[F21-PP-PT] Sweet Nothing

Recommended Posts

It was late afternoon, Eruda is sitting at the guild hall table. Papers were laid across the table with only two in front of her. One a check list of things that she had been wanting to do for a while. She found herself having more free time these days and she wanted to spend them wisely before they got busy again. The other parchment was a location. After all this time of being here and looking at all the beautiful described floors she had yet to see a waterfall. That was the first thing on her bucket list. She wasn't really sure if she could get it all done in one day given she started late today but it was worth a try.

Hair tied up with a purple and now red ribbon, she knew that it might look a little weird but that crimson red fabric was not allowed to stay in a box anymore. A  light pink sun dress on that went just above her knees with spaghetti straps and little frills of fabric that hung on the sides of each shoulder. It also had a black belt sowed into the waist that didn't do much but look pretty, at least to her. A pair of mid calf black boots with no heels, she didn't know if rocks would be her friend with heels. It was her most recent creation and she though she would try it out today. Setting the paper in her inventory, she didn't want to get it wet. Getting out of her chair, she would start heading to floor 21.

A lot of stuff has happened with her and Rai these last couple days that were magical. She was kinda wondering if he was still doing his morning deliveries. It was nice that he was helping the poor townsfolk in the damaged villages. Knowing that the raid had already started so there was no potions or gear to be made until next time. She was curious to know if what he was doing today. Looking at her map it would be a little bit of a track but she thinks it would be worth it.

Quote

To: Raidou
From: Eruda
If you are not busy, meet me. I'll be at the Underground Waterfall entrance on floor 21.

With the chime of her HUD the message was sent. He should know where it is, the information was written in his handwriting and he doesn't forget anything. Eruda continues the journey, not really sure where she was going but she knew how to navigate the map. When she got there, she would wait ten minutes for either a response back or an appearance. She couldn't expect Raidou to want to spent every day with her but she would hope that he could and wanted to, at least today.

The man would travel through a road that he was more than familiar, given that most of the mapping of this floor was done by him in particular. The caverns of Tomoika were vast, and yet the man could navigate them quicker then the skin on the back of his hand. The thicker yellow miasma that did not lend itself well to those that wished to breach it, required that players move quickly through it. His health would tick down slowly, but his vitality would allow it to climb back to full without much direct intervention. From the town of Charko the man only needed to make a small detour to reach the place that Eruda had asked to meet up, so it was not too much trouble to do so. The taps of his boots would have rocks grind a bit underfoot against the rougher pocked stone underneath, eluding to his arrival before anything. "Been waiting long?" The man asked as he looked past the blonde into the roaring water, being mixed into a vibrant spectrum of colors through the stones beneath casting off light that would ooze through the clear white waves.

He'd adjust his robe and nestle in it, his attentions fixed out where the water would gather. Raidou found himself slightly curious at to what the girls intentions were. The red wanderer was always busy, but not so much so that he couldn't spare time for his loved ones. Elda especially.

It had been less than ten minutes before Raidou showed up, the minute she sees him her eyes light up in excitement. "Not really, just got here myself." Seeing him fixated on the falls behind them, they were still a distance away but the pouring water and the colors that reverberating off the rocks was prominent. "I know this is an odd place to meet, but I haven't seen one up close." She would turn toward the cave, "I made a list of stuff that I wanted to do about a year ago, a bucket list if you prefer the phrase." She would begin to walk in, it started to get a bit louder but that was to be expect. Shifting her head to glance to Rai over her shoulder, "I know that we just spend a few days together but..." dropping mid sentence her face began to redden just thinking about it. Clearing her throat with a small fist in front of her mouth "But to be honest most of my list I can't do without you." She said this a bit too quickly but it was embarrassing. Walking a little faster, her emotions were going wild and after those last few days she knew that wasn't going to change. Standing on a cliff side looking down it looked amazing, mist lightly hit her face.

Heat raised against her cheeks, the real reason she wanted him here was she wanted to spend more time with him. She found out so much about him in those last two days, she just wanted more. In a way it was addicting, but she didn't want to come off like she was being needy or obsessed even if half of it was true. This was her first relationship and she didn't want to mess it up. She wanted to be honest with him, wanted to tell him everything. "I..." she couldn't find the words,  how could she explain it in a way that didn't make her sound crazy. "I wanted to spend more time with you, but I understand if you might be too busy." A deep breath, her chest was heavy, she turns to face him. She wanted to run into his arms and hug him but the ground was slick. So instead she started looking for a way down. Finding a small winding path, it looked like it was going down but there was only one way to find out. She would make her way slowly down, watching her step with every foot fall. She was holding the wall as she walked, the path was only a few feet wide.

The man would offer pursuit without any resistance, offering the quick response "Good, most of my morning is clear." He'd sate her curiosity and any inhibition to the notion. Raidou's morning tasks had been handled quite readily, jumping around from floor to floor like usual did take its own fair shake. The man would lean down and pick up a flatter stone. That adamant and stoic expression that he always wore still clung to his brow, one that spoke in facts and simple truths. "Lead the way." the man offered for her take the wheel, allowing for her to work through whatever hooks that would slow her down with that patience. But her hesitation on the path to take. His feet easily seek out spaces to lock in, given the sheer amount of these cliff faces he'd scaled. Hell some of them even moved and yet he would do it all the same. Every so often, he'd offer a hand up to help guide her to the safest route. At the base where the multitude of falls would dribble into the center basin, and Raidou would flick the flattened rock like a coin before snatching it out of the air. A twist he'd toss it across the clear surface, sending it skipping simply and living small splashes as it coasts. "Elda I'm here for you, there is no place I need to be. Relax." Raidou would offer to give her some peace of mind.

Watching the rock skip ten times over, she would smile. Looking for another that was semi flat, she decided to try. Finding one, she would shift her body slightly to line her eyes with the pool of water, as she pulls her arm back a bit. With a flick of her wrist, it skips three time. Without thinking about it she jumps raising her arms with "YES" before slowly pulling them down behind her back. Pushing her lips together, turning to Rai with a small chuckle. "First time" remarking as heat build in her face. After a moment her eyes would go to the falls, all the different colors. She began to wonder if there was something like this in the real world. She knew that there was waterfalls but curious if with the right ores beneath it if it would gleam the same way. "Well good, your making dinner tonight then" turning to meet his eyes. "I make it every night, it is your turn" a smirk forms on her lips.

Taking a deep breath as she glancing to the purple liquid splashing down. Shaking her hands in front of her, "Okay, so just to be clear" pausing as she takes off her shoes and tosses then to the side. Dipping her toe in the water with a small shiver. "I was going to do this with or without you" eyes peer around the rocky area to make sure there was no movement. Nothing was around, a shift to look into the water, it looked deep enough. Taking a deep breath, "It just makes it a bit more..." pausing as she pulls her straps off her shoulders, she trying to find the right word "Interesting." Taking a slow deep breath, her eyes meet his for only a moment before she turns and the dress drops to the ground. Not looking back she didn't want to get cold feet, even though that was exactly what was going to happen when slipping into the water. Getting to the edge, her heart was beating a million miles a second. Lifting herself down into the water with a gasp as she slinks in further. Only her eyes and nose were showing, another piece of clothing is toss up, as she would pull the two ribbons from her hair letting it fall and float on the waters surface. She didn't want to loose them. Strolling back a bit eyes meeting those ember eyes for only a moment before Eruda disappears into the waterfall.

The man reaches up to his shoulders, removing the robe from it folding it neatly up as to prevent it from taking on water. It reveals the belt of his twin sheathes running across his chest, from his right shoulder and beneath his left arm. The two sword handles perched there normally just beneath his robe. The riding waves slowly bleeding in from above. Eruda was clearly having a great time. "I cannot say that I have ever done it, but I am sure I can manage." Raidou offered limply with a smile all his own. The girl would start to strip and mingle out into the pool of water, causing the nomad to make a double take in a search of his surroundings finds her clothes piled up in little flips and slaps as they are cast from the water. Some wet, and others not so much. The man was torn, given he couldn't just disarm in such an uncontrolled place like this. It would spell a recipe for disaster no matter how inviting the notion was.

A spark of creativity, the man would reach into his pockets and pull out a music crystal. Tapping it once for good measure, it would begin to play a classical song. Tossing it into the water like a stone, the resonating sound causes all of the dormant little prisms to glow in harmony with it. They were the same item, so it only made sense that this reaction would occur. Underneath the girl in the pool would transition to a myriad of color. A prismatic spectrum of light from beneath the waves. Although the man would not disarm nor strip, nothing stopped him from wading out in his clothes. He could at least offer her this, to help fulfil some aspect of her bucket list.

Closing her eyes with her head up allowing the water to pour down on her face. She was under one of the lesser currents so the splashing didn't hurt in a way. She was not expecting him to come in, but she was glad that he was even here to share even a fraction of this experience. Hearing a slight muffled sound, music. She swims about a foot forward to see a rainbow rave inside the already purple liquid. Her eyes gleam with excitement, "Wow" is all she could say. It was nothing like anything that she had ever seen before. "Thank you" looking up at him, seeing that he was watching her. Smiling with a small chuckle, she knew he wasn't going to let his guard down in the wild, it was fine. All that mattered is that he was here. She would swim around a bit more while the man would keep watch, enjoying the view that he provided. The song ended and that was when she dove under and grabbed the crystal, setting it on the land.

She took a deep breath, climbing out of the pool. She would quickly move through her inventory and grab a towel out wrapping it around her frame. Tucking it under her arm, grabbing the clothing and ribbons from the ground. This was one of the most embarrassing things she had done, she walks to Rai and just places her forehead against his chest. Her hair was long enough that it laid under the towel so she wasn't to wet. "I don't suppose you could teleport us home." She was shivering a bit which was ironic given that she could literally produce flames from thin air. "I have set a few things in the fridge that you can choose from. I can help if you need it when I get dressed..." Standing here with nothing on but a single layer of fabric, she couldn't bring herself to look up. Heat rose in her cheeks, chest pounding, emotion out of control, but the one thing she could do was chuckle a bit at what she had just done.

Eruda had her fun without having to worry herself too much on her surroundings, sadly he cannot be too invested into it. Perhaps in another time or place he'd have the opportunity but not here. Where threats could very well wander into the place and take advantage. The crystal pulled from the bottom of the lake, the girl would bring it back up to return it to him. He'd give it a couple of shakes before adding it back into his pocket. Playing the part of the stalwart sentinel as she'd collect her belongings and ask to have a quick return home. "I can, plenty of charges left." The man comments reaching to the small blue pendant at his neck, wrapping it in his hand and murmuring the location of their home. A blue gateway appears, extending a hand to Elda to help her through in all her wet skin. Space folds and within an instant the brighter lighting of their home would be on full blast, an empty place even still despite all their efforts to even fill the smallest portion of it. To the table he'd start to remove his combat equipment. "I'll get started once I get all this put away. Take your time." The man offers as he starts to remove buckles, after placing the large red robe on its rack.

Blades removed, as well as harnesses and gloves leaving him only in his more standardized attire. Very plain, yet functional. His glasses flare as he pushes them up his nose and moves into the kitchen space. The one space that they actually removed a ton of the excessive fixtures and made it a lot simpler. Despite not wanting to demolish the history of the place, the same wasn't entirely true about the interior. Even still it made him a little uncomfortable how rich it was. The click of a fridge opens up, taking a quick scan of what was inside. eggs, a few cuts of meats and all manner of fruits, vegetables, milk. Everything the man should need, and he'd move for the cupboards and slide them open. Tons of different spices and sauces, all kept fresh in glass of their own. Their pantry was rather well stocked.

A small book slid from the top most shelf, one that he'd procured from Horunka of all places. He'd begin to finger through the pages, settling on something rather simple to cut his teeth on. Scanning the recipe twice for good measure, its written to memory in a way that he'd never forget it. Leaving the book open to the page, he'd place it in the holder at the back of the left counter. Pulling up a larger baking pan, a cutting board and slide knives closer to his station. After a few moments, and meticulous planning the countertop is littered with all manner of supplies: Lemons, chicken breast, asparagus, a small bag of flour, and a little vial of pepper. A small stick of butter tapped near the frying pan, and a little jar of salt.

This was just like alchemy, the man was already a professional cook but wasn't aware of that fact.

Slicing the lemon into thin disks, and rather elegantly carving the bone from the chicken with a little issue. He pulls the stove to the proper temperature, even going as far to press a thermometer against the pan to make sure its heated properly to the exact decimal. Adjusting the dial ever so slightly to achieve the exact result like a scientist. A slice of butter down to the millimeter, there wasn't any deviation from the provided recipe. The sheer level of precision down to the smallest grain of salt, the man has zero issue following through all the steps provided. He cuts up the asparagus as the chicken breast coated in flour sizzles in the pan, stealing glances to the thermometer constantly, maintaining the heat. It was nearly effortless, and within a few moments the entire meal is prepared without a single misstep or issue. Plating it as he'd recall the image, the damn thing even was almost visually one to one with what was in the book. Out to the table, its hot and ready and done within 15 minutes. The man silently nursed the thought of how much simpler this was by comparison to his trade, and far less explosive.

Rushing up the stairs into her room of creations. It was full of a large assortment of outfits but none that she really wanted to wear. It was rounding sunset and she didn't want to put the same thing on as it was painted with dirt spots. "Great" saying with a sigh. She didn't have much in the way of night gowns, the only sex lace stuff that Simmone gave her. Looking through them it was all so oof... Deciding that she was just going to wear a long white t-shirt, she pulls it off the hanger. A shower was needed, that water was not the cleanest and she could feel it on her skin. Not only that but she had to warm up somehow, she still felt like she was freezing.

Shower done, it was really quick. She didn't want to keep him waiting that long. Drying her hair before flipping it forward and back up. She combs it back with her fingers. Walking down with a pep in her step, wearing a long t-shirt that went down to her knees. She felt better, clean. Smelling something amazing, an almost playful glare at the table. It had only been 20 minutes and the man was already done. She had never seen him cook, "Hmm, very curious" saying as she glanced around seeing the cook book on the counter. So he didn't cheat, "The real test is how does it taste..." Cutting a small piece off, walking to Raidou who was cleaning up in the kitchen. Moving it to her mouth with a smile that wouldn't leave. Chewing it slowly, it actually wasn't bad but she trying not to show the surprised feeling. "Okay, fine it's better than mine. Not better that Gaius though" saying with a chuckle as she grabs a couple glasses from the pantry. Grabbing the wine from the corner counter. The drank the rest of what Raidou brought home but never opened the other one. It was suppose to be perfect, Gaius standard, mind blowing. Popping the cork as it sizzles with a light mist oozing from the top.

Taking the bottle and the cup to the table, pouring each half full. A small sip, she makes a weird face with a hard swallow. "Wow that's strong..." Opening her HUD she would pull out the list and placing it on the table. Sitting down with her legs crossed, "I know that most of the stuff on that list is cheesy and weird but I feel like that is what a bucket list is suppose to be. Obtuse and crazy stuff that gives you that thrilling sensation." Cutting into the chicken, it got better with each bite taken. "Do you have a list?"

Pouring himself a bit of the wine, the smell was immediately potent to the nose. So strong he could damn near taste it from just a sniff. A very small sip had one of his eyes almost shut completely as it was very obviously alcoholic. How the hell the man had achieved the consistency of a spirit in fermented grapes was an entirely new realm of unfeasibility. Finally setting his eyes on Elda, who was wandering around in nothing more then a T-shirt that he wasn't even entirely sure where she got it from. Making sure to keep the cork off the wine and let it breathe a little, the stuff needed it. Her approval further cemented the mans confidence, given in all new activity there was always the lingering sense of presumed failure.

"To be fair, Gaius does this for a living. I basically just followed a recipe." Raidou comments helping the food to a couple of plates, setting the silverware out very particularly before taking to a seat all his own. "There is no such thing as cheesy. If its something you want to do, do it. Don't let others perceptions dissuade you from enjoying life." Taking another sip and his face puckers again, this stuff was divine but probably overkill as something you'd drink with a meal. "I don't." The man offered off the cuff as he'd start to gingerly cut into his own meal. It was standard stock, there was flavor to be sure but it was never his strong suit. There wasn't anything that distinguished it out from something you'd be able to get anywhere. The glories of an unrefined skill. "Should I start one? Not really sure where to begin with such a thing." He'd offer rather plainly, a most potent truth. Raidou didn't find himself coveting something in particular on the regular given his journeys had him frequenting all manner of obtuse and extraordinary sights on the regular.

A hard swallow as she was trying really hard not to choke on her food. Watching Raidou's face pucker from the potency on the mixture, it was amusing. It wasn't something that she saw very often from the man. Reluctantly she takes another sip, it takes her a moment to actually get it down but when she does her eyes shut as she quickly shakes her head. "Jeeze" no context but they both knew. Taking a deep inhale, it was some strange strong stuff. She would wonder how much it would take before the weird feeling would show up. "Yes, yes you should..." eyes meeting his. "I know, its why I wanted to climb the tallest tree in Aincrad. The only thing that I have climbed was my roof top back home." A gentle gaze given, "You should give yourself more credit. Most people can't follow a simple recipe so you already have an advantage." Hearing him say he wasn't sure where to start, she pulls the parchment toward her.

Deep in thought now trying to figure out a way to help him. It was clear that it wasn't something he ever thought about for good reason. There was never any time to spare till recently. "Well lets start by thinking about the one thing that you have wanted to do your entire life but have never gotten a chance to do it. Like climbing the tallest mountain and yelling at the top of your lungs. Like you said nothing is too cheesy or dumb, what is the first thing that pops in your mind." Taking the last bite of asparagus, the flavor was there, it is better than anything she had even done. For a spit second she forgets out strong the drink was a takes a huge gulp, eyes squint as her she sticks her tongue out. "Crap..." as she feels her face fluster. Patting her cheeks with her palms, this was so not intentional...

Raidou would push on his glasses, conveying that look of deeper thought. The man could honestly think of very little that would qualify to be written on any such list. His personal motivations and goals were a lot more grounded, and a lot less expressed in bouts of whimsy. Taking another swig of his glass, the air had done it some good, making it a lot less acidic. "Well, perhaps in time I will give it a little more of an honest attempt." Raidou offered the girl the subtle reply, there was little reason he didn't cook on the regular other then it was already done when he arrived. It wasn't that he didn't consider himself capable enough, just it wasn't his desire to become excessively good at it. On the other front, the man had already scaled the tallest mountains, witnessed the largest ravines, scoured the landscape for all manner of beasts. His robe bore the scents of nearly every location it had ever visited, a tapestry of scents as if a landmark of all of aincrad. His journey had had him travel all over, and there was little that he had not looked upon personally. When a life carried was so extraordinary, it was the simple things that became rare.

The man wanted to share his simple days with Elda, it was the lists one and only perpetual addition. To share in each others experiences, to wake up to a morning streak of light and see her face. The cries of birds on an ever blue sky, and watch her eyes light up with a smile. A simplicity made rare through its lack of excess. "I have an idea." The man would stand, reaching out for Elda's hand and leading her to the piano. "Something I've been thinking about for a while." The man would lean over, lifting up the wooden cover to reveal the black and white keys. The man would sit and begin to trail the keys, testing the tuning before patting the seat at his side.

Excitement rose as she takes his hand. The piano, it was something that she wanted to learn but aside from her voice being her only instrument, she didn't even know the basics. Apparently that was what he was intending. He showed her in letter formatting of how it worked. Fingers lightly tapped each key so that she could hear the difference in tempo. Eruda's was fixated on everything he was saying and showing her. He started to play a rather basic song, something with not a bunch of notes but it was still beautiful. When he was done he allow her to try, the first couple times she messed it up. Each time she would chuckle a bit, he would correct her and she would start again. It was like studying for a test at school, keep going til you got the right answer. The one thing that kept going through her head was she could do anything if she just believed. Something Rai had drilled into her mind. It was a rather simple song, when she got the first part down he would show her the next part. With each section of the song there was plenty of mess ups but eventually she would get it down then move to the next. Replaying each section with the new addition verse. This went on for hours before the entire song was learned.

Raidou scooted over a bit, this was the ultimate test. How much of this could she remember. Taking a deep breath, as she starts to play what he taught her. Focusing on both hands, it was played a bit slower than it should be but she had to start somewhere. She was sure that speed came with practice. Playing for about 5 minutes before the song ended, placing her hands on her knees looking to Raidou. She knew that there was a few off key moments but it was her first time. "How was that" asking with a small smile. He just had a smile on his face, she would turn his head lightly with a finger and press her lips softly against his. Closing her eyes, enjoying it for all but a moment. Pulling back but still close, "Thank you" saying in a small voice. She could see reflections of her blue eyes in his embers. Heart began to race, they were so close, and right then it felt like time had froze. There was no where else she would rather be. A hand is placed lightly against his cheek, she couldn't bring herself to look away.
