Raidou comes to consciousness with a slight stretch and a rub of his eyes. It seemed he was exhausted enough to sleep with his glasses on. At the foot of the bed were the bags of goods from the prior day. Raidou left them where they were as they were safe here in the guild hall and collected the gear he had dropped the day before. Adjusting his glasses onto his face proper and heading down the stairs the table was still in disarray. Pulling some food from his inventory and starting into it, he planned that today he would do the gathering first thing as to avoid being so far from comfort with exhaustion this time around. Quickly extracting himself from the perimeter around Tolbana past varied minecarts littered with pickaxes plenty. Raidou finds himself through the dense yellow fog and into the little alcove hidden away through a break under one of the walls of the path just out of sight except to those who were looking. Raidou was expecting it to be empty, he was here just eight or so hours ago. To his surprise however, the nodes were still rather filled and fruitful. He was convinced that maybe he had missed more than he thought. Getting to work Raidou undonned his robe and started to get his hands dirty starting with the plants which he was accustomed. The break of these growths echoed softly on the damp and rough walls that encapsulated them, reverberating faintly to the silence. Raidou tossed them underhanded to his right upon each successful pull, building a small pile not focusing too much on pocketing them as getting them free quickly. He also could not help but notice that every pull was met with a small notification on his HUD that followed alerting him to a growing counter of eggs adding themselves to his inventory. Still not knowing the significance he paid it little mind but would have to take the time to find out what it meant and where to 'use' these out of place morsels that was flooding his HUD with words. Golden Thread was a staple that was to be sure, but it was useless without something to bond it to. The alchemist knew this, so if he hoped to make use of any of them, he would have to gather blood boosters or the like to actually do so. He was still in need of a metric ton of cold ivory as well, which would require another painful travel to floor 4 to be certain. Raidou cringed slightly at the thought, as every time he finds himself on floor 4 it ends in a painful memory and another failure. But it had to be done, and despite how much discomfort it caused, Raidou would return to the floor he was growing to despise with all but one or two good moments of the past. Especially in the presence of another entity Raidou remained strong and hid all of his emotion under a barrier of rage, the only thing that saw his sadness was the plants that aided in such. Haine was gone, Ruri was gone and the monument of life seemed to have forgotten them as well. But he wouldn't forget, his absence from the game showed how much of an impact their disappearance had on the once frontline turned fishermen and gatherer. That was then, and this is now. Raidou's demeanor changes slightly, forcing himself toward a goal he had set for himself. He had to leave the past in its grave unless he wanted to be buried along with it. A rough back wall makes a good target, showing faint silver lines that are hard to make out to all but the keenest eye among the dark grey backdrop. Slamming his weapon into it like a pickaxe, such a blunt edge was good for such things as he didn't need to worry about dulling it. A quick flip of his grip to check for chips or bends in the blade show none, a flourish finds it to its hearth and sheathed. The impact knocks a good heap of shattered stone to the ground without causing a cave in, to which in Raidou's unstable mindset went completely unnoticed. This was quicksilver usable by both blacksmiths and artisans. Raidou had no idea what it was, but sure it was obviously useful in some regard and would leave it to Simmone to identify it and divvy it to the others, put her appraisal skill to work. The notion carried Raidou away to how the others were developing, more so after the proof they had provided during their first lessons questline. Raidou always hoped they would prove the ability to work in tandem, and such a trivial quest set should have been a cake walk as a group if they were actually acting as one. It was a habit that was irrelevant given he would just kneel again, but it was one he could not help but perform or even realize he was doing such a thing. Withdrawing his sword from its scabbard and hopping up a lowered platform, Raidou sees a small nook of webbing and begins to peel away at it with a spin of his weapon. It was very hard to perform such a feat, given the weight being held overhead. The cord began to twine itself around his blade, forming clumps of the stuff. Fighting with gritted teeth, he found the sensation like a heat almost comforting in its ability to draw his mind from something that was actually painful. Twining a second batch and bagging it in a linen cloth, he heaves it back. It lands and rolls in an unshapely ball to the prior harvest. Relaxing his arm as its beginning to shake from the exertion, Raidou takes a moment before moving for the remaining bit still hidden up in this crevice. A few minutes pass given the struggle, Raidou manages the last of it with his blade dragging along the wall on his right in the process in an almost screeching grind creating some sparks as it falls from overhead in the attempt. Carefully removing it without touching it, given this would adhere quite harshly to anything it came in contact with except metals. Setsuna would be capable of doing more with it, but Raidou had no choice but to wrap it up carefully and bag it for her to deal with. Raidou wondered what kind of fabric or silk she could weave out of it, thinking maybe he should ask to watch a time to quench his curiosity. Raidou still could not help but be intrigued by the things he didn't understand, due to his scientific and philosophical mind being unable to be contained and always trying to learn more and store it for future use. A self imposed isolation from reality for being too curious, or was it? It was true Raidou always asked the difficult questions, it is true that he always wanted to get to the bottom of a subject and it was also true he didn't understand people enough to process their words as more than numbers but was it truly his problem or theirs? The words seemed to echo through his mind as he almost passively moves to the next node in question, unknowingly harvesting gemstones while going through a mental argument of ideals in his cranium like a vocal audience with aspects of his personality trying to understand what he was doing wrong. A subtle echo of falling jewels bouncing off the cavern floor to deaf ears, as Raidou's thoughts were ringing in his ears to violently to realize they were falling. Taking them up and dropping in the center of the grotto with the others as they communed away from the nodes from which they were pulled, in a good size array of bulked items starting to take quite the magnificent sight to the swordsman who was paying them little mind, lost in his own reality. An adjust of the mirrors filled with a light blue light that shielded his eyes from view, correcting them on the bridge of his nose that they were threatening to slip off of. Raidou took to the mushrooms and began to harvest the light tan red and white topped fungi that took to the trickle that bled from moisture above. A snap of the stems that adhered them to such, small green lizards darting off as an unaware and unfocused fingerless glove began to pull away at the foodstuff without a pilot. A soft hiss from them as they are disturbed before they clammer up the wall behind and out of sight, disappearing through small openings in the walls and ceilings in haste. Raidou starts to pool the harvest in his off hand with them all collecting in rich a rich color spectrum that would make who knows what of a meal, as cooking was not in his wheel house despite its importance. As if spoken by himself to himself, Raidou was lost in his own head. Despite his lack of focus though he had no issue keeping his hands moving and experience made even absent minded harvesting fruitful. It showed in another resounding pile of the stuff in his grasp, his left full of another pack to be added to the vault for the guild to utilize, to prosper, to grow. Moving on to performer crystals that were flowing from the wall in a straightened wall of them he began to remove them deftly without damage to any and without cognitive care put in to do so either. It seemed his methods had become more routine or muscle memory enough that even when he was not paying attention to such he could do so almost blindfolded at this point. One at a time he would remove them, take them to the tapestry and lay it down before returning for another, given the length and fragileness it was the ideal way to do so. The crystals were all the same rainbow reflection of colored light and of the same size, and more still completely unharmed by the nomad's extraction of each placing them all where they were with little effort or attention paid to any of the lot. The wall kept giving it seemed however, and Raidou subconsciously kept on working lost in his own inner monologue like a prison. A few lay higher up and Raidou perched himself on a stone to reach higher, placing his right foot against the rough terrain wall for support as he sort of vaulted up to grab at the higher raised ones to reach. Taking to the cloak that acted like a tarp or blanket Raidou began to bag a lot of it up as it was starting to bleed out from the spot given the yield he had attained. A few tied linen bags that started to take positions around his waist in dangling sacks wrapped with string in a slight semi circle creating a belt loop to slide on to metal clasps on the very same he had used before. This was herbs, and moving to the golden thread that remained and although it would serve little use without something to compose it with Raidou did not care. He was gathering them to cleanse himself of the overwhelming burning in his cranium, the very same that caused his withdrawal from society and his turn to books to fulfill what people could not. Peeling roots with complimentary snapping noises that echo out in a soothing sound like a lullaby from a friend, Raidou was nursing a mental hang over with a method that worked for him to find peace. Each break moved him away from the insanity, each snap bringing him closer to calm and collected, back to the image he had painted of himself. Raidou could feel the shift that caused him to don a mask, a facade that changed himself and compartmentalized himself from his guild self. As a guild leader he could not afford to be weak or wavering, he needed to make calls and actions, orders and command and it was no place for hesitation or the turmoil he had found in the grotto today alongside the materials he was harvesting. This is what he needed, and what Firm Anima and those he stood in front of needed: A strong mind that remained calm until the end, whatever instance that may take he would make that stand. Function, after all, was more important than beauty to the nomad, and despite its outlandish color, it was for the function he chose it. It is hard to ignore a vibrant red color and Raidou hoped this stood true for the cardinal's soldiers as true to real ones. Draw the attention, block the damage from those it would harm. A simple notion and the reason his sword was forged in the first place. Taking his exit Raidou made his way home, more focused than ever. A warp gate leads him to the guild hall, Raidou dumps off the materials he had alongside the ones from the prior morning. It was quite a sight such a yield, making a good headwind in the guild vault for Simmone to deal with. Raidou takes to the table, retrieving a quill and begins to scratch notes on sheets of white that ricochet off a quiet interior met with the shifting of paper.
