[SP-F3] Spelunking! (finished)

Recommended Posts

It was a nice day on the tropical third floor, the lightly hot breeze brushed against Hikari's face as she stood by the beach she went to before with Miaki and Elyth. "Glad I remembered the place..." Taking off her equipment, Hikari revealed a jet black wet-suit lined with crimson markings much like Shiranui's. The wolf standing beside her quickly changed his Divine Instrument to the Tundra Beads Rosary, as to avoid damaging his Solar Flare or electrocuting Hikari with his Thunder Edge. "You ready, Ammy?" The wolf, giving an affirmative nod, jumped into the water first and dove deeper, followed by Hikari, who knew she could just keep the wet-suit on as there were no monsters inside. The light emanating from the dungeon was distinct and Hikari and Shiranui were able to find it without any problems, surfacing on the cold stone floor of the dungeon. "Let's see now..." Inspecting the bottom of the water where she just came in, Hikari knew Miaki had found a chest there before. "Not here... Must have spawned somewhere else..." Quickly turning back to the rest of the dungeon, Hikari asked Shiranui to change to the Solar Flare for light, something she neglected to get, and proceeded to the end of the corridor.

The corridor was lit by Shiranui's Solar Flare to the brim, almost as if light never exited the place at all. Noticing a hole in the ceiling, Hikari climbed up to find...

Spiders.

A huge number of spiders which just crawled around not paying attention to her. With her eyes wide open, Hikari came down while chanting. "Nopenopenopenopenopenope....." And retreated beside Shiranui, inspecting instead the indents of this corridor to find a chest, a single one. "Finally." Rubbing her hands together, Hikari put them to the brown box's opening and lifted it up.

Loot roll - 6 - two mats

A soft light emanating from the chest, Hikari picked up the two ingots of Atlantis Iron and stored them in her inventory. "Not bad, but we'll need a lot more than these to last a while..." Continuing on to the end of the corridor, Shiranui's light made an indent in the dead end visible. Knowing what it was, Hikari tried to click it simply, disappointed it didn't work. "Damn you-! FALCON! PAWNCH!" Swinging her arms back, Hikari punched the indent in with explosive force, hurting her hand in the process. "Owowowow.... Dangit..." Feeling the floor rumble beneath her, Hikari braced herself for what'd happen next. The floor fell with Hikari on top, bringing her to the dungeon's second and final level....

Landing on her behind, Hikari took a minute to pick herself up, noticing Shiranui landed gracefully on his paws, like a cat. Giving her familiar a slight pout of envy, Hikari searched for the chest which previously contained Tungsten Ingots, finding it in the same place as before. "You must be a special chest, huh? Let's see what's in you..." Carefully putting her fingers to the opening of the polished brown chest, Hikari tried opening the chest, only to be rudely interrupted by a swarm of spiders. "Jeez, you're annoying... I'll take care of you first, then..." A smirk appearing on her face, Hikari turned to the swarm, equipping her gear in the process, including her new shield. "Let's see what you're made of!" The first of five spiders was being charged at by her, while Shiranui took care of guarding the chest. A slash was the attempt of an attack, aimed for the spider closest to her.

Combat Dice - 6 - Success - 5 damage (you know where it comes from by now... >.>)

A distinct gash appearing on the first spider, it was already nearly dead, a single other attack would kill it, but it first had to attack.

The spider pouncing Hikari, it was too simple an attack to not be able to dodge, with Hikari simply swinging to the side and slashing at the spider while it flew by.

Combat Roll - 8 - Success! - 5 damage

(OOC Edit: oops, forgot loot...) Loot roll - 1 - Fail! - no mats

The spider exploding into bits from the overkill slash, Hikari now turned to the second spider, ready for it to attack first. "Hmmph, is that all ya got, you stupid arachnids?!" Her smirk growing wider and demonic, Hikari simply wanted to tear apart these creatures one by one, readying her new shield to protect against the next attack. "Tch!"

The fangs of the spider dug into the shield, which absorbed all potential damage it could inflict. The spider jumped back but it was already too late for it. Sprinting like a hell hound, Hikari reached the spider and released the "Linear" skill she had been charging while defending.

Combat Dice - 3 - Fail! - no damage

"Tch!" The spider barely having managed to dodge the basic skill by jumping sideways, Hikari readied her shield once again, throwing a glance at her familiar, which still seemed to be guarding the chest and observing her. "These guys are nothing, Ammy!" Concentrating on the spider again, Hikari put herself in an iron stance as the creature jumped at her.

Its fangs once again biting into the ebony colored shield, the damage inflicted was absorbed and negated, resulting in an open spot for Hikari to slash it apart while it was still there. "Heh, you're mine!" Swinging her blade to stab the stuck spider, Hikari brought the shield closer to herself for an easier time.

Combat Roll - 9 - Success! (no crits) - 5 damage

The sword impaling the spider's abdomen, its health dropped to the same value as the its sister, resulting in it almost dying, but not quite. "You little...Hehe..." Her eyes sharpening and smirk widening, Hikari was now in full blown berserk mode, nothing could stop her now. Charging forward with her shield in hand, Hikari already anticipated the spider's next move, putting her shield in front of her to parry it.

The spider jumping and pouncing was exactly what Hikari was expecting, though not at such speed. The spider hit the shield with its legs, bouncing off and sticking to a wall. "So you're fast, that doesn't mean I'm not faster!" Aiming straight for the spider, Hikari swung her sword, not caring if the wall was destroyed with the beast.

Combat Dice - 9 - Success - 5 damage

Loot Roll - 3 - Fail! - no mats

The spider being thrown off the wall and separated into two parts, immediately exploded into a jumbled mess of blue polygons as it hit the ground. Glancing over to see if Shiranui was still safe, Hikari continued to dispatch of the spiders one by one. "Next one, c'mon!" Giving a taunting scream to the weak monsters, Hikari put her shield in front of her.

The next spider coming from straight in front of her, Hikari skillfully parried it away, making it land on its back. Sprinting quickly towards it, Hikari hoped to stab its abdomen quickly while it was still trying to get up.

Combat Dice - 10 - Success! - 5 damage (Nooo! I need a new sword...)

The sword pierced right through the spider and barely not into the ground, prompting Hikari to remove it immediately to get ready for the next attack. Raising her shield, there were only three more spiders to go and one of them was nearly dead. "I'll show you the true power of the Crimson Reaper...Ufufufu..ufufufufufufufufufu..." A demonic cackle escaping her lips, Hikari's eyes turned into a fiercer shade of crimson.

The spider flipping on its legs, it jumped straight for Hikari, who blocked the strike with her shield once again. "Ugh, this fight's way too boring, I just keep doing the same every single time..." A bored look replacing her smirk, Hikari attempted to slash the spider apart once again.

Combat Dice - 7 - Success - 5 damage

Loot Dice - 11 - Success - 1 mat

Disappearing into a billion blue triangles, the spider gave Hikari one single material which she couldn't use. Closing the HUD reading: "Spider Leg" Hikari turned to the next one, a bored look still on her face.

The spider jumping towards Hikari, she simply put her shield in front of her to block the attack. "You're way too weak..." The next attack would be from her, switching to one other blade she had kept with her, it was for a customer, but the payment hadn't been received yet, so it was technically still hers. "Sorry, Yami." Equipping the golden sword which hung on her belt, Hikari drew it and attempted to once again slash the spider apart.

Battle Dice - 10 (+1) - Critical! - 1 + 2 WDMG + 2 MDMG + 2 CritDMG = 7 DMG

Loot Dice - 1 - Fail! - no mats

With one strike from the golden sword, the spider was ripped to pieces and exploded in a bright flash of light. "Tch, one hit, way too weak." Her expression now stoic, Hikari readied her shield to face the final spider.

Parrying the spider's predictable attack, Hikari's was more predictable as she had done it before. Walking to the spider while it was still on its back, Hikari attempted to ram the golden sword straight through its abdomen.

Combat Dice - 10 - Critical! - 7 Damage

The sword pierced effortlessly through the spider, it was a perfect piece, after all, and made it vanish into a bright blue light.

Tch... put up more of a fight next time..." Walking over to where Shiranui was, Hikari equipped her "Rage" again, not wanting to waste the perfect sword's durability. The chest was right in front of her, Shiranui right beside her, there was one final thing to do to end this spelunking session...

Putting her hands to the opening of the polished brown chest, Hikari lifted the top open with hopes of finding some good materials.

Loot Dice - 16 - Great! - 4 mats

Her eyes blinded by the radiance of the high-quality ingots, she picked them up in her inventory to confirm they were the same. "4x Tungsten Ingot" read in the chest HUD, making Hikari's face shine a radiant smile. Closing the HUD and accepting the ingots into her inventory, Hikari walked over to the fountain in the center of the room adorned with a glass ceiling, drinking a bit of the pure water before taking out a teleport crystal. "Teleport, Snowfrost Town!" Enveloped by a shining light blue glow, both Hikari and Shiranui were transported back to the fourth floor, ending this Spelunking excursion.
