General Personality: Takamichi is an expressive and eccentric young man and if you were to ask his friends, he’d be described as one who pushes you to your best and encourages you to try your hardest. 
 

Adults may view him as an arrogant smart ass, however, Taka prefers confident and intelligent. He values loyalty and puts love and respect at the basis of his decisions, even if these decisions may be wrong. 
 

He doesn’t show it often, but he loves his friends fiercely and would do and give anything for them. He also falls quickly due to his lack of interest from women, so he’s quite the clingy individual.

Background: Raised by a single mother after his father’s incarceration for drug trafficking, the two of them had a hard time maintaining a decent living and income. 
 

Taka had a knack for programming and technical skills which he used to make extra cash for he and his mother. Using his skills and knowledge to repair and debug programs, games and softwares he was able to help his mom pay for groceries and the house.

When Takamichi was 22 his mother was diagnosed with Lou-Gehrigs Disease and it wasn’t looking to good. He had to sell most of his belongings, and begin working 3 jobs just to pay for her medical expenses and barely hold an apartment for himself. At the same time, the release of the NerveGear along with Sword Art Online was taking the news by storm.

After purchasing the rig, he found he could not afford the game. So a buddy of his managed to pirate a copy for him… 

After sliding the cartridge in and booting up the NerveGear, things seemed to be going smoothly. That was until he was met with the final loading screen after building his avatar. Because of the game being stolen, its ID was flagged by the system and attempted to forcefully boot him from the game. Though due to the game locking players inside, it was canceled. 
 

This was a problem, Takamichi was stuck in a suspended state of unconsciousness due to the conflicting commands of the system. His senses and consciousness were practically frozen for the long duration of time that the other players were leveling up.

But he was finally freed when the Cardinal System noticed the status of his account.
