Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Saturday at 06:39 PM Author #41 Share Posted Saturday at 06:39 PM (edited) ’You’ve…done really well here, haven’t you?’ Onora’s eyes glanced across the collection of fish that Nari had been piling; the thrilling tale of the success that had been building each moment they’d continued to spend within the garden. What wasn’t visible were they additional pieces of various armours, weapons and other trinkets that had been fished up alongside the actual fish themselves – a variety of things that could be sold, identified or otherwise used for whatever purpose was required. ’Patience is a virtue, you know.’ Nari’s response wasn’t meant to be snippy or sarcastic by any means, but as the words escaped her lips, she knew that she likely hadn’t come across as friendly and welcoming as she’d meant to be. ’Sure, but…since when did you have either?’ Onora grinned as she glanced over, the blonde clearly teasing her better than Nari could’ve hoped to return. An unfair fight, certainly, Nari knew. Post Action | Fishing ID256266 | LD [19] | CD [3] | Failure [+3 EXP | 307/499] Edited Saturday at 06:40 PM by Nari-Lanreth
Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Saturday at 06:43 PM Author #42 Share Posted Saturday at 06:43 PM (edited) ’Whaaattt? I thought I was the most virtuous person within this whole world…’ She giggled as the sentence fizzled out, unable to maintain the composure she had wanted when delivering the line. Onora laughed beside her, clearly as amused by the idea as Nari was in the moment. Neither carried any malice or ill intent, and yet Nari could see Nemo looking on with wonder, worry and clear confusion as to what was going on. Not that the man-drake would ask anything about their private conversation; he kept to himself for the most part, if he wasn’t directly approached. ’Seriously though, what are we going to do with all this fish…?’ The laughing had subsided as Onora glanced over the ever growing pile – Nari’s line pulled back in had come up empty, but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t continuously adding to the otherwise large group that she already had. She glanced over at the collection of fish, scales and assorted other critters that had come in with the line, wanting to shrug but knowing she needed a plan of some sort. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Saturday at 06:48 PM Author #43 Share Posted Saturday at 06:48 PM (edited) ’Well…’ Nari’s voice shifted almost as much as she did with the single word, the thoughts flowing through her, but not quite making it out into the air beyond her throat. She had some ideas, certainly, but saying them aloud was a different story entirely. ’I thought…maybe…you know, I could use like…the scales and stuff…we could maybe use them in like…various armours, or clothing or…accessories…?’ Onora stared at her for a few seconds, blinking slowly as she clearly tried to take the thoughts in. Suddenly she snorted, and Nari found herself jerking on the fishing rod in surprise and a small measure of annoyance. She knew the idea was basic – a foundation of an idea, if one wanted to be more accurate – but she also knew that it wasn’t entirely ludicrous in concept. It was simply a matter of ironing out the entirety of the experience, that was required. A means of bringing the simplicity of it all, into something manageable and workable. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Saturday at 06:59 PM Author #44 Share Posted Saturday at 06:59 PM (edited) ’You know…that might not be a horrible idea. I’m impressed you came up with it yourself.’ Onora’s voice was soft as any form of laughter that might have occurred died away, leaving nothing more than a sincere tone behind it. Nari’s eyes shifted over slightly, narrowing as they looked in search of anything that could be construed as less than sincerity in the form of Onora’s appearance. Only once she was certain that the woman was being altruistic in her commentary, did Nari decide to respond. ’You sound surprised by that. I can have good ideas once in a while.’ She stuck her tongue out to signify her own joke, hoping that Onora wouldn’t actually think she was upset by the commentary – though a part of her may have wanted to be. ’Still…that’s about as far as I managed to get with the idea. So if you have any insight to share…it would be appreciated. Honestly, this is a lot of fish to use…’ Post Action | Fishing ID256292 | LD [11] | CD [16] | +1 material | Treasure Chest [+16 EXP | 342/499] ID256293 | LD [8+3] =11 | Unidentified Perfect Armour/Shield {1}, Unidentified Rare Armour/Shield {1} Edited Saturday at 07:00 PM by Nari-Lanreth
Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Saturday at 07:12 PM Author #45 Share Posted Saturday at 07:12 PM (edited) ’I might actually be able to come up with a few things, depending on what sort of material you managed to salvage from them…if nothing else, I might be able to grind the scales down into a dye…worth a shot, if for no other reason than throwing it all away would be a waste…’ Onora had sunk into thoughtful commentary, the words meant for no other beyond herself. Nari half listened as she worked through a number of ideas, most of it foreign to Nari’s own mind and understanding – some of it sounding somewhat familiar, but still beyond her. ’You know, a touch of alchemy might be required to really bring this into use.’ Onora suddenly said after moments of quiet work. Nari’s line had snagged something, but she shifted her gaze towards the blonde, raising an eyebrow in unspoken question. ’Well, if neither of us is willing to obtain the alchemist role itself, we can always outsource that. I’m sure the work wouldn’t cost too much, and could be recovered easily in our own profits.’ Post Action | Fishing ID256301 | LD [15] | CD [3] | Failure [+3 EXP | 345/499] Edited Saturday at 07:13 PM by Nari-Lanreth
Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Monday at 09:20 PM Author #46 Share Posted Monday at 09:20 PM (edited) Nari was content to listen to Onora’s planning and scheming for a while, the calmness of the activity mixed with the leisure of her fishing experience putting her into an almost trance like existence. Her mind wandered, though where or over what she could not quite say – all she knew for certain was that she was focused upon the fishing, and the dangers around her, while also being entirely disconnected from the world in a sense. ’Still awake?’ The voice cut through the depths of her thoughts, and Nari found herself slowly looking towards Onora with a sudden realisation that the woman’s words had been all but lost to her. Seconds passed as she tried to collect what little she could from anything that had been mentioned, before she simply shrugged off the attempt, and decided to respond in truth. ’I am, though I fear I haven’t been listening. Everything is so…calm and peaceful, I just sort of drifted off somewhere.’ Onora’s grin told Nari that the admission had been obvious, if nothing else. Still, she felt better admitting to the fact, than trying to hide it and pretend otherwise. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Monday at 09:27 PM Author #47 Share Posted Monday at 09:27 PM (edited) ’You’re right, it’s easy to find yourself overly relaxed here…isn’t it?’ Onora glanced towards the fields in the distance, and Nari found herself nodding naturally along with the commentary. She let her gaze follow the blonde’s, taking in the various environment and wondering if it could ever have been something more inviting. If Aincrad could have been a second home to those who were stuck here now. ’If it wasn’t so dangerous…’ She wasn’t surprised at Onora’s similar train of thought. They’d had many a discussion about it in the past; going over how Aincrad could have been such a wonder, if it hadn’t immediately become prison, executioner and finality. Though by no means twinned in thought and consideration, they had shared at least some familiar ideals about the world they now called home – or, something alongside home. Nari still hated the idea of calling this place their new world, or their life; as much as she might have liked the digital world, she hated the idea of everything it stood for, everything it represented. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Monday at 09:55 PM Author #48 Share Posted Monday at 09:55 PM (edited) ’It’s too bad, really…’ She started the typical thought process, expecting to head down a repetitive conversation that always ended the same. Something in Nari shifted though, and she found herself uninterested in the conversation suddenly. A few breaths of pause followed the start of her statement, before she figured out something else to say instead. ’…I mean, it’s too bad that we don’t have access to this place more easily. Imagine how much fishing I could do if I only had to walk into the backyard…might be worth considering a housing expansion, at some point.’ ’Just what we need, a fish pond in the backyard that can become overgrown with algae and dirt, and smell like the back end of a bad fish market.’ Although Onora wrinkled her nose, Nari couldn’t miss the grin of sarcasm on her face, nor in her words. She found herself laughing in response, waving a hand as if to shoo away the ideas themselves from the air. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Monday at 09:59 PM Author #49 Share Posted Monday at 09:59 PM (edited) ’Firstly, the waters here don’t go rancid like you’d expect, so that wouldn’t be a problem.’ Nari wrinkled her own nose as she spoke, though in more of a comedic mimicry of the other woman, than in any form or appearance of disgust. ’And secondly, I’d be maintaining it fairly often, so it wouldn’t get to smell that bad to begin with!’ ’Sure, like you clean the kitchen area, right?’ The words were a jest, but as Nari glanced over, she couldn’t help but wonder if her lack of assistance and general help in the kitchen wasn’t secretly bothering Onora. She knew better than to ask outright – the blonde would simply deny it, and the topic would fall to the side entirely. That said, Nari made a mental note to ensure she was keeping up with her own side of the work, including the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen area and equipment. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted Monday at 10:11 PM Author #50 Share Posted Monday at 10:11 PM (edited) ’Are you still enjoying yourselves?’ The sound of Nemo’s voice caused both to look back suddenly, startled by his quiet appearance in their immediate vicinity. Nari cursed herself for not being more aware. Though nothing terrible had occurred, she knew better than to let her guard down – even if the area was relatively calm and safe. Dangers could present anywhere, and considering that she wasn’t alone, that only meant she would let more than herself down. ’Well enough so, thanks Nemo. Just relaxing and enjoying everything the garden has to offer.’ Onora glanced up and smiled at the man above them, clearly trying to reassure him that everything was alright. Thankfully, he seemed to not have noticed the shock and surprise he caused by his sudden appearance. Though Nari couldn’t tell whether he had done that on purpose or not, she assumed it was simply a nature of his that came without consideration or thought – an unfortunate behaviour around players that had become accustomed to violent responses, though. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted 2 hours ago Author #51 Share Posted 2 hours ago (edited) ’I would say, most of the time we come here, we enjoy ourselves Nemo. You should be proud of the area you’ve created. It’s…amazing. Breath taking and enthralling, I think smarter people than I would call it.’ Nari shot Onora a small grin, knowing full well the over the top politeness, and pointed commentary would make the blonde’s eyes roll. As if on cue, Onora’s expression shifted, and Nari found herself giggling in response as the blonde did exactly what she had expected. ’This brings me such joy, to hear you’re enjoying it! That’s the entire purpose I created all of this, for enjoyment! To bring people, animals and creatures together in a safe place…’ Nari tuned out the man as he began explaining a concept that had been repeated time and time again. She felt no frustration at it – it was the core of Nemo’s being, and a measure of how he, as a piece of this world, incorporated himself. Still, she was overtly tired of hearing it, and decided there was no real reason to listen – at least, this time. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #52 Share Posted 1 hour ago (edited) ”We aren’t going to be able to stay forever, you know?” Onora glanced over towards Nari with a knowing look, as if to suggest that they should consider leaving for home shortly – the same look Nari assumed a mother would give to a child, though she had to admit their relationship didn’t feel like a parent overseeing child type. It was something else, something more intimate. Perhaps a spouse scalding another for taking too long- Nari felt her face flush in direct response to the thought. She couldn’t imagine calling someone a spouse without some prior determination by the pair – or group, as it may be. She was open minded, if nothing else, after all. Still, as she glanced at Onora, she found herself wondering – not for the first time, either – exactly what their relationship was. It was a question she had considered, but never brought to the forefront of their conversations, due to the implications – and possible misunderstandings. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted 43 minutes ago Author #53 Share Posted 43 minutes ago (edited) Whatever thoughts Nari may have wanted to focus upon, they were torn away as the pair of hand creatures erupted from the water with the yank of her fishing rod. She barely had time to flow into motion, the spear and shield appearing in her hands as she called them to existence, before she was rushing in front of Onora and placing herself into a defensive stance. The sound of the blonde’s rapier slashing the air caused her eyes to break from the creatures for a single second. She almost called out to deny Onora’s engagement in the fight, before realising the blonde’s assistance might make or break the conflict she was about to head into. As much as Nari was confident in her capabilities, she also knew that she wasn’t planning on spending the day fighting a pair of hand creatures. She’d come with a single purpose – the focus on fishing, and upgrading her fishing level in tandem – and now she was being side tracked from that objective. Nari-Lanreth 0 Posted 24 minutes ago Author #54 Share Posted 24 minutes ago (edited) The two women moved in fluid tandem, wrapping around one another as the hands launched an attack of their own. Nari would call it excellent teamwork, a connection of the soul and mind, or something along those lines – if she were more aware of the sentimental ideologies of the situation. Instead, she simply knew it was a matter of the two having worked in the field together for so long. They’d come to know one another, and that meant reacting without communication or thought – Nari knew Onora’s typical strike patterns, as well as Onora knew Nari’s own style of fighting. A combination that allowed them to act as if they were of a single mind, without ever having to say a thing to each other. This is what fighting with frontliners should be like. The thought raced through her mind, and although Nari knew there was nothing malicious about it, it once again made her wonder about the relationship between herself and Onora. There wasn’t time to dwell upon it, though, and she swore to herself that she would instead ask – once the fight was over, perhaps.
