[F01-PP] Miss Communications

How long had they been here for? NIGHT checked her display when Mari began to rise, starting to take her leave. "Oh-- sorry to keep you for so long," she peppered in, giving her client a nod, going over the notes in her hand for a bit, before getting up to rise, too. She'd look away when Ceres issued her a compliment, scratching her cheek -- of course the woman had to, almost as though it was ingrained in her veins to do so. NIGHT turned back again when Mari began humming, contemplating the new merchant's offers for her wares.

Perhaps the two just weren't exactly compatible beings though, with the way their attitudes continuously clashed with each other. The adventurer held a worried look when she watched Mari extended a hand, only to be returned with a hug. She'd almost wanted to giggle, until the PK-er shoved her friend away. It was probably for the best, NIGHT thought, but couldn't help but feel a tinge of injustice for Ceres.

With a yell and a curt farewell, the stranger left, leaving the two in the glade alone.

 

How... how do I salvage this...?

The woman was silent for a bit, watching Ceres' back. Was it even her place to comfort her friend? Did... did she need it? Would it even be welcome?

Past experiences had taught her otherwise, by now. The realization hit her with a sharp pain in her chest. With a shrug, she sighed, stuffing a hand in her pockets as she waved to the redhead with the journal in her hands. "C'mon," she called, eyes unnaturally cast to the floor as she bit her lip. "It's alright. Let's go."
