"Noctua, how do you feel about being my better half?" Yes, there were words that came before that question, but that was the only thing that seemed to stick in her mind for the moment. This obviously meant that he felt the same about her. Thank god, that was a weight lifted from her chest, she could swear that she was actually able to breath better at the moment. Or maybe that was the hyperventilating breaths finally normalizing back out. Yes, it was probably the later of the two to be honest. Wait, right, he needed an answer. She managed a small nod just moments before she finally found her voice again.

"Yes, but are you certain that you aren't my better half?" If that was cheesy or corny or whatever people wanted to call it, she honestly wouldn't know. Let's be real here, Koga was the one who did better in nearly every aspect, so yeah, she was going to think of him as her better half. Who the heck wouldn't? Is it bad that she wanted to lean on him at the moment? Possibly since they still weren't back from doing the quest. So instead, she settled for holding his hand a little tighter than she had been moment before. "I, um, thank you?" Was she supposed to thank him for wanting to be with her? This poor poor child.

"Yes, but are you certain that you aren't my better half?"

Koga smiled at her words, chuckling quietly at her question. "My lame ass? Ha, I wish." Koga said as he started walking the path again, interlacing their fingers together.

"I, um, thank you?"

"Hold that thought a second..." Koga said, lifting a single finger as if to ask for silence. The man stopped walking and stood still listening. Yeah...it was there, in the bushes...Koga looked over to where he'd hear the phantom sound and indeed saw three yellow markers obscured by the brush. Koga's uplifted finger pointed in the direction of the markers just as three Boar Pups moved into view.

"Here we go again," Koga said with a smile as he drew his sword. The three Pups noticed the players,  but too late. Koga was already moving in with a glowing sword. Koga used his Han'ei and dispatched the first Pup with little effort.

"My lame ass? Ha, I wish." She wanted to say something, but he was already asking her to be quiet. For a moment she wondered if she had done something wrong, but she saw the yellow markers instead. Okay Noct, stop freaking out like that, it won't get you anywhere. She, very unhappily, let go of Koga's hand so that he was able to grab his sword and so that she could grab her rapier. Stupid boars had the worst timing didn't they. She noticed him smile though as he grabbed his sword and she couldn't help but shake her head. At least these things did minimal damage.

Koga had quickly killed one of the creatures, so now it was her turn. She started to use Rip Ravine when one of the boars decided to charge right into her. It was enough to do very little damage to her, but still made her miss her shot of hitting the boar, by a lot. She backed away from the boar only to have another one charge her and hit her leg. It felt like something was poking her, and she just stared at them, watching out of the corner of her eye as the third boar pup went for Koga, and missed.

Out of the corner of his eye, Koga saw Noctua get hit by a barrage of attacks from the Boar Pups. For moment he worried for her. At least until he noticed that they hardly made a dent in her HP gauge. Right...these things couldn't even do chip damage. Koga eyed the second Pup and began to channel his Han'ei. Then in his periphery, he saw the third charge at him. Koga turned quickly, slashing at the ground, conjuring up a wall of dust between himself and the Pup. The Pup careened through the dust, only to find nothing behind it. Koga was gone, and had re-positioned himself somewhere off to the side of the Boar, his sword art gone. The Boar looked around in bewilderment for a moment, before spotting Koga again. The man readied his katana to defend against another attack, but the Pup backed down, glaring at him with red eyes.

Poor Koga, he missed the boar. She watched the move though and found it to be a smart one though. And other things but those thoughts were gone the moment that she noticed the second boar pup staring her down still. Wow, Koga went to attack it and it still wanted her? What was this? She she returned the stare, her rapier starting to glow violet, before she rushed the boar pup, killing it with her second stab to the shoulder. Another one down, but still no tusk. These things were stingy with dropping their tusks weren't they.

She heard something behind her to see that the third boar pup went after Koga again, and this distraction caused her to get hit by the fourth one again. Okay mister boar pup, you're next. Her health was still in the green with maybe a few inches of the boar empty. She was fine this time around.

Noctua took next to no time at all to kill the second Pup, her blade little more than a flash of purple light followed by a burst of blue fragments created by the death of the Pup. Good thing these things were dropping like flies, because so far they had dropped next to nothing.

Now wasn't the time to worry about that quite yet though, the third Pup launched itself at Koga, but the small creature wasn't very quick, and Koga had time to channel his Han'ei before it even got close. As the Pup leapt through the air, Koga let out a quick succession of two strikes, the creature bursting into another cloud of blue fragments. Alright, only one more...and better yet, it looked like Koga had gotten a Tusk. About damn time. Only four left between the two of them. Hopefully there luck would start improving sooner rather than later.

Koga hit the third boar pup and by the looks of it, managed to get one of the tusks. Awesome. One less for them to have to hunt for. Meanwhile, she was staring at the final boar pup. This cheeky little thing thought that it was invulnerable. Well, joke was on him. Rushing the boar pup, she channeled Rip Ravine and within moments, the two quick slashes from her rapier made it vanish in a cloud of blue. Well, no more boar pups for now, that was golden. Bad news, she didn't get anything that fight. Oh well, there was more boar pups by the looks of how things have been going for them lately.

With the threats gone for now, she sheathed Faithful Night and walked over to Koga. "That seemed to be easy enough still." She smiled lightly before glancing around to be sure that nothing was about to come out of no where and attack them.

The last Pup disappeared in a flash of blue and violet. Koga sheathed his weapon turning to Noctua as she spoke. "That seemed to be easy enough still."

"No kidding. They have almost no health. How many Tusks do you have now? I finally got one," Koga said walking up to her. "Good job, hun," the black-clad man gave the woman a quick kiss on the head. "And we'll have to do it again...oh boy, what joy. I can't wait."

Well it didn't look like anything was going to attack them, they had time to rest a second before they went hunting more for more Pups. They may die easy, but they were stingy in dropping those damned Tusks. Koga was starting to wonder if they would ever finish this quest. They'd killed, what, eight of these! And they still only had two of them...this was gonna take a while...

She chuckled lightly as she looked at her inventory, yup, still just the one. "Still just the one from before." For something so easy they sure didn't like to dro- Her thoughts stopped for a moment as Koga kissed her on the head. No, she was not used to this what so ever. So much so, she blushed lightly. "T-thank you, h-hun." Oh this poor child, so unsure of what she was supposed to say. "And we'll have to do it again...oh boy, what joy. I can't wait." She was grateful for the minor subject change. She smiled though and she looked at him, "Is that sarcasm I hear?" A small chuckled came from her then as she looked around for a moment. There seemed to be nothing around them. Had they scared off what boar pups might have been left in the area? She didn't care if they had, she wanted the darned items from this quest and she was going to get them, just hopefully before nightfall.

"T-thank you, h-hun," Noctua stuttered, clearly uncomfortable.

"Ya know we can like...slow down if you're not comfortable with everything, you know?" the black-clad man said to her, gently rubbing her arm, attempting to comfort her. He really didn't wanna push her. Regardless of how either of them felt, if she wasn't ready for a relationship or something of that sort, then he wasn't about to push the matter. It wouldn't be right. Besides, he was willing to wait for her.

"Is that sarcasm I hear?" Noctua said with a quiet  giggle. "Me? Sarcastic? Pssh. Nooooo, never!" Koga replied, clearly very sarcastic.

"Kinda surprised a bunch more Pups have come out. I wonder where they all went," the man said, voicing Noctua's own thoughts, "Guess we should start hunting again, huh?" It was really less a question, and more a highly desired suggestion...there was nothing more that Koga wanted at the moment than to be done with this quest. Killing mobs was all well and good, but not getting the drops was seriously annoying.

She shook her head quickly, "I'm not uncomfortable...I just..." From there the words were kind of mumbled but still clear in saying 'just don't know what to do or say'. She felt him rubbing her arm though, and it helped her calm down. If he was doing that, then obviously he wasn't about to just up and leave her, right? She sighed lightly, but smiled just moments afterwards. At least it was a comforting touch. She just hoped that she hadn't just said anything wrong to make him change his mind, because then, well, she didn't know.

She giggled still though when he threw out more sarcasm. Soon enough though, she looked around. There had to be something around here. These things were supposed to be everywhere with a short spawn time right? Soon enough, she saw four new markers spawn in the distance and she pointed. "There." Not much hunting was needed thankfully, but she still pulled her rapier out and started to channel Rip Ravine. She was going to kill these things and get the quest item, she had to. This quest was just as boring as the first. Well, except for the company of course.

But right now, she was focused on the first boar as she hit it twice with her sword art. The second stab made the boar disappear into a cloud of fragments, and she got a notice that she received a quest item. Awesome, one more for her, two more for Koga. She focused her attention on the final three that were there though, hopefully, they dropped what the pair needed.

Noctua shook her head quickly before speaking. "I'm not uncomfortable...I just..." She began to mumble quickly, but Koga was able to discern a "just don't know what to do or say."

"Don't worry about it too much," the man said with a quiet chuckle, "You don't have to say or do anything. Just be yourself. Its why I like you anyways."

Before the conversation could go any further however, the woman spotted something off in the not so far distance, "There." Indeed, Koga could make out four little enemy markers. Noctua pulled out her rapier and charged the beasts, with Koga close behind. The pair each channeled their sword arts, a display of violet and crimson. Koga struck the second Pup with a quick Han'ei, and the beast burst into a cloud of light. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw another twin cloud, indicating Noctua had also landed her blow.

But there were still two left, and the remainder were not happy. The third Pup charged at Koga to no avail, the man simply stepping to the side to avoid the small creature. Noctua, however, was not as lucky...

"You don't have to say or do anything. Just be yourself. Its why I like you anyways." Oh thank god, that was a blessing and actually took an unknown weight off her chest. She smiled, and vowed to herself that she would finish that conversation after these boar pups were dead and gone. Hopefully dropping the last of what they needed with them. She put her head back into the fight though and she watched as Koga killed a boar pup as well. Good, that leaves just two of these stingy things behind. Hopefully, each one drops a tusk and they can call this quest done. But, just as she was setting her sights on the third boar, the fourth came for the charging attack. She didn't catch it in time, so the pup managed to head butt her in the leg. Ow, that so hurt. Yes, she was even sarcastic in her thoughts. But that pup, even though it hit her, wasn't the target that she was focused on. Instead, she decided that she needed to move away from it so that Koga could murder it in turn. So, she channeled Rip Ravine and went right for the third pup that missed Koga with it's attack, only her attack didn't miss. Two quick stabs and the pup was one, but it took both of it's tusks with it, stingy butt.

Now that the first two Pups were dead, the rest of the fight went fairly quickly. Noctua was struck in the leg...if you could even call it a hit. The woman hardly even looked at the Pup before charging up her sword art and making short work of the other creature.

Now it was Koga's turn. The man looked at the Pup that had attacked Noctua and practically walked up to the beast, his katana beginning to glow crimson. With two quick slashed, that Pup also burst into a cloud of blue fragments.

But now for the million dollar question...did Koga get the Tusk he needed?...Nope...wow these things really did not want to make life easy for the man. Koga let out a sigh, "I didn't get the third one, what about you?" Koga asked his partner as he sheathed his weapon with a quiet click. This was just flat out annoying now.

No more boar pups for now. Koga easily finished off the one that tried to hurt her. Really, it felt like a pin prick at this point. Sheathed her rapier, she looked at Koga and shook her head. "Nope, still need one more. They really don't want us to have them do they?" She walked over to him and smiled for a moment before she remembered the promise that she made herself about finishing a certain conversation. "So, I just have to stay as myself? This means you like the part where I don't talk to others then?" She laughed lightly, of course, how confident it might have sounded is something up for a debate. She didn't actually know if he liked the part where her social anxiety kicked in, or if she even told him why it was there. Maybe that was a topic for a different day, not on one where good things have happened.

Koga let out a groan, "No, no they do not..." Well, time to go hunting again. For something that was supposed to have a 50% drop rate...it was really much lower than that....or at least that's what it felt like. "Guess we gotta do it all again, huh?" At this point the Pups were just a nuisance. They did almost no damage and died in one hit. What curse had been bestowed upon these two players that it took this long to find the stupid Tusks?

"So, I just have to stay as myself? This means you like the part where I don't talk to others then?"
"Well, if you talk to others, they might fall in love with you and try to steal your heart away from me. I can't let that happen," Koga said with a little bit of a laugh. Of course, he did want Noctua to get through her anxiety for her own sake. She was a good person, she didn't really have anything to be afraid of, at least, not that Koga could really imagine.

"Guess we gotta do it all again, huh?" She nodded lightly, "At least they die fast enough and don't harm. I don't know about you, but I don't feel like that close call from before." Nope, she didn't feel like watching or reliving that again, especially not now. Still though, these darned pups were plentiful it seemed, and that was probably why they were so darned stubborn on dropping their tusks. And she thought that she could be stubborn, geez. Either way, they were stuck hunting down more of them.

"Well, if you talk to others, they might fall in love with you and try to steal your heart away from me. I can't let that happen." She looked at him and tried to figure out if he was joking or serious. Of course, knowing him, it was probably a mixture of both. Either way, it made her smile. "I highly doubt anyone would want to even attempt to get to know me well enough for that one, so I think you are safe there." She thought for a moment and shook her head, "Nope, not even Yukiro will get that close, and he is the only other person I feel safe talking to." Of course, she also hadn't told the whole story about how she and Yukiro met, that was an interesting one.

"Not into near death experiences? Where's your sense of danger?" Koga said in a joking tone. Although to be completely honest, Koga was not looking to reenact aforementioned near death experience. He'd had plenty, in game and in real life...half from being stupid and half from situations beyond his control. Yeah, he wasn't exactly looking to have another date with death.

I mean, i can safely say that I finally got you to myself..." Don't go and die on her Koga, at this point, she might just go and disappear from everything. Okay, enough of that topic. Bad topic. Evil topic. Brain switch from dark and go back to being happy that you are even with someone who you like and he likes you in return. That is the safest thoughts for you. There were the happy thoughts.

"Speaking of Yuki, I know you guys said you, quite literally, ran into each other but like...what happened? You two seemed fairly comfortable for people who had just 'ran into each other'." Oh right, he wasn't told the whole story, was he. Oops. "Well, I had gone to go and try to kill something without you, as you know. Changed my mind, ran into him, literally. I think that bruised my butt for maybe a week." Pause, breath, don't talk too fast or too much. Breathing is good. "So he agreed to help me kill some boars. Took me to this hill, two boars showed up, he laid down to take a nap. Mind you, still level one with a cursed rapier. Missed the first time. Got mad at him seeing him sleeping, took that anger out on the boar instead of him. He got hit, woke up, killed the boars. We talked, he got me back to town safely."

Okay, toward the end of that, she might have started to talk a bit fast, mainly because she forgot to breath. Oops. She looked to see four markers though and wanted to quickly change the subject, even if just for right now. "Oh hey look, more boar pups!" Without really waiting, she unsheathed her weapon, channeled Rip Ravine, and quickly dispatched of the first boar pup. Oh hey look, she got the last tusk that she needed. Awesome. Turning, she faced the remaining three pups and Koga, hoping that he wasn't as mad as she thought he was about to be.

"Well..I don't exactly want you to go and die on me. I mean, I can safely say that I finally got you to myself..."
"Finally? I hope I didn't make you wait too long. Don't worry though, I'm not going anywhere, I promised," Koga replied to Noctua. He had indeed made a promise, and if there was one thing that pretty much always held true for the man: if he made a promise, he was gonna do his damnedest to keep it. It took a lot to make Koga break a promise. Besides, he didn't really wanna go anywhere in the first place.

Koga listened as Noctua explained how the situation surrounding how she'd met Yuki and a face of utter confusion and bewilderment fell upon him. He opened his mouth to speak only to close it before a sound came out, unsure of what to say. He opened his mouth again, but before he could say anything (not that he had anything to say in the first place) Noctua spotted something, "Oh hey look, more Boar Pups!" and then she took off, quickly killing the first.

Koga followed suit, close behind. With his weapon drawn and already glowing, he ran at the second Pup. A quick, and far more devastating than he expected Han'ei, and the Boar exploded into a cloud of fragments...Koga was pissed. Not at the Pups, although he was rightfully angry at them too, but at Yuki. He left Noct alone to fight Boars?!

Koga was about to be pissed at the Boars too, however. The third Pup attempted to charge Koga, who put in little effort to dodge it. The fourth Boar however, charged right at Noctua, leaping into the air to strike her in the chest.
