[SP -F1] Let the Grinding/Farming Begin. [Complete]

Recommended Posts

Finally the boss boar had taken its first bit of damage and he could see the creatures health shrink ever so slightly on its health bar. He just needed to keep up the momentum. Like the other boars it flinched when it was hit and now Dameon attacked to try and catch it off guard while it was still recovering hoping that he finally had the timing down to a science.

He did not have the timing down to a science as the boss boar managed to hop back and avoid his attack. Dameon knew he needed to be quicker but he also cursed at his pathetically weak sword that game him no additional attributes what so ever. Oh well, he knew this was going to take a while so he prepared himself for a long fight and attacked again hoping to just barrage the damn thing with so many attacks that at least one hit.

Finally he had hit the boar with one of his attacks and not only did it hit it crit as strongly as it possibly could. He saw the life bar of the boar shrink dramatically. Dameon would not slow down his assault as he continued knowing that the boar would be flinched and he hoped he could end this much quicker than he had planned.

Dameon was a bit surprised as the boss boar blew steam out of its nose and hopped back and prepared for a counter attack. He had forgotten that bosses had a second phase in a fight when their health dropped below half. The boar charged at him quickly and Dameon had to roll out of the way and as he did so he swung his blade hoping to connect with the rampaging boar.

Dameon’s blade connected as if the game rewarded you by hitting for style points. It wasn’t a crit though. None the less the boar was now in kill range if he did manage to crit. Things were finally starting to work a bit in his favor. Dameon watched as the boar flinched and hit the ground from being hit and he attempted to hit it again while it was recovering.

Again his timing was off and the boar jumped up and thrashed about not even trying to dodge. Instead Dameon before he could potentially land the attack got stabbed by the boar and was crit for good damage. Its tusks doing some good damage. Dameon swore as he was knocked back a few feet. He then raced forward to attack the thing again.

Dameons blade connected but he almost swore when there was no crit meaning that the boar would still be alive long enough to keep harassing him. The boar again flinched and Dameon would swing forward trying to perfect his timing but it had but straight trash lately. When he had been in the beta his timing was flawless and he was able to chain attacks that landed but now it seemed near impossible and he was just happy to land one.

Dameon’s blade connected with the boar as his timing this time had actually been perfect. The tiing was important because when he was in beta it seemed that killing an enemy that was flinched had a higher chance of dropping useful loot. His instincts proved to be correct as well as the boss boar disappeared and a window popped up revealing the loot. A good amount of Col and an uncommon item. It was exactly what he had needed to. Perhaps things would finally start to get a bit easier. Though things were not done yet. He still had a lot of time left and he needed to fill out his other slots as well and improve what he had. He moved back toward some of the weaker boars and planned to farm them for loot. Finding one he attacked.

Dameon missed his attack and dodged the small boars counter attack. He didn’t really care if he missed at this point. He didn’t equip or even look at the new item he had gotten yet because he just felt like trying to run through all the creatures he could possibly find. He prepared and swung another attack hoping it would land.

Dameon missed yet again but he simply shrugged it off. He knew he was getting somewhere now and that his level was quickly rising and any moment now he would ding and level up. He dodged the small boar yet again and attacked hoping to land anything because one small connection and the blade would kill the boar. He was simply hunting for loot at this point.

note: prior to this point I was not editing to include damage in the same post as the roll and was adding it at the bottom of the following post.

Dameon killed the boar from simply grazing his sword against it and without hesitation he ran to another one. He wanted to clear the entire field of boars and get loot and level as well. He had no desire to be less than perfect. He prepared his blade and attacked the boar hoping he could just go on a killing spree at this point.

Dameon had killed yet another boar but no loot had dropped this time. At least with the last boar crafting material had dropped. He sighed and moved onto the next one not even bothering to think about the waste of time with that last boar. He drew his blade again and ran forward slashing at the boar knowing he was so close to leveling. He just wanted to get two more pieces of gear and he would be content.

Another boar dead and this time he got more mats he would need to trade or use to make better equipment. He wasn’t big into crafting himself and would much prefer other people to make his stuff for him. Felt like he didn’t have the time to craft things all willy nilly not when he was still trying to power level. Dameon would run to another boar and quickly attack it.

Dameon had not only landed the hit on the boar but he had also managed to level up yet again. He was finally starting to feel more confident from his experience that he when he had been playing in beta. He still needed more loot though otherwise the point of being in a low level area would be a waste. He ran forward and attacked another boar.

Another boar dead Dameon was a bit upset at the lack of loot but got over it quickly as he moved onto the next boar. His attacks were at least landing now meaning that the game system was on his side for the moment and the random chances were rolling high on his behalf. He didn’t want to let his momentum go to waste. He swung his blade quickly to initiate the fight.

Maybe his momentum had already begun to drop as the boar had moved out of the way so skillfully like it had done in the past. The attack back was slow however and Dameon was easily able to avoid being struck. He prepared his blade again and slashed hoping to connect and get some much needed loot. He didn’t know why he needed the loot so bad at this point he was collection enough money and mats to craft almost anything he wanted or needed.

Dameon had killed yet another boar just before he would be struck by its razor sharp tusks. Again, no loot and it was growing aggravating at least a little bit to him anyways. He moved onward as the field began to become clearer and clearer of creatures. Dameon attacked another boar hoping this one at least had some loot of some kind for him.

Another boar obliterated and again no loot. He was beginning to think that the game after beta had added a loot cap on smaller creatures. There would only be one way to find out though. After all he was still gaining valuable experience. He just wasn’t gaining any loot from the drops, perhaps they were tough to find and he had just gotten lucky earlier on. He attacked yet another boar to find some answers.

Apparently he was proven wrong as a material dropped and he collected it from his popup window. It seemed they were just harder to acquire than he had initially thought but there was no actual cap on the small creatures. This worked greatly to his benefit as he approached another boar despite their thinning numbers and attacked it with a horizontal slash.

Just when he had gotten his hopes up of getting two more pieces of loot the boar dodged his initial attack by hopping backwards and out of the way. Dameon was struck in the leg by small boar and he took a single point of damage although now it was a lot less bothersome than when he only had five health points only an hour ago. Dameon swing his weapon at the boar again to try and kill it.
