Okay, thanks to the purchases and help that she got, she was now ready to go and try to find herself a familiar. She had a game plan on what she was going to do, and she was determined to do that game plan. First, it was to find herself a familiar, then to train it, then officially become a merchant. She knew the kind of animal that she wanted to befriend too, she had always been a fan of foxes.

In particular, she has always adored the silver fox, it was just so majestic to her, and well, she was ready to try and tame one today. She just needed to go out and actually find it. She stopped at the gate and looked around. She knew that there was a NPC that usually walked around that should be able to give her the rest of what she needed to do this quest. Soon, the old gypsy walked up to Dynasty, and she offered the NPC a huge smile.

"You look ready to tame yourself a monster, much like I have." "Yes please, I'd love to have a companion like yours." The old gypsy smiled as she handed Dynasty the food. "Then venture out and find one. Once you have, please bring me back my food." "Yes ma'am." Dynasty pocketed the food before she walked out of the gates of town, and stopped for a moment to use the phermone balm that she had bought from Bistro.

Venture out and find one, why did that always sound easier said than done? Her parents had told her the same thing when she talked about finding a job after graduation, and yet finding that job was still difficult. She brushed those thoughts to the side as she walked the fields of the first floor. She had never actually ventured out of the safe zone until now, so she was finding it a little interesting. It just meant that she was exploring, and finally feeling like she should about her role in this game.

She wasn't just some caretaker for the town, no, she was someone who could fight and defend. Someone who could make a difference and help in making sure that the frontline had all the help that they needed. Or, perhaps she would stay off of the front lines and help the lower leveled people instead. That might make better use of her skills.

She was content with walking and looking to see what it was that she might be able to find, when she heard a howl not too far from herself. She stopped in her tracks and looked for the source of the howl, only to see a lone wolf staring at her. This was definitely not a tamable pet, and with how it was looking at her, it wanted to make her breakfast. So, she decided to act faster than the wolf.

Unsheathing her sword quickly, and charged the wolf and stabbed it right on the left side. She watched as a small amount of health left the wolf's bar, but because of how close she was, she was able to see it rearing to attack back. This worked in her favor because she was able to side step just in time to dodge the attack perfectly. For her first attack on something in the game since she joined it, she felt like she could do no wrong.

She knew better than to get too confident though, she knew how that could affect how things are done combat wise. She had learned that lesson a long time ago. Just the mere flashback of her time in a different MMO to where she failed as a tank because she got overconfident. It made her shake her head at herself before she focused back on the wolf at hand. But, one lesson that she hadn't learned until just now, was to never get too lost in her thoughts.

Apparently, the wolf had been studying her, while she thought, so when she went to hit it again, the wolf dodged at the last moment, making Dynasty hit a tree instead. She grumbled and was working on pulling her sword from the tree when she was hit from the side. While she took minimal damage, she watched as the wolf died from the thorns enhancement on her shield. She could get used to that enhancement. She closed out the loot window and commenced to pulling her sword from the tree again.

One final pull and finally her sword was free of the tree. Now, she knew that she had some power behind that swing, but she hadn't expected it to be that powerful honestly. But, no harm no foul. Her health was already back to full and her energy was almost back to full as well. She would take it slow right now, and just see if there was something around that might make a good pet. But, she still had a feeling that she wasn't far enough in the fields to be able to do that yet, so she just sheathed her sword.

Okay, so don't get lost in thoughts while fighting, that's a good thing to learn this early one. Apparently these monsters learn. Now, that was a scary thought as she thought it, but it was something that she needed to know, and now she did. She honestly thought that the faster she found, tamed, and trained this familiar, the safer that she would be.

Once she was certain that she wasn't about to be attacked out in the open again right away, she started to move again. She did start to think about those who were safe in the town, and she was happy about that. But it was the ones who wanted to venture out that she was worried about. She wanted to be able to help any and all who needed it, she just needed to get stronger herself. That was something that she didn't mind having to do.

By getting stronger, that meant that she was being useful, and being useful was a good thing really. The only thing that she didn't like about MMOs like this, was the grind to get up to a useful level. She knew that she had a lot of quests that she could do, and well, she'd happily do them. But there was just the question of how long would it take her to do them on her own just to be able to help others.

She stopped dead in her tracks after walking for a bit. There were two boars in front of her, and there was a serious question on if she would be able to pass by them unnoticed. But that thought was gone the moment the first one turned around and stared her down. Dynasty wasted no time in charging the boar, her sword already in hand as she slashed at its legs. She watched some of it's health vanish, but she was too close to it, and thus was unable to dodge the attack that came in turn.

She staggered back a few steps from the headbutt before she noticed that the second boar had turned around and was charging for her now. Quickly, she ran to the side, just in time to avoid getting hit a second time. This fight might prove to be a bit of a problem with her against them both, but, she would try until she knew that she wasn't going to be able to win.

She had this, she just knew it. All she had to do was stay alive and kill things. It really shouldn't be that hard, right? Boy was she wrong. Just as she thought she had her footing to be able to make her next attack, she faltered because of a rock. And then, as if in slow motion, she watched as both boars charged her at the same time. If someone were to be looking from the outside in, they'd see Dynasty curse as she tried to move, only to get hit by the first boar.

There went a chunk of her health. Then came the second hit, and she felt winded. Not only because she just took two critical hits to the chest, but because she felt her life sliding from her fingers. She knew that she wasn't going to be able to win this, at least, not in this state.

Bottoms up. She quickly grabbed one of her started potions from her inventory and drank it. She felt her strength come back, and she watched as her health bar filled to full. Good. That was a good sign for her, because now she wasn't going to die, at least, not at this moment. There was still time in this fight after all now. She knew how hard they could hit, especially if they hit her at the same time like that.

So, she kept a close eye on both of the boars, easily being able to see both of them charging her. Since she felt whole and strong, she was able to easily move out of the way of both attacks, making her feel a little better about her chances of getting out of this fight. She wasn't going to let her death come by two boars though, and if it did, she was going to take them down with her.

She knew what she had to do, but there was one minor flaw to her plan, she had absolutely no accuracy to help her hit things. Perhaps that should be the next thing that she gets, because this constant missing thing was going to get really annoying soon. She would look into that, possibly get herself a trinket or something. But for now, she needed to keep her focus on these two boars.

Just as she started to charge the first boar, she watched as it narrowly dodged her attack, but it tripped over its own hooves, causing it to fall over, unable to attack her. That's fine, it just meant that she didn't need to worry about getting hit again right now. Instead, she looked at the second boar, and moved further away from them both to dodge the other attack. She was starting to feel like she was playing some messed up version of Russian Roulette, and she wasn't enjoying it.

Time for more Russian Roulette, only she was determined to hit something this time. Of course, as she charged the first boar in an attempt to hit it, only to miss once more. This boar was apparently faster than she thought, but she was at least fast enough to make it so that both of the boars ran head first into the tree that was behind her. Wait, when did she enter a forest? She looked around while the two boars were trying to gather their own bearings once more.

She really hadn't noticed that the treeline had gotten thicker. So this was certainly something that she hadn't been expecting to happen today, let alone right now. She couldn't let that distract her though, knowing that these boars had a habit of missing and then hitting her once more. She really didn't feel like taking another headbutt to the shin after all.

Maybe she might hit something again? Maybe. Please. Yes? Nope. A big fat nope. She missed, by a margin again too. That boar seems to be slippery, maybe she should think about switching targets? That might get her some better luck? Just as she was thinking that though, she felt an impact hit her in the lower back, and she watched as her health dropped. Ouch, that hurt, and she didn't like it. Just as she started to move to get away from the boars, she felt another hit.

Only this one was in her right shin, and it hurt like hell. She sucked in air through clenched teeth as she looked at the pair of boars. She needed to run away, there was no way that she'd be beating this fight by herself at this point. So she just needed to get away. But finding the opportunity to do so was the hard part.

There! That was her opening. She noticed that both of the boars seemed to be slowing down. Perhaps they've headbutted one too many things. Either way, she took that as an advantage, and she sheathed her sword, quickly turning and running out of the forest. She didn't want to be there anymore, at all. She didn't stop running though until she knew that she was safe from the boars being able to find her again.

Once she was certain that she was far enough away, she slowed down to a walk. She was happy to be away from the fight, not wanting to have to deal with that anymore really. She didn't know what exactly she was expecting to have happened from that fight, but it was done and over with now at least. She still couldn't believe her luck in hitting the things though, that was just unreal in her mind. She's never missed that often before.

She spotted a rock that would make a great resting spot for the time being, and she walked over to it. Those two boars had both managed to hit her for another pair of criticals before she had been able to leave, and that hurt like hell. Of course, it wasn't like the first time she got hit by double criticals by them, but still, it was the hit that counted. She climbed onto the rock to sit down for a moment, happy to be able to be off of her feet for the time being.

How she could be so winded after this, she didn't know, but she was. Perhaps it was because she hadn't exactly done anything since the game launched. That would make sense really. It just still sucked that she had gotten so rusty because she had wanted to stay in the Town of Beginnings and help others out.

Dynasty searches for a familiar and is unsuccessful!

Spoiler

While sitting on her rock, she took a good look around. She wanted to see if she could find any semblance of that fox that she wanted. But, all she saw was a bear, a wolf, and a boar. All of them were thankfully ignoring her, so she didn't need to worry about being attacked right now. She actually wondered if any of them noticed her at all, but judging by the fact that she was alone and sitting on this rock, she doubted that they have noticed her.

After the three animals have left, she finally got off of her rock and she started to walk once more. Since she didn't find anything here, perhaps she should try looking in a different area instead. Of course, this was just pure speculation, she was just trying to figure out where this little fox could be. She just wanted that companion after all.

There didn't seem to be anything near her just yet, and she didn't mind that. It was just another moment for her to feel safe and feel like she could catch her breath and breathe freely. Of course, she hadn't found any sign of the familiar that she is looking for, but the day was still young, so anything was possible right now. She just really hoped though that she wasn't about to spend all day and night doing this quest, because that would actually suck a bit.

At the same time, it was going to make her stronger, right? She shrugged as she continued to walk away from the forest. She knew that foxes could be found in the forest, but she wasn't in the mood to be ambushed by multiple monsters again. Obviously, she was unable to handle that right now, and she was going to have to work on that for sure.

As she walked, she felt like she was being watched. This feeling made her sigh as she unsheathed her sword and turned around, to see that a wolf had been stalking her. She didn't feel like letting it hit her first though, so she lunged for it, stabbing her sword into it's side. She watched its health drop, and felt a little better about things after that last fight she had been in. This one was at least already going better.

While she had been getting ready to right herself to move, the wolf lunged for her, but she saw it just in time to be able to side step out of the way. This worked in her favor, as she watched the wolf's attack hit the ground where she had been previously standing. That worked for now, because it meant that she had the ability to move and get ready for her next attack, and hopefully next dodge.

The wolf was back on its feet and how it wanted to be, but not how Dynasty wanted it to be. She wanted it to be dead, but no, it was ready to fight still. So, she stabbed the wolf in the side again, and watched as its health dropped into the red. That was good, it was almost dead, which meant that this fight was almost over. All she had to do was manage to stay alive and not get killed.

Of course, that was easier said than done. She tried to dodge the attack from the wolf, but instead, it bit at her leg. She kicked the wolf off of her leg, and she glared at it. This wolf was now on the top of her most hated list, and she was going to make sure that it died. She also wanted to then be able to check her leg, to make sure that no true damage had been done. But then, since she barely lost any health, she didn't need to actually do that, did she?

Honestly, she was getting quite tired of these battles taking so damn long because she keeps missing. She really needed to gain some accuracy. This was just proven in full to her as she watched the wolf easily dodge her attack. This was not how she wanted the rest of this battle to go. She just wanted the wolf to die, so that she could get her loot, and be on her way. But no, it had to dodge. She sighed lightly and got ready to dodge an attack in return.

But she never got that chance, for the wolf pounced on her, tackling her to the ground before it bit her arm as she protected her face. "Damn it!" She cursed more under her breath as she moved her shield between herself and the wolf, pushing the wolf off of herself. Slowly, she rolled back to her feet and she glared at the wolf. This battle was going as poorly as the last one, and she wasn't happy about that.

Okay, she was back on her feet and standing upright, ignoring the pain that was currently settling in her arm. That would be dealt with as she heals once out of battle. Okay, one or two more hits and this wolf should be dead, at least, that was what she was hoping for. She moved forward to stab the wolf in the side again, and she hit this time. Yay! She watched as the health for the wolf fell, only to stop with one point left. She just stared, not wanting to believe that that was how this round was ending right now.

The moment that she broke herself out of her disbelief, she quickly moved in time to avoid the wolf's next attack. She grumbled something about the system being unfair, but it was whatever at this point. She just moved so that she could get a better view of the wolf, ready to see how this fight was about to end.
