[F6-PP] Amazon's Folly (Darius)(Daeron)(Swift)

Recommended Posts

Darius led the way through the dense jungles of Floor 6 from the main settlement of Amazon. His 'followers': Daeron and his friend he invited, Swift. Darius trudged through the jungle, the humidity making the inside of his armor feel like it was a kettle filled with lukewarm soup. The forest canopy was high, and the sun higher, being blocked out by the leaves, but its presence still being known from the easily 80 degree weather in the solid shade of the undergrowth. Undoubtedly, he'd have blisters after they were done because of the intense amount of chafing that was happening from his damp clothes under his armor. The armor itself was Dragon-themed, all spikes and horns; which was now coming back to trouble him as they got caught on low-hanging vines. His dragon-themed sword and shield were also doing him no good, being caught on vines and undergrowth. He grumbled to himself as he led their group, happy that even though his armor made him feel like a walking kettle, it kept out the swarms of parasitic insects that hoarded around any players who entered the jungle, attempting to feast on them.

Daeron arrived at the invitation of Darius, a good friend of his. Seeing he was fully equipped with what seemed like he was ready to tank for a boss fight. Daeron knew he must be boiling within the heavy metal armor he was wearing, which is why he was wearing his Solar Flux Robe, which provided full protection from the heat and fire, meaning it's great for situations like these. Although Daeron didn't have much of anything with him, except for the four healing crystals he's never had to touch for months, and a sword, which was his new blade, Ragnarok. He looked around to find small insects about the area they were at, but none that truly fazed him due to his hair always being in his view, he was practically prepared to ignore any insects that flew past his vision. However, one of the insect had managed to land in Daeron's mouth as he was taking a breath, making him inhale one of the insects. For a few seconds he choked on the insect, until he regained his breath. "Gah! Damn bugs! I didn't mind them until I ate one!" he said as his first sentence to his friend Darius and Swift.

Swift was standing behind Daeron, who was leading her to Darius, who seemed to be a good friend of Daeron's as he wasn't nearly afraid of Daeron, unlike almost all of Aincrad. She watched Daeron inhale the insect, causing her to let out a little giggle. She flicked her white-violet hair behind her shoulders, which went all the way down to her hips. She had managed to speak to a blacksmith before, to reformat her armor from a typical set. She now wore her armor like a two piece set, a breast plate, that was over her clothing, and it looks like an iron jacket, along with a skirt that matched. She had a weapon of her own, that radiated with a purple and black aura, which was named Shadow Caster, a defensive type weapon. She looked over at Darius and curtseyed for him, and greeted him with a standard, "Hello, It's a pleasure to meet you."

Darius would simply nod to Swift, his armor clinking as he did so. The only visible part of Darius' body would be the front of his neck, which was well tanned. His eyes were shrowded in shadows cast by Darius' head always tilted slightly forward, revealing no emotions that Darius might have. He might as well be a walking statue. He inquired not about Swift's name, as Daeron already notified Darius that Swift was tagging along. Unless Daeron introduced Darius, Swift would be left in the dark about Darius' name. He turned his back to them, facing the forest. "We are almost there. The forest grows thicker with every step, meaning we are getting closer to Amazon's Folly," Darius would note in a monotone, emotion dead voice as he continued trudging through the jungle, showing no outward sign of complaint at boiling heat. The trees around would start to ascend higher, foot by foot for every tree they stepped past and the forest seemed to constrict on them, choking out all but the strongest rays of sunlight, leaving the area dark and gloomy as they went deeper in.

Daeron had noticed he had missed his introduction to Darius, but he didn't bother to mention the name, one way or another, they'll find out the name somehow. Daeron followed behind Darius, who left the indents in the ground behind as his armor was a heavy material, and make a loud clanking sound amonst the buzzing of the insects. "So, exactly what is this Amazon's Folly? I've never been there." he said as he scratched the back of his head, and looked around him to see if Swift was still following behind him and Darius.

Swift follows behind the two masculine players, who were both practically better geared up than she was entirely. Swift was bored so she tried to step into each of the footsteps that followed behind both of the players. "If I'm not mistaken I heard that you can fight some good monsters there that hold a good loot share and can actually put up a fight." she said as she began skipping, causing her to sweat even more than she already was.

Darius would continue walking, his armored foot sinking into a mud puddle about six inches. He would look down at it, his face behind his helmet emotionless, pull it out with a 'squelch', and continue walking. "The girl is right. There are tough monsters and good loot. Plenty of exp so we can level for bosses," Darius said in his monotone voice, which sounded hollow in his helmet. The visibility was poor in the gloom. Darius stopped and looked up, the canopy nearly twice as high as the normal trees they saw before. The leaves were such a dark green they almost looked black. Darius nodded to himself, his armor clinking as he did so, and drew his sword from its sheath with his right hand from his left hip. The blade was a deep red, caused by the material it was created from. He stuck it into the soft earth by his feet. "Prepare yourselves," Darius would simply say before inhaling deeply and roaring out into the jungle, using the ability as he did so. His call was answered with silence.

Daeron continued to follow Darius, until he realized his body was going rather deep into the mud. "Yay, I love this place so much." Daeron said sarcastically, as he needed to lift his knees to his chest basically to take a single step. He stopped as Darius stopped, causing him to nearly fall forward into the mud. However, he had managed to stop himself from taking a fall, and stood back up straight. He heard Darius use the <> ability, but the answer to the Howl gave nothing but silence in return. "Nothing... guess we're safe here." he said without thinking about what he had just said.

Swift looked around as she walked through the mud, not caring about getting dirty, well for the most part. The one part she was protecting from the mud below her was her hair, which was maybe a single inch above the mud. "I swear if my hair is messed up, expect me to go crazy on the first enemy we see." she said as she stopped behind Daeron, listening to the <> from Darius with him. She heard Daeron say that they were safe. "Just because it's silence for an answer, that doesn't mean safe. In fact, I'd be more worried right now because NOTHING jumped out at us." she said informing Daeron with a slight amount of sass in her tone.

Darius would slowly look around the forest in front of him. His vision was narrowed by his visor and the vision was already poor, but as an ancient saying going, "A warrior does not have to see, to see." He heard the other two complaining, or bickering. Whichever it was, he did not care. He "Shhhh"ed them and stood in whatever silence they would give him. All he heard was the wind blowing vines and leaves as his armor gave off its dull white glow from its enchantment. He pulled his sword from the mud with his right hand and clenched tightly onto the handhold of his shield with his left. His entire body has started to shimmer a slightly brighter white than what his armor gave off as he activated .

"There is no wind on the forest floor," he said more to himself than the others. Almost on queue, two sets of slanted yellow feline eyes opened in the gloom ahead of them. Behind them were massive bodies that paralled a large bear that were so black they made the dimness look light. The two /Night Panthers/ slinked out of the undergrowth towards them, their steps silent on the mud as their muscular bodies showed off that they had massive speed and ferocity that could be used to compliment their dagger sized claws.

Daeron would have called Darius entirely mental had he not known about the two large felines that had just ambushed them. However, as soon as the two feline enemies had revealed their position, Daeron drew his sword ready for combat. He grew a wide grin on his face. "I love this, barely even done anything, and we're already engaged in combat. I think this is going to be a good day." he said as he ran through the mud, and swinging his weapon at the first of the felines which had the name, <>.

Battle Dice: 3 (0 Damage)

Daeron swung his weapon, however the <> had managed to maneuver past Daeron's attack and back off, looking like it was going to gun for Darius, as he had taunted them with his <> and his <> Ability.

Swift watched as the <>'s had shown up. Watching as the first of the cats had actually dodged Daeron's attack, avoiding a heavy hit, was rather suprising to her. She then ran up behind Daeron, and got ready with her large two-handed sword to swing at one of the <>'s. As her weapon slashed through some of the mud, she hoped it wouldn't slow it down to much, bringing up the slash attack.

Damage: Miss

Result: The attack must have been too slow, as the mud was a rather thick pasture. The <> had once again avoided another attack, and gotten ready to attack Darius, which was where the two <>'s were looking at with their yellow feline eyes.

Night Panther 1 danced away from the attacks of the other two, too fast for them and built for the muddy terrain. It slinked away from Swift and Daeron with it's brethren, eyeing Darius evilly. Night Panther 1 stopped to Darius' right, where it had previously been in front of Darius, where Swift and Daeron now stood. Night Panther 2 circled around to Darius' back, fast and agile, as quiet as a whisper. Night Panther 1 bunched its muscles and sprang at him, a black flash through the air, its claws extended, but Darius had turned with the Night Panther as it circled him. Darius raised his shield to take its pounce, the Night Panther slamming off the hard iron dragon emblem on the front of the shield. and back into the mud where it hissed at him. He hissed back.

As Night Panther 1 was attacking Darius from the front, Night Panther 2 darted in towards Darius' side like black lighting, snarling at him and going to attack his exposed right side with its claws outstretched from its left paw. Luckily, the Panther was swinging at Darius' sword hand side and he was able to react as he just finished blocking the first Panther. Darius stabbed his sword into the mud, holding onto it firmly as the forearm of the Panther's arm hit the flat of his blade, being blocked from going farther and dealing damage to Darius. It backed away from Darius baring its teeth at him as it started to reposition to Darius' left side so each Panther would be on either side of him now.

[A cape that I just got not too long ago just got approved. I didn't include it in the beginning because I didn't want to use it since it wasn't approved. I'm going to go ahead and implement it in. If you guys have any problem with that, just say so and I will edit this.]

Darius had just been able to repel both Panther's attacks. He knew it was sheer luck though. The mud made everything slippery and the footing poor, which would make his blocking bad. He rolled his shoulders, his armor clinking and his Hellfire Drapes flurrying on his back, as he pulled his sword from the mud. He turned to his right, towards Panther 2, which kept darting in and out of the jungle trees. There were so many that it would be hard to maneuver or take overly large strikes as the undergrowth, vines, and trunks threatened to catch their blades. He'd have to stab for the most part, or do a down to up vertical strike, to avoid vines or trunks. He hefted his shield up in front of him and brandished his sword in a ready-to-stab position as he charged towards Panther 2, weaving in and out of the few trees in his way, his greaves squelching through mud, to strike it.

And strike he did. As he charged through the mud he saw the Panther go behind a thick trunked tree so he picked up his pace. He caught it as soon as it exited on the other side, stabbing at it and striking it critically in the side of the neck, dealing three damage and generating two hate. It roared at him and darted away, a red pixely hole in its neck where Darius had struck it. As Darius watched it go, the dull white glow of around hid armor flared briefly under the effects of Spiritual Light, generating one hate. His Hellfire Drapes also flared a firey red/orange color on his back, generating another hate.

Daeron watched as Darius was currently showing him up in the group so far. Although the two players were indeed friends, it did upset Daeron slightly when players who have lower levels are beating him in a game he should be "good" at. Trying again, to try and recover from his past mistake, Daeron ran forward at the first panther, who wasn't touched yet. As he looked into the cat's eyes, he saw that it was in fact a weaker enemy, giving Daeron a strange boost of confidence as his weapon swung in a diagonal motion from the top left of his view to the bottom right, meaning across the panther's head.

Battle Dice: 9 (2 Damage + 3 Damage From Skill + 2 Damage From Weapon = 7 Damage + 1 HP Heal)

The weapon came down on the panther, and slashed across the head of the cat. Somehow, Daeron felt like he had intimidated the cat with his glare, but he knew that the feline wouldn't be fazed by this because it was just an AI trying to kill them. After his weapon had hit the cat, he saw that the enemy now had an eye on Daeron too, as he proved he was a heavy hitter.

Swift watched in awe as Daeron did almost half of the first panther's health bar in a single hit. She then decided to take charge in her attack and swing at the panther as well. She swung at the same panther that Daeron attacked, knowing that the panther would be unprepared for the next hit hopefully.

Battle Dice: 7 (3 Damage)

Result: Just as she had predicted, the weapon hit the panther, but the shadow from the weapon was unable to attach itself to the enemy. She had wanted to show off her weapon, but a regular hit for her was just fine.

Night Panther 1 had been dealt heavy damage. It had hissed at its two aggressors and dashed away from them and then nimbly climbed a tree. It disappeared into the vines and growth. It had set its eyes again onto Darius, who was alone and farther away from his companions, along with the fact that Darius had a far higher hate level. It climbed between branches as it made its way over to Darius, its companion hiding in the undergrowth and also waiting to strike. As it drew near, the sleek, black cat dove from the the branch it had perched on towards Darius, its claws outstretched in a hope to damage and drive Darius off balance.

Its hope had become a reality. It had pounced Darius from his right side and caught him unaware and sent him sprawling to the ground, slamming hard in the mud onto his shield. Even though its claws raked Darius' side, they availed to do no damage caused by Darius shield enchantment and Heavy Armor Efficiency. It did, however, lower Darius' evasion for Panther 2.

As Darius was pinned under Panther 1, Panther 2 shot out from the undergrowth in a streak of black, growling as it went. It drew up to Darius, its sleek body coiling as it swung at Darius with its right paw, going to rake its claws against the right side of his helmet. Its strike missed however, as Darius used the mud that he was shrouded in to his own advantage. As Panther 2 charged at him, he put all of his weight to one side, effectively sliding through the mud a few inches, aided by the pressure that Panther 1 put on him as he wriggled. Instead of striking down the side of Darius' helmet, its claws sank deep into the mud of the ground.

Darius was now effectively trapped trapped under Panther 1. His heavy armor was not helping him in any case to escape as it weighed him down heavily enough, making it that much easier for the already heavy Panther to hold him down. He wriggled in the mud against the force of the Panther holding him, evading Panther 2's attack, his armor clinking loudly as the second Panther roared in his face, angered by his evasion. He freed his sword arm to stab the Panther in the stomach that was atop him. As the blade slipped into the Panther's underbelly it howled and jumped off of Darius, letting him clamber to his feet, muddy and wet.
