Raven Hollow
Cemetery
Midnight

Once, Raven Hollow's cemetery had been beautiful. Perhaps it was strange to call a field of buried bodies beautiful, but no other adjective fit it quite so well. Each headstone gleamed, scrubbed until the carved letters seemed to shimmer as they reflected the sunlight. Wildflowers swayed between the rows, bees and butterflies alike flitting between the brightly colored blooms. Tall, healthy trees cast their shade, their leaves aflame with the colors of an eternal autumn. It was a resting place befitting the lives of lost loved ones, thanks entirely to Daniel Esther, the gravekeeper. He had loved the grounds, and the many souls buried within it. In fact, it was this love that had ultimately cost him his life.

And with his death, so too did the beauty of the cemetery die. Weeds choked the wildflowers, storms ravaged the trees, and time chipped away at the grave markers until the names upon them became nearly illegible. They jutted from the ground like a junkie's crooked, rotting teeth, dull and lifeless beneath the full moon. A heaviness blanketed the area, perhaps a bit too intense to be simply lingering grief from times long ago.

With a notebook in hand Firefly did what she always did best: Find obscure locations and record her findings. Going to places where very few people saw those sights was like being in your own special place. All of that is to say that Firefly was finding appreciation for the upper floors where so much fewer players could not freely go. Perhaps the graveyard was a common sight but what does it matter if it caught her eye? It was interesting all the same.

Writing with only the aid of the moonlight was not easy, she was beginning to realize. Though that thought alone was an indicator that she had overstayed her walk around Floor 28. She wasn't sure if monsters were more powerful at night, or more dangerous creatures threatened night shifters. If things were dangerous, she could always flee or use a teleportation crystal. So she approached slowly, checking to see if the cemetery was safe to enter lest she run straight into a zombie's arms.
