The sun was out and it was sunny as heck, this much was seen when the light filtered through her shop windows waking her up. She groaned as she remembered that she still had one more quest to do today, and then she could do whatever it was that she really wanted to do at any moment. She was ready to go and find some need materials, especially since she needs them to be able to craft, but she wants to be able to actually be able to finish this final quest first.

So, with Bast fast on her heels then, she started toward the docks that Hannah had told her about the night before. She had her spear in one hand and the fishing pole for the quest in her other. She knew what to expect, but she also didn't want to expect it because it was going to be hell. She didn't like fishing. Many said that it was peaceful, but was it really?

The pair walked through the town, heading toward the exit where the docks was supposed to be. But of course, neither of them seemed to want to get onto a boat, so they were taking their sweet time making that walk. Besides, it wasn't like they were on a time restraint, so why not just take her time and feel like she didn't need to rush to do everything. Nephthys looked at the gate that they needed to walk out of, and she heard a whine come from the panther.

"I know Bast, but, we get this quest done and there are no more for a bit. We can take a break and just go hunt down some materials, how does that sound?" The panther took a moment before she let out a reluctant chirp followed by a whistle. "I'll take that as an 'okay'." She chuckled as she patted the panther's head before they left the town.

But even as they left the town, she could see some clouds rolling in. Apparently the past two days were going to be plagued with some rain. That should make fishing even more fun shouldn't it. She sighed at the smell of the rain that was bound to come right as she got to her quest. She had a feeling that she couldn't just push this off to the side to wait until the rain was gone either. So, she continued to walk and ignored the irritated hiss and whines that came from the panther beside her.

She wasn't going to enable to panther to continue to complain, that just meant that the panther would end up getting her way, and well, she wasn't about to let that happen. She needed to get this quest done, and if she had to do it in rain, then damn it she would be doing it in rain.

She felt the first tiny drop of rain as she neared the shack by the docks.  She grumbled something under her breath and even heard a whine come from Bast beside her. The pair didn't mind the rain normally, but not when they are about to be doing a quest that is going to involve them going on a boat to fish up a fish. That didn't sound like anything fun really. Neph walked with her steady pace still though. It was only maybe a drop or two every three minutes, so it wasn't horrible on her just yet.

Of course, that was starting to change as she actually got to the shack and looked around for Ol' Pete. Of course, the NPC was hiding in his damn shack, so she went over and knocked on the door, for several minutes, before she finally heard someone moving inside. Now, it was just the waiting game to see when he was going to open the door and talk to her.

Finally, the door opened, "Hello." Really, that is all that she was going to get from this guy right now? She sighed and held out the fishing pole, "Hannah wanted me to bring this to you." "Oh good! I've been needing that, and someone to help me with a little task." Right, a little task, either way, Neph pressed accept on the quest that came up and she listened. "So, there is this sword-fish that I have been trying to catch, but the bugger is so big that I can't get him alone. So, perhaps you would be willing to come out on the boat with me to go and get the sword-fish?"

She nodded, "Yeah, lead the way." Ol' Pete finally left his shack and took the fishing pole from Nephthys before walking over to a boat. "So, you just get in this boat with your cat there, and I'll get us on the water. I just ask that you do the rowing." Of course.

Right, time to get into a boat with a giant cat, whom Ol' Pete seems to think is the size of a kitten right now. Either way, Neph got into the boat and pulled the scared panther into it with her. Soon enough, Ol' Pete was pushing them from the shore into the water before joining her in the boat. She didn't want to talk all that much, so she grabbed the ores and started to row them to the middle of the lake.

Now, normally this would be a fast job, but with a grown ass panther in the boat with them shaking like a leaf, it was actually a bit harder to do. But still, she managed to row them slowly to the middle of the lake, all the while making sure that her familiar didn't try to jump into the water to swim back to shore. Once they were in the middle of the lake though, she put the ores down and grabbed the fishing pole that Ol' Pete was offering her.

What is one to do with a fishing pole? Well throw it into the water of course and bide their time until something bites. So that is what she did. She threw the hook and the bait into the water, and she leaned back against Bast to start waiting. By this point, the panther was just laying on the boat whining, so Neph figured that the contact would help the giant cat. It did, but to a point. The panther was no longer shaking now, but she was still whining.

"I take it the cat doesn't like water. Typical cats." Neph looked at Ol' Pete and shook her head, "Actually, she doesn't like boats. Water she doesn't seem to mind." Even as she said this, it started to rain a little harder on the group in the boat, which was not helping the nerves of the poor cat sitting in the boat.

So, not only was it now raining hard on them, but she was still attempting to fish up this sword-fish. Yeah, whoever said that fishing was peaceful, is a huge liar. Because this was not peaceful at all. She hated it actually. She just wanted to be out of this boat, back on shore, and walking back to town. But no, this sword-fish had to play the difficult game of 'I don't want to be fished up'. At this point, it feels like the fish was actually laughing at her, that asshole.

But, even as she thought that insult, her line started to get yanked on. She quickly started to reel the fish in that was on the end of it, and she grumbled with the strength of the damn thing. Push and pull, that was the game that she was playing currently, and she hated it so much. It took another three minutes of trying to reel the fish in, before it was finally out from under the surface and glaring daggers at the woman.

The sword-fish tried to attack her first, only she watched as the fish failed, harshly at that. Instead of managing to get its tail out of the water to hit her, it merely splashed her with water. Of course, that wasn't comfortable with it raining, but at least it was already raining. So she was already soaked to the bone. But she didn't take long after the failed attack from the sword-fish for her to start channeling Fatal Thrust into her spear.

The moment it was ready to be used, she thrusted the spear into the fish. The powerful hit almost missed the fish, but she still managed to nick it in the tail just before it's tail disappeared under the water again. This hit managed to drain the sword-fish's health down to the final eight points, going from green to red. That was a wonderful hit that she loved, and she was going to go for another one just like it.

The sword-fish disappeared under the water for a moment, and soon it was back, showing it's ugly face. This wasn't a surprise to her, but it missing her once more was. She watched as the fish tried to push her off the boat by jumping into her, but instead it just jumped right over her. This caused the boat to rock a little bit, but she still channeled Heft through her spear. The moment that she had the skill ready to use, she attacked.

A single diagonal slash through the middle of the sword-fish causing the last of it's life drain away. Instead of the fish turning into fragments, it just floated on the surface of the lake instead. "Perfect! You killed it. Now, bring it on board the boat." She looked at Ol' Pete, her look clearly stating 'Are you kidding me?' but of course, no the NPC wasn't kidding her and she sighed.

The sword-fish was slowly floating away from the boat with the rain and she grumbled something. She tried to grab the fish's tail, but missed and almost fell into the lake instead. So, instead, she saw the ores and she grabbed one of them, hoping to use it to be able to bring the fish back to her. So, here she sat, in a flimsy boat, with a freaked out cat, and a smug looking NPC, as she tried to get the sword-fish to come back to her.

It was slowly working, so that was the good news, but it was still too far for her to grab it. She realized this little factor the moment that she tried to grab the tail of the fish once more, only to lose the grip of the ore with her other hand, dropping it into the lake. So now, she had a floating fish that she had to catch and a floating ore. Perfect.

The fish was closer to her, so she leaned over and tried to grab it. She was so close to getting the fish, but still a bit too short. She looked at Bast and she gave a pointed look, "Bast, if I fall in, make sure I don't drown." The rain was starting to come down a little harder now, and there was wind starting to blow in her face. But she stopped and looked at this, realizing that it was working in her favor.

She smiled as the fish started to float back to her and she waited a few moments. As soon as it was within reach, she grabbed the tail of the fish and took the time to lug the giant thing onto the boat. The moment that it was on the boat, she looked at Ol' Pete, hoping that he had a spare ore on the boat. "Gonna get the ore?" Nope, he didn't.

Okay, the wind helped her with the fish, but for some reason, it wasn't helping all the much with the floating ore. She sighed as she grabbed the second ore and kept a tight grip on it. She slowly started to paddle the boat over to the floating ore, which wasn't easy at all with a single ore. It was actually harder to do really because Bast wasn't to happy to be getting hit with water when she switch the side that she was rowing on.

Then there was the wind which seemed to be working against her with just about everything now. Throwing freeing cold rain into her face and making her regret ever wanting to do this stupid quest. But, she still kept at moving the boat ever s slowly to the floating ore. She was going to get it, then she was going to get to shore. That was going to happen whether this game wanted it to or not.

Okay, she was finally next to the ore, or at least as close as she could get to it. She sighed at the horrible thing that she was dealing with right now. But, there was no getting past this. She grumbled as she used the second ore to bring the floating one closer to her once more. Once it was within reach, she grabbed the ore, and tossed both of the ores into the boat and leaned back for a few minutes.

"Um, we can only get back to shore if you row us there," thanks Ol' Pete, she didn't know that at all. "Give me a moment, getting the fish on board and getting the lost ore wasn't easy in this rain." The NPC seemed to grumble something about old bones and the rain and she rolled her eyes. She really didn't want to hear it from a cranky old NPC on how the weather was messing with him.

After resting her arms a few minutes, she started to row the boat back to the shore. It wasn't easy, and she was grateful that she had taken those few moments to rest. Mainly because the wind was going against them and making it harder to row. But the rain also wasn't helping her hands as they were now freeing while holding onto the ores. Stupid winter weather. She was starting to wonder if she was ever going to catch a break with this boat ride.

But as she slowly made progress to getting them back to shore, she wondered if this part of the quest was always this hard, or was it just her luck that it was going about like this. Of course, she didn't have anyone else to talk to about it at the moment, but perhaps that could be a question for Koga when she got to see him next. Or she should just make herself some new friends.

Rowing, this was starting to hurt. But the shore was getting closer, and that is all that she wanted to know really. She was just focusing on this little factor as she pulled the boat closer and closer to the shore. "Is it too much to ask for the wind to work with us," her words were grumbled as she continued to row the boat back to the shore. It was closer than it had been mere moments before, but it still wasn't going in her favor.

At least, until she felt the wind shift and it was going with her now. She sighed in relief at this as the boat started to move closer to the shore, faster than it had done with her fighting against the wind. It took just a few more minutes before she was out of the boat and walking it onto shore, pulling it against the sand.

She finished settling the boat on the shore and she sat down in the boat for a minute. She heard the NPC start to talk and she just held up her hand, interrupting him right away. Normally, she wasn't this short with NPCs, but right now, this was just horrible. Rain, wind, a giant ass fish, and a NPC who thinks that he has to critique everything that she was going at the moment. Yeah, she really wasn't wanting to hear it at the moment.

So, after she took a few minutes of a break, she nods and looked at the NPC. "Okay Ol' Pete, where do you want this sucker?" She had a feeling that he wasn't going to pull the fish out of the boat. So, she knew that it was going to fall onto her shoulders right now, and she was gearing up and getting ready for that horrible fact.

"Can you put it right by my front door? I have a fire in there that I can use to cook it so that I'm not in this rain much longer." Right, because you are just so lucky to be able to hide in doors while she was the one stuck doing everything. She watched as the NPC went into his shack and she grumbled something under her breath before she looked at Bast. But the panther wasn't in the boat, instead, she was hiding under the patio cover of the shack, trying to stay out of the rain.

"Wow, even betrayed by my best friend," she sighed as she shook her head and grabbed the fish by the tail as the head. She was going to lug the thing out of the boat and to the front door. Then, perhaps she will be able to leave like she wants to.

Carrying the giant fish wasn't easy. It took her a few minutes to even get a good enough grip on the fish to be able to carry it. In fact, it eve fell a few times before she was able to perfect a hold on the fish that was going to work during the rain. With the head of the fish over her shoulder and resting down her back, she held onto the fish by it's tail that was resting over her chest.

This seemed to work perfectly for her as she was pelted by the rain and she walked. Soon enough, she was at the door of the shack and dropped the fish on the ground and pounded on the door, "Got your fish delivery." Her voice was a little irritable, but she still tried to hold a smile on her face. The NPC opened the door and pulled the fish instead.

"Thank you, if you want to wait a few minutes, I can make you a wonderful treat from this fish." She looked at the NPC and noticed that she still had the quest, which clearly meant that she had to wait for the treat. She sighed as she nodded and sat down on the patio when he closed the door. Didn't even offer to let her inside, and they say that young people didn't have any manners. She looked at Bast who was whining and trying to rub her head on Neph's arm.

"I know, I know, you're sorry. You know that I can't be mad at you. Just don't ditch me in the rain again okay." A chirp came from the panther that ended in a purr as Neph started to rub the giant cat's head. "You're lucky I love you Bast." The cat bumped her head into Neph's cheek before she laid down next to Neph.
