they're dodged on their own. Naturally, no godmodding or metagaming, this is supposed to be for fun. Feel free to use any weapon you like in this thread as well.

Spending an entire day fighting without the assistance of the system will be interesting.. Apparently there is a invitation to those who wish to participate in a friendly sparing match with no weapons, skills, or mods.. This will be an interesting day to spend my time off, but it also seems fun. Whoever this player this.. I hope this turns out to be something amazing.

There were a few players running around the Town of Beginning and it seemed like everything has become dry, but there were still a few things he had to there here before he could leave. His store was stuck on the first floor, so he would be able to help the lower leveled players with their leveling. Having the ability to now craft crystals will definitely help him when he reached toward the front-lines and fight with the strongest that Aincrad could offer, but for now, he was going to have to stay at the lower leveled floor until he has finished his set of quests on the first floor. Although he was laying around on the roofs of some abandon workshops, Simba could not stop himself from hearing about an invitation about dueling someone, but with an odd request.

He peaked over the edge of the building and found out that it was somewhere on the second floor, but he has never been passed the first floor. He stood up on his two feet, taking a deep breath and sighed. 'I have no idea where to even go find this player, but if they sent out the public invitation, that would mean I should be able to go with no problem. It should be easy enough for me to make my way toward the second floor without any problem.' Simba took off toward the gate of the town and stared up at the mini-map that located the area that allowed players to advance further to the next floor. He tapped on his map with his index and middle finger, marking the map, which will guide him through the first floor.

Simba made his way, evading all the Frenzy Boars and Dire Wolves in the process, but his thirst to grind almost made him strike one of the boars on his way to his destination. If he were to attack them, it would just cause a massive herd to follow him and it would be a problem if he never showed up to the event. After dodging, jumping and rolling around the field, Simba was able to make his way up toward the second floor. Everything was different, the floor was not grassy like the first floor, but vast and mountainous.

Arriving at a new settlement known as Urbus, Simba began to look around the area, trying to figure out who was the player that sent the invitation. Still being the low leveled player he is, he looked like a lost animal.
