[PP-F1] The Hunter Returns

As Kalthios opened his eyes, he groaned slightly into his pillow. "Ugh... Waking up is just as much of a pain in game as it is in reality..." Grumbling as he rolled out of bed, his first thought was to equip his gear. Bringing up his inventory menu, he equipped his <> and his <>. He smirked slightly as he looked over the col he had gained from the previous days hunt, while still curious as to the use of the <> given to him. Shrugging, he closes his menu and walks out of the small room he had stayed in overnight. Interestingly enough, he maintained one of his old habits from the real-world, even while in game- popping his knuckles and neck, as a way of waking up. So, walking along the city street, he could be heard making a loud popping noise every once in awhile, earning him odd looks from players. As he neared the city gates, he took a moment to stare out at the field, studying the layout. Noting the lack of players in the corner nearest the wall to his right, he set off that way, sword still in its sheath.

As Kalthios approached the area, he slowed his pace a moment to study the monsters he could be fighting. As he watched, however, a Dire Wolf lunged out at him from seemingly nowhere. Drawing his sword in a flash, he did all he could to try and damage the beast. However, his slash was too little, too late. A bright red claw mark on his virtual flesh was his 'reward' for trying to fend off the beast.

Grimacing slightly, Kalthios would warily eye the Dire Wolf. "Alright, you oversized mutt! You got the jump on me, let's see how you do when I'm ready for you!" He would then charge towards the beast, sword outstretched in his left hand. However, said oversized mutt merely lept to the side, delivering a sharp slash to the back of Kalthios' leg.

Raising his sword again, Kalthios would let out a savage yell, lunging towards the wolf which had thus far evaded his blows. However, the beast, true to form, jumped to the side again, delivering another sharp slash to Kal's legs.

Grimacing as he notices his now 1/3rd depleted health bar, Kalthios would re-position his grip on his sword. This time, he would sprint towards the beast, jumping off close to the beast, landing behind it. Swinging his sword out behind him, Kal would deliver a quick slice to the wolf's left flank.

Confidence somewhat restored by his change in luck, Kalthios would sprint towards the beast again, this time dropping into a slide as he neared it. However, his luck went back to how it was in that instant, with the wolf merely dropping its jaw, causing Kal to slice his foot on its teeth.

Humbled by his previous failure, Kal would instead run towards the beast, sword held high, aiming to deliver a slice to the beasts neck. As if suddenly posessed by some great strength, Kal would slash down at the beasts neck, immediately causing it to shatter into blue crystalline shards. His cheer of victory was re-enforced by the brief pop-up saying "Congratulations! 25 Col Gained!" Moving further towards his earlier designated area, Kal kept his sword in his hand, in case of any other spontaneous occurences.

As he keeps walking, Kal would stumble upon a lone boar, trying to bury something in the dirt. Quietly moving behind it, Kalthios would line himself up for an attack to the beasts exposed back. Then charging towards the beast, Kal would let out a fearsome yell and, on impulse, do a jump over the beast. His sword momentarily glowing a bright green, he would deliver a brutal slash to the beasts skull, knocking it back. However, as he landed, Kalthios heard the small item the beast was attempting to bury shatter into blue crystalline shards.

Empowered by his initial success, Kalthios would switch his sword around, holding it in a reverse grip. He would then charge towards the beast, and jump high into the air, his sword aimed downwards toward the boar. Allowing gravity to take its hold, Kal would slam downwards, driving his sword deep into the beasts skull, causing it to shatter into crystalline shards after a moment. Rising back to his feet, Kal was greeted by a pop-up. Congratulations! Gained 1 Healing Potion!" Grinning he closed the pop up, and turned back towards the area he was intending to go in the first place. Reaching it, he saw groups of two all around, and only one lone boar. Sprinting towards it, he lowered his body and held his sword out, parallel with the ground. His slash worked beautifully on the unsuspecting boar, allowing him to deliver a slash along the side of its body.

The boar, now aware of the threat to its kind, would turn and face Kalthios. The beast charges, tusks angrily tearing up the ground before it. Before he could move out of the way, Kal would be caught up in the swinging tusks, having a light slash delivered to his arm in the process.

Brushing off his clothes quickly, Kal would face towards the boar, a grin on his face. "Alright, Porky, let's go." He would sprint towards the beast, still grinning. The grin, however, would be knocked off his face by another quick tusk slash, and another health point lost.

Eyeing his third of a health bar, Kal shifted his grip slightly. "Ok, Porky, you want to dance? Let's dance." However, this dancing once again ended with Kal on his back, with a health point lost, and an overly triumphant boar.

Grimacing slightly as he look at his red health bar, Kal points his sword out towards the boar."Okay, Porky, you've had some luck. Let's see it hold now!" He charges towards the boar, a maniacal laugh on his lips. However, despite nearly hitting the boar, Kal is once again landed on his back. Regaining his feet, he quickly opens his inventory, uses a health potion, and grins.

Whipping his blade around in a quick circle, Kalthios charges towards the boar."I'm coming for you, Porky!" 'Porky', on the other hand, was apparently having no part of it, side-stepping and slicing the back of Kal's leg as he charged past.

Sighing quietly, Kal would regain his feet. "Ok, Porky... You win." He would start to walk away, before pivoting and sprinting towards the beast. Shouting slightly, he would jump towards the boar... before missing horribly and landing painfully on the ground.

Twisting his body slightly as he hits the ground, Kal would lunge from where he landed, directly towards the boar. "Time for some bacon, damn it!" His sword would leave a bright red slash along the boar's side.

As Kal would trail away from his last attack, the boar would swing its head around, slicing his ankle. Rolling to a stop, Kal would glare dangerously at the boar, before jumping high into the air.

As Kal lands, he notices the boar isn't at all where he thought it was, it having side-stepped. The boar would then, seemingly on a whim, swing it's tusks, slicing Kal's arm."Don't you dare, Porky, don't you dare." He would again jump high into the air.

As he lands, Kal lets out a savage yell, slamming his sword down into the boar's skull, causing it to dissolve into crystalline shards. As he stands, he sheaths his sword, and notices the pop-up. "Congratulations! Gained Healing Potion!" As he closes the pop-up, he turns to head back towards the city. Howevere, he looks back over at the crystal shards of the boar. "Well. That's all, folks." He proceeds to turn back towards the city, walking through the massive gates which provide safety for all those of low-levels.

However, mid-step, a bright white shape lunges out at Kal, knocking him to the ground and leaving a small gash across his arm. As he rises, his sword is instantly in his hand, ready to face the wolf that had suddenly appeared. He quickly pulls his remaining health potion from his inventory, using it immediately.
