After looking at the floor and recovering his senses, he realizes he's in the middle of a battle. Darkwood brings his sword in for an uppercut at the monster's collarbone. The demon continues to stare in awe at this puny creature.

The blow lands perfectly, cleaving the left arm off the demon. It screeches and howls, putting its left arm on it's right stump. Darkwood smiles menacingly and takes another step forward.

Darkwood takes another slice at the demon, aiming to sever its abdomen from its thorax. The demon screeches and goes for a headbutt, tongues lashing in all directions.

A tongue lashes the sword from Darkwood's hands, but he predicts the headbutt and rolls backwards. "I was beginning to like that sword." he comments.

Darkwood jumps away, drawing his staff from its holder on his back. He spins it round one hand and bring it in for an overhead clonk to the demon's head. The demon moves to sidestep, bringing its arm round to swing.

The demon sidesteps, the staff hits the floor and its momentum carries Darkwood forwards, away from the arm that is flying in his direction. He rolls and moves to his feet.

Once he got to his feet, Darkwood stepped and brought the staff in a roundhouse swing, towards the monster's exposed back. The monster goes to turn.

The monster turns with surprising speed and knocks him backwards with some force. The man turns and tumbles backwards, injuring his leg.

Darkwood struggles to his feet and gives a jump forwards, swinging the staff in one hand and aims to whip the tip of the staff into the belly of the beast.

Darkwood misses (again..) due to fatigue and goes swiftly for a backhand stroke of the staff to the head of the demon. The demon turns to look directly at Darkwood.

A backhand strike with the tip of the staff intended to open a gash in the head of the demon. The monster has turned, staring directly at the man.

The blow lands, opening a small gash but causing the beast to topple over backwards under the force. Darkwood goes for a run-up to deliver another blow.

After the run-up Darkwood jumps up, bringing the staff down like a spear to the heart of the monster. The monster makes to get up, putting its hands behind him on the ground.

The blow pierces the enemy's chest nicely, embedding a few centimeters into the thorax. Darkwood lands on the chest, forcing the monster to the ground. He swirls his staff overhead and brings it to hit the beast in the neck.

The staff makes its way to the creature's neck with power, coming in at an arc from top-right to bottom-left as the monster brings its hand up to swat the annoyance off its chest.

The staff contacts the demon, hitting home and causing its head to literally spin on the neck. This disorients the beast to much it forgets all about its jockey.

The man continues his relentless attack, aiming this time to take off the beasts other arm and render it helpless. The beast's head continues to spin and the thing releases a hiss of discontent.

The staff does not have satisfactory power to cause any noticeable damage to the monster, who's head stops spinning and moves to get up and force the man off.

Darkwood takes a second to gather his strength and moves to attack the chest of the monster by plunging the staff downwards. The monster is at about a 20 degree angle by now and is about to unbalance Darkwood.

The demon moves too quickly for the staff to travel, he falls backwards heavily onto his back. The demon quickly stands and prepares to stomp on the man.

Darkwood still has a hold of his staff and quickly brings it up in a sharp, stabbing motion. The tip of the staff darting towards the lower parts of the demon. The demon brings down its foot slowly, as if to want to feel the alchemist crush beneath his foot.

The staff strikes and contacts the nether regions of the demon, causing it to fall back in agony and annoyance. Darkwood hastily takes advantage of the moment and scrambles up.

Scrambling up and using the staff to help Darkwood lurches towards his foe. He brings the staff down upon his writhing enemy with his good arm. The demon rolls around, unable to do anything under the sheer agony.

The staff stops at the last second because Darkwood sees the pain the monster is in and actually feels sorry and sympathetic to the thing, even though he shouldn't.

Darkwood gets a hold of himself, bringing the staff back down for another shot, determined to put the creature out of its misery before its suffering became too prolonged.

Due to Darkwood's kind nature the staff lands true and on target, causing massive damage and causing the creature to roar and buckle in pain.

Darkwood moves around the demon, to just beside its head, it lay badly hurt and in pain. He decided to finish it off as quick as possible and went for the side of the head with all his force.

The blow lands and the demon becomes enraged, even though it is bleeding shards from its head, it goes to stand up. Darkwood takes a step back and then two steps forwards, undeterred.

The staff comes in once again towards the back of the rising demon. The demon turns its head to look at the pest that has been all too successful at damaging it.

The staff cracks the demon on the back, causing a sound of breaking bones in the upper back of the beast. The beast screams in absolute loathing and turns, millions of eyes boring into the eyes of the robe-clad man.

Darkwood steps forwards and jumps. He raises the staff overhead like a spear and goes to stab the thing in the middle of its head. The beast's eyes stare directly at the warrior. It opens the remaining few mouths it has after its beating.

The tongues strike the man in midair, causing him to spin wildly in midair. He cries out in pain as he is lacerated by the green whips. He spins to angle back down towards the monster despite the pain.

The alchemist points himself towards the devil. He uses gravity once again to propel himself with force to the demon. The devil is retracting its tongues and its vision is blocked by them for the time.

It was silly for him to attempt this move when he has no sword skills. He missed and drove himself into the ground, dirt filling his mouth. "Pthh." he spat it out. The beast now has its vision clear and sees the helpless man in the filth.

Darkwood pushed himself up and lifted his staff from where it lay. He sighted the enemy, took a breath and lunged, jumping. The fiend also struck. He brought his leg up in a vicious kick.

The staff contacted the shin of the demon, stopping it from lifting the leg into a kicking position. The staff embedded itself into the leg. The demon roared and brought its remaining arm down in a slap.

Darkwood jumped, bringing his leg down in a crescent moon kick to drive the staff in like a chisel. The demon's hand drew closer, threatening to bat him away,

The hand easily intercepted the man, for the crescent moon kick was a complex technique and Darkwood had not yet completed the Martial Arts quest. The man rolled as he hit the ground in a breakfall, quickly rising to his feet.

Suddenly Darkwood realised he was weaponless, unable to use Martial Arts and there was no way he could get back to the staff-chisel. He frantically looked around and saw his sword embedded in a tree. He ran over and swiftly pulled it out. He turned and was given a face full of charging demon.
