The day before the raid meeting, when tensions were high and everyone buzzed with last-minute preparations, Ciela and Wulfrin slipped away unnoticed. They’d made a quiet decision, one born not out of impulse, but out of the shared weight they carried. With the looming threat of battle ahead and little time guaranteed to anyone, they wanted something that was just theirs. One moment. One promise. One memory untouched by strategy, danger, or duty.

Ciela had spent the morning in her kitchen, flour streaking her cheeks and arms as she baked with wild, unrelenting focus. Her way of coping, of grounding herself, was kneading dough and shaping pastries. Wulfrin, on the other hand, had been buried in logistics and battle planning, his mind consumed by enemy stats and formations. They needed a break, not from each other, but for each other.

So they traveled quietly to Fondante’s Inferno, the bakery that had become more than just a shop, it was her home away from home. There, waiting patiently as promised, was Tam. Ciela had reached out to him days before, requesting a favor that meant everything: to officiate their wedding in secret.

There were no guests, no grand ceremony, just the warm scent of baked bread, the lake shimmering in the background, and two souls ready to face whatever came next, as one.

Wulfrin made sure to take in the fresh virtual air of his home floor in all its grandeur. For all he knew this might be the last time he got to be alone with his wife to be. The moment felt bittersweet to him. So many invitations had gone out with promises of feasts and pageantry all before a crucial raid meeting to share info about the upcoming raid of Floor 28. Wulfrin could only think if this was what soldiers felt before they got shipped out for war.

Ciela had told him of her clever plan to marry before the actual ceremony. Wulfrin liked the idea as it would allow for more intimate moments without the added wait of knowing he was moments from talking about his possible death. Whilst Ciela was busy in her shop, Wulfrin was piecing together last minute gear and items from everything he had collected so far in Aincrad. Having pondered his options for long enough, he made his way next door to Fondante's Inferno
