Mortambo 0 Posted July 23, 2014 #1 Report Share Posted July 23, 2014 Mort wandered aimlessly towards the Starting City gates trying to get a plan of action together. He finally shook his head "No way, man, you're over thinking this. You're level 1! First, level, then plan. Let's go find that Boar again." He started heading more purposefully for the gates, taking his time enjoying the scenery. "This game is seriously amazing. Although I've got to stop thinking of it like a game if I could die here. How did they even code this? It's fascinating!" he thought to himself as he arrived at the gates to the outside of the city. "All right, world, here I come!" He stopped far enough away to keep it in view but not get it's attention and took a few test swings with his sword. "It's a different way of fighting with this complete immersion in the game, I better be extra careful until I get the hang of it" he thought to himself. "I'm not even really sure how to use any of my skills yet..." "No time like the present to get a little practice in, though! Hey! Boar! I'm coming for you!" Combat begins! Mort rushes at the boar and hacks at it wildly. Mortambo (5/5) Battle Dice: 6 Mortambo scores a solid hit to the Boar's rib cage! 2 damage to the Boar! Grinning at his success he spins around to see the Boar already charging full tilt after him. The Boar squeals in anger and pain as it bears down on him. As a desperate reaction, Mort throws himself to side to get out of the way of the rushing Boar. Mortambo 0 Posted July 23, 2014 Author #4 Report Share Posted July 23, 2014 Mort cries out as the Boar slices open his arm, but quickly realizes he doesn't feel the pain. "Well that's certainly interesting." He watches his health drop with worry. "But this isn't as easy as I thought." He warily circles the Boar trying to find an opening. The Boar huffs and then squeals and charges him again. "If I wait, I should be able to get a clear shot from the side" he thinks to himself. At the last second, he tries dodging to the side and pulls his sword back to slash the boar. Feeling something take him over, his sword starts to glow as the System guides him through the basic Sword Manuever <>. Mortambo(4/5) Battle Dice: 6 As Mortambo jumps into the air doing an upward slash, he hits the Boar in the side one final time. Mortambo 0 Posted July 24, 2014 Author #5 Report Share Posted July 24, 2014 Mortambo looks around and not seeing any immediate danger, he sheathes his sword and sits down in the grass to rest. "All in all, that went pretty well. But I know I can do better..." He pulls out a piece of bread and munches on it while waiting for his health to regenerate. Then he stands back up, and looks around. He sees another boar in the distance and starts making his way towards it. Smiling to himself he thinks "This is a LOT of fun." As he approaches it, he yells out a battle cry and tries to get the Boar to rush him like the other one did. "It worked so well once, why not try it again?" The Boar takes the bait and squeals in anger. Then it rushes full tilt at Mortambo who tries to dodge to the side and hit it with an <> like his finishing move on the last Boar. Combat Begins! Mortambo (5/5 -1) Battle DIce: 1 Mortambo stumbles when he dodges to the side and the Boar slashes him in the calf! The Boar does 1 damage to Mortambo! Boar (3/3) Link to post Share on other sites

"Oh, no...I'm not ready this time, he's got me..." Mortambo thinks as the Boar's beady little eyes light up with rage. Time seems to slow, and Mortambo spends an eternity watching the Boar charge and feeling his muscles tensing to get his sword into a defensive stance that will be far too late to defend his body. He winces as the Boar lowers his head to gore him. Mortambo (4/5) Boar(3/3 -1 ) Battle DIce: 1 The Boar trips and somehow manages to slice himself on Mortambo's sword! The Boar takes 1 damage! The Boar squeals and makes it to his feet but before he can Mortambo slashes quickly downward going for a shallow cut to the ribs. The Boar squeals and starts scrambling away from the swinging sword. Mortambo pulls back for another slash and feels that tingle that says he's activated another sword skill. His sword begins to glow and the System dashes him directly forward, delivering a powerful forward slash to the Boar. Mortambo (4/5 -1 ) Battle Dice: 1 As Mortambo dashes forward the Boar turns at the exactly right moment and manages to slash Mort in the chest with one of it's tusks as well as bat his sword away from it's body. Grimly, Mort readies himself and drops into a defensive stance. The Boar squeals and charges, it's eyes red and full of rage. "You're not the only one who wants bloody, Piggy," Mortambo thinks to himself, "one way or another, this fight will end soon!" Mortambo (3/5) Boar (2/3 - 1) Battle Dice: 1 Mortambo manages to block the Boar's thrust with his horns and counter attack with a light slash to the Boar's snout! The Boar takes 1 damage! He draws back and does a <> trying to hit the Boar with a powerful forward slash. He then sidesteps the Boar and follows up with an <>. When he lands, he stumbles back exhausted, holding up his sword in defense, but swaying on his feet. "I'm not sure I can go on like this..." he thinks to himself. Mortambo (3/5) Battle Dice: 10 Mortambo does 4 damage to the Boar with his attack! Boar (1/3 -4) The Boar squeals one last time, and explodes in a shower of blue crystal shards. He lowers staggers to the top of the nearest hill and plops down on the ground. "At least now I can enjoy the sunset without feeling too guilty." He watches the beautiful the birds flying over head and the grass swaying in the wind. "This is seriously the most amazing game I've ever played. I mean, I know I could die, but it is seriously amazing. Obviously, Kayaba Akihiko is a genius. Or rather even more of a genius than anyone thought. I can't help but admire him." Once it is below the horizon, he stands up and brushes himself off. "Well, time to get back to work. I think I can manage one more fight before I go in for the night." The moon comes out and shines brightly enough to see by. "Luckily I'm not in the forest, or I would have to head back." Seeing his chance to sneak up on it, Mort tries to be as quiet as possible. However, he trips over a root and inadvertently curses under his breath which causes the Boar to come on alert and squeal loudly. "Well, that was a bust!" Mortambo says as he pulls his sword back and does a <> at the Boar. Mortambo (5/5) Battle Dice: 6 Mortambo scores a solid downward slash on the Boar! The Boar takes 2 damage! I mean, I suppose it could still kill me, but change it up a little bit guys" Mortambo thinks as he drops into a defensive stance prepared to try and dodge the attack. The Boar lowers it's head and then brings it up to use it's full body weight to overtake Mortambo, and rather than try and dodge Mortambo tries to meet the attack head on. Mortambo (5/5 - 1 ) Boar (1/3) Battle Dice:6 The Boar knocks Mortambo back a few steps and scores a solid hit to his calves. Mortambo takes 1 damage! Link to post Share on other sites

Mortambo thinks "That's more like it, but It still seems just a little too easy. These guys are getting really boring. Hopefully I can hunt bigger game soon." He frowns to himself as sidesteps the Boar and activates <> to finish it off. "Easy as pie." Mortambo sighs to himself. Mortambo (4/5) Battle Dice: 10 Mortambo savagely slashes upwards sending the Boar flying into the air! The Boar takes 4 damage! With that statement he turns and starts to head back towards Starting City. He walks about two steps before he hears an angry squeal behind him. He turns to see a Boar that is about twice as big as the others with coarse jet black hair and tusks nearly as long as his sword. The Boss Hog tosses his head and stamps angrily, before barreling towards Mortambo with no other warning. Mortambo readies himself to do the sidestep to <> maneuver that worked so well on the other Boars. Mortambo (4/5) Battle Dice: 1 Mortambo sidesteps, but his <> doesn't activate and he just stands there as the Boss Hog charges past. Boss Hog (5/5) Link to post Share on other sites

"My, my, you are certainly a much more dangerous opponent than your cousins," Mortambo says. At the sound of his voice, the Boss Hog squeals in anger and charges again. This time Mortambo just tries to get out of the way so he isn't gored on the razor sharp tusks. Mortambo (4/5) Boss Hog (5/5) Battle Dice: 3 Mortambo narrowly sidesteps the charging Hog! The Sonic Leap will close but I'm so afraid that he'll trample me under his hooves. But I can't just keep dodging around and hoping I can score a hit. Eventually he's going to get me." Mort pulls his sword back as the Boss Hog prepares another rush and does a <>, leaping towards the Boss and performing a powerful downward slash. "Man, this kind of a challenging fight really gets the blood pumping!," he thinks as he drops into a defensive stance. The Boss Hog squeals and spins around to face him. Rather than charging the Hog just thrusts forward using his tusks to slash at Mortambo. Mort tries to block the tusks as well as he can while hastily retreating. Mortambo (4/5 - 3) Boss Hog (5/5) Battle Dice: 10 The Boss Hog slips through Mortambo's defenses and gores him for 3 damage! Link to post Share on other sites

I won't!" he screams at the large black Boar in front of him. "I won't let some collection of bits that can't even think for itself end my existence!" In a rage, he does an <> to the Boss Hog's chin.
