(PP-F2) Upon Wings of Fury <Feeding the Enemy>

Recommended Posts

Embers wasn't sure, where she was. She blinked her eyes, although her body didn't move. She knew she was on the second floor, she knew she was in the mountain ranges. But that was, well, about it. She had been with Domarus when everything turned red and she just...lost absolute control. After that, well, she knew she'd made a challenge, and now, she stood near the top of one of them, peering down, looking out with crimson eyes for her targets.

She accessed her inventory and brought out a snack, namely, a ham roll. Because she was hungry, and because it would focus her mind away from the blood rush she'd just lost herself too. It was the worst, and best, so far. So far gone she'd gone she'd wanted nothing more than to beat the ever living crap out of Domarus, and even Keres if the girl tried to step up. Fighting was in the Williams Blood, had been for her father and even beyond that, if the stories were true. The girl let out a snort. If her 'family line' was to be believed, the Williams were once Norse. A claim that she doubted, yet honestly wouldn't be surprised to learn.

Up on her vantage, there were two things the girl was watching for. The first was Domarus, with his maid alongside him. She knew the hunt, knew its steps all too well. He would hunt, with her, to find herself. She would simply have to spot them first. However, she also looked above. Domarus had himself a familiar, a drake. She knew there was a ever-high chance of him using his familiar to hunt her, and she would try and spot it before it spotted her. After all, a hunter must remain a mystery to its prey.

Things had gotten.... Complicated at this point.  Embers was still a target Domarus wanted to add into his list of General's, but she wasn't the easiest to obtain.  Furthermore her tactics and personality made it difficult as well.  She absolutely refused to keep a leveled head, literally preferring to be more relatable to a wild animal than a human being when it came to combat and emotions.  She refused to allow herself to become calm, preferring to let herself go completely to the blood rage that threatened to take over her.  Whenever this happened all logic, reason and rationality went out the window and she became a pure living weapon of mass destruction.  It didn't matter who you were she would destroy you.  In addition she was the type of person who would come in and take whatever she wanted instead of biding her time for the right moment.  Patience meant nothing to her and she did not understand the value of it.  The woman was a very, very dangerous being.  Someone who could not be controlled and would threaten everything he had stood for....  And yet.  Domarus had a plan.  He had a way to contain her destructive nature.  The first step was to fight her and put her in her place.  She had demanded to see the flame he claimed to have and so he would put her into the dirt.  The second place was to teach her to trust his word, no matter what happened.  And if he could do that, then he would direct and lead her in battle, channelling her blood rage towards what they needed to destroy rather than everything around her.  Domarus stood there for only a brief moment, the fire in his eyes fierce and cruel.  Then, just as she began to feed on the food, he acted.

Domarus activated the charge skill, shooting forward faster than any human reflex could prevent.  This was because he'd been training with his heavy armor on and was still fast with the heavy armor.  Without it however, the weight couldn't hold him and his raw strength back.  He grabbed her face as he charged and threw her into the cliffside and rushed at her still.  He couldn't activate the charge skill twice but neither would he need to.  He may not have the martial arts skill but that didn't mean for a second that he didn't know the arts.  Domarus would rush at her, parrying every blow she made no matter where it came from and would immediately counter it with very powerful strikes.  He was not holding back and would destroy her if she allowed him to.  If she ever dodged his strike would crack the stone behind.  He knew he had the orange crystal from attacking her, but that would be temporary unless he killed her.  He could afford to wait until morning to return to the social world.  Rhozarth did not interfere and neither did Keres.  They watched as Domarus became the harbinger of fury, nothing but hatred, disgust, and unquenching flames in his eyes.

The girl, even with blood hazed eyes, couldn’t see Domarus anywhere. She felt a sense of safety, her eyes were damn good at spotting prey of all sorts. Unaware Domarus had his eyes set on her, the girl rolled her shoulders. Part of her wanted to relax from the blood rush, she loved the feeling of being out of control. But, she didn’t want to hurt Domarus, at least, not in the traditional sense. A scrap, yes, she’d kill for that. But to kill, ohh no. He didn’t burn like her, but there was something in him. Something she wanted to pull out kicking and screaming, just to see whatever it was that made her blood burn.

Right as Domarus Charged, Embers blood ignited and she lost herself to a blood rush. She could just smell danger, like a bloodhound, and her crimson yees hunted for her target. The curse that came from her as she was thrown backwards was loud, a declaration of war itself as the girls hands tightened into fists and a smirk erupted onto her face. Her stance appeared, at first glance, lazy, casual with over a dozen easy to exploit openings.

Her first counter-strike was brutally punished, and the girls animalistic mind quickly located its solution. Sustain, so she worked to block as many strikes as possible, each one with a savage ruthlessness one would expect from an animal in the wild. Her blood rush focused purely on him, and her body shifted, deflecting or dodging as much as she could. She wasn’t much for agility, so most were blocked over dodged.

“You call this a flame?!” She yelled in his face as she lashed out with her foots, aiming for his knees to cripple him firmly “Hell you call this a fight, you’re barely a spark!” In a savage movement, the girl went to smash her forehead into his own “I TOLD YOU TO SHOW ME A GODS-DAMNED FLAME! SHOW ME WHY I SHOULD CARE ABOUT YOU!!!”

Martial arts was an incredible fighting style that gave one the advantage in a fight.  However most martial arts were used to disarm and defend rather than completely obliterate another.  That's why Domarus tended to add a few twists of his own that would normally kill a person in the real world, but in this world it just brought them low.  When Embers went for a headbutt he returned the favor, even used his back muscles to escalate the velocity of his movements, striking her and knocking her own head back.  He just wanted her to shut the hell up and fight.  She was barely fighting back, it was pathetic.  This was the woman who believed she could just take whatever she wanted?  Pah!  His next strike was meant to break through her blocks, hitting her or forcing her own arms to hit herself.  He was attempting to lure her into an attack of her own but if she wouldn't, well.  He knew ways to make her regret that.  At any rate, whether she attacked back or not he'd grab her and throw her away from the cliff, violently into a nearby boulder.  The instant he threw her he rushed at her again, intending to do far more than just mere punch parry and pin down.  This time if he got a solid hold, he'd twist her arms in a way that would have a good chance of snapping her bones if she had them in this digital form.  If she gave him the opportunity he'd get behind her and kick the base of her spine, shattering that.  The human body had so many weaknesses, and people loved to exploit them he noticed.  It was sad.  Pathetic.  Frustrating.

Domarus was showing no mercy, every strike and parry was meant to create an opening and/or devastate her body in one way or another.  He'd rip her body to shreds until she couldn't physically move around anymore and would be subjugated to his blows.  He wouldn't end until she not only declared him the stronger one, but declared her allegiance to him.  He didn't care about whatever plans she had.  He didn't care about what Keres thought.  All he knew was this woman had poked the hornets nest.  And now she was going to regret it.  The only thing that would make this better is if he could turn her d**n pain receptors off.

Embers combat style was that taught to her, by her father, and by the blood. It was para-military in nature, mixed in with raw brutality. The headbutt hadn’t worked, but in a world where pain was a phantom of its former self, why would it? It pissed Embers off, that she couldn’t hear Domarus in pain when she planned to strike back. She wanted to see what he could do, and she hadn’t been let down. He was quick, brutal and utterly unrelenting. If this was a real fight, Embers would be drunk out of her mind, injured and probably trying to kiss him at the same time. After all, passion was best expressed when out of control.

As the girl landed on the boulder, and Domarus threw himself forwards, the entire world went red and Embers was consumed. Her body, however, moved with lightning speed. It dodged around Domarus entirely, effectively ‘trapping’ him between herself and the boulder he had used as a weapon. The lose of momentum for him became Embers one weapon, and she launched her own assault of punches, elbow swings and kicks. Her strikes were slower than Domarus, lacking the speed but she made up for it that each blow hit like a truck. Each blow, even if deflected, would ripple through his arms. She hit hard, and she could take his blows for now. The look in her eyes said it all, Embers was no longer in control of her body. She was passion, hatred, lust, all coming to life in human form, in battle. The flames had consumed her, body mind and soul.

Domarus had to admit he was surprised she had managed to put him between her and the boulder rather than her between him and the stone.  However when she unleashed her barrage, he began by parrying her blows, noting how powerful they were and how difficult it was to parry them all.  Each blow he could hear soundly on the stone behind him and he had to admit he was pleased to know that this would be an actual fight now.  She had some combat experience built into her, enough to be activated even during a blood rage.  He didn't have time to be patient with this woman, he would need to take every second to lash out and destroy her.  Once he had a good idea of her strength, he reached out and caught her hand, his legs and feet already positioned to absorb the force and send it into the ground.  He thrusted his right hand forward to strike her abdomen then grabbed her left arm and twisted it in a way that would normally force her to her knees in the real world.  Whether she bent or not, he would throw her hand to the side before striking her face with almost double the force she gave him.  An eye for an eye, after all.  He doubted the strike would knock her to the ground, she was strong after all.  But it would at the very least bend her over and he'd use it to kick her in the chest, showing no signs of mercy.

Even as a beast, even within her blood haze, Embers combat was refined. Lost with passion, but her training burnt through and each punch and kick hit with force. Just as she was trained. Hit them hard enough and the pain will be their enemy. It’s how she’d always fought, inflict a worse injury to the enemy and you win. But where Domarus would feel no pain, a rational brain would change the approach. Embers brain, however, was far from rational.

She knew Domarus would try and fight back, but she expected him to use his legs and so she waited for that, not expecting him to be just as direct by stopping her fist. His strike hit her so fast that a normal person wouldn’t react. Embers did, refusing to bend over much, but she still doubled over from the strike right as he went to kick. But that’s when Embers let out a loud laugh and her hands moved, catching the kick despite the pain it inflicted. She looked up, and in those few moments, Embers was grinning madly.

She yanked on Domarus’ leg, given he had one in the air, there was little chance of him being stable. She took a step forwards, aiming to clothes-line him into the stone with a single, hard-hitting strike. It had been her style, hit hard and unrelenting. If Domarus hit the ground from her strike, Embers would stomp on his chest. Unlike some, who might aim to break a limb, Embers wanted him to fight back. She wanted a fight dammit!

His attacks worked partially through but only partially.  When he went for the kick she used it to her advantage and knocked him off balance, then knocked him into the ground.  That had set him off more than anything.  Above all else he hated it when people ruined his plans.  And he never, EVER was put to the ground.  He rolled to the side and leaped to his feet so he was only on the ground for about a second, but it was a second faaaar too long for him.  He rushed at her, switching from a less tactical form of attack to pure instinct and power.  He was still in control and kept his focus in case he needed to strategize if things started going bad, but beyond that he let his hateful nature guide his attacks.  He started by using sheer force to break through any defense she had to grab her by the face, shoulder or shirt and throw her to the ground.  He'd then strike her hard before she'd even hit the ground.  He didn't rush at her like before, refusing to give her an advantage and wanting to savor the destruction he was about to wrought on her.  Domarus and when she attacked him or he reached her he would let out a barrage of attacks meant not only to land a solid hit, but to shatter her limbs.  Shoulders, elbows, wrists.  Neck, spine, knee caps.  He'd break her till there was nothing left.  He didn't care if she landed any punches herself.  Even if he was in the real world he wouldn't feel the blows at this point.

The blow, getting Domarus onto the ground, was her biggest success. She could just smell the pride on him, and she could tell he hated how she was herself, how little control he had when fighting her. Why, she didn’t’ care to know, but she could smell it like a shark in the water. He was blood, food for her. But, pride, had a fight. And Embers was caught off-guard. Too focused on her offense, Domarus managed to slip past her defense and tossed her onto the ground. The blow would have hurt, but Embers couldn’t feel pain, nor through the game and she was beyond it.

However, what she wasn’t beyond was the brutal assault Domarus threw at her. On the ground was the worst place to be, and she knew it. She had to get up on her feet, regardless of what weakness she exposed. On her feet, injured, she could fight. On the ground, she was already dead. Letting out a loud war-cry, the girl lashed out with all 4 limbs at once. Opening herself up to a brutal counter-attack, but she was able to give herself enough time to scramble onto her feet and take up a defensive stance. One that, if Domarus struck out, she’d take him into the dirt.

Panting, and she was certain in the real world, she’d been bleeding, Embers grinned widely, arrogantly at Domarus. The fire in her eyes all clear, burning bright “C-christ. Here I thought you were all bark, dammit, you have a bite to you Dom” The girl licked her lips “I bloody LOVE it”

If Domarus tried to strike her as she spoke, Embers attack would be brutal. A spin and kick, aimed right for his chest and throwing her entire body into it for the follow up. She wasn't trying to bait him, she had no idea what she watned to do to him. A lot, and none of it was pleasant. Beat him until he bled, kiss him until the same happened. Passion and Lust battled inside her as she tightened her fists. Survival of the Fittest, and she knew Domarus was far from done.

The smirk, the laughter, the enjoyment.  It was a nuisance.  He was in power and she would bow to him.  She would fear his wrath now and forever.  Domarus did make an attempt to strike her mid talk, but the left half of his brain expected a counter attack.  Because of this he twisted his body in order to dodge it, then used his hand to alter the direction of her attack, making his evasion successful. After that brief moment of strategy, he returned to full fury, striking her while her foot was in the air, knocking her down again.  This time however he didn't give her time to get up, slamming his foot hard into her abdomen.  After that he bent down over her, his two feet pinning her arms down and preventing her from rolling out of the way.  His left hand grabbed her neck and his right was used to beat down on her face repeatedly.  He then struck her left arm in a way that would either break the joint or dislodge it.  Thankfully for her, the pain receptors were in place.  If she tried using her legs to grapple his head and pull him away, he'd keep his grip and thus she'd roll as well.  He would do everything he could to keep her on the ground within his iron grip and break her.

Embers was finally off that stupid ground, where she could fight! Her kick, if it would have connected, would have kicked right into Domarus’ gut. But blinded by red, the girls targeted dodged and she blinked. The hell?! She wasn’t used to fighting such nimple prey, and her anger bloomed. As did Domarus’ brutality.

Once again, Embers found herself on the ground, but this time, escaping was a lot harder. Unable to guard her face, it took one hell of a beating and in a moment to panic, to protect it, she tried to roll her entire body, regardless of the pain it took. She lashed out trying to kick his face in, while her arms aimed at the inside of his knees to cripple him down to her level. If they were even on thr ground, she knew she could beat the crap of him down here. But when he had leverage over her, it was over.

“Get off me you little crap! Second I get off this ground, I’m gunna beat you black ‘n blue! You’ll taste your own damn blood!” She yelled, even resorting to biting at Domarus’ hand. Using anything to get out of his grip, because even lost in emotion, she knew she was losing! And she hated losing.

Domarus increased the brutality of his strikes when she demanded to let her go.  He then got off and picked her up, slamming her against the cliffside pinning her to it by using his left arm across her torso, and used his right hand to continue beating her up.  If she struck back he wouldn't flinch.  The fire in his eyes would only flare up and he'd land an even stronger blow than before.  If she spoke up again he would speak at last.
     "
THEN BOW!!"  He threw her across the stoney field onto the ground again and walked slowly over.  Confidence, even arrogance emanated off of him so fiercely it was like he truly was on fire as he made his way over.  No mercy in his eyes.

"Either you are strong enough to win, or you bow down and serve me.  Those are your only choices here.  You don't even have the choice as to whether you live or die.  Do  you understand yet Embers?  You never had a choice from the start.  I owned you the moment we met."  Keres' eyes widened when she saw this.  Domarus either trusted her greatly to be sharing this at last, or there was something else going on.  At any rate she hadn't seen him like this in...  Well ever.  It was the first time she saw him go all out like this...  And she LOOOOOVEED it!!!  Domarus walked over to her and broke through any defenses she had with sheer force, grabbing her by the neck and lifting her up.

"Survival of the fittest Embers."

Embers dragged herself onto her feet. Bow eh? Was that was this was all about? She would have started to laugh, purely for how amusing it was to her. Even if they were talking, she entered a stance with her arms up prepared to fight. The smirk on her face, the look in her eyes, said it all. She had a similar look for Keres, if Domarus cared to notice. Admiration, lust. All of it piled on top of on another within the forest fire of crimson.

Even held by her neck, with Embers arms on his, the girls grin never even faltered “Survival eh? W-well…Dom” She looked at him carefully, despite the passion burning through her. She Could try and kick him, but she had no reason to. Unlike him, her fight had never been about dominance. It was to show her a reason to respect him.

“This is all I wanted to see, your fire finally erupting from you!” She wouldn’t bother telling him he didn’t own her, after all, he was welcome to his own delusions. She didn’t believe it was possible, for her to be owned, for her to be controlled in any aspect of her life.

“God…That fire…Dammit its hot” Unable to stop herself, despite her situation, she threw herself forwards. But not to attack Domarus, her arms gripped his shoulders and she forced her lips up against his, kissing him hard. A kiss powered by passion, lust and raw emotion over anything logical.

For the first time ever in her life, Keres' jaw dropped out of sheer shock and surprise.  Rhozarth raised it's eyebrows and Porvós...  Well the serpent just looked at the situation curiously as he always had.  Domarus however was the most surprised at what had just happened.  He knew she was looking for him to be strong.  He knew she didn't intend to kill or dominate him.  However this was one thing he hadn't planned for.  In fact he never planned for something as bizarre as this.  The woman kissed him.  Even as he held her neck she pulled them closer and kissed him.  Domarus had never felt love.  Or rather, never felt it in it's purest form.  He never felt lust as such pleasures to him were a distraction and a waste of time when he could be working towards his end goal.  Never once had he thought about anything revolving those two unless it was to manipulate another for his goals.  Yet here Embers was kissing him, though whether it was love or just the heat of the moment was yet to come.  At any rate he would kiss back but only momentarily.  Despite his ruthlessness this action had caught him off guard.  He put her down and whenever she decided to break the kiss he'd take a step or two back and she would easily see him thinking hard about the scenario.  It would be obvious that this was possibly the one outcome he did not at all expect.  In fact he really wasn't sure where to go from here, especially since she was random.  For all he knew anything he said could set her off again.....  Domarus grinned and started to chuckle.

"Well I've got to admit, that was the last thing I expected to happen."

Lost in the whirlwind of herself, Embers kissed Domarus as if nothing else existed. Purely because in her mind, nothing else did. It was just her, her emotions and him. Her fingers latched onto him, and pushed it to last a short time before she was released. The girls breathing was a heavy pant, more from the fighting than anything else, but her blood was burning inside of her skin. She loved the feeling.

At his line, Embers laughed loudly. The smirk never left her face, and her eyes, despite it all, started to calm down. Her fire slowly burning itself out as they were no longer scraping it out. “Hah! Well, get used to it Dom. You build me up like that, I ain’t gunna be accountable for what I do”. Despite the blood burning, she forced herself to sit down. Mostly because her crimson eyes had zeroed in on Keres, for two separate reasons.

“Jesus though, that was…amazing. I haven’t had a blood rush like that in ages! I was just, urgh that was bloody amazing”

The girl closed her eyes and let herself just come down from her blood rush, much like coming from from a drug. While all this happened, a certain avian had its eyes on the pair from a distance. This bird was a White-Tailed Hawk, and watched the group from its nest up on one of the mountain tops.

Domarus laughed, still a bit unleashed from his moment of fury back there.  Hearing Embers mention how getting her wound up would make her completely unpredictable?  Please he thought to himself.  She was unpredictable from the start.  She may not realize it, but Domarus was already trying to cover thousands of different scenarios in his head that one single kiss had forced on him.  Just about every one of them was impossible, unlikely at the least, but he was a man who prepared for everything...  Though this moment proved he couldn't be ready for literally everything.

"Oh I understand that perfectly Embers.  However I do intend to learn how to direct your blood lust battle fury during battle so as to strike the enemy and not your allies.  From what I can tell that won't be too difficult in a boss raid, but it would be an issue if we fought against players.  Either way, I have no doubt that you'll be perfect as one of my generals."  Keres dropped out of her trance and lifted her jaw back up.

"So wait, we're going to tell her everything now?"  Domarus chuckled and nodded to Keres.

"I don't think she'd appreciate being left in the dark any longer now, would you, Embers Hellstorm?"

Embers raised an eyebrow at Domarus, the hell was he talking about? Her enemies? Who were they, other than idiots who told her what do to and npcs? More important, what the actual hell was ‘One of his Generals’? Embers didn’t understand what the hell Domarus was talking about, but from his words, and Keres reaction, something was going on behind the scenes.

“General, enemies?” The girl took a threatening step forwards, before frowning. Embers Hellstorm. Was that, her title? God she hated titles, but this one. She liked. It made her sound more than human, like a force of nature, which is what she knew she was. A force of nature to be feared. “Alright Dom, spill the beans” She ordered, crossing her arms as her blood rush slowly faded away “And spill it all, I’ll be pissed if you keep anything from me” She wanted to know it all, partly because she was curious what the hell they were actually talking about in the first place.

Domarus grinned, his calm nature back once again as he held the floor.  However...  Despite his calm nature, the fire in his eyes was more fierce and passionate than ever.

"I don't care about anyone.  The weak can die for all I care.  Those who get in my way will pay the price.  I keep a facade up to build a positive reputation.  With it I have power over the population and over political power.  So long as my reputation remains intact I'm invincible through any means other than deception and assassination.  And even in this world assassination is something I don't need to be concerned with greatly.  My goals are to obtain power in all it's forms.  Everyone I meet becomes my puppets, stringed to do my bidding whether they realize it or not.  Through levels and skills my physical power will be known one day.  Through numbers in the guild I'll have an army that no one can break through.  Your goals in life are small compared to my own.  You seek pleasure through battle and violence?  I seek domination over the entire world.  Before this stupid game I had a plan set in motion.  I had every phase prepared and ready.  Even in this world they still await my return.  Of course I still don't plan on playing second, I will conquer this world as well.  However plans like this take time, and strength in numbers as well as raw power.  That is why I seek four generals to fight along side me who are willing to see those goals realized.  Who are loyal enough to not be foolish enough to turn their backs on me.  I refuse to choose the weak.  I refuse to select those who don't deserve my glance.  I seek only the strong and powerful."  He grinned evilly, the cruel grin showing just how serious he was about this.  And if she had any brains she'd know he could do it.  He had fooled her for the longest time after all.

"Laugh if you want it changes nothing.  At this point you've joined me.  You are a part of the guild and I can't let you just walk away now that you know my secret can I?"

Embers stood and listened to Domarus, well, sorta lose his god damned mind. Control, and to his declared scale? If she was honest, it sounded like the ravings of a mad man long since gone. And yet, despite that, she was willing to entertain the idea. Purely because, while hindsight was perfect, some of what he had done made sense.

He had mentioned, times before, about being there for others. That she shouldn’t count out the larger population, something she personally didn’t care for. However, it seemed to be something he cared for. The approval of the public masses, the filthy who dared tell her what to do with her life. People she couldn’t care less for. He hunted for their approval.

All of it was fine, minus the end, that’s where Embers growl emerged from her. A threat against her. “So what, I’m one of those four generals eh?” It was a simple question, and one that confused her. Why the hell did he trust her? She could betray him at any point, could leave him, could try and turn against him.

“Seems sorta stupid no? Your generals should fear you, to ensure they stay loyal to the cause” Embers slowly walked forwards “I don’t fear you Dom, and I aint’ scared of death” She smirked. She had joined, not for his cause, but because she had respect for him as a leader. Nothing more, nothing less. “Although, that being said. You’re one of the few that can burn, and that to me, means more than whatever little scheme you’re plotting. So you plot away Dom, I’ll be there” She snorted “As long as you don’t lose my respect, I’ll follow…”

He probably didn't have the effect he wanted to, but that was mainly because he summarized much of it for her, as he expected she wouldn't want to hear the full details.  She may not have realized this, but he was putting a massive amount of risk, effort, and investing into Embers and to be quite honest he wasn't entirely sure why.  It was a lot of effort he was putting into this, and there were others he could manipulate and control to such an extent that their loyalty would equal their strength.  Perhaps it was the fact that she was naturally strong, and this kind of strength couldn't be forged to perfection.  At any rate he saw her expression change, hearing a growl from her at one point.  Domarus smiled as he heard her mention that generals should fear him in that instance, and how she didn't fear her nor did she fear death.  However since he was different than the rest and was actually similar to her when it came to a fiery spirit, that meant more to her than his plans.

"I never expected you specifically to fear me Embers, it's clear you fear nothing.  But you can imagine why I'd want someone like you on my side.  Not only are you stronger in spirit and force than just about everyone I have met, we share the same mindset when it comes to the weak.  If I had no need of them I would much rather toss them aside but for the end goal I will keep them under my control..  For the time being."  And that was that.  There didn't seem to be anything else to discuss on the matter.
