Avalanche had already taken a decent beating from Wulfrin and Astra, slashes of fire and flurries of steel cutting into its shimmering form. Now it was Ciela’s turn. Her heart thudded in her chest, but her expression was focused. She had a plan.

Shatter. That was her latest strategy, designed to drop an enemy’s mitigation and make them easier to finish off. It worked well against most monsters. The idea was simple: she hit them first, then Wulfrin came in to deal massive damage. Teamwork at its finest.

But Avalanche wasn’t playing by the usual rules. Her Shatter ability didn’t seem to land properly, the effect sliding right off the ice elemental like water on glass. She had forgotten that Avalanche couldn't be affected by certain status effects. Still, she wasn’t discouraged. This was good practice, she was planning to switch up her armor soon, and her combat style needed to evolve with it.

The frozen lake made every step a gamble. She slipped once, caught herself, then pivoted hard. With a spin that would make a figure skater jealous, she let her blade fly forward. Steel met ice with a sharp, ringing crack as her sword carved a clean line into Avalanche’s side. It wasn’t perfect, but it was solid. And she was only getting better.

"We're making good pace!" Wulfrin called out over the howling blizzard that continued to harry them. "We've made a sizeable dent! This is the final stretch! Keep up the momentum!"

Did he need to be barking orders? Absolutely not, but this was good practice for raid call outs. When in the room with the Floor Boss, it can be hard to keep track of the area around you. Callouts helped mitigate that risk of missing timings, critical health callouts, etc. As it stood, Wulfrin was focused on at least getting Ciela and Astra used to hearing them. Without missing a beat, Wulfrin's blade erupted with fire again as he charged towards Avalanche. Consecutive lashes of fire arced across its form as Wulfrin's onslaught continued on the overgrown popsicle. Another chip in the field boss's defenses made itself present as Wulfrin eyed the health point bar of their foe. All they needed was one more strong push.
