[SP-F1-F9] Mastering The Art of the Blade

Recommended Posts

Daeron had finally reached the level of sword wielding he was satisfied with. Actually, more than satisfied. He had managed to max out his one handed straight sword skill. This meant that he just needed to do one more thing before it's official he can do additional damage.

Daeron had heard other players maxing out their sprint skills or even their armor skills, but since he wanted to be a DPH player and then a 'bruiser' as other games called it, he needed to work towards the damage first. Daeron had asked an information broker on what exactly he needed to do in order to achieve this maximum status.

The broker spoke through a black cloak with a muffled voice but it was still audible, barely. "So it's a grandmaster quest you're trying to do? Huh? Well in that case what you must do to obtain this completion, you have to defeat a field boss on every floor. Once you have done this, it's safe to say you have proved your worth. There are 9 field bosses you must defeat." The broker said as he or she even handed Daeron a list.

  • Floor 1: Goblin Warrior [HP]
    Floor 2: Bandit Leader [HP]
    Floor 3: Elf Knight [HP]
    Floor 4: Frost Guardian [HP]
    Floor 5: Desert Lurker [HP]
    Floor 6: Tribal Elite [HP]
    Floor 7: Shadow Crawler [HP]
    Floor 8: Forest King [HP]
    Floor 9: Lava Cobra [HP]

The list given showed the health points and damage per hit of every monster, however this didn't include any abilities the monsters all could possibly add, otherwise this quest would be too easy. The challenge is also to solo every boss. Death is obviously a possibility as the outcome of accepting the mission.

Daeron being arrogant, took on the challenge and will prove to players that he can handle any field boss on his own. However, in the future, he may end up regretting his own words.

Daeron took another look to check the first of the field bosses he was going to fight.

Floor 1: Goblin Warrior [HP]

Daeron then checked his gear as he had 3 health potions at the current moment, but he may need to purchase more in the future. He then went to the first floor using a teleport gate. He exited towards the <> where all the lower leveled players were, as well as some upper leveled players who were questing or helping the lower levels.

At the moment he cared less. All he wanted was to master his weapon skill. Daeron then exited the city and headed out towards the plains from the South end of the city. As the first floor was huge, there were tons of field bosses about the map. He had no clue as to where this Goblin Warrior was exactly, but he did mark a point on the map for every floor that the broker had told him about.

After walking for approximately 30 minutes of the day already, he had finally arrived at the location. It was a small open area with the surrounding area being a ring of trees. Boars and wolves roamed the plains, but didn't bother him at all. He knew that this field boss would be easy to find, but the rest may be tougher to locate and may even have minions or monsters guarding them.

Daeron entered the entrance to the ring of the trees to find the center with a <> holding a rusted blade, that was missing the top half of the weapon and the armor was some leather that must have been scavenged from players who dropped their material.

Daeron drew his weapon. He had planned on getting a new blade once he gathered the materials, which would be soon enough. He had plans with some friends to go ahead and find some enemies to fight for him to get a load of material. Daeron then stood ready to fight the first of the 9 monsters that blocked his way to get the maximum sword skill.

Daeron rushed forward at the <> who was dancing around not paying any attention. He didn't really do much of a rush in fact, to be honest, he more like walked over and swung his weapon while the enemy's back was turned to the player.

The <> had stopped dancing once the system finally registered that it was being attacked and almost half of its Health was already depleted.

The <> stopped its dance and turned towards the player that had attacked it. Due to having a short temper, the <> swung it's weapon around through the air while stomping it's feet on the ground. The short tempered <> ran forward at Daeron who stood there bored of the fight as it had no intense action in it.

Once the <> neared the player, it swung the part of a rusted blade that it was holding, in hopes of hurting Daeron. Because the <> was so slow with its attack, Daeron simply stepped back with a casual style as if he wasn't even trying. If anyone were watching this fight, they would know that Daeron is bored.

Daeron watched the slow moving attack whiff past him and he then stepped forward again once the weapon was done swinging. Daeron then yawned and he swung his weapon slowly towards where the <>'s shoulder is, ready to watch another drop in its health bar.

Again, the weapon cut a red gash into the enemy and he watched as the health bar dropped another large amount of damage. Daeron knew that by how much he takes every hit, that he just needed to hit the <> one more time before it would be defeated already.

The <> was furious at this point and tried to swing it's barely qualified for a weapon of a sword at Daeron who stood there staring at it with a glance that showed to a person that he just wanted this enemy dead as the <> was just a nuisance to him.

The <>'s weapon had barely slashed at Daeron's finger. The red gash looked to a person like a paper cut. The damage dealt was miniscule compared to all the other monsters that he had fought before. He had found normal monsters stronger than this field boss.

Daeron looked at his finger and laughed. "Ow?" he questioned the goblin as he swung at the <> one more time. If he had missed this hit, he would feel stupid for missing a weak target like this one. The enemy was almost dead, it was time that he took the <> out of its misery.

As he had thought, he had hit the monster one more time. The <> shattered into pieces and he had no longer a problem with the monster. Daeron then left the ring of trees and headed back to the <> for him to use the <> unique skill to heal the one point of damage he had taken from the field boss he just fought.

Daeron arrived in the <>, and he looked at the next field boss he needed to fight on the list. This time when he saw the list, he scratched off the <> and moved his index finger down to the second enemy on the list.

Floor 2: Bandit Leader [HP]

Daeron then entered the teleport gate and spoke out to his next location, <>. When he arrived in the second floor's main city, <>, he sat down somewhere in the city and began to use the <> skill.

Daeron headed off to an inn really quick to get a drink really quick and then he began to head out. His <> skill was nearly ready to be activated completely. So slowly, he began to exit <>. He had heard that the <> field boss was actually in a cave that sat on the side of one of the mountains on the second floor.

Daeron checked his health gauge as it wasn't healed from the 1 point of damage yet. Though it was only one point, he knew that it could be the one point that could save his life from ANY monster. Even higher leveled players have a chance of dying to anything, just for them, it is substantially lower.

Daeron was able to see the mountains now from a distance as he neared the elevated ground. He had to travel through the woods in order to get to the first mountain. Somewhere in time, Daeron's <> skill was finally activated and had healed his one point of damage. Now that he had his health back, he saw the cave after about 15 minutes of walking.

Finally, he neared the outside of the cave where he heard slight chatter, more than likely from the <> that are inside of the cave. Daeron readied his weapon as he would run in there swinging at the first to enemies he encounters.

Daeron finally rushed in there to find there being two <> enemies and then behind them stood the <>. Daeron smirked as he knew this fight would actually be a little bit tougher than the first one. Daeron gripped his weapon and was ready to strike.

As Daeron began to observe the scene he saw an opening for him to attack right as he entered. He ran at the first <> assuming they would do anything to protect their "Leader". Daeron swung his sword at the first <> who was on the left side of Daeron's vision.

The <> that Daeron had attempted to strike at, had managed to back away and tried to strike at the player. The <> jumped forward at Daeron, holding a dagger that was actually decent quality compared to the <>'s barely able a weapon.

Daeron watched as the <> jumped at him, and he managed to avoid the hit just barely watching the dagger slip by his face by a mere inch. Finding this amusing, he watched the second <> ready to strike already with the <> already rushing forward behind the other <>

  • 3 weeks later...

The second <> went in behind the first to try and catch Daeron off guard. The <> held his one dagger in his left hand and swung it at the player before the <> now. The dagger was made of a thin iron, and it didn't look extremely durable. The player was too quick for the <> and he had avoided the attack with ease.

The <> held a slightly longer weapon. It wasn't necessarily a dagger, but it wasn't a sword either. It was almost like a mix of both. The <> sighed and then swung his weapon at Daeron to try and hit the player, unlike his two grunts. The hit was barely able to connect at the player, but it was enough to deal some damage towards the player.

Daeron felt the hit from the <>, but it wasn't exactly a heavy hit either. It was actually just enough to deal a single point of damage as it was displayed in the health bar in the upper left corner of his peripheral vision during combat. The health bar continued to stay green, showing that he was nowhere in danger at the current moment.

Daeron now took this hit as an excuse to try and kill one of the two grunts that were still trying to protect their <>. It was now only a matter of this strike to see if Daeron could possibly take one of them out. The <> dodged the hit.

The <> that had dodged Daeron's attack, now raised his weapon and swung it down at the player, as he was standing right before the two grunts at this point. This made combat much more active and put everyone in the cave on their toes at the time being. The <>'s attack was too slow for Daeron and he dodged the attack. However, during the dodge he had moved in front of the second <> who was about to attack him from behind.

The second <> of the grunts tried to attack from behind, but was too slow for a moment as Daeron dodged the first attack, moving his position. Instead, the second <> was trying to go for a full frontal attack at this point as their cover has been blown. The attack was also predictable, therefore Daeron was able to dodge the second attack.

The <> got frustrated as his grunts were unable to do anything, and it was now up to their leader to try to harm the player before he got to harm any of the players. The <>'s weapon had barely hit the player again, but put a very small mark in the player's health bar once more.
