Skeleton 0 Posted December 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) Skeleton's Brewed Buffs: A clinical and medicinal smell emanates throughout the store, reaching slightly beyond the entrance door into the the street. Stepping through the door you hear the bell above ring as the door opens, and again as it closes. Shelves of seemingly unorganised bottles line the walls as the building moves along the room. A counter parting the room at the back reaches to 4 feet in height, extending the entire way across the back of the room, leaving a raise-able slab which covers the far left of the counter, allowing the staff to move between the main store area and the back of the counter. The counter itself seems to have apparatus and books splayed the entire length. A doorway leading to a back room is seen at the far right. A sign hangs from above the counter; Please press bell for service should no staff be present. Skeleton 0 Posted December 6, 2019 Author #2 Share Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) Day 1: Skeleton hung the sign up above the counter as the final piece in opening his new store. Things had moved rather quickly for him these last couple of days. Not only had he completed several quests back to back, he'd become a somewhat passable alchemist with a store to match. Climbing down from the stepladder, he walked towards the entrance, pulling out a key, and opening up shop for the day. He slightly opened the door, to not ring the bell, reached out and flipped the store sign to "Open" from "Closed". Moving back behind the counter, he lowered the slab, completing the counter, and moved to the back room after a quick bell test to ensure it worked. He began pulling out his own private apparatus to begin crafting new salves. He wanted to begin crafting potions soon. Skeleton 0 Posted December 7, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) Day 2: Making his way to back room once more, Skeleton started pulling apparatus out from the shelves and drawers nearby. Setting up his usual salve crafting station, he made his way towards the books to the side. The musty tomes were beginning to go from musty to very well read with Skeleton's new use of them. They must not have been used for quite some time before Skeleton came along. Flipping through the pages, Skeleton compared his materials to the ingredients required. Just when he had found something he could attempt, he had found that he lacked the apparatus appropriate to prepare the salve. Eventually, Skeleton decided to stick to his basics and began his work. Spoiler ID# 131313 CD: 5 +1 Exp Skeleton had attempted crafting the original salve for his first attempt, but once again, he was too hasty and messed up the temperature control. Spoiler ID# 131314 CD: 9 LD: 5 +2 Exp Again the craft was a failure. Skeleton had failed to retain any materials on either of his crafts. Day 3: Having just joined the guild at Randal's request, Skeleton found the bonus buffs from the guild to be a welcome addition to his possible crafts. They also helped the durability of his materials survive to a much larger degree of his messed up crafts. Having gathered some new materials alongside Randal today, Skeleton decided to get to work in the back room of Brewed Buffs. The same apparatus as usual is brought out on to his workbench in the center of the room. Spoiler ID #131338 CD:8 LD:15 +4 Exp Spoiler ID# 131339 CD: 5 +3 Exp Despite the additional help form the buffs that were provided by the guild, Skeleton still had not managed to craft a single salve successfully. He had managed to save the materials of one of the crafts, but he had lost the material entirely on the second and final craft. Skeleton slunk into a nearby chair and let out a sigh. He figured he'd give it another try tomorrow. Edited December 8, 2019 by Skeleton

Skeleton opened the store's door, flipping the sign to open as he entered his establishment. He pulled out a broom and began to sweep the floor until he was satisfied that it was clean. Next on his list was dusting the shelves. He took out the cloth he set aside for this purpose, dipped it in warm water, then squeezed out as much excess water as he was capable of. Wiping down the shelves was more work than the sweeping, probably as it took more concentration. Finally, he took care of the windows, washing out the same cloth and re-using it. As he finished he was satisfied that the store looked as clean as an alchemist's store could before taking his leave of the main floor, and moving to the back room once again to begin his daily crafting routine. Skeleton had felt he was on the verge of learning something. A certain practice of at least keeping the materials a little safer. Skeleton once again entered the back room, intent on crafting a brand new batch of items. As he sat in his chair he stared directly at the ceiling hoping that he would be capable of making something of worth eventually. Skeleton 0 Posted December 11, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) Day 6: Pulling out the beakers, bunsen burner, iron gauze, miniature tripod, pestle and mortar, and finally, a beaker of water Skeleton was prepared to attempt today's crafting procedures. He felt it was about time he succeeded in making a decent salve and was feeling determined to craft as carefully as possible to achieve it. He grabbed the beaker of water, and put it to his lips. It was important to stay hydrated and he had no cups, so a beaker was the most appropriate option available as he simply has an abundance of them. Thankfully Skeleton cleaned his apparatus thoroughly after use, otherwise he'd be concerned for the residue of his salves. With a sigh of frustration he began packing away the two successful salves to his inventory and returning to clean the the remainder of the apparatus and crafts. He was down another 4 materials with little to show for his efforts. Edited December 11, 2019 by Skeleton
Skeleton 0 Posted December 12, 2019 Author #8 Share Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) Day 7: Skeleton once again began preparing for today's crafts. He had not been looking forward to it as he continuously has had failure after failure. The successes he achieved were near failures in their own rights and had only been saved by his quick reactions. The remainder of his crafts couldn't acquire the same benefit unfortunately. Taking a deep breath to refocus, Skeleton let out a long, slow sigh. He picked up the materials along with the pestle and mortar. The apparatus wouldn't perform as Skeleton had attempted to. It was almost as if they had begun to develop a mind of their own. A mind which had in it's own choice, decided to stop at nothing to prevent Skeleton from crafting anything further. The crafts grew preposterously manic and violent, leaving materials everywhere the eye could and couldn't see. Skeleton remained until late, cleaning. Skeleton 0 Posted December 13, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) Day 8: The profession was continuing it's ever increasingly obvious obsession with tormenting Skeleton, which had simply increased in determination with the most recent days. Skeleton was losing his will to continue. With deadened eyes, he continued to place the apparatus back on to the table, and prepare the materials. He had spent too long cleaning yesterday and the residue remaining had slightly stained some of the floor a grey like white. A taunting image to Skeleton. Skeleton 0 Posted December 29, 2019 Author #10 Share Posted December 29, 2019 (edited) Day 9: Skeleton carried in a new batch of materials for his work through the store entrance, quickly making his way to the back room. Splaying the materials along the work bench, he examined each of them to ensure they'd not been damaged, if that was even possible. Thankfully none had sustained injury in any way. Pulling out apparatus one after the other through sheer muscle memory at this stage, Skeleton began to prepare his work place for the evening. His aim was to create another salve of Pheremones. Skeleton 0 Posted January 1, 2020 Author #11 Share Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) Day 10: Skeleton had been having a tough time crafting lately. The materials simply don't seem to be reacting to the methods appropriately whatsoever. Insisting on sticking to crafting another pheremone salve, he once again began taking out the apparatus he required to craft. The result of his practice seemed to make retrieval of materials from failed crafts more plausible than before now that he knew the signs of impending failure. Despite his endeavours Skeleton was unable to craft another pheromone salve. Instead he had crafted an abundance of rather basic items which could be used as healing items or antidotes when fixed with the appropriate finishing garnish so to speak. He had stocked them to his inventory for finishing later as he had no idea what would even be required. It didn't seem like low level healing items or antidotes were currently in high demand at the moment. Letting out a sigh, Skeleton began to clean up his workstation.
