Absolutely brilliant. NIGHT was so lucky, it was almost as though Cardinal was smiling down upon her. Or maybe not, because her luck so far had just been uncanny, and the only way she was still standing on her own two feet was because her foe's fortune had just been even worse. So another Galaxy Destroyer then. Each time she'd summon her blinding light, NIGHT was hoping she'd be able to smite their damned beast to shreds already. The great sword hemorrhaged the scatter of stones at the site of her last impact, throwing rubble and dust into the air as her art deepened its crater cavity further. If the Colossus was going to put up another act of struggle against the two players, it had better hope it was going to do so soon. Zajcica 0 Posted June 17, 2020 #22 Report Share Posted June 17, 2020 Since she had forgotten about the fact that her not doing any damage to this thing would only make this fight longer and she spent too much time worrying about her completely capable friend Yuki made sure that she got her attack in this time around. Rearing back her heavy spear from it implanted position on the Colossus's stone pectoral, the paladin slammed it harshly into the weak point she was attacking. The damage came out to be a critical, doing a bit better damage than she did the last few times she had attacked it. Nice. The bleed effect appeared above the Colossus's health points, making the job only just the slightest easier for Night. She looked up to make sure her friend was alright when the giant began to rumble. It looks like it was going to do another shake. She gripped onto her lance and hoped that it wouldn't be as bad as the one that shook them off earlier. NIGHT 0 Posted June 17, 2020 Author #23 Report Share Posted June 17, 2020 It must've been weak, for the rumbling that came afterwards had barely managed to register with either players still on the construct. As NIGHT landed her final blow against the Colossus, not only did the weak point vanish, blocking out a large hole into the side of the giant, it seemed as though her sword art had managed to blow the golem's head off its neck completely, forcing the woman to rethink the power behind her actions. The stone fragment vanished behind its other shoulder, bowling through the air unceremoniously, lost to the dense white of the fog in the distance. Also, this essentially caused the entire creature to start crumbling away from the bottom up, so really, the violent shake that would've thrown them off was just delayed. NIGHT panicked completely, managing to fall back on her hind when the shakes became too violent for her to stand. One misstep when she tried to rise was only gravity's invitation for her to topple downwards -- thankfully, there were still parts of the Colossus that hadn't completely disintegrated yet. She buried her blade's tip into the side of its chest, slowing her fall only for a moment to yell over to Yuki. "It's dead! Zajcica 0 Posted June 17, 2020 #24 Report Share Posted June 17, 2020 As Night delivered the final strike to the Colossus, the head bowled over it's neck and down past it's chest. The girl clung to the giant's body as the head nearly took her down to earth with it. She sighed quietly as she realized she was safe enough at this point. Night warned her that they needed to get off of it before they fell to their death, something Yuki could get behind. The two of them rushed their climbing down as quick as possible to get off the thing before it collided with the ground. It's knees bucked into the dirt, causing it to shake violently enough to throw the paladin off as they were getting close to the ground. Night was much faster than her, so she got off easily. Yuki on the other hand wasn't quick enough. The shaking through her off and she fell to her back taking a bit more fall damage, but not nearly as bad as earlier. When the two reunited and the giant was completely gone, she gave her damage buddy a thumbs up. "Nailed it."
