Bitter cold that seemed to pass through what clothing she wore and tore into her skin with an aggression that made Aoi wonder if the Cardinal system wasn’t attempting to bring her to an end simply through the freezing of her internal organs. Not that it could do such a thing, she knew. Digitally, she was nothing more than an image – no internal bones, organs, or any other features that could theoretically die from the cold that surrounded her. That logic didn’t stop her from shivering and complaining, however, pulling the dark jacket closer around herself in an attempt to do something, anything, to break free from the torment that was her current situation. Kaie wasn’t doing much better, the small robotic creature moving slowly as if its various mechanical parts were freezing in the snow that lapped around its form as much as Aoi was. She considered lifting the thing up, before shaking her head – the last time she’d tried that it had attempted to slash her in fear, the small blades along its forefront more danger than any cold. ’This place sucks.’ She whispered the words as she wandered through the streets, looking for some sort of clue as to the location of the man who was meant to bring her to the famous garden. She’d received the guidance and suggestion from Cervais, as part of another bit of information she’d purchased from him, about the garden of Eden that belonged to a man known for appearing sporadically throughout Aincrad. The rumours, which had spread across the floating castle world, had been more than enough to drag Aoi from the warmer, more comfortable floors and into the desolate frozen tundra that was the fourth. A place that she had, actively, avoided up until this moment. ’I swear Kaie, if we freeze to death here chasing down some basic supplies, I’m gonna be so mad. She turned around another corner, hoping that she would find something more pleasing to her eyes. Instead, she slammed into the form of an individual who appeared wholly out of their current environment. Short pants, a t-shirt that screamed sunlight, and a straw hat adorned the man she’d slammed into accidentally. She stopped short in her apologetic bow, her mouth opening but no words coming out as the man turned and smiled down at her with a lopsided grin that caused Aoi to blush. ’Oh my apologies, I didn’t see you there! My name’s Nemo, it’s a pleasure to meet you!’ The man’s eyes twinkled, and he held out a hand to greet her, entirely ignoring the partially bent form that she’d halted in. ’Say, would you be interested in seeing my garden?
