Quickly!! Now is my chance!!

Nora quickly search her backpack for the pet food that she got from the gypsy NPC. In her enticement, her nervousness gets a hold of her and she drops the pet food down on the ground. She quickly looks up at the tree, the large eagle was still there, and she doesn't know how she was able to tell, but she swears that she thought the eagle looks down at her all displeased. Apparently not impressed with her effort. Nora quickly picks up the pet food from the ground and holds in her palm before calling out to the eagle. "Hi there! Do you want some food?" The eagle did not answer her and was not looking at her. Clearly, it was no longer impressed with her, so much so that it was not even paying attention to the pet food that she was holding.

God Damn IT!!! I am making such a fool of myself! Of course!! If this is a battle type combat focus familiar, it is going to want someone cool as hell to be its master and what the hell am I doing here, dropping pet food onto the ground. Quickly!! Do something cool, catch its attention before it tries to fly away. You will never be able to find it again if it flies away now! Think Nora!! Think of something cool to say! "Hm...this food is very delicious, all of the other pets all have nothing but good words to say for this food...are you sure that you don't want some? It is free and it is all for you! Very yummy stuff, please...just come down here and take a bite, I promise you that you won't regret it! This really is good and delicious and healthy for you..." WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING THAT A BIRD?!?!?!

The eagle did not look interested.

Oh my god!! I can't believe that I failed twice in a roll and only has two more tries before this bird frikking flies away. Will I ever be able to find a familiar? This is so hard..harder than what I have thought initially and definitely harder than those two wolf fights combined! (it is not but it feels this way, because of the uncontrollable luck factor involved.) Nora took a deep breath and looks up at the tree branch. The eagle is still there for now, but she swears that it now looks like it was going to laugh at her pathetic attempts at getting it to eat her food. Maybe the NPC gives her the wrong type of food? There has to be a mistake made somewhere on this quest, why else was the eagle not coming down to eat? She tries to look at the food more closely to see if its spoiled or something. The eagle flaps its wings.

Calm down Nora!! You still have one more attempts left. She lifts her palm higher towards the tree and tries again. "Please....you don't know if it is good or bad until you try some. The gypsy lady at the Town back on first floor promised me that this is like...the best food ever out there. Just give it a try and you will love it?"

But before she could even finish her sentence, the eagle lets out a sharp cry and flaps its wings. Clearly no longer interested in her anymore, it flies upward soaring through the sky and disappeared into the other side of the mountain cliff.

.....

Nora stood there all frozen up, she felt rejected and failed in her mission and her life in general. Never knew that getting rejected from an AI bird from a game could hurt this much. She wonders what she did wrong, she bring the food like the NPC has asked so why didn't it work?

Nora stood there in shock at what have just happened. She tries to think of what to do, before realizing that she was going to lost sight of that eagle! She quickly runs after the eagle towards the location where she saw it was heading to. While she was running through the valley, she thought about what happened. The eagle has a better view on what happens down below and it knows that she was there and yet it chooses to land on a tree near her. There must have been something that attracts it to land..but what...? She thought about what happened before before it hits her! She was fighting two wolves before! IT is a battle familiar, it must have been attracted down to see the fight. Once she figures that out, she quickly charges towards the nearest wolf and attacks it with her sword art. The wolf was unprepared for her and did not fight back.

This trick will only work once! Nora silently reminds herself and quickly follows up with yet another Han'ei, this time, she found her footing and was able to land a critical hit against the wolf. The wolf, in its shocking stage, tries to counter attack against Nora too, but it was off balanced and its attack missed Nora by just the tiniest bit. If Nora has given it more time to readjust itself, it would maybe have been able to land a hit. Nora took in a breath and let out a grin, this will be easier than the wolf number two. The bleed affect will help her chip down this wolf's health point much easier than she could do herself at her current level. She reminds herself that she needs to level up fast if she wants to call herself a dps. No wonder the eagle didn't want to be with her...

The battle tide of the battle looks like it was turning in her favour. That last critical hit really helped her out and this will make ending this battle that much faster...! But now it is not the time to underestimate her opponent, she can never do that, not unless she wants to get killed out here. Somehow, fighting these wolves are giving her more courage. Fighting alone and in actual danger gives her the encouarge to face the challenge up ahead. She hopes that the strange eagle sees this up in the sky and decides to drops down again! Nora took a deep breath and perform Han'ei on the wolf again. The wolf tries to counter attack against her but Nora manage to dodge away at the very last second. The previous bleed effect helps her at chipping away at its health bar.

Nora knows that this will be the last time that bleed can help her and she needs to make this count. The katana suzaku is really helping her out and holding out in battle. Not only does the accuracy enhancement means that she does not miss a hit, but the bleed effect has been super usefully when it procs. But now it is time to follow up on the previous attack, Nora carefully avoided the wolf's charge by stepping to the side. When the wolf charges past her, she turns on her heels and follows up with yet another critical hit against the wolf. But it looks like the wolf does not have enough health bar left to withstand yet another bleed, it will dead the next time it moves no matter what Nora does. The victory is in sight and Nora can't help but grin at that thought, the bleed with off its last bit of health bar.

Nora's last attack finish off the wolf, but at its very last moment, it looks like it wants to attack her and might even be able to land a hit at its last moments, but that was neither here nor there. The wolf disappears into the air, and Nora quickly went up to where it last stands in order to check for the loot. It looks like at the very least she was getting cols. But all of the these unidentified items will be a bit troublesome to get rid off, since last time she checked James' shop was closed...she wonders what to do with them. But even if she was getting some stuff from the kill, all of these monster hunt isn't really what she was after. She was looking to find a familiar, but it has flied away from her and she has no idea where it could have went, quickly, Nora picks up her loot and look around for that eagle.

Now that the combat was done and over with. Nora checks the sky and it looks like it might get dark soon. She knows that birds are usally unable to see in the dark so they don't come out at night time, with a few exceptions, so she knows her time is running out. There is no more time to be wasted here fighting wolves, she needs to find her eagle soon and fast too. Nora looks around, trying to identify the location where the eagle was heading towards to, but she can no longer recall the exact location, since she moves around a lot while she fought the last wolf. Instead, Nora tries to look at the ground for clue, using this time to search for material along the way, but it seems very helpless and hopeless, she has no idea where that eagle went.

She found some rare flower while she was looking at the cliff and the air and the tree in order to search for the eagle, although the extra material is nice and will be helpful for her crafting career, she still couldn't find her eagle. She was feeling really discouraged at everything and wonders if this was meant to be, maybe she just isn't meant to have a familiar? Nora slaps herself across her face and told herself to wake up and be stronger, she needs to cheers up and not give up and search for the eagle some more.

I just need a track, a hint, a clue, something so that I know where it went, and then I will be able to find it. But then what...? She found the eagle last time, but the eagle got away from her, she was not interested in her pet food, so what makes any difference this time?

She felt tire from everything all of the sudden and almost lost her spirit to search for this eagle again. She looks down and towards the lake, everything was peacefully, there's no sound of the wild life nearby except for the sound of the lake and the wind. She looks up at the sky, trying to find a sign of the large bird, but she couldn't find anything at all. At this point, while she was fighting the third wolf, she has completely lost sight of the eagle and she felt discouraged and just wanted to go home. She turns on her heel and was on her back to town when she finds a rare little flower by the road side. The pretty little thing bought a smile to her face and she carefully picks it up from the ground and placing it back into the backpack. At least she did not return empty handed.

On her way back towards the town it was the first time that she got the chance to enjoy exactly how nice everything look from here. She knows that there are beautiful looking places on the first floor, but she didn't know that the second floor could be so enjoyable as well. She walks along the lake, enjoying her nice little hike along the lake in this wild region. There's no wild monsters nearby so she felt safe here, at least, not in any sort of immediately danger. The senecry surrounding her lifted up her mood just for the tiniest bit and she hums a little song. Which reminds her that she once was a singer before changing profession to something else entirely, she wonders where life would lead her next. On her way back, she picks up yet another little flower from the ground, that was when she heard a cry from large bird.

Nora's eyes widen and she immediately turns around, looking frantically everywhere trying to locate the source of where the sound was coming from. She couldn't see it! The sound of the call seems to be bouncing off the walls of the valley, landing echos everywhere, making locating the source of the sound that much harder. Her heart beats fast, trying to find the large bird of prey, she can't be imagine things can she? She really did hear the cry and it wasn't just her imagination? That was when a large shadow flies over her head, casting a dark cloud over her body. Nora looks up and finally seeing the eagle soaring over in the sky. From this distance, she can't tell if this was the same eagle or a different one, they all look kind of smiliar to her, but nevertheless, she got out her pet food again, going to try this again.

As the eagle flies up above in the air. Nora reaches out her hand with the pet food in her palm, holding it outstretched away from her body, trying to reach for the eagle in the sky. She calls out to it. "I'm sorry, I know I dropped your food the last time, but this food is new and it is delicious!! Please come down here and try some, this is all for you, I think you will really like it if you just give it a chance!" Nora calls out to the eagle, she was saying pratically the same thing as last time. She knows that she should try to say something clever and cool and maybe funny too, but at the moment, her mind is blank and she can't find anything to say to the eagle. It was like the last failed attempt reliving itself in her head all over again. But the eagle did come down and landed a few feet from her. She throws the food onto the ground and it took it. After eating the food, the eagle flies upward and landed on her shoulder.

It looks like her journey ends here, with the eagle on her shoulder, she hasn't even thought of a name for it yet, but it looks like she could return back to town again. She pick up whatever left of the pet food and decided to head back into town and return whatever portion that was not used back to the gypsy lady NPC. But as soon as she turns around, a large wolf charges against her. Nora let out a surprised yell and was immediately been bitten on her shoulder. She did not see this wolf here nor did she hear it coming, it must have been the previous wolf's friend here for revenage or something! Nora cruses at her own carelessness and unsheathed her sword, because the wolf was pratically in her face, her slice was at point blank range, she landed her attack sucessfully.

She manages to land an attack at the wolf. But the wolf was not letting her get away from its sight. It chases closely behind Nora, not allowing her any kind of breathing room or to give any more spaces between them. The wolf manages to sink its teeth into Nora's leg, but at the same time, it was suffering damages from the thorn attack on Nora's armor as well. Nora cursed silently and being down her sword on the wolf's neck, the attack pierce through the wolf's body, leaving a digital mark along the way. At this point, both Nora and the wolf has entered into orange health bar despite the fact the fact that they have just entered into combat and hasn't even been fighting for that long. Nora was secretly shocked at how much damage this one wolf was able to dealt to her.

Nora cursed again and picks up the wolf by the back of its far and swing it away from her with as much force as she could have possibly mustered. At the same time she tries to swing her sword against the wolf, attempting to attack it in mid air. The wolf groans at her and tries to bite her in the arm again.. But because of the swinging action in motion currently, neither the player nor the beast manage to connect their attack on each other. They both missed each other and forced to stop for a bit to regain their balance. The wolf landed by the lake bed not far away from Nora, and the eagle on Nora's shoulder has taken flight at this time and was circling around in the sky, crying in a strange noise. Nora thinks she understands it. There will be more wolf coming this way, she needs to finish this fast and run for it...

Oh my god!! Did we both missed our attack?! Well, sure she didn't land any attack or dealt any damage for the last turn but she also didn't lose any health point and that is a plus in her mind. She sighs and ready her sword for attack once again. She knows that her time is running short and nightfall is fastly approaching. She does not want to be left in the wild when it is night time and least of all, she didn't want to be left in the wild when it is night time on the second floor of all places. She has to act fast and finish this fight. With one swing, she charges forward, bring her sword across the wolf's body, landing a hit. But when she was so focusing on attacking, the wolf manages to twist its head around and bites down hard on her hand, it did not even flinch on the thorn.

The both know at this very same moment that this is it, this was the final battle. With the two of them so close in proximiately to each other there is literally no room for dodging attacks. The attack on both side will land and it is only the matter of who finishes who off first, both of the their health bar are now in the deep red. Nora was faster on her attack, she twisted her hand free from the wolf, letting her digital blood drop onto the ground and with an angry cry, she stabbed the wolf in its eyes. Finishing it off with one blow, the wolf did not have the chance to counter attack. But from the way it looked at its very last moment, only anger and hatred in its eyes and no fear at all, she thinks that it might have landed a critical hit on her if given the chance. Now the fight is over, she can finally look at her wound. One wolf, that's all it took to bring her health bar from full health, all the way down to less than 100. This is how low level she is now.
