[PP-F3] Getting Some Fresh Air (Piera)

Recommended Posts

Jomei's eyes lit up just as Piera's had when she threw her own idea into the pot-- creating a sort of crystal that warped the criminals to the prison, rather than having to personally escort them. "Thats a great idea!" Jomei added, his excitement apparent by the grin he wore, "Heh, and you were worried about not fitting into the guild well." The ginger placed a hand on his chin, "Like I said.. I'm still figuring out the details of everything, but I feel like.. if this guild becomes big enough.. we could regulate it ourselves. Though, I've also heard that the prison under the Black Iron Palace already has NPC guards.. But I still have yet to go and check it out." The ginger pulled his knees towards his chest, letting his forearms rest atop his his knees as he looked out towards the lake in front of them, "Like you said.. all other guilds like to say they are in it to help and protect others.. so I'd like to try and keep this idea within the guild, at least for now. Give us something different and unique to help out with, while other guilds focus on other aspects.. I really hope we can pull this off." he said with a soft smile.

Jomei watched as Adere soared through the air, trying to fly circles around Jareth, only to be shown that the owl griffith could keep up with her speed. Once the brown bird caught another glimpse of Jomei, she tore to the side and flew directly towards the man, slowing to a stop just above Jomei, and lowering herself to perch upon Jomei's armored shoulder. With a smile, the ginger reached his opposite hand up to scratch at the brown feathers just above the green scarf that wrapped around her neck. "So where is Lee anyway? I would have thought he would have been out here with you. Or is he busy as well?" he ended with a chuckle, teasing Piera about her definition of busy.

Perking up as Jomei affirmed her idea with such infectious positivity, the brunette chuckled, fussing with her collar bashfully. She still had a few concerns about fitting into the guild, namely being her low level, but she was starting to feel more hopeful. Sitting up a bit straighter as Jomei spoke seriously about what vague details he did know, the alchemist hummed thoughtfully. "I mean if it's on the first floor it should be pretty easy to check...in theory at least." She frowned for a moment, thinking before simply doing it out loud, "I mean it's on the first floor so you wouldn't think anything would be high leveled, but it is a prison...the NPC guards would have to be strong enough to be able to keep anyone in....or out possibly."

Following the Irishman's gaze over the pond, the brunette's expression darkened at his sensible words. She still hadn't forgotten the Knights of the Blood Oath's silence after Lowenthal's murder. If they didn't even care about the death of one of their own, why would they care about trying to protect others from the same fate? She figured most of the other frontline guilds would be much of the same. But as she saw Jomei's smile, she tried to pull her mind back to the present and forced a small smile with a nod. "Yeah, you got it. My lips are sealed...well exempting Lee? But I'll swear him to secrecy, promise." Glancing at the guild master for the okay on it. She rarely ever kept anything from her partner after all, but if it was for his own good, she could.

Jareth's stopping power wasn't quite as good as Adere's and thus when he zoomed to follow the owl, he scrambled to stop himself on Piera's shoulder, claws latching on for purchase, an errant wing flapping in her face. "PF-gah, claws Jare! Nn, jeez." Straightening her glasses with a huff, the healer tucked his wing in out of the way before depositing the griffon on her lap. Glancing back at the ginger at his question, she smiled at the mention of her fiance before rolling her eyes at her friend's teasing. "Maybe. Today I think he's off grinding on floor 2. I think." Shrugging, Piera explained, "He doesn't always tell me where he's going, but I can see roughly where he is." Her tone made it fairly clear that she wasn't entirely pleased with the situation but was resigned to it nonetheless.

Jomei nodded in agreement, "Yeah. Especially since its within the safe zone.. so even then, its not like anyone could do anything in the worst case scenario. And the Guards are programmed to go after any players with an orange crystal who enter the safe zone. I'm planning on taking a trip down to the first floor, find someone I can speak with to see if this is a possible plan. In a perfect world, all we would have to do is capture them with the crystal. I would imagine that those with a permanent orange crystal would be trapped, unable to escape with the fear of being killed by the guards, while those with a temporary orange marker will be released when it turns green again." Jomei chuckled, "But again.. there's only so much you can negotiate with an NPC who has a limited number of responses."

The man could not help but let out a small laugh when Piera promised her secrecy about the topic, "I didn't necessarily mean keep it in the guild as in keep it a secret. I mean more keeping it our job to do so. Though, I suppose if other groups found out, they might look into taking the idea from us. B-but anyway, of course you could tell Lee.. And I'm sure he's fine out grinding on his own. He's a tough guy, takes a lot more than just a few low leveled mobs to put him down." he chuckled, placing another hand on the girl's shoulder.

Eyebrows twitching upwards slightly, Piera commented, "Ohhh, the prison itself is in the safe zone? That changes things then."  Fingers rubbing against pursed lips thoughtfully as he spoke about the various concerns and plans, the brunette nodded. "If you need a volunteer, I'd be willing to go with. I'm green so the Guards can't much do anything to me. And safe zone, so no worries about other players... Although..." The alchemist's gaze sharpened as a thought occurred to her, "We should probably test out the whole 'temporary orange' thing to be sure. And see how far those NPCs programming does go heh. They might have information we could use. Things about bail or time incarcerated for certain punishments or something. Wouldn't hurt to check out. Only takes one little hit to make a person orange, right?" Shrugging off the concern about fighting another player considering they'd likely be a friend or fellow guild member. All sorts of other hypotheses and questions were popping up in her mind.

Grimacing in vague annoyance she nodded sharply in acknowledgment to Jomei's point. "Taking the idea or just squashing it altogether for whatever reason." Her faith in most other frontline guilds (excluding Jomei's and now her own) was next to nothing after everything she'd seen and experienced. Smiling slightly though as she was given the ok to tell Lee, Piera nodded with a sigh ruffling Jareth's feathers as he stretched in her lap. "Yeah, I know that's probably it. I just worry. Can't help it." Her nose scrunched up in a rather mixed emotion of trying to smile but rather failing until she felt her friend's hand on her shoulder. Glancing sidelong at him with a bit more relief. It was probably a bit too mushy to say aloud right now, but she felt better just with Jomei being here. "Thanks Nick."

Piera's excitement about this whole plan spawned a bit of laughter that bubbled up from within Jomei. "You're more into this idea than I am." Sitting a bit more upright, Jomei let his laughter quell before continuing, "Now, like I said.. this is all information that I've heard. Whether it is true or not, I can't be completely sure. Wouldn't be the first time I unexpectedly ended up out of the safe zone while wandering a town." Jomei's eyes darted to the side, recalling somehow traveling out of Taft's safe zone while trying to help Lessa a short while ago. "So we can check it out sometime soon, but I'd rather most of the guild go.. just in case we end up biting off a bit more than we can chew."

After reassuring that Piera's lover was doing just fine down on the second floor on his own, Jomei chuckled. "Trust me.. I know that feeling far too well. And I'm sure I cause the same concern in Telrenya... And I can assure you that I'm probably a lot more reckless than Lee." Jomei had too many stories than he would like to admit that backed his claim on that. Jomei's focus was soon shifted from the brunette as a small notification for a message appeared in front of him. Turning his torso away from Piera, Jomei tapped on the message to open its contents, a soft smile stretching across to his cheeks. With a quick response back, Jomei closed the contents before pushing him up to his feet. "Well, I think I'm going to head back home. Telrenya just got back from working in her shop all day." Jomei turned his head back to Piera, "Now don't be a stranger, Alyssa. I'll see you soon."

Shrugging a little sheepishly at Jomei's amusement concerning her enthusiasm, the alchemist explained, "Well it's been a while since I've been actually useful. Or even got to do much. And...well I guess it's a little personal." Her smile was wry. "Be nice to see the guys that got us," Referring to Jomei as well as Lee and herself. "Finally getting a taste of what they deserve behind bars." Nodding in understanding as the ginger explained that all of what he knew was heard second hand and just rumor until he confirmed with the entire guild for safety's sake. "Let me know when n where an I'll be there. With potions and healing if nothing else." Giving a brief chuckle.

Giving the Irishman a 'look' as he admitted to likely causing his own significant other some worry, the brunette shook her head while brushing her right index finger over her left in a disapproving motion. "Shaaaame." Her guilt mongering was cut short as she saw a window pop up in front of Jomei, quieting while he read and replied, tickling Jareth's furry underbelly as he trilled up at Adere before dissolving into purrs. Smiling at the sweetness of the simple and homey declaration of her friend's departure, Piera stood along with him, the griffon in her lap grumbling at being displaced. "I could never be a stranger to you baka." Sticking out her tongue for added effect before smiling warmly.

"...Thanks for coming by and dragging me out of my funk Nick, seriously. I'm really looking forward to being a part of your guild." Hesitating for a split second, the older woman darted in for a quick hug, somewhat relishing the human contact a bit more than necessary before pulling away bashfully. "Let me know if you ever need anything fearless leader!" Waving as he started walking away before picking up Jareth and doing the obnoxious thing of making him wave as well, cooing in a cutesy voice.

Jomei shrugged his shoulders with a chuckle as Piera shamed him for worrying Telrenya with his sometimes reckless antics, "Hey.. I don't try to get into trouble.. Someone's gotta risk their life get all of our asses out of here." After reading over the sudden message from Telrenya and raising to his feet, Piera did the same, dismissing the owl griffon from her lap to the side. "Hm, good." Jomei said in response, reaching a hand across to ruffle the top of Piera's brunette head. "I look forward to seeing you around a lot more too. It was about time I came over here and just dragged you out of the house myself." After a short, silent second, Piera lunged forward, sliding her arms under Jomei's and wrapping her arms around him with a quick hug. The man stood shocked for a second, before smiling, and returning the embrace. "I'll be sure to keep in touch, no worries." Raising his hand with a friendly wave, Jomei turned from Piera and her mansion and began the walk back towards Delilah.
