Nari was more than familiar with the requirements of most games. Resources were required for anything, and more so than ever in Aincrad. Even though it was a digital world, basic amenities were still a necessity for survival – including food and drinks. That meant making some means of currency, in this case the famous col. Every player in Aincrad knew that basis, whether they came into the world with the knowledge, or learnt it over time.

Nari’s current issue was the lack of any materials to her name – a fact that she had partially cursed herself for earlier. An up and coming player had caught her eye, and in a measure of despair and depression, she’d handed over almost everything she had – a mistake, perhaps, but one she stood by even now. Still, she knew that she needed to overcome that error, and get herself back into a normal living condition, one where she could hold her own in the world. One where she could afford to return to the frontlines – an endeavour that was entirely time consuming, dangerous and expensive.

’Which is why Mio and I are going to hit the fields today. Nothing dangerous, or over the top. Just a bit of collection. We both know I need it.’ She added the final sentence as she saw Onora preparing to argue. The blonde pulled back from whatever she was about to say, apparently considering the fact before shaking her head and realising she’d been outsmarted, this time. Or perhaps simply not desiring to argue – Nari could never quite tell. Either way, she’d said goodbye with a measure of peace, and that had been enough.

The late morning sun shone down on her, breaking away some of the chill that had overtaken the air. Nari had chosen the second floor out of habit, moving down from the main settlement and into the river valleys with ease and comfort. There wasn’t a lot here that could harm her – an important part of her plan in the coming hours. She’d intended to do nothing more than some basic grinding, cutting down mobs in order to obtain the materials, col and other resources required. That didn’t require her to enter areas of danger beyond the most basic of requirements.

The wild oxen roamed the fields in front of her, the mountains reaching to the sky on either side. Nari levelled herself, glancing around in order to make sure no major threats were moving her way, before making her way down the main thoroughfare of the area – if one could call it that. Little more than a well-worn animal path that reached to the central area of the valley she had entered, dirt showing beneath low grown grasses. She quickly picked out a pair of the oxen, moving to engage them with a speed that seemed out of place considering her heavier armour and bulk. Her shield slammed into place as the pair turned towards her, the spear’s tip hovering and prepared to meet their coming charge.
