[PP | FL 22] Dating in SAO/Hard or Easy?

Recommended Posts

The house was completely engulfed with so many smells that day, one would be confused as to what Kiluia was making. Something sweet? Something savory? It was a historic event for him as he had been making all of these foods for their date he had promised her. They deserved a night out after doing the things they did for the others. He simply smiled as he moved from area to area in the kitchen. There was something on the burner, something in the oven, and something on the cooling rack. There was also something being chilled in an ice bucket. A bottle of a mysterious liquid as far as anyone could tell. There was already a basket on the table that was filled with baked goods, snacks, and a variety of foods to just eat while out there. He knew the voracious appetite of both his beloved and the familiars.

“I’ll be ready soon!” He shouted upstairs at her. Hand would place the boar meat he fried into a flour dumpling. It was going to be sort of like a pork cutlet minced into a bun he was trying desperately to make. He was dressed differently today. He was dressed like a normal young man. No armor or anything of the sort. It was a normal light blue t shirt with a pair of shorts he had commissioned to wear. A normal Kiluia was seen moving around. @Haine

Was she going overboard?

Haine sat in front of the mirror, boring holes into her reflection. Her polar bear sat in her lap, dozing off. In each hand she held a ribbon, holding them against her hair to scrutinize them. She threw her hands in the air in defeat, rousing the cub from his sleep. He yawned and looked up at his owner with droopy eyes. "Oh I'm sorry Mees." She sighed and stroked his soft fur. "Which one do you like better bud?" She set him on the vanity and pursed her lips. Of course the animal couldn't understand, but he seemed gravitated to the soft pink ribbon. "Fine, that one'll do." She grabbed the ribbon and tied her hair into a ponytail.

She stood up from the leather seat and did a once over of her attire. She donned a white frock, decorated with soft floral pink patterns. Accompanying it was a simple heart shaped pendant. She slipped on a pair of comfortable white wedges. "What'd'ya think? Too much?" She spun around, the frills of her dress fluttering. She tilted her head and placed a finger on her chin. Looking into her reflection, she saw a side of herself that had gone dormant in this world. The bluenette loved fashion, she would spend time adorning herself in the world before. The weight of this world changed her priorities, she could not remember the last time she set out in such feminine attire. It was the simple joy this world had robbed her of.

She pushed her locks behind her shoulder and headed down the staircase. On the way to the kitchen, a delightful symphony of aromas invaded her senses. She salivated on cue, her cub following by her foot. She clasped a hand over her mouth as she approached the kitchen, taking in all the delights in front of her. "Oh love, you didn't have to do all of this!" She moved behind him and snaked her arms around his waist. She leaned her cheek against his back and squeezed him tight.  She peeked out from his side and looked at the stove he was working on. "Sooo... what'cha doin?"

The honey aroma filled the air leaving her a bit of surprise as to what he was making. The food sat on a plate after he had briefly fried the croquette. After he set the croquette to cool down, he felt her arms wrap around his waist and her body on his. A light rosy blush flushed on his face as he looked down at her slightly with a smile. The sauce was simmering on the stove and his voice was soon heard. “I am making minced meat boar croquettes with a sauce that I have been testing out since I got my license.” He glanced at her. If she looked carefully, it resembled honey but not as thick.

Pingu was walking around the kitchen with her arms grabbing onto certain things and moving them to the sink. The penguin was just helping him clear the area that had dirty dishes. She had been taught to clean as he went with the cooking. She was rewarded with a cookie for every dish she brought over. He spoke to her in a soft tone. “I promised you a date at the beach. So I hope you brought your swim suit so we can enjoy ourselves.”

By the countertop with the basket sat a little box with assorted goods. This was their reward for their hard work. The only thing about the dishes he made were that they had no real buff to them to help them. They were there to eat and enjoy. He would have to work hard at his café when he was able to work on it soon. Materials should be coming in for him but it mattered not. He would just enjoy his time with his beloved. “So tell me, do you want some of what’s in the box?”

At the sight of all this food, Haine felt like the luckiest woman alive. She could only dream of cooking this well. Kiluia worked at the pan with the skill of a blooming chef. She pulled away and clasped her hands together. The croquettes were fresh off the pan, the steamy vapor beckoning her. She clutched her stomach as it growled. "Whoops!" A slight blush crept her cheeks as hit her stomach. It did little to quell the noise. "Those look dreamy..." she trailed off, her eyes sparkling like the gluttonous soul she is.

She noted the penguin wobbling about the kitchen, stacking plates and putting them away. She was impressed by how quickly she was adapting to her training, she was a far cry from the foolhardy bird she was not too long ago. Haine cooed a little at the sight. At the mention of the beach, Haine's attention perked. She recalled a fit of panic in the bazaar a few days ago in pursuit of a suitable swimsuit.  She felt hyper aware of the swim suit she wore beneath her dress and blushed a little. Bleh, she was doing the thing again. The thing where she thinks too much. She cleared her throat and choked out an awkward 'yep'.

His distraction about the box on the countertop roused her attention. She stood on her tip toes and planted a peck on his lips. She padded over to the box and poked it. "Ooh, what's all of this?" She clapped her hands giddily and leaned close to smell the pastries. Sweet mother of buttery, diabetes goodness... "Can I nab one now?" She tilted her head, her soft hair falling over her shoulder. "It's not lunch yet but..." She shot him her signature puppy eyes.

All of his dishes and equipment were cleaned up by the game mechanics. He slid over to the countertop and placed a hand on top of the box. His eyes met hers with a look. He was playing around by tapping his chin slightly. “I don’t know. These are for the beach…” He teased as he grabbed a checker biscuit for her. It was a baked good of a chocolate and vanilla cookie he had seen in reality. It was a play off of it but none the less, it was still flavorful with its sweetness. He didn’t have anything to compare it to since he had it once in Germany but he wanted to ensure she would get the first bite. He placed the cookie into her mouth and closed the box up. That was all she was getting until they reached the beach. “The rest are for later.” He slipped all of the things into his inventory and turned to her.

Eyes rested on her face as he spoke. “Ready?” He ushered the familiars out the back door and laced their hands together. It was time to leave. The weather was optimal during noon where the rays of the sun would allow the water to reach the height of its warmth. The gate was in sight and they were gone.

Floor 22 was beautiful as described to him. The lakes were within distance and the traveling wasn’t too long. A summer home would be great here for the two. That would have to wait til they were able to afford one. The familiars took off recognizing that a lake meant cooler temperatures and aquatic food for them. “Don’t get lost!” He shouted after them. Their pace was much slower as he walked with her hand in hand. “Well. At least they waited til we got to the floor before running.”

Haine accepted the cookie with an excited hum. She grabbed it and devoured it in record speed. The rich chocolate and sugar combined for a divine texture. "Tho gudd!" She spoke through a mouthful of sweets, her full cheeks puffing. She gave him an okay sign and yet another peck. "Mmm, chef's kiss."

She rounded the counter and picked up the tote bags resting on the dining table. She stored them in her inventory and returned to him, lacing their hands together. "Yep, let's! I haven't been to the beach in so long." She was giddy at the prospect of spending time with her love. They'd always been together, but it wasn't often that they had the time to do things like this. The guild kept them busy, moments like these invigorated her.

Once they'd arrived at the beach, she let go of his hand and clasped her hands over her mouth. "Oh my god it's gorgeous." Her voice was muffled from beneath her palms. She giggled and ran off without him, spinning around as she outstretched her arms. The cool breeze from the lake blew against her her skin, her frock fluttering with the wind. A particularly wild gust of wind blew her skirt up a little and she blushed, about the shade of a fire hydrant. She pushed it down and cleared her throat. "G-Geez it's a little breezy today..." She walked on ahead of him, puffing her cheeks in embarrassment. She wore a bathing suit underneath but still.

The days of him being embarrassed were far from over. However, the days of being together told one thing to him, she was the one. His face didn’t turn red like hers did. His eyes averted slightly but still managed to catch a glimpse. He was indeed still a young man full of vibrant life. He was still behind them all tailing since the lake wasn’t too far off. The path slowly transformed from dirt to sand over time as they headed in the direction of the lake. Adventurers moved in packs together but it wasn’t too awfully crowded. Amber eyes would survey the area ahead in hopes of finding a place to sit ahead of time. It was then he spotted Pingu and the cub. The cub was sitting on the penguins back as  she slid on her belly down the sand. It was quite an interesting sight to see. A grin spread across his face as he ran now to catch up.

The sand was beautiful that shimmered as they walked on it like glitter. The water was a crisp blue with waves coming and going across the beach front. There the familiars were already in the water making a scene and Kiluia purchased a rental umbrella in the meantime. He would stab the umbrella into the ground and spin in to keep it in place. Next, he set out a towel for them and looked at her. “Go ahead, love.” He opened up his HUD and soon his clothing was nothing but a pair of beach trunks that were black and white. He glanced over at her and sat placed their basket on top of the blanket.

The beautiful scenery became increasingly stunning as the dirt transitioned into sand, the breeze growing thicker as they neared the direction of the lake. It was a good day to be out, the crowds moderately sized near the town. It meant they could find a spot for themselves a little easier today. She hadn't realized the familiars ran off till she saw them sliding in the sand. It was a comical sight to see the cub catching a free ride on the penguin. The two familiars had spent so much time together that they'd finally come to equal terms, befriending each other. She all but shed a tear seeing that the two of them had finally liked each other. They seldom bickered anymore outside of some friendly rivalry.

The sand was all but a soft beige, sparkling under the sun's rays. She looked to her left and took in the sight of the lake. Its deep blue was entrancing, it lured her sight towards it and she would stare in awe for a while. She left the familiars to play in the water and followed Kiluia to the rental stand. They found an isolated spot on the beach and staked their claim on the territory, sinking the umbrella into the soft sand. Kiluia set down the towel and basket and ushered her over. She nodded and swiped through her HUD.

She was unaccustomed to exposing this much skin. She swiped through her HUD and unequipped her cover, revealing a trilly soft pink tankini. She was never one to go for bold looks, she preferred the cuter styles. She figured it was a balanced look, nothing too revealing and a far cry from grandma Dorothy. She adjusted the hem of her swimsuit and settled onto the blanket beside her love. She was a lady, she swore, right as her eyes roamed his figure for a split second. She couldn't help it, she was not used to seeing Kiluia's physique with all the battle garb he usually wore.

She averted her gaze before she could be caught red-handed and faced the lake instead. The view was breathtaking, the waves lapping in tandem. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes, enjoying the tranquil moment of silence. With an exhale, she opened her eyes and brought her knees to her chest.

"I'm glad we came here. I miss relaxing like this."

The tankini as they called it, fit her personality right on. Her choice in color was what he had guessed. She looked good in it, like he thought. The bizarre sight of the two familiars was endearing due to the fact that the pair seemed extremely friendly but only due to the water being colder than that damn hot spring they went to. The wind blew gently as they both sat under their umbrella. Without the sun, the wind was just slightly chillier than siting in the sun if they decided to bask in it. Her averted gaze from him caused him to panic a bit. Was it because he was just trunks? He didn’t like wearing a t shirt when swimming.

He sat beside her with a gaze out to the open water. His hand raised up slightly to play with her long hair and brushed it aside without really looking. It was a sign of affection. Her silky hair was smooth between her fingers as he spoke “Did I… do something wrong?” His eyes were still transfixed out on the lake watching the waves get bigger from out in the lake. The cub and the penguin wiped out. Despite being able to be great aquatic hunters, they still ate that large wave and was sent spiraling. The penguin submerged but you could hear the cub whine and then nothing as it landed in the shallow end of the water. It was an amusing sight to see if he had ever seen one.

His question caught her off guard. Haine snaked her fingers around his wrist, bringing their hands down to lace her fingers with his. She tilted her head and returned her gaze to him. She focused her attention on his face, by some miracle. "No, why would you think that love?" She shook her head. She leaned closer and planted a chaste kiss on his lips. "You've outdone yourself. All of this food and the beach?" She tilted her head and closed her eyes, the edges of them crinkling as she smiled. She scooted closer to him and leaned her head against his chest. The proximity left her flushing a little with the awareness that he was shirtless.

"I'm the luckiest girl alive, I'm glad we could spend time together."

A part of her mind silently prayed that those two familiars frolicking in the water wouldn't meddle too much. They were akin to children, getting between the couple or causing mayhem without meaning to. She watched with slight amusement as the duo were both wiped out by a larger wave. She didn't worry about it, they'd survive. After all, they were made for the water.

The world seemed to melt around him as the two kissed. Seclusion and a beautiful scene intensified the moment for him. Her face came into view once again with the background melting away against her fair visage. He blinked several times before answering her. “You weren’t looking… at me. So I thought maybe I did… something to upset you.” He leaned back slightly from her as the background started to focus in. He wanted her to have a relaxing day with him before they had to go back into the world again to try to fix their lives.

The wind blew slightly moving his hair wildly before subsiding. A grin formed on his features and he pressed his hand on her hand. His eyes were only removed from her to watch the cub put the penguin in the water and hold her there. They halted from their sliding movements and the cub was heavy. Pingu flailed slightly at the pressure before causing the cub to go flying a bit into the water. It was never a dull moment. He leaned against her watching the water and hearing the waves moving. It may of not been the ocean but it was still beautiful to watch. Their skin caressed the others and the world was just the four of them. “I think I’ll go swimming in a bit. Lets stay like this a bit more.”

The moment of silence they shared in each other's arms was enough to subside a bit of her nerves. It was a little amusing how she could be embarrassed about some things, the two had been a couple for a while, living together. There was still a bit of the honeymoon effect on Haine, the raging hormones typical of any teenager coursing through her. She didn't want to give him the wrong idea with her awkwardness. She traced her fingertips atop Kiluia's hand, giggling as she saw the familiars in their element. They loved the cooler waters, forgiving in comparison to the scalding demon's spew they'd run into this week. The cub had spotted an odd looking trinket floating in the water, Pingu rushing in to nab it for him. The two would bicker over it in some grand cartoony display.

The mention of swimming roused Haine's concern. The young man had mentioned the reason why he did not like the water. "Are you sure you wanna?" She picked her head off his chest and turned to face him, placing her hands on his shoulders. "I know you don't like the water." She put a finger to her chin. "Why don't we make a sand castle instead? We're never too old to make one." She brushed his bangs.

The familiars were classic entertainment whenever he had nothing to do. This was better than TV to him. For a moment, he thought about what would happen if they cleared the game and those two vanished. His brain started to grind as he had to get them somehow to be brought into their world. Probably a copy because they were their familiars. He looked over at her and then down to his hand where she was tracing and outline on his hand. Her question was heard next and he paused.

Several minutes passed before he pulled her hand to his lips and smiled. “I’m okay. It’s the lake and I’m with you. I don’t mind it since I’m older now.” He did look at the pretty untouched sand though. There were some others playing but no where near them. He soon nodded to her getting up slowly. Body was away from the umbrella and he turned to extend a hand to her. “That’s fine. We can make castles and such. But do you mind if we stay the night here? I’ll get a two bed cabin for us to hang out in. “ They’d be in the same room but that was okay. He seemed to be out of his honeymoon phase and was just pure bliss for the young man.

"Okay." She nodded and looked back to the lake. Haine, in all ways, was the epitome of a fish in the water. Her well-off family could afford a built-in swimming pool, and in there she would spend her childhood exercising with Ruri. Beach trips were their favorite past time, collecting sea shells together, getting lost in the waves and screaming for help. Coming back to the water for the first time in forever brought back a wave of nostalgia and yearning for the past. She brushed away those thoughts to focus on the present, the moment that the couple would share.

"Sure, why not?" She accepted his hand and stood up on her feet. Stepping out from under the shade of the umbrella, the sun's bright rays hit her. The warmth of the rays felt comforting in contrast to the cool shade. She arched her back and stretched. "Sooo... sand castles or swimming first?" She circled around him and wrapped her arms around his waist. She rested her cheek against his back and squeezed tight, affectionately. "You pick."

Her sweet touches were electrifying. What would be the mood here? Sandcastles or swimming? He turned around slowly and picked her up for where she was. She was as light as feather to him. He pulled her up against his chest and headed to the water. This was unconventional, especially this man. He had to try to spice it up at least right? Soon his body was met with the cold water and was walking into it with her clutched against his chest. “If you haven’t guessed by now…” His voiced trailed as he moved deeper and deeper until the water touched her feet and then to her butt. A slick grin was on his face as he was about to start to speak. What prevented him from speaking was the incoming penguin that seemed to enjoy herself sliding on top of the water with the cub. Unfortunately, they came crashing into the two knocking their masters over.

He held onto her tightly but had taken a deep breath right before he was knocked into the water. Eyes were open as he watched the underwater life in the crisp clear blue water. It was nothing like this anywhere in the real world. This was definitely magical for the most part.

Haine squeaked as Kiluia swept her into his arms. His larger frame dwarfed hers, she flailed for a moment. With her head pressed against his chest, she didn't look behind her until the cold water touched her skin. He slowly backed them into the waves, the cool liquid sending a chill up her spine. She jumped against him and squeaked. "G-Gah! Heckin' cold!" Her teeth chattered a little and she squeezed him tighter. She was too enveloped in the moment to pay heed to the approaching ruckus. Pingu came plummeting forward on the waves, the cub flinged off her back and fell straight on Haine's rear. The impact pushed her to the side and submerged her underwater. She caught a glimpse of the entrancing blue waves and the creatures within in their habitat.

It was a sight to behold, but in the midst of the spontanteous situation she resurfaced with a gasp. She was soaked with the little cub in her arms as she let out a gasp. The gasp transitioned into a giggle. "What the actual heck?" She looked at the cub in her arms.

Ruined moment. He was happy as a clam until that happened. Having her against his body was a dream come true! Okay. Calm down. No need to be a boy. Good thing that the he wasn’t as easily excited like he was when they were younger. He swam and breached the surface looking at the dynamic duo and Pingu floating away toward the center of the lake. He was going to go after her but he knew that was deeper waters. He frowned slightly as he was by Haine and body made its way behind her. He floated behind and then against her. She was acting like his floatie, but he’d never tell her that. Oh no. You never tell your significant other they are a floatie.  He pressed his chin on her head and looked ahead. It was amusing to him how he could still be this tall in the water against her.

“They are just having fun…” He scowled at the penguin. She would pay later with her meal. Or so he threatened majority of the time. The cub just kept is eyes averted knowing full well it ha done some thing wrong. Arms draped themselves over her shoulders as he the incoming waves hit against them.” Water isn’t too bad today.”

The moment was serene. Time seemed to stop as she emerged from the waves with a giggle. The cub cradled in her arms kicked off her chest, demanding escape. With a great splash, the pudgy thing swam off to reunite with his pseudo sibling. Haine glanced at the horizon, the sun's rays reflecting off the cool blue. Warm breeze brushed against cool drops of water, a slight chill coursing through her. She was caught off guard by Kiluia's body pressed against hers. She jumped a little, then craned her head to plant a kiss on his jaw. A moment of silence transcended as they watched the two familiars at play, it was moments like these that made her feel alive. All of the duty and hustle made her neglect that she was still a young woman who missed the simplicities of life.

She brought her fingers up to carress his and paused. Unceremoniously, an idea came to her.  There was a small mass of land on the deeper, wilder side of the lake. "Ooo, what's that?" Amber eyes lit up with an all too familiar zeal to explore. She didn't leave room for him to protest, her head dipping beneath the waves as she made a beeline for the area. The animals, on alert, followed suit. To travel into unstable waters would make her an idiot, and an idiot she was.

A little dot emerged from the waters as she gasped. "Woo! It's wild over here!" A particularly forceful wave pushed her head under the water and she gasped.

The kisses were welcomed and so was her touch. It was nice being free and away from doing certain things. His own amber eyes followed suit after her but he made no real movement. The waves that were crashing around her were a little bit more violent than he would prefer. He could swim but he was not particularly strong about doing so. A frown slightly curved on his lips as he watched floating in the less active side of the water. “Don’t go too far out.” He was worried. He moved slowly as his footing was now gone.

The penguin was zooming around in the water. It had yet to be free since it was running wild inside their home. She was not fond of the desert. She was not fond of the jungle minus the house. She hated the forest that had things that could eat her. Water. It was her life. She jumped up and above the water and then back into it diving in. “Haine. I don’t know if that’s stable for anyone to stand on.”

His pleas fell on deaf ears. The turbulence of the waves renewed her determination to explore beyond the safe threshold. The shitty penguin was teasing her, riding the waves in her element. Her fluffy butt reached the little island and sat on top of it, fanning her soaked feathers. Haine narrowed her eyes and sputtered as another wave crashed into her. She surfaced with a gasp and decided she valued her life a little more than that dumb island. She frowned and dove underneath the crashing source of annoyance, making her way back to her love.

She puffed her cheeks in disappointment and lingered near the shore.

The cub circled the couple like a shark, forever a pest. After a moment of chit chit, another brilliant idea came to mind. What good was a day at the beach if you couldn't wage war over something? "Brace for my special attack!" She unceremoniously splashed at him and blew a raspberry.
