Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 9, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) Outside in the back yard of his estate, Kiluia was setting up a training set for his penguin. It was time for Pingu to accept that she would be going on quests with him and that she would need to pull her weight. Amber eyes would scan the items that he had purchased to get his penguin going. A doll to attack, a slide, and an obstacle course would be seen surrounding the young man. Of course, he would be there to attack the penguin too to speed up the process of training. “Okay. Now that this is done, its time to get started.” He looked up at the sun to judge he time and the weather. It seemed fair today. The time looked a little over noon as he opened his HUD. Quote Wake up Love. Breakfast is ready for you. With a push of a button, the message was sent. He wanted to let Haine sleep in today since she had been waking up early for him. He had made her breakfast as it was waiting on the table with a note stating that there was a cool glass of orange juice for her. Her breakfast was a baked croissant with a chocolate spread. Fresh fruit was cut for her as well to maintain her healthy choices or so he thought anyway. Haine 0 Posted July 9, 2020 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) She was passed out like a brick, snoring away a storm. As of late, she had no choice but to alter her sleeping schedule. Most activities were earlier, now that she was involved with the guild and too nosy with Kiluia's endeavors for her own good. Today would be a treat, a chance to sleep in. She was fast asleep on a mountain of plushes, dreaming of a grand feast. In that dream, all her friends were at the table munching away. She took the liberty to strap Pingu to a chair, watching as the bird flailed about in her seat. It was a sight to behold, a table full of sweet- A message chimed, snapping her out of her trance. She slowly yet surely became conscious, her eyebrows furrowed. "Whaaaat?" She groaned, noticing the pop-up on her HUD. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and clicked it. A message from her love? She glanced at the corner of the screen, gaping incredulously. How long was she asleep? It was already a bit past noon. All the way from her room, she could smell a sweet aroma of baked goods. Her mouth practically watered. She stepped out of bed, and instead slipped into more comfortable clothing. She planned to kick back today. She freshened up and made her way to the table. Surely enough, the food was there waiting. "Oh, how I love you..." She giggled, fixing herself a full plate. The glutton would feast today. She pulled out a chair, contemplating on eating in silence. On second thought, the silence inside was unsettling. She slid open the screen door and stepped out, sliding it shut. "Here I am!" She raised the plate up high and stretched. She then noticed what looked like an obstacle course. "Uhhh, what's all this..?" Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 9, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted July 9, 2020 He placed the finishing touches on the course and was finished. He looked at his creation while Pingu was sitting in the shade unaware that this was her training session. The sliding door caught his attention as he looked up at the woman with a smile. “I built this for our familiars. I wanted to test it out with Pingu first and then let cubbo take it next.” He named it Cubbo since it was just a cute name for him. He slowly walked up the stairs and looked at her eye to eye. He leaned in and kissed her cheek before taking a swig of his own drink. He was a little sweaty due to the amount of effort he had to put into making the training area for the two. “Did you sleep well? I wanted you to sleep a bit since you had been working extra hard lately. I don’t want you to wear yourself down, love.” He leaned against the railing looking at her. He was not in anything but a muscle shirt he had managed to find and some work shorts that kept him cool for the most part. Still the sweat was there.
Haine 0 Posted July 9, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) "Oh, sweet! Good luck with her." Her tone was a wee bit sarcastic as she shrugged. Kill would need the luck, with how much of a handful Pingu was. The bird was resting in the shade, watching her owner build some strange looking fortress. She chalked it up to human stuff, although her curiosity was getting the best of her. She waddled up to him and poked his leg with his beak, as if to ask a question. Across the yard, Miska was resting in front of the pond. He leaned his head off the edge, dipping his snout into the cool water. She returned his kiss and pulled back. She tried to be a lady, she really did, but she couldn't help stealing a glance at his physique. She hoped he didn't notice while he took a swig of his water. She gulped and stuffed her face with a croissant. "...Me? Y-Yeah! Still as a rock." Her cheeks began to flush as she reflected. Me? Seriously? Who else?! To save herself the embarrassment, she padded down the stairs with her plate. "Thanks for the breakfast, sweets! It's delicious," she called over her shoulder. She chewed a mouthful of fruit, surveying the obstacle course. "Ya' sure she's not too fat for this tunnel?" She pointed at it with her fork. Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 9, 2020 Author #5 Share Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) He leaned over the railing watching her walk down to greet her familiar. A smile crossed his face watching her quietly at first. He looked at Pingu and spoke.” Ready? I want you to move through the course and get to the dummy to smack it.” Pingu looked up at his master liked she was godsmacked. The creature moved to cater to the order that was given to her. The entrance was there but she really had no idea what to do after that. She took her wing and hit it making it shake slighty. She glanced back up at her master with beady eyes and wondered exactly what he meant. It was a bit strange and unnatural. Kiluia slowly stepped down the steps and placed a fish on the other side. This would help her be motivate next time. “This is to let you help me on the battlefield.” His eyes had to avert as he was actually staring at Haine from behind. Haine 0 Posted July 9, 2020 #6 Share Posted July 9, 2020 Haine stood there, curious to see how Pingu would fair with her instructions. She couldn't help but laugh out loud at the bird's tentative slap at the dummy. She was uncertain of what her owner was trying to convey. She covered her mouth and walked off. The last thing she wanted was to be a distraction by standing nearby. Haine pulled a chair up a good distance away from the obstacle course. Miska, upon seeing his owner, padded over to her. "Here bud." She patted a spot beside her on the grass. The polar bear collapsed on his side, laying there. She noticed his fascination with the sugary red cube she was munching on. "What? Want some watermelon?" She didn't think he'd enjoy it. She forked a piece from the bowl and held it up to the cub's mouth. He sniffed it tentatively, and then bit down. He licked his snout, shaking his head as he was conflicted about the sickly sweetness. It was far from his palate. But... it was interesting. He stood on his hind legs, leaning against her. His beady eyes looked up at her for more. "Ahh, damn those beady eyes. Have another." She flung the watermelon at the grass, and the speedy bear caught it at record speed. Her eyes widened in surprise. Reflexes like that could prove useful in battle.
Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 10, 2020 Author #7 Share Posted July 10, 2020 Her laughing at Pingu’s instructions would cause him to grin a little bit. It was not the fact that the peguin was not trying, it was that the instructions were foreign. The penguin noticed the watermelon and almost took off before Kiluia raise his hand to stop her. A whining squawk was heard as it seemed desperate to get away from the tall man. “After you learn something, I will give you a treat.” He was trying to be stricter with the familiar so that it would learn more at a faster rate. He stood up and walked away as the penguin stared at the obstacle course. It legitimately had no idea what to do other than pace back and forth at the entrance trying to figure out if she should enter it or not. This display made him grin a bit as he made his way to his love. He stood beside her and snuck a piece of watermelon from her. “Mine.”
Haine 0 Posted July 10, 2020 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2020 She felt sympathy for the penguin, who was trying to understand her owner's commands. She was distracted by Haine's fruit, jealousy creeping in as she noticed Miska was getting the fruit. Why couldn't she? She squawked, as if to ask why her owner had betrayed her when he snuck a piece of watermelon from the woman's cup. "Don't worry, Ping! We believe in you." She spot the penguin a thumbs up, then tossed another cube of fruit to the bear. The cub rolled onto his side. Haine held up a sugar cube between her fingers. "See this? You'll get as much as you want once you complete your training." She popped the cube into her mouth and hummed. She hadn't noticed that in such a short time, the bear reached over to grab her half eaten croissant. "Um, rude!" Haine scoffed at the familiar. The both of them were driven by their love for food. Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 10, 2020 Author #9 Share Posted July 10, 2020 Food was the common factor that kept them together. He waited patiently for the penguin to move but it seemed at a halt. With the obstacle course in front of her, she just paced as if she was making a life altering decision. The bear was distracting but it was a child cub. He waved to get Pingu’s attention. “Focus, Pingu. You don’t need to worry too much but to keep walking through the obstacle course.” His body sat down beside Haine and he pulled his knees up a bit to get a comfortable position. Sweat seemed to be gone by now as he spoke to her. “I didn’t think she would have that bad a time following direction. Just gotta push through it, I suppose.” He snuck another bite of her watermelon into his mouth before snatching a kiss on her cheek as well. He was just as playful as the familiars. Haine 0 Posted July 10, 2020 #10 Share Posted July 10, 2020 She giggled at the quick kiss he stole, returning one back. She loved how slick he was sometimes. There were things he would do or say that never failed to make her flustered. She folded her hands into her lap. Altogether, the little bites she fed to the bear cub had put a dent in her bowl. From her height, she was able to reach down to pat his head. She ran her fingers through his smooth white locks, enjoying the feeling of the fluff between them. Once she'd pulled away, she chortled at the fluffy mass she'd made of it. How could he be so effortlessly handsome? She caught his gaze once and shook her head. "Oh, sorry. I couldn't help but adore you, love." She could sense she was getting sappy now, but unlike before, she wasn't afraid to as much. The two of them were honest and open with each other, she loved that. Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 10, 2020 Author #11 Share Posted July 10, 2020 (edited) He was looking over at the penguin once again and spoke to Haine. “You don’t have to stay here love. I don’t think Pingu is going to do well.” He gave a slight frown. He watched Pingu moving but knocked the obstacle maze over a bit. A shake of his head was seen and slight disappointment. He glanced over at the cub watching as the penguin started beating up the wall now. “Pingu. Please. Do not do that.” Frustration began to rise a bit but he exhaled. He was trying to be reserved and show patience to his familiar. Yelling would not get the penguin anywhere. He looked over at his messages a moment before he looked at the Penguin again. He cleared up his entire schedule for this day. Haine could leave anytime she would like but he was hoping she would stay. “Do you want to eat something else? I can gather some food while Pingu trains?” Spoiler Fail 0/3 Edited July 10, 2020 by Kiluia Seiko
Haine 0 Posted July 10, 2020 #12 Share Posted July 10, 2020 (edited) "But I don't wanna be aloneee." She shrugged. Pingu was definitely struggling, conflicted between resistance and confusion at her owner's command. She had not a clue how to act among all of this, the obstacle and her owner's stern gaze. She squawked and beat at the wall, frustrated. "You got this, you two! Keep goin'." The penguin was in her own world, refusing to listen to anyone. She let out a disappointing sigh and stood up. She could sense Kil's waning patience for the other. He was trying his best, however. She shook her head at the offering of food. Then, she had an epiphany. "Wait, why don't we train both of them together?" She beamed and went over to the obstacle course, fixing everything the penguin destructed. She ushered the polar bear over to the start of the course. "Maybe having a buddy will encourage her." Miska, on cue, padded over to the strange tunnel. "Okay, bud! We'll start you off slow. Can you go through this tunnel first and beat the crap outta that dummy over there?" She led him up to the tunnel, noting the bear's hesitance. "You got this! Over there." She pushed his caboose into the tunnel and met him at other end. He was wary a little, but he made it out the other end. She ran up to the dummy and held it still. "C'mon, hit it with all ya' got!" The bear started with a tentative swing, but it wasn't enough to satisfy her. "Okay, someone took your fish. What do you do now? Beat it up!" The cub shrieked and gave it a hard slash. And then couple more. She clapped excitedly. "Good job, bud! Here you go." She stole a fish from Kil and fed it to the cub, patting his head. Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 10, 2020 Author #13 Share Posted July 10, 2020 It seemed that the bear was more into it than his own penguin. Hand placed on the penguins head and he spoke to her.” Relax. We can take a break with the training for a bit.” He would have to give the penguin breaks in between, since he did not want to overload it with directions. While they stopped to take a break, Kiluia slipped off without a second moment to go get some food. The group was doing well in their own right, so he wanted to ensure everyone was doing okay. Drinks and snacks would be provided to everyone. He came back later with a basket in tow. The contents of the basket seemed to be giving off an aromatic delicious smell. “Break time, guys.” It was their lunch. This had a variety of sandwiches, muffins, and some fruit to boot. Drinks were in his other basket. A milky iced coffee for the humans and flavored water dashed with fruit pulp. “Let’s not push ourselves.”
Haine 0 Posted July 10, 2020 #14 Share Posted July 10, 2020 She decided to go for a break, as the cub had wandered off with Kiluia. The cub sat on the kitchen floor while the man prepared snacks, impatient for scraps. He followed him out the screen door, not without an occasional scratch at the human's leg. Haine, on the other hand, moved to the shaded patio. She'd just eaten recently, but her appetite was insatiable. There was always room for more. She cleared the table of any junk for the meals to be placed. Haine's mouth watered at the options on the table. "Thanks love! You're the best." She leaned over her chair to peck his forehead, and then grabbed a sandwich. She bit into it, humming in delight. She was a happy woman today, spoiled with her love's cooking. The hungry cub, with haste, jumped onto his owner's lap. Haine cried out, through a mouthful of food. "Ow! You're heavy, ya' know that?" The cub, despite his lap-dog size, was twice as heavy. She could feel the pressure on her bones for a split second.
Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 10, 2020 Author #15 Share Posted July 10, 2020 The bear was a cute child. Except it had fur. A lot of fur. He looked over at Haine enjoying the sandwiches he had prepared. “It’s going to be a light lunch today. Don’t want to make them go into hibernation with the amount of food that I provide. It’d prove to be retroactive.” He placed their drinks in order and then the drinks for the familiars on the ground where they could cause a mess if they wanted. He placed several baked brownies in the center of the table before placing his own sandwich in front of him. He was like a walking Starbucks. He had been researching day in and day out for the perfect mixtures of flavor to replicate real world flavors. There had a been a rumor he had followed about a player being able to make Soy Sauce and Mayo. He looked at her waiting for instructions to see what she enjoyed. It was boar meat with a honey mustard flavor. It was in between lettuce and a cheese. The sauce he had mixed with water, a nut found on the first floor, and honey from bees. The nut gave the mustard flavor to enhance it. Who knew? He placed fruits and some fish for the two below them. “Well?”
Haine 0 Posted July 10, 2020 #16 Share Posted July 10, 2020 (edited) "Fair enough." She knew very well that it was near impossible to wake the familiars once they slept. They slept like logs, not a noise or budge could stir them awake. She remembered many cumbersome mornings trying to get the two to rise and shine for breakfast. She reached for the iced coffee, sipping it. Her eyes widened. "Oh, that hits the spot." She sipped some more, already downing a quarter of the cup. "Y'know what this reminds me of?" She pointed at the glass and looked to the sky, willing her mind to remember. "Those coffees from Starbucks. Exactly like it!" She kicked legs, taking another swig and setting the cup down. She took another bite of the sandwich, closing her eyes to assess the flavor. Little times like these were when he'd ask her for critiques to improve his cooking. She didn't want to pick at it, but he'd asked for her honest opinion beforehand. "A tad bit too saucy, but I love it!" To make a point, she grabbed another sandwich half. Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 10, 2020 Author #17 Share Posted July 10, 2020 (edited) All her opinions were something he tailored to make the food. With that, he was able to perfect certain dishes quicker for them to eat. He would have to try to make other food for his guild mates as well to assist them when they needed it. Of course, the food was just a private meal and did not really provide much for battle. He would have to make those personally with more effort and care when the time came. He was still collecting materials to make those items. It was time for Pingu again. However, the creature decided to take a nap instead of going on with the training session. He slapped his forehead gently. This was what he was afraid of. The training was not going very well for the two. A frown spread across his face as he looked or at Haine. ” I am losing to a penguin..” He muttered softly. Spoiler Fail 0/3 Edited July 10, 2020 by Kiluia Seiko
Haine 0 Posted July 11, 2020 #18 Share Posted July 11, 2020 (edited) ID: #158536 Craft: 6 [ FAIL 1/3 ] Haine decided it was time for Miska to give it another shot. She pulled at the polar bear’s tail. “C’mon, bud! Wanna have at it?” The bear simply groaned, rolling onto his side in the midst of his food coma. Her command went ignored. “C’mon, uuuuppp.” She slapped his back gently, only to get a slight stir out of him. She grabbed at his tiny body and tried to drag him across the field, hoping the intrusion would wake him up. He raised a hind leg and kicked it in the air, all but squaring the side of her jaw. The bluenette scoffed. “Listen up here, buster! We’ve got work to do.” She even waved a fish in the air, he was in a coma for sure. Pingu, I’m the other hand, had come racing over. She flicked the bird’s forehead. “Oi, no fish for you until you finish your training.” She fixed her attention on Kiluia, an unspoken “what are we gonna do with these two?” Edited July 11, 2020 by Haine
Kiluia Seiko 0 Posted July 11, 2020 Author #19 Share Posted July 11, 2020 He started to fix the obstacle course again for the familiars. He was paying attention to the structure of the maze since he placed a lot of effort into the building of. He let the trio play around as it was still hard for them to understand the concept of training. At least the bear was ahead, he thought. One of the would at least be trained. A variety of things had to happen to get this to happen. First, they needed to continue their path and no giving up. Secondly, they needed to provide the motivation. “I don’t think food is motivation anymore.” He spoke as he looked at her. He pondered for a moment before his head shorted out thinking about it. If you could see steam, you’d see it billowing out of his head. He frowned as he couldn’t imagine what those two would want for a reward. "Any ideas?"
Haine 0 Posted July 11, 2020 #20 Share Posted July 11, 2020 The two were at their wits end with their stubborn familiars. They had a mind of their own, and the longer they went untrained, the harder they were to command. They couldn’t throw in the towel for today just yet, they’d never get anywhere otherwise. She slowly exhaled. Miska was trying her patience. In order to save the both of them, she needed to step back and chill. Perhaps a new method of approach would help move things along. What that would be? She pondered long and hard, to no avail. She moved back to her chair by the obstacle course, settling into it. She only shrugged in response. “I really dunno... maybe we should try again in a bit? Their lazy butts might be burnt out.” She gave him a reassuring smile. “Practice makes perfect, okay? We’ll try for a little training everyday, they’ll have to get the hang of it.”
