[PP-F6] To Catch a Carbuncle (Keith, Ruri)

Keith was walking through the grassy trial of the forested region on Floor 6. He was on a nature walk, hoping to see any rare monsters, yet he had no such luck. He had a familiar once, but it was gone now, thanks to Vile. Then, in the corner of his eye, he saw a red flash. Keith stopped in his tracks, seeing a small purple cat-like creature jump away. Keith quickly sent a message to his little sister, telling her to get to him ASAP.

She had been walking in the grassy fields of floor 1. Seeing the message pop up saying that Keith needed her ASAP. She had automatically crushed a teleport crystal, "Teleport Floor 6!" She spoke as a white light had consumed her. Now walking out of the teleport gate of floor 6 as she saw Keith on her map walking towards his location as she met him. "Trying to get a new familiar, huh?" She grinned, her dark furred wolf following behind her.

Keith looked over his shoulder and smiled, seeing his younger sister had arrived. He was crouched behind a bush, pulling Ruri behind it as well. Shhh... We need to be vawy quiet..." He looked over the bush, seeing the Carbuncle sniffing a piece of Cake Keith had left out. "C'mon... Take the bait..." The Carbuncle then stuck it's tounge out, and pushed the cake aside, running off again. "Gah! After it!" Keith said, leaping over the bush and running after it.

She saw the cat looking animal run away she grinned attempting to catch it, yet failing as she followed Keith. "HAZAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW" She chanted while attempting to run after the poor familiar.

Keith cringded at the noise Ruri made, but he was sure it was nothing. It definitely wouldn't come up later in life. Keith saw the Carbuncle hope up on potrusions on a stoney ledge, reaching the top of the slope and sticking toungue out at them again. "Ruri! We gotta get up there!" Keith said, trying to climb.

"JASPER!" She had said out-of-the-blue as she had somehow nicknamed the creature attempting to continue the crazy adventure they were having. "What is this creature anyway?" She had asked not really knowing what a Carbuncle was.

Keith looked to Ruri as he fell off the cliff, while the Carbuncle above stuck it's toungue and shook it's bottom at him. Keith then spoke. "Well, Carbuncles are mythical creatures from Greece. They are said to be very rare and only found in wooded areas. They always have a different type of jewel on their head and tail. Carbuncles are also known to be tricky, energetic, and full of spunk. Seems like a perfect fit, am I right?" keith said, smirking as he tried climbing again.

Ruri grinned at the idea of such creatures, following Keith and beginning to climb once more. "Are they well-known creatures?" She asked Keith as she hadn't known much about a Carbuncle but she was such if Keith knew about it there was a group somewhere researching about the mythical creatures.

Keith sighed and shook his head. "Sadly, no. They aren't very popular creatures. Heck, I'm even surprised they're here in SAO. But I always did like the little things, see each one has a different kind of gemsone. And judging by the tail on the butt being shaked at us, I would say this one is a <>."

She saw the glittering ruby on the carbuncle creature once more, attempting to pounce on the creature yet it ran out of boundaries of her arms. She sighed in awe as the creature shook his tale and once more ran off at a fast speed. She got up for a moment, "W-We need to set a t-trap.." She had managed to stutter out.

Keith was eating the cake they left out and he nodded slowly. "Yuf... Weh nee to seh a twap..." He said with a full mouth, then swallowing and taking a breath. "But the question is, how do we? Do you have something in mind, little sis?" he asked, questioning her mentality after the Hazah Mew.

"I dunno, a net of some sort? We could use cake as bait..." She thought about traps for a moment trying to figure out a way to have the Carbuncle caught... Now at the fast speeds it could hit it seemed like the the roadrunner.

Keith looked at the cake crumbs in his hand and then looked around. "Oh. Er. Yeah, bait..." He said, fumbling through his inventory for what he could use as bait, thankfully, there was more cake. Keith was a smart packer. "Where do we get a net?"

[Ruri 0]

"Well maybe he will come with that... lets try it out.." Ruri said as she backed up and hid behind a nearby bush keeping her eyes on lookout on the bait knowing that the familiar would come sooner and later hopefully then they could catch it.

Keith was behind the bush as well, peaking over he looked around. He watched the Carbuncle walk around and then climb into some sort of shed, curling into a ball on the window sill and slowing it's breathing, as it started to drift to sleep. "Hey, maybe something in that shed can help us catch it while it's sleeping!"

[Ruri 0]

"Okay! Sounds like an Idea!" Ruri said with a small smirk. "But we've got to be vewwy quiet.." She spoke again with a small smile spread across her face. She knew if they made a single movement to wake it up that it would be 10 times harder to catch it.

"We're unting cawbuncles..." Keith whispered back, sounding like the hunter from Bugs Bunny. Keith slowly opened the door to the shed, looking around and seeing all sorts of bait for different animals. Along with nets. This must have been a trapper's shed at one point. Keith looked through buckets of food for each animal of the woods and founf one with a little shap of a carbuncle on it. The bucket, was filled to the brim with rubies. "...This is one expensive pet to feed..." he said, taking a handful.

Ruri giggled at the rubies, taking a handful as well taking a net too. Putting it in her inventory and sneaking out of the shed ready to set up the trap for the carbuncle as soon as possible. "Lets do this!" Ruri giggled before putting her fist into the air and jumping hyperly after it. Putting a ruby on the ground, and a net above it hoping that the trap would somehow work.

Keith picked up a rock and dove behind a bush, pulling Ruri along with him. He then chucked the rock and the Carbuncle's ears twitched as the stone hit the wall of the shed. It yawned and looked around, seeing the rubies in the net, it walked over and picked up one of the rubies in it's mouth, nibbling on the precious stone.

She cut the rope beside her bringing the net down from the treetops closing her eyes and hoping that the small carbuncle was caught. "Did we catch it..?" She spoke softly unsure if she set the trap correctly.
